I'll try to keep tabs on everything but let me know if there are any errors or price updates. And as a side note, I'm actually getting downvotes for this? I can't see how there could possibly be a sane explanation for that.

EDIT: Updated 7:00pm EST!! Let me know if there's anything you see and I'll put it in here!

EDIT: I've put everything new as of Jan 11, 4:00pm in bold. Also, check this post on RedFlagDeals for a great big list of deal

EDIT: Its all over everyhone. Hope you snagged something cool beyond bitter disappointment this year!**

>No person has ever said or thought, "I want my headphones cable to be more convoluted, proprietary, and expensive to replace."

That's one of the reasons why my favorite headphones for a few years now (I'm on my second pair) are the August EP650s. For 50$ headphones they sound fantastic, are extremely comfortable, and they connect natively to bluetooth, 3.5mm and USB. I use them literally all day, for everything. I turn them on in the morning and they pair immediately to my phone, so I can listen to podcasts on my commute; at the office, I turn off the bluetooth on my phone and they immediately pair with my main work computer; back to my phone on the way home, and I plug them in via USB to my home computer to use with that and charge at the same time; finally, if I feel like playing with my synthesizers, they can plug into my mixer via 3.5mm (which is also helpful if the battery ever dies, but with a ~10 hour lifespan in my experience, that doesn't happen much). Not to mention they come with a male/male 3.5mm cable and a standard USB cable, which most people will have lying around anyway, but is a nice touch ('cables not included' is quickly becoming the 'batteries not included' of this generation).

They have easy to use control buttons on the right side for play/pause, volume and forward/back, the band is very adjustable (I have a huge head and no complaints, same goes for a friend of mine who owns the same model and has a tiny head) and they switch automatically to whatever source they're connected to that's playing media (i.e. if they're connected via bluetooth to your phone and via usb to your computer, pressing play on either source will automatically work). The only criticisms I have for them are that the included microphone is garbage, so don't expect to be taking calls with them (even though that's an advertised feature), the UI is a little confusing until you get the hang of it (you pretty much have to learn to intuit what the assortment of beeps and light flashes it produces mean, and the included manual isn't very helpful) and there's no way to tell if they've paired successfully while you're wearing them (only indication is the LED on the side or checking the host device, some kind of Success! tone would be nice). Those are pretty minor complaints for me though, and at a 50$CAD price point, I'm more than willing to live with them.

Just to be clear, I do not work for the company that makes these, nobody's paid me to post this, I just genuinely love these headphones and think everyone should have a pair. They're the opposite of proprietary connectivity, in that, like your mom, they're open to anything.

dude... we have 3 cats in a tiny 750 sq ft bungalow. if we don't vac daily its like a terrible litter desert. if you have carpet, forget it.

i do all the vaccuming. with my $50 mediocre NC bluetooth headphones after a dab, it's actually almost enjoyable =P
after you're done and the floor is all clean and smoove, mmm, zen.

gf does practically everything else around the house, she is a chores maniac who 'cannot rest near a mess' which sometimes drives me insane but im just thrilled that i dont have to live with a superslob

u/inyminymyneemo · 3 pointsr/gadgets

I have these. They are the best headphones i ever had. The price/quality ratio is amazing. Also the battery is also super good. I use it for at least 3 hours each day and only have to charge them every 10 days or so. The sound quality and isolation are also great for that price.

u/Amanateee · 3 pointsr/Fitness

Definitely a question for /r/headphones, but I've enjoyed my August EP650s quite a bit. Really comfortable, quite snug, and not too shabby audio quality, especially coming in at $50 or so.

u/eugene2n · 2 pointsr/headphones

Those are under 50£ get good reviews and people say the bass is reasonably good so edm should sound good on them.
They are bluetooth, fold up for travel and aren't too big.

u/skuliaxe · 2 pointsr/gadgets

I recently did a fair bit of research before changing from wired to Bluetooth Headphones.

I ended up with buying August EP650. Currently @ $53 on Amazon. Here is a trusty review on youtube as the same person reviews a lot of headphones on youtube.

