You could put a box of something entirely unrelated (e.g. Sailor moon) and in it have fake spiders/cockroaches or other spooky stuff.
Or! You could buy a box of jelly beans. My evil boyfriend once bought me a box that had actual nice jellybeans mixed with nasty jellybeans (i.e. vomit flavour, rotten eggs etc). They were indistinguishable. I'm still traumatized. :P

Jelly Belly Bean Boozled It's like jellybean russian roulette! There are good flavoured beans and bad flavoured beans and you can't tell them apart until you eat them. It was a big hit with my brothers.

Halloween trivia? You could include facts about Halloween as well as Halloween movies etc. I think thats what I'll be doing this year as our party will be 25-30 people in a 1 bedroom condo so we won't have a lot of room.
