You need a grip that handles front touch screen too. It's a little cheaper on Play Asia.

u/Xylobe · 8 pointsr/vita

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I really don't think a screen protector is necessary. I've had my Vita since 2012 and even after having dropped it more than a few times there's not so much as a scratch on it. As far as a case is concerned I definitely recommend getting a hard-shell one since the Vita's sticks are exposed unlike the 3DS'. This is the one I'm currently using, it's definitely bulky but it has plenty of room to hold 10 games plus the charging cable so I think that makes up for it. If you want to see how thick it is relative to a slim Vita let me know and I can take a picture.

u/Arietty_ · 5 pointsr/vita

Whatever you do, do NOT get this one.

The shipping date was fine because I ordered mine as the PS slim came out it was expected to be back ordered but not only did it smell HORRIBLE and it still does 2+ months later, but the card pockets are upside down, so they will fall out. Also, to top it all off, the inside of it picks up lint like you would not believe.

I hate to rage on the case so hard but there's not much I can say thats good. I hope this helps.

vita case

u/Carma-X · 4 pointsr/vita

So here is what i do... I have this (http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-Carrying-Case/dp/B00006IL3C) case, and i figured out that if you hold the vita so that the two flaps are pointing down, and then plug in the charging cable into its slot, and then lay that one something, usually my chest, then you basically have a makeshift stand thing that completely saved my hands. It takes all the pressure of holding it away and just lets you basically hit buttons. If you have the case try it, and if you dont it might be cheaper than a grip!

u/snookers · 4 pointsr/vita

You'll have to print your own art, but there's some nice templates out there. Have them printed at an office store like FedEx or somewhere with a nicer printer than what you have at home if you like.

Then pick up some blank cases! https://www.amazon.com/Empty-Standard-Replacement-Boxes-Cases-Playstation/dp/B00B5JIHKU

u/bssmark · 3 pointsr/vita

https://www.amazon.com/Smatree-Carrying-Without-Accessories-included/dp/B01B2FAWG8

It's really not that big at all. In the customer review section, go to "See all customer images" look at the last picture for a size reference. The Vita fits snugly in it. It's not overly hard like the plastic cases, it protects the console but the case has some give to it. It even has a little flap so you can pop the Vita out in a split second pretty much.

I love the thing, I go to a lot of doctor appointments and waiting in the pharmacy or something, when I bring it "whipping it out when idle" is exactly how I use it and it isn't unwieldy at all. Whatever you pick, good luck

u/clee290 · 3 pointsr/vita

You can buy some empty game cases and then print the cover.

u/Diogo319 · 3 pointsr/vita

I use this. It came with the Starter Pack and holds 8 Vita games cards and 2 memory cards.

u/ZeroVII · 3 pointsr/vita

I've had similar issues with a 32GB card. Lost around 30 hours of progress in SAO: Hollow Fragment as well as all my progress in Gravity Rush, WipeOut, and several other games. I've since started backing up games to the cloud, but it's disheartening when you lose so much progress.

As far as cases go, I use one of the hard shell cases with swappable art inserts Gamestop sold a few years ago for the OLED Vita. It has eight spots for Vita game carts and two spots for memory cards, which is pretty neat.

Here's the case: http://i.imgur.com/8hjMIyH.jpg

u/rrirk · 3 pointsr/vita
u/arcticfox00 · 3 pointsr/vita

I use one of [these cases.] I can fit one of those (could likely fit two), along with the Vita-USB cord, some earbuds, and the console itself, into the official Sony soft case.

u/AnimageCGF · 3 pointsr/vita

I have these:

https://www.amazon.com/Smatree-Carrying-PlayStation-Accessories-Included/dp/B01JUEWS4W/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1521750678&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=ps+vita+case&psc=1

https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Heavy-Duty-PlayStation-Vita-Sony-PS/dp/B00XK623WO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1521750723&sr=8-3&keywords=ps+vita+case

