Don't forget they're relatively cheap. You can get one for less than $100 including a ball.

You mean this court?

I'm sure he bankrupted the country by painting lines on a tennis court and installing a basketball hoop. Oh, yeah they cost millions. http://www.amazon.com/Lifetime-Complete-Portable-Basketball-Backboard/dp/B001NIZL7U/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1344705185&sr=8-5&keywords=basketball+hoop

> just checked eBay

Don't do that then. Herbalizestore.co.uk £51.29 with the code VAPOSPY5 or £52.99 from puffpuffpalace

Prof single flame torch £2.94 each, buy 2 because you always want a backup

Newport 300ml purified butane 2 tins for £4.89, probably last you a year (I use mine daily and they lasted just over)

That's £62 total, shop smarter!

I like the sound a chain net makes when you you swish it, but I think a lot of public places dont use them as a liability... could rip a finger in one of those pretty easy if it got caught wrong.
These nets would be a good solution - other than the swish sound :/...

Oy from Stephen King's "The Dark Tower" series. He is the most innocent, loyal and dear friend you could ever ask to have.

Welcome back and thanks for the contest! I just bought a new house with a basketball hoop, but no net - so here's this. :D

u/MoravianPrince · 3 pointsr/worldnews

Not to sound racist, but did you already thought about investing in a basketball hoop?

And how would we even know that? He probably got on TV talking about it.

It would have cost less of my money to simply use a correctional officer's already on-the-clock time, give him or her a socket wrench and taken down the hoop off of the back board and stored them (free).

I'm guessing, but there were probably 10 hoops "owned" by Judd in the county jail(s). He could have shipped 10 churches 10 NEW hoops (with a net) [for $250 shipped,] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00410Z1YK/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1463064903&sr=1-2&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=Replacement+hoop&dpPl=1&dpID=41H6pOgWr3L&ref=plSrch) and supported amazon, who has a fulfillment center in polk County.

Do you start to see the point? These things just to get attention...

FWIW, I don't care if some inmates (jail (as opposed to prision) is for holding and misdemeanors, so less than a year) play some hoops. Most of these people are not hardened criminals. What I don't want is them to have a lot of time to sit around and talk about how to become better criminals.

Edit and PS: I hope they were an assortment of non-profits and not just churches. Boys and Girls Clubs are designed to steer potentially high-risk children towards productive lives. Children that already attend church regularly are already less likely to commit crimes that will line them up in the criminal justice system.

Not making you go anywhere. The SOTA poles can be ordered online here:

https://www.sotabeams.co.uk/telescopic-masts-sotapoles-7m-and-10m/

They will send you the pole to your address via Royal Mail/courier service.

The parasol screw base I use is this one:

I know that some others use this water-filled one on their rooftops/terraces:

Hope this helps!

NB: I'm not affiliated with the sellers in any way.

For the nominal cost of a sheet of poly and an hour of DIY repair VS the cost of buying a new hoop this isn't a terrible deal.

I'm not in the market for a BB hoop, but if I was and saw this one I'd buy it and fix it up.

...that said, I'm pretty decent with my hands/tools, so a minor thing like installing a sheet of poly wouldn't really put me out much.

EDIT-

It would also be pretty easy to just use a sheet of plywood to repair it.

Really, a simple repair job.

A hoop like that can cost around $200-$300 new.

For the less skilled, a replacement backboard/rim costs around $80

I've heard of Paper Ya, but Granville Island is not somewhere I usually go. It's a little out of the way, transit-wise. I'll be sure to go if I'm in the area!

I know Charals also sells Lamy Safaris for $5 cheaper than the Vancouver Pen Shop. (However, Waterman ink is cheaper at VPS.) There are even cheaper Safari options on Amazon, but from the reviews, I get the impression that at least half are fakes. I have something planned, and will post it soon. Probably once my Amazon pencil case comes in.

Your Eco is stunning. 🤩 Awesome colour choice, and I love the matching figurine. The coral Eco looks exciting too! Here's the pencil case I bought just in case the coral is tooooo appealing and you need to keep it with your first one.

Thanks! You're totally right about the lamps. There is a lamp on my desk, it's just no visible in the photos. It's this one from Tomons. I was thinking about getting their nightstand lamp, but I think it doesn't fit with the rest of my room.

As for flipping sofa and tv, this was how the room was set up when I moved in. It works, but it just looks crammed that way.

I would like to buy one of those mini basketball hoops that you hang over your door and build a stand for it. Make it look like a regular size hoop, maybe 4 ft or so above the ground. So basically take this and build a stand for it so it looks like this (just a smaller version). Any tips on how to do this?

I was thinking about using one of these ground anchor spikes to secure a pole and use it for banded pulls. Any ideas on if this would be secure enough?

u/Jamb0rin0 · 1 pointr/DJISpark

I'd be careful adding any additional weight on, even 10g will take the flight time down a fair bit.

This one is £15 - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingwon-Quadcopter-Helicopter-Easy-fold-Accessories/dp/B01N2XPX8K/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1497973375&sr=8-3&keywords=drone+landing+pad

Does the job perfectly and the Spark loves it!

If you can mount something to the house would be ideal provided you can get it up high.

Taking some halogen or LED worklights and attaching them to a large tree using ratcheting straps is also an idea. Just make sure that you don't do it too tight so you don't hurt the tree.

A basketball net.

Kind of the same deal, slows the ball down a little, returns it to play. Keeps it from going everywhere and having to chase it off the court. Also lets you know definitively that someone scored.
