There are several varieties of “dangler” sheaths similar to what you’re describing. Most use a steel ring attached to the belt loop on the sheath and a leather loop that attaches to your belt.

I did something similar with my mora companion by making a loop of cord with a double fisherman’s knot and one of these

You can get them on amazon for $10. They can be annoying if you're taking your holster on and off all day, but they are also a lot more secure than any clip will be.

I bought these. They are really easy to install, you just attach them through the eyelets in the kydex. They might not be long enough to wrap around the enuff sheath, but I think they will most likely work.