I use the second one when I'm out of the house, it's slim and will hold 3 games. The first one is mostly for home storage as it keeps my charger and vita headphones in the top. I don't keep games in it, but holds enough. The slim one is a tank and packs well in my bag.

u/EvolvingInsanity · 3 pointsr/vita

This case is pretty great. It can really protect the Vita. That, and it can hold eight games and two memory cards.

http://www.amazon.com/PSVita-Custom-Crystal-Sony-PS-Vita/dp/B006X0KBY6

u/BigOnAnime · 3 pointsr/vita

I use the CTA Digital case. I also have the official Sony Travel Pouch for keeping the 3 parts of the charger, though to fit the Vita in there with the brick and USB cable, I have to take the part that plugs into the electrical outlet (the figure 8 cable) out or else it's too tight of a fit. Also if you've got Sony's official external battery pack, that can fit where the bricks goes in the pics.

I also have the following 2 cases made by HORI which I'm not using atm. The blue I'm intending on using with the Aqua Blue slim I'm planning on getting in July so I have both the OLED and slim Vitas, and maybe sometime the pink one if I want to carry games as the blue one unfortunately doesn't hold any.

https://www.amazon.co.jp/dp/B0166G4ZKC

https://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B005WPFLO8 (Looks like this on the inside, my OLED Vita did move around a bit when I tested it out which some of the reviews pointed out if Google translate is to be trusted)

Planning on also getting this Smatree case for that Vita slim for holding the 3 parts of the charger and if I ever want to bring everything at once. According to reviews, all 3 parts will fit, but it'll be a bit of a tight fit.

u/FortunePaw · 3 pointsr/vita
u/stabbitystyle · 2 pointsr/vita

I ended up getting this one because I wanted one that could also hold the charging stuff. It works alright, though it's a snug fit to get the usb cable, ac cable, ac adapter, and game case all in the top compartment. Just keep the vita itself in the bottom compartment.

u/Stormcrow426 · 2 pointsr/vita

I use three things to protect my Vita: a case, screen protector, and silicone protector

u/CoffeePooPoo · 2 pointsr/vita

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-PCH-1000-Import-Sony-PS/dp/B00F34B6JW/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1407789195&sr=8-3&keywords=hori+ps+vita+case

I bought this instead. Excellent build quality, sadly no space for games or extra memory card but you're not going to get those with a pouch either.

u/MaevynBunny · 2 pointsr/vita

This is the case that I have. I adore it, and I scanned in one of the designs they give you and made it all Dark Souls. Holds a decent amount of cartridges, a couple of memory cards, and is a solid exterior.

u/mpmarsee · 2 pointsr/vita

Welcome to the club. :) Really glad to hear you're loving the Vita. Tell all your friends. :)

If you dig around through this sub some, you'll find that most people (myself included) love the CTA Digital case and others like it. It's very much protective enough and does exactly what I want from it. I have had my Vita for about 7 months now and still don't have any physical game cartridges so the case only having four game slots hasn't become an issue for me at all yet.

Edit: I do also have the official Sony Vita headset and keep it in the case with my Vita all the time. It's not bulky at all and fits perfectly.

I'm kinda boring, so I don't have anything hanging from the loop on my case. If you find anything awesome, please do share. :) Hopefully that helps!

u/owllady · 2 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

I know others use Gameboy cases for their MVP and stuff, there are also camera bags and accessories bags out there too. Here is a website for Vape Sox, they may fit your needs. http://vapesox.com/

You may look into getting an Altoids tin and seeing about getting foam and lining the tin with that for setting up your MVP on your desk. That seems like it might work.

You might be able to use the heat shrink wrap for your Protank but I have never heard of anyone wrapping their tanks for stopping breakage. The heat shrink wrap may be a good idea.

