They have one that's 27dB max that moves even more air. After looking at the internals of my Nortel I'm trying those first, the stick fans are 12cfm @ 43dB and these are 10.2 @ 27dB, I'm hoping that with them throttled back they'll be nearly inaudible while maintaining very nearly the same airflow. In any case it'll be an improvement.

Edit: I bought the one with the new part number style but it's basically this one: https://www.amazon.com/Sunon-40x40x20mm-pin-fan-KDE1204PKVX/dp/B006ODM76C

Oh and I just did this upgrade myself last night. For your power supply fan connect the blue wire to the yellow, red to red and black to black on your new 40mm fan.

I could not find screws to hold it in place so I ended up using zip ties. In one of my units the new fan was larger, in the other unit the fan was smaller.

Thermal resistance and heat creep seems to vary. I recently told a user about my experience with heat creep on all metal clone using the Noctua NF-A4x20 5V . Creep set in at about 30 minutes and took 2-3 weeks before I caught it. I used a gun and thermistor to spot it. It was just barely under the threshold to prevent it. I didn't see a noctua in that size range with higher CFM so I bailed on it and went with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006ODM76C/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This fan has higher CFM. I had to deal with some heat block cooling and autotuning because the excess air flow was cooling the block down. But in the end it worked out and I have not worked on that hotend in months. My experience was with high temp filaments at 250c.

This problem also exist with the regular E3D's which also seems to vary for whatever reasons. A lot of people just go ahead and drop a larger fan. Since we don't really have a in depth inspection of clones to asses which will do it, you are likely going to need a larger fan.
