According to reviews and benchmarks they have great random read speeds (loading speed in games). Or at least they did back when I hunted for mine. Do a google search for them and I think you won't be disappointed. :)

Even though the switch cannot use the faster speed, if you ever have to use it on your computer or another device you might as well have a better card!

But Pro is supposed to be even better so that's strange. I agree with you though, the built in memory is probably more reliable as I've lost data from SD cards in the past.

Micro SD. This is the one I have.

I would not trust an old mechanical HDD to hold up against road vibrations. SSDs are dirt cheap now. Here's a 128gb microSD card for $20 if you want to do that route.

Preparing for the release of the Note 8. I like to watch a lot of tv/movies and was looking into the 128GB/256GB micro. The Note 5 was a pain with only 32GB and I never want to deal with that again.

What's the difference between the Samsing EVO^+ & EVO Plus?

Anyways, I'm looking for a micro sd that's reliable, has a high capacity & decent read/write speeds. Any recommendations?

I've been running one of the 64 Gig models in my Raspberry Pi for several years without any issues and still have a 32 Gig card I bought for my old Galaxy Note 2 many years ago and still running strong. If they will hold up to all the read/writes I have been throwing at them this long I don't see the new 128 Gig ones giving any issues. I just put one in my Switch about a week and a half ago and have been playing on it non stop. Long story short, yes I would recommend the Samsung Evo Select over many other brands.

If you are worried about it supposedly being manufactured in China (even though mine shows made in the Philippines) Their Evo Plus line is supposedly manufactured in Korea and are only 5 bucks more.

Buy a microsd... I personally suggest the SanDisk Ultra 128gb microsd that is $20 (I own 5 x 128gb and 1 x 400gb, all are solid and I have never had any issues).


Although I've seen from reviews that for $30 the SanDisk Extreme U3 A2 and Samsung EVO Plus U3 which are a newer versions are faster.

Found this micro sd card card among the top results on Amazon.es, it's 128GB and U3, looks a bit too good to be true. Do you think it is fake? I believe this is the seller, despite the high ratings, they seem to be rather new and don't have many ratings. What are your thoughts? Help appreciated.

Just bought a Vita and need to pick a SD card for the v5 SD2VITA adapter.

At this point the choices pretty much boiled down to a 128 GB card from either Samsung or Sandisk for ~20€, a 200 GB Sandisk for 27€ or a 256GB Transcend card for 34€.

Figures alone would make the Transcend the obvious choice, but I haven't used their products yet and I'm kinda vary of Chinese brands. I also don't know much storage is reasonable, I intend to install Vita, PSX and PSP games.