Edit: It looks like Vapesox is only for Ego type stuff. Check this kit thing out. It's on Amazon. It may fit? http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Universal-Travel-Electronics-Accessories/dp/B002VPE1QG/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1394474934&sr=8-1&keywords=amazon+basic+accessories+kit

This might even fit? http://www.amazon.com/Digital-PS-Vita-Travel-Protective-Sony/dp/B0073ESYZO/ref=sr_sp-btf_title_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1394475111&sr=8-4&keywords=accessories+travel+case

u/rube · 2 pointsr/vita

For a while I kept my Vita in a soft, slim slip case, just as I had for my PSP. But while the PSP would fit in my pocket when necessary, the Vita was a bit too bulky, and I'd be afraid of ruining the screen or the analog sticks.

Sure enough, I eventually got a small scratch on the screen so I put on a screen protector finally. Then I got a hard-shelled slim case so I can pocket it once again.

edit:

Here's the case I got (thanks to another Redditor posting it). It's simple, slim and protects it well. As others have said, it probably won't help much against big drops, but why the hell are you dropping it to begin with?! :)

http://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Power-Armor-Vita-Sony-PS/dp/B008J16BAU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1398184176&sr=8-1&keywords=vita+power+armor

Also, it has no storage for games, but as someone who has an all-digital collection, that doesn't bother me one bit.

u/Streetfoldsfive · 2 pointsr/vita

I have been using a Vita hard pouch for my 2000. I recomended to another fellow on here a while back and he's enjoying it as well. You can find it in numerous colors on some sites like Nippon Yassan. The case is protective and light. The inside is a soft material to protect it. No bells and whistles but does the job.

>As it stands now, buying a Vita, 16 GB memory stick (not even 32 GB!) protective case, and recently release game costs almost as much as a PS4.

Where are you getting these figures?

Lego batman Vita for $200...been this price for weeks

Best buy just had a long running sale for the 16 GB memory cards for $30. Target and Walmart have been running a clearance on 8GB cards at $10-$15 for the last month....not the best deal and you might have to swap cards here and there but still

PS vita case for $8.34

PS vita case for $13.18

A new game will run you $35-$40. So if you want to run everything brand new, system + card + a game is around $300. Still $100 less than a ps4

If you look for deals you can always find a good price, I paid $170 for a brand new 3g/wifi Vita with an 8g memory card.

u/Nefarious-Tuna · 2 pointsr/vita

While this case isn't a hard pouch, it is one of the slimmest case you can buy and your vita won't move around in it.

u/psicat76 · 2 pointsr/vita

As others have said in the long run you would be better off with a 32GB card if you don't mind spending a little extra. As for recommendations, personally I like:

There's probably not much you can do repair-wise. You can contact sony about it and they'll probably replace it for a huge fee (probably over $100). The problem is that it's a touch screen and it's probably connected to a digitizer.

I bought a screen protector and a case to prevent stuff like this from happening.

You can fit lots of games in and I like that theres a zip pouch for your charging cable too. Fit is nice and snug and the case seems rigid and protective enough.

hey maybe you could check this case out http://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-metallic-protection-Playstation-VITA-Cleaning/dp/B0078J0O34/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1416281991&sr=8-2&keywords=ps+vita+hard+case i have it on my vita and it feels pretty sturdy, i'm sure it could survive a fall in it and it comes in different colors! and you should also check this one out too http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-PlayStation-Vita-Officially-Sony-PS/dp/B00BI9MDSO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1416281991&sr=8-1&keywords=ps+vita+hard+case both of these are for the ps vita 1000 though the OLED model, i haven't really seen many hard cases for the ps vita slim though. edit: i found this hard case for the ps vita 2000 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aluminum-Hard-Guard-Protector-Cover-Case-for-Sony-PS-Vita2000-/360916978790?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5408540c66

I use this case. It's not very small but on the plus side it has room for the charger and 10 games. I dont usually bring the charger so I put some earbuds and a microfiber cloth instead. It's served me well since February.

Go with the hard case!

