  1. You're going to need a capture card to record your video from your console. Look at Elgato or Hauppauge

  2. Of course you'll need a Camera to record your face-cam, any one will do. Logitech is popular for these.

  3. Okay so you've recorded all your footage, now what? Pop that footage into a video editing program like Adobe Premiere and get to work. Crop out the parts of the game capture you don't want, layer them over your face-cam recordings, and boom. There are dozens of tutorials on how to crop footage, basic editing, etc.

  4. Render that shit.

  5. Upload it to YouTube and prepare to not be able to monetize the video you spent all that time making.

This one is fun! Okay so let's go numerical here.

  1. recording is cpu intensive but mostly recording software doesn't utilize hyperthreading. So the difference in the i7 and i5 is .2 MHz per core. No biggie.
  2. Z mobo are about 30% more expensive. This can vary a ton bases on the board. There is 2 data 6 gb/s. You use these for ssd and HDD. There is also two data express. These can be used for optical drives and some other things. Really HDD can run fine on data express. If you got another ssd you would move the HDD to SATA express.
  3. Yes it can. Fps drop shouldn't be more than 10% but that has little to do with the GPU and more to do with the HDD bogging down as it writes the data. It is very important that the game you are recording is installed on the SSD and that you are recording to the ssd. Ooooorrrr you can pick up one of these gizmos and not worry about it at all.
  4. it's worse because your in Australia. But yes 144 hz monitors are double to triple 60 hz at any resolution.
Sorry this took awhile but I was digging deep on some of the titles you mentioned and video cards. A non-reference 1050ti will probably hit somewhere near 60 fps on Witcher but if you want to be sure stay with the 1060 6gb. I only hesitate since your goal is recording and I want you displaying at high quality.
Here is the same build with a great 60 hz monitor. Leaves plenty of room for a recorder. Note that the recorder was in USD.

Tanooki uses this thing, the "Portable Standalone PVR". I use something that's basically the same, but older and way more expensive to buy now because they don't make new ones anymore. No computer needed, just USB.

You gotta get some adapter cables to get it to work for Melee, because it doesn't have splitting or have direct composite inputs. Ask Tanooki or Ziggy Stardust for more info on what cables you should buy exactly, I'm not familiar enough with their devices to say for sure.

Buy a capture card and stick with elgato or the HDPvr. Depends on what type of computer you have which is best.
I've heard elgato is best on macs and HDPvrs are better with windows.
Also.... you WILL need an HDMI splitter that will filter out the HDCP that Ps3 has to prevent recording in HD or else you'll have to hook up through component and your quality will suffer.
Supposedly THIS one is the best and eliminates HDCP totally so you can hook up HDMI from PS3 to splitter, HDMI to capture device, then HDMI to laptop/pc and to the TV.
Personally, I have the HDPvr Rocket which is portable and can capture on the fly. You can hook it up hard wired or record freestanding to a SD Card. Its THIS one.

Hauppauge HD PVR Rocket, perfect for what you're looking for. Link

The Portable Standalone version is also really nice, although it would probably need a little setup to start streaming, but for just recording it's awesome. What nice is you can plug a usb drive into it and record gameplay even when away from a PC, or plug it into PC and use the software. Plus it's got a big red button for recording, you can't beat big red buttons.

Hauppauge does as well.

I'd go with an AverMedia product though IMO.

You're supposed to buy a pc recorder like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GEBVEI6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XPfnDbE0TDVJE . Don't use an elgato for your PC screen