There's also a pouch/bag that can be bought separately and I highly recommend it.

u/Gary_FucKing · 2 pointsr/bodybuilding

Some decent $40-50~ over ear headphones would be nice! I was thinking of getting these because of the price and design (BT being a nice plus), but the comments say the ear pieces are a bit small and I have slightly big ears. :/

u/strifeblood · 2 pointsr/xboxone

Getting a Xbox One S + FIFA 17 bundle soon (Microsoft's store says the release date is the 22nd, but customer support told me there's a good chance it can arrive by then), and I was wondering if anybody knows if bluetooth headphones with a mic built in (meant for talking on the phone apparently) will work with the Xbox? These are the particular ones I'm getting in case it helps. Or would I have to simple buy an aux cable with a mic attached?

u/Tron_Kitten · 1 pointr/headphones

I would prefer about 100 max CAD, which was about 80 USD. I know I won't get amazing headphones for that price but I don't have a lot off spare cash right now. Wireless is best because we have a kitten who has a thing about chewing cables and cords haha.

Any idea if these are any good? A lot of the reviews seem very positive about them.

u/ZippoS · 1 pointr/apple

lol, thanks.

Apparently the range on the Beats is even better than I thought: http://appleinsider.com/articles/16/09/16/beats-solo3-wireless-headphones-may-have-range-up-to-400-ft-or-more

I would have figured 50ft... but apparently it can go much, much further if there's nothing blocking the signal. Impressive. My old headphones (these ones) could barely turn a corner before starting to cut out.

And yeah, the battery life is great. I have a Monday-to-Friday office job and I probably listen to music for 7 hours of each 8-hour day. It's 2:15pm on Tuesday, so let's say I've had these things on for 12 hours this week so far. Battery is currently at 82%.

They were pretty tight on my head when I first got them (Christmas), but a few months later and they're super comfortable.

u/untitleddocument37 · 1 pointr/funny

gone up in price but still reasonable

I like them. Even in Linux if you plug in the USB it shows up as a proper usb "soundcard"

Recently bought this and I am pleased with it. If you sweat a lot you may need to take it off and wipe it down so it doesn't slip while you're lifting.

u/sports_and_animals · 1 pointr/headphones

Hi, looking to purchase a pair of Bluetooth headphones, primarily for the gym but would also likely use at home for long periods of time. I've narrowed it down to a few options but am having difficulty evaluating which is the best choice as I've not heard of most of the brands. Hoping you guys can tell me which ones are good quality.

The August EP650s are so cheap the deal seems almost too god to be true.

The Jabra REVO was recommended though I'm not really sure what I'd actually be getting for the higher price. Without being able to actually listen and compare the headphones I'm worried I might just be paying for brand name.

The SOL Republic Tracks Air are highly reviewed but I've got the same questions about them as the REVO.

My main criteria are comfort, durability, and sound. Isolation is not a huge deal, more isolation is nice but I've generally found that most over-the-ear headphones are adequate. I'd prefer little leakage so as to not be inconsiderate to others. I mostly listen to classic rock, but also some pop, classical, jazz, and funk. I'm open to other suggestions in the under $150 dollar range you all might have.

Thanks!

I listen about 2-3 hours every day. So they have at least 20 hours playback time for me.

-Bluetooth wireless headphones are always a cool option.
-A really nice leather backpack/work bag.
-Star Wars The Black Series Risk Game.
-This super-cool gaming mouse.

Also, if you have some money left over to spend, here are some smaller gifts that can go in his stocking :)
-A picture of the two of you, in a nice frame.
-Cards Against Humanity.
-These silly floppy disk drink coasters.
-A portable charger. Super useful.

u/Badmadbrad · 1 pointr/audiophile

I've never been a big Audiophile, I enjoy my music/ movies/ game sounds generally with these cheap speakers

and use these earphones more on the go but also to plug into the speakers if I'm playing games late

What I am looking into getting is a decent pair of headphones, good sound quality, microphone, wireless, ability to be plugged in (would that improve the sound?, also for non Bluetooth devices), the bluetooth is not a required feature but I haven't found wireless headphones with a microphone.