I picked up this one.. https://www.amazon.com/Smatree-Carrying-Without-Accessories-included/dp/B01B2FAWG8 .. and don't regret it for a minute.. I've dropped my Vita Slim 3 times in the past six months.. twice this past Friday from about 3 or 4 feet onto concrete.. first in a parking garage and then in a warehouse.. without any damage to my Vita.. it's simply the best $12 or $13 I've spent in years.

I got this carrying case:
Smatree P100L Carrying Case for PS Vita 1000, PSV 2000 with Cover https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JUEWS4W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_XJCA2HODEoweR

And these game cases:
Nyko Game Case for Vita - PlayStation Vita https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007AJZ5PY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_CGRuzbX81BKWE

And this case to put on the Vita:
http://www.walmart.com/ip/KMD-Crystal-Case-Clear-PS-Vita-PS-Vita/21692780

The carrying case fits my Vita with the clear case on plus 3 of the game cases (just managed to fit the third case).

u/B1G5L1M · 2 pointsr/vita

This one from Amazon is actually a really decent case. I was skeptical myself, but ended up buying a second one for my other Vita. They have a larger model as well if you have one of those silicone sleeve jobs on your console. Fits the Vita perfectly snug on one half of the clamshell, and enough room for your wall plug & USB cable (2000 series)
Might be pretty tight if you have a 1000 series Vita and the chunky charging block.

They sell on eBay also if Amazon isn't your thing.

u/applekwisp · 2 pointsr/vita

I carry mine to college all the time. Along with my macbook, android, graphing/scientific calc, etc. I even keep in in the very back compartment of my bag where it likely the least protected. I have it in a hard case of course so I'm not even the least bit worried about it. I think you're just going to have to get a case and suck it up. As someone else said the safest place it can be is with you. If you are okay with carrying even one of the items I mentioned your vita will be fine.

I use: http://www.amazon.com/dreamGEAR-Case-Bundle-PlayStation-model-PCH-1000/dp/B0072LGI42/ref=zg_bs_3010609011_22. Even comes with a game case, which while not amazing (it's awful), will still hold 8 games inside the box.

u/Suko_PSN · 2 pointsr/vita

I have 2 cases.

  • The Official PS Vita 2000 case which I absolutely love. It fits snugly on my Vita. Was a little hard to get used to putting it in the case, but the official one is my favorite.

  • The "Official" licensed vita case which has a nice soft interior lining, but I always worry about my analog stick getting pressed down all the time...

I ordered it anyways even though i didn't need it since my imported Neon Orange PS Vita came with a screen protector.

u/M3YARI · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

What about this one?

u/LOT7 · 2 pointsr/vita

I haven't really seen a card case without slots for a memory cards but, those slots are so small that they dont take up much space, what I have and recommend is this:

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-Card-Case/dp/B006JKARPS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1451241762&sr=8-1&keywords=ps+vita+card+case

It's the official card case from sony and you can probably find one cheap on ebay. (I found mine for around $4) Another crazy idea if your dead set on having no memory card slots is to buy singles:

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/4pcs-lot-Black-Game-Cards-Storage-Case-Bag-for-Sony-PS-Vita/32247420812.html?spm=2114.01020208.3.194.ETLmB5&ws_ab_test=searchweb201556_1,searchweb201644_3_79_78_77_82_80_62_81,searchweb201560_4

Maybe you could glue these together or store them all in a bag or something. Anyway sorry I couldn't be of any more help to you, good luck in searching.

u/Treestanding · 2 pointsr/vita

Man the way that kid holds that case makes it look huuuuge. Do you have any pics to see how big it actually is? I have this one and I wish it was a bit smaller. Looking for something snug.

u/sloppycrap · 2 pointsr/vita

I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005WG2WRQ/ I like it. That line across the front is a zippered pocket that I never use.

