This isn't a very good deal at all, please no one buy this...

Just spend the extra £6 and get a non-reference dual fan 5700 for £300.

Help!!

Should I get an ASRock Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB CHALLENGER D OC Video Card at $350 (have been nervous about some mixed reviews about noise/poor drivers)

or a non XT card, the XFX Radeon RX 5700 8 GB DD Ultra Video Card at $300? Just looking to play Half Life Alyx with a Ryzen 5 3600 :)

u/divinebaboon · 2 pointsr/Amd

the price went back up, sigh. 289 was a decent price for the blower.

On another note, the cooler on the xfx 5700 non-blower is similar to thicc ii which have had bad thermal issues, so presumably sales have been down so they reduced the price to 329, https://smile.amazon.com/XFX-1750MHz-Express-Graphics-RX-57XL8LBD6/dp/B07XVMXBQW , pretty decent deal.

I've gone with this for 1440/144hz, although I don't care if it hits that framerate too much in reality. Most games I play don't require it. I was just trying to go for a 1440p experience with the most value.

This XFX seems pretty overclockable and like enough, no?

u/ericjayy · 1 pointr/buildapc

No problem! Just make sure you use a tutorial and back up your bios to make sure your safe just in case anything happens! I suggest u get this 5700. It’s one of the best 5700 in my opinion (I have it) and it cools and performs like a beast. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07XVMXBQW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Av00DbD58SAKY

I was gonna get a 2060 super with the idea of it lasting 3 years. But I just saw this xfx 5700 for 300 dollars, a whole 100 bucks cheaper than 2060 super, but outperforms it. You think 5700 will do 200hz for competitive games and playable fps on triple a for three years?

edit: that 5700 deal just vanished rip

Blower

My understanding is that the way air flows through and out of the card is different in each of these cards.

Along with that the levels are slightly different from the phones and FX Send. (FX Send is slightly louder than main mix for some reason)

> What is the cheapest processor compatible with a motherboard that had an AMD Athlon II X4 640 in it? I'm trying to troubleshoot and repair a coworker's PC and I think the processor is dead. I tested the power supply, 11.2V on the 12v line was all that was really wrong with it at first glance, plugged the system into a new PSU and still wouldn't boot. It just powers up and sits with fans spinning. No post beeps or video output.

I just got this other 2 options:

https://www.amazon.es/MSI-Radeon-RX-5700-OC/dp/B07WCDFD2J/ref=olp_product_details?_encoding=UTF8&me= - for 379€

or

https://www.amazon.es/XFX-Radeon-5700-Boost-Ultra/dp/B07XVMXBQW/ - for 349€

Good options? What should I go for?

Or i should check any RTX 2060 price?

Like this one for 353€ - https://www.amazon.es/Gigabyte-Technology-GeForce-2060-GV-N2060OC-6GD/dp/B07MJGCPW5

Nvidia is likely to release new GPUs in the first half of 2020. The end of which Cyberpunk launches. Current ones will of course still be great, but if you're planning to mainly build this for that game I'd wait to actually be closer to release date.

If not...

Alternatively you can a AMD XFX RX 5700 video card for $329. Same performance pretty much, but $70 cheaper. Does not have Ray Tracing however, or Nvenc (for streaming to twitch etc). Also works better with more monitors that have FreeSync.

Did not include a monitor because it depends what you want. 144hz high refresh 1080p, or 1440p 75hz with better image quality. Running 1440p resolution will of course lower your frame rate somewhat, but you should still get 80+ FPS in modern games at close to max settings, and 120fps at 1080p.

I have a question :) When picking graphics cards, how do I know what "brand" is good? Saphire, XFX, Gigabyte, MSI, Asus, PowerColor.. there seems to be a huge range of pricing (up to $100 in price difference) in the cards, which is really confusing. Ive finally settled on the 5700 or the 2060 super but no clue which brand is best. I'd like to save as much as possible on this, but I also dont want to buy a shit version of the card :)

As an example.. Amazon has the 5700 from Powercolor for $289 and an XFX one for $349...