I'm looking at these headphones and was wondering if anyone had an opinion on these or has a better option?

Also I'd be running them off of onboard audio and a bluetooth dongle if I get a bluetooth one

I'm not looking to spend too much on them, maybe up to about £60. Any help would be appreciated!

u/Omni_Entendre · 1 pointr/buildapcsales

August ep650 are bluetooth headphones that I use for pretty much any wireless needs. I've used them for working out, making long phone calls, and listening to music. They don't have active noise cancelling, though.

But they are fantastic value for the money. You might not get the best sound out of them (thought there is a wired mode for slight improvement), but that's not what I bought them for. The company even makes an excellent carrying case for portable travel.

u/TheStrangestSecret · 1 pointr/Fitness

Cant believe no ones mentioned the August ep650, damn amazing headphones at a cheap price.

u/PrionBacon · 1 pointr/buildapc

You can probably get more for your money if you get wireless headphones and get a separate clip on mic when you need them. Full headsets usually cost more than headphone/mic separately.

Make sure to check that the wireless feature works for your computer (bluetooth or if it has it's own wireless transmitter).

This one has a built in mic and has good reviews: http://www.amazon.co.uk/August-EP650-Bluetooth-Wireless-Headphones-Black/dp/B00F54Y6GU

u/rosareven · 1 pointr/sydney

(Budget)

These ones (Avantree)

or

these ones (August EP650)

Also, do anyone know if the mic will work on my xbox one ? I have a 3.5mm jack controller. I am open to other suggestions in the same price range as well.

u/Phridgey · 1 pointr/gadgets

That's true! Though I'd argue that the charging is marginal, especially when both the device and headphones can charge off the same kind of wire. And 5m of charging will give a solid two hours of listening time. Bluetooth also has gotten much less power hungry in the last half-decade.

I have two pairs myself. A 600$ pair of Bowers and Wilkins, and these guys off Amazon that are often on sale for 40$ and I gotta say, I'm 90% as happy with the cheap ones.

The difference in comfort and immersion is indescribable. Wires suck. Tripping over wires sucks. Untangling wires sucks. Stripping the 3.5mm jack over a thousand or so plugs and unplugs sucks.

u/Sinuking · 1 pointr/bapcsalescanada

I don't know anything about those specific headphones or what standard of quality you're used to listening to but personally I bought the August EP650 which aren't very well known outside Amazon I imagine but it has around a 4.5/5 rating on amazon and I personally own them and love them. Bluetooth quality is amazing, has the option to use a wire cord and good battery life (rechargeable)

Again I haven't used super high quality headsets and don't know your standard for quality but for me they're fantastic and cheap (price not quality).

Morning /r/Headphones. I'm trying to get some bluetooth headphones for travel and general use with my tablet with a tight budget. Here are my requirements:

Budget: 50$

Source: tablet/laptop (microsoft surface pro 3)

Isolation: The more the better. I'll be using these headphones for outside work and school. However, i know that $50 isn't much, so I'll take what I can get.

Prefered type:Full sized

Tonal Balance: I honestly don't know, since my knowledge on this matter is zero. I guess general balance would be good?

Past headphones: ATH M30, loved it. Logitech G230, loved it as well. I had others, like skullcandy IEMs. Never had a bluetooth headphone before however.

Prefered Music: Rock (like linkin park, within temptation, icon for hire), Kitaro, Dubstep (along the lines of Butterfly by bassnectar), a lot of celtic (Loreena Mckennitt, gaelic storm), Chanting-like songs (such as anything sang by Gregorian Chants), etc. I have a wide range of tastes.

I would also like them to be comfortable, since i'll be using them a lot.

A quick amazon searched showed be these two headphones. The only thing I know about them is that they're the right price, and people like them. That's really about it; I don't understand what they mean by driver size and wattage output in real-word performance.