There's a tag on the back that says SHISHIKUIYA

u/Zerostatic · 2 pointsr/vita

My favorite accessories have been:
Charging cradle. It makes pick up and play so convenient.
Hardcase I wanted a slim hard case and I got one supercheap on amazon. Check it out: [cheap case] (http://www.amazon.com/Digital-PS-Vita-Travel-Protective-Sony/dp/B0073ESYZO/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1347639031&sr=1-1-fkmr0&keywords=EVA+Carrying+Protective+Travel+Case+for+Playstation+PS+VITA+-+Blac)
32GB memory card - I know they're pricy but having my entire collection on the go makes it worth it.

u/forthisisme · 2 pointsr/vita

So here are a few options for you using amazon:

Sony Vault Case for 2000 model. Even though it says "Amazon Basics" it really is just the same vault case that was sold as the 1st party case with the Sony Logo on it. This one should have the logo too.

Sony PS Vita 1000 Carrying Case. First party but only for the 1000 model and kinda awkward.

Sony PS Vita Travel Pouch - 1000/2000 Models fit. I had the Japanese white version of this pouch. Good fit and plushiness.

There was also this Sony PS Vita hard case that was given out around launch and hard to find unless someone doesn't want theirs but for you, you never mentioned what model you have so I'd suggest the pouch as the most versatile.

u/SlobberyCargo · 2 pointsr/vita

I bought everything off of amazon. as far as i can tell, only the memory card and the screen protector came from japan. However i got everything within a week with standard shipping. here's all the links for

travel case
screen protector

u/ZeroHasNoLimits · 2 pointsr/vita

I'm using this as a carrying case. Anyone know where to get good skins for the Vita 2000?

u/holysocks · 2 pointsr/vita

i got these. They're all basic, cheap, does the job - protector, case, earphones

u/MerryDingoes · 2 pointsr/vita

I got this case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06Y64N4DY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's great because of the extra hand strap and pocket where I can store the cables. The carrying case couldn't be any better.

I can't test how well the water-proof works. I'll try it some time this week and will let you know.

u/Majavis · 2 pointsr/vita

I use the Smatree case. Not as low-pro as the other two suggestions on here, but not too bulky in my opinion--guess it depends on how you are transporting it. It can hold 10 game cards and in the inner zipper pouch I have: earbuds, charging cable, and both cigarette lighter adapter and wall plug adapter in there. It's not a hard case, but it's semi-hard so would help protect against drops a bit, and does allow you to carry a bit more with you, if that's needed.

u/kingvicarious · 2 pointsr/vita

I bought this on Amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B005WG2WRQ

And it's wonderful. It fits the Slim Vita like a glove and should fit the original vita as well. It has a very deep, concealed zipper pocket in the front so you can store your games or headphones. It's the Japanese Vita sleeve so it looks a little nicer than the ones you can find in North America (in my opinion at least, the Japanese one has a much bigger pouch and sleeker design.)

u/Unistic · 2 pointsr/deadbydaylight

I have two differebt grips. One that has l2/r2 on the front and back to help with what ever gane uses those touch screen sections.

Then another one that has an l2/r2 and l3/r3 all on the back.

I also brought some extenderds for the analog sticks cause i have big hands and they help with targeting in Destiny and other shooters.

Heres links to what I use:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01ERA94BY?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N16NN2R?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00XXSONHM?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title

Fyi: these grips work only for the ps vita slim versions.

u/404_UserNotFound · 2 pointsr/vita

I use a generic, CTA Digital Amazon Link $10, that has held up great. It has plenty of storage, I have 2 cards in each of the slot along with some othe misc travel things.

u/pixltigr · 2 pointsr/EmulationOnAndroid

I use this, except I snapped off the goofy plastic paw print analog covers and replaced them with a couple of these. Super easy mod, and the pad fits my S8 Plus very well in both portrait and landscape mode.

It probably doesn't fit your criteria but I got this one and it works well enough.

Luckily I ended up with 2 of them since one got lost in the mail so they gave me a refund and shipped a new one then the original one showed up a few days later and they told me to keep it so I can use it for whatever.

I got this Hori bundle for my Vita a while back, and I love it so far: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00L6AVNE0/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1453765743&sr=8-2&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=ps+vita+hori+case&dpPl=1&dpID=51PqIB4QuoL&ref=plSrch

But holy cow, it did NOT cost this much when I bought it. I think it was in the $20 range when I bought it. I can't attest for any other cases, but I really like the hard pouch this bundle came with.

You can purchase it by itself here: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00F34B6JW/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1453765792&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=ps+vita+hori+case&dpPl=1&dpID=51VDNXHbqhL&ref=plSrch

I don't know if it will fit in your pocket, but the case itself only fits the vita, so I thought it wasn't bulky.

This is the case I own, and the value of the starter pack is amazing. The pouch itself sells for $30 USD on Amazon and the starter pack is $20.

I've been using this Nyko case for two years now and it's very sturdy. It's a hard metal shell with some soft lining on the inside. I've used it for travel, kept it in my pocket, and dropped it, and it holds up well. The only drawbacks are you can't put any shells/covers on the Vita, and there's no space for anything else, just the handheld. I use Switch PowerA game cases for my games (almost the exact same size so they fit snugly).

What you want is a pouch or sleeve. I would recommend something like the old PSP sleeve/pouch that came with the PSP phat. At least material wise. As thin as possible isn't a good idea, you want some thickness to absorb the shock the Vita will get from jiggling and to not scratch the screens on either side. I tried using my old PSP pouch on my Vita 1k, but it was too wide. I believe the slim will be as well.

I suggest getting something where the material is soft on the inside and sturdy on the outside. Although if you're placing your vita where it wont get smushed or smashed by yourself or any outside force, then go for it. That's a good pouch. I've seen similar for $6 on amazon.

This one isn't that bad.

u/thequirts · 1 pointr/vita

In general, having a protective case for travel is hugely beneficial, for both the vita's safety and your peace of mind on the go. Something like this.

Depending on what games you play, you may still need a decently sized memory card for the patches. The cases I use are:

u/GrabberOrange · 1 pointr/vita

I've had a couple, the Smatree is one of the best. Holds Vita nice and snug, with a convenient pull string to get it out. Zippered inside section holds 6 foot charging cable, earbuds and screen cloth. 10 games in the separator.
The outside is a nice canvas material that is really durable and easy to clean.

I use a Nyko case, it's super thin. So I can carry it in my pocket without having to worry about my Vita scratching. It's perfectly safe inside my backpack also. It's definitely not the most protective case if I dropped it(don't ever plan on dropping it though so it's okay).

u/Th4Freak · 1 pointr/vita
u/BleuberryCream · 1 pointr/vita

I don't. Even with my DS I keep my games at home with 1-2 on me if I take it out. I never saw the point in carrying more than 4 games (or your enjoy collection of games) with you each time you leave. My Vita largely has all the games I really really love to play already downloaded onto it (or at least a game that will scratch an itch).

I do have this case and it has 3 games in it and my 4GB memory card (that is wasting away...)

u/monkey484 · 1 pointr/vita

I had this one but have managed to lose it and the games that were in it. :(

Nice case though. Room for the system, multiple game carts, charger and ear buds.

u/Fauxy · 1 pointr/vita

I have this grip I got in a cheap bundle on amazon. insten always has the deals on cheap accessories. It's decent for the price but not very sturdy at all. It feels like the partitions that go over the triggers could snap extremely easily. I only use the case when I know I'm going to be gaming for hours to keep my hands from cramping up. Still, that $7 deal op posted that comes with a charger is so tempting I might buy this all over again. If anyone is looking for a case with a little more protection, here's what I use most of the time: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0078J0O34/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i7fhAbJED38N4

Congrats! Vita is a great machine with a HUGE catalog.

I like this case and this card holder, which fits nicely inside.

u/Gundato · 1 pointr/vita

As mentioned: Just have a case of some form.

Even if you get a screen protector, you should put it in the case since there are the buttons and what not.

I grabbed one of these http://smile.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-Carrying-Case/dp/B00006IL3C/ and it is more than sufficient (and even fits the Vita with my grips on after a very minor mod that just involved cutting off the hooks). Front screen is protected, rear screen is protected, and the face is protected. Theoretically the L1 and R1 buttons are exposed (as is the side), but any other solution would require me to remove the grips which is more hassle than a few scratches are worth (in my eyes).

Mostly I just keep it in a drawer at my desk, but when traveling for more than a day at a time I just throw it in my backpack (in a compartment that is basically full of chargers and what not) and there is no damage at all, so it seems sufficient.

u/chouettechouette · 1 pointr/ffxiv

i can totally relate. i don't have the guts to simply shove it in my pocket like every other gadget because of the dual sticks. this one seems to be the slimmiest ever. i've been eyeballing it for some time now, but have no money to buy it yet.

u/gardobus · 1 pointr/vita

I've read plenty of reviews/posts from people with the PDP trigger grip that don't really like it. Some say the triggers are mushy, some say that the case scratches the triggers, etc.

I picked up this cheapy from Amazon and I love it. I sometimes with it had longer handles like this CTA grip but at the same time, that would prevent it from fitting in side the case I use. That CTA one also blocks the charge port so long gaming sessions require removing the case or charge breaks.

I highly recommend the cheap grip, you can't really go wrong for <$5. The worst thing about it is that it isn't very grippy, otherwise it does it's job. Check out the reviews on Amazon too.

That's what I use. Great value for the money. The case is very tough, has a little mesh pocket thingy and card holder that holds 8 cartridges and two memory cards. It has two elastics intended to hold the vita down, but if you put the vita on top of the elastics, you get extra shock protection and extra space to fit a USB cable.

Not very fancy or sleek, but I like it!

Those are the only accessories I bought for the Vita, and in my opinion they're all you need. I put the skin and screen protector on to prevent against scratches, put the hard shell on over that for extra protection and asthetics, and the travel case for when I'm not using it. They all fit together well and are not bulky at all. I was surprised.

Make sure you buy the ones appropriate for your model (1000 vs 2000)...

I use this to hold all of my cartridges and it works wonderfully without any potential for damage to the games. As far as carrying cases go, it's probably not a huge deal which you get as long as they hold it and what you want.

u/Mr_Career_Day · 1 pointr/vita

I'm using a CTA Travel Case, which is more than adequate thus far. It holds four Vita games and has a small pocket for headphones or extremely small accessories. It fits the Vita snugly, ensuring it won't slide around or move the analog sticks excessively.

If you ever decide to buy a Slim model, it has straps that'll hold it in place, so it's technically a universal Vita case.

It's much smaller than most handheld travel cases I've had, which is great because I can store it in the front pocket of my laptop bag with room to spare.

A big plus is there's no obvious branding indicating expensive electronics.

Cheap and reliable, had the same one on it for years now.

From my experience these are the best bang for your buck, not amazingly pretty but the vita isn't really a pretty looking console to begin with.

I am not linking the Hori case because it's awkward and shitty. I have no idea why they chose to leave it entirely hard plastic but the hinges wore down in about 1 month of heavy use.

Edit: I know the products I listed are either not available or the price went up, but you get the point.

I have the CTA Digital case and it works great for me. I can fit my Vita, a pair of earbuds, and extra game cartridges (though 95% of my games are digital.) I can also fit the USB cable along with the adapter that lets me charge the Vita from any USB port or charger. (You can't fit the full Vita charger with power brick, though.) The case is fairly durable and I have no fear throwing my Vita in a backpack inside the case.

The only downside is that I can't fit my Vita grip in the case, so I usually don't bring it with me out of the house unless I'm going on a longer trip where I expect to play a lot. Would highly recommend that grip if you have a Vita 1000 though--for $4 shipped you can't go wrong!
