I've been looking for this too! I've made the switch to all USB electronics. I haven't found exactly a USB trimmer, but I have found a workaround. I ordered this Wahl Trimmer. It takes one AA battery, and it's very compact and lightweight. It trims reasonably well also, although it does take a little longer to get a neat trim. I will say it doesn't feel super sturdy, but it has held up well for about a year now with regular, weekly use. I did have to open it up once and adjust the motor when I dropped it in the sink by accident, but that was easy to do.

So that has worked as a pretty nice travel trimmer for me. Of course it isn't USB, but I found these EcoCell USB AA Batteries. They're just AA batteries that have a USB plug, so you can recharge them on a regular USB charger. Since the trimmer only takes one battery at a time, it's easy to keep a charged one in my bag and use the trimmer until the battery dies. Then I put in the new battery and charge the previous one so it's ready for later.

The setup has worked very well for me. And it's actually even better in a way, because I've noticed that these batteries give a more consistent power output. They don't make the motor slowly run out before dying, they seem to work at basically full power and then stop suddenly.

I think I found the same trimmer on Amazon UK here. I imagine you could try this with any trimmer that takes AA batteries though if you prefer a more robust model. I just liked how lightweight this one is. I'm not sure about getting the USB batteries in the UK though... Maybe you could try something like these?

All Purpose Gillette Styler (under $20 on amazon) -- For me, it easily replaced all other razors, shavers, and trimmers I had previously used. Gets a close trim, weighs practically nothing, is smaller than a hot dog, and takes a single replaceable AA battery, which can last me about 4-6 months of weekly use. I've had mine since 2016 and it continues to serve me well.

I only got a Philips Trimmer which I actually wanted and seemed like a decent product at that price.

Everything else was just....not in my interest.

Best part is, I knew I was getting it for this price in Amazon, and I said fuck it and bought from Flipkart anyway, despite the fact that I like Amazon more.

u/Znuff · 7 pointsr/sex

I got myself a http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-QT4015-23-Stubble-Trimmer/dp/B00AF4LS7U

It does the job. I use it at 0.5mm (the lowest setting).

u/readwritelife · 6 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I use a men's beard trimmer. Pink tax is huge on these types of things. You won't necessarily get as close a shave as with a razor, but they work for keeping things neat and tidy, or shortening the hair enough to make razor shaving easier.

That really depends on what type of shaver you are looking for. If you are looking for a beard/mustache trimmer, Braun Cruzer 6 Beard & Head Trimmer. If you are looking for a set of hair clippers, I would go with a Wahl Professional 8290.
If you are looking for a foil shaver, I would go with a Panasonic ES7035SC Triple Blade Pro-Curve Wet/Dry, or the Panasonic ES-SA40-K Pro Curve Wet/Dry Shaver If you are looking for a portable shaver for the gym or car, I like the Braun M90 Mobile Shaver. If you are looking for a rotary shaver, I would try either the Philips Norelco PT730 PowerTouch if you need a built in flip up trimmer, and a Philips Norelco PT720 PowerTouch if you do not.
Someone suggested the iStubble from Conair. I would not get this, unless you want to replace the unit after 18 months or so. I have never had luck with Conair products, and I know no cosmetologists who recommend them either. I have actually asked them when I was looking for a set of clippers. The all said Wahl Professional, unless I wanted to spend some serious money.

u/edwardmolasses · 5 pointsr/onebag

this travel sized Wahl is what i use. Nice and small. It doesn't work well with half used batteries, but I have some rechargeable Ikea AAs, and usually use it after full charge. I figure when i travel i'll just get new batteries wherever i happen to be. I just use it to trim down a bit, definitely not for a close shave.

At the risk of sounding like Wahl marketing, i also have their nose hair trimmer which is also really small and has a pretty solid metal body.

Both together take up very little space.

Literally any store ever that has male grooming supplies. Here is a trimmer set for males at Amazon and here is the scissors

u/koottravel · 3 pointsr/onebag

The Surpent Beard Trimmer. I will keep preaching this damn thing until it catches on. I've had mine for nearly 3 years now and it still works like new. It's USB chargeable, can be used while plugged in, battery last ages on a single charge, only has one adjustable part and with good lengths. I use this for my beard, to cut my head hair, and trim everywhere else. It's light enough and absolutely perfect for me.

u/cgalv · 3 pointsr/AskMen

Friendly tip: you can shorten links to specific products on amazon by using the following syntax:

www.amazon.com/dp/B000VKV29M

Go ahead, try it. That string that starts with a 'B' is a unique catalog ID that every item on sale at Amazon has

u/GornoP · 3 pointsr/AskMen

As a man who usually wears a short beard, but is presently seeing how long I can grow it before I'm forced to shave it off, I'm going to weigh in...

I went through a couple of high $$ trimmers, finding something about each that either didn't work up to my expectations or -- more often -- some semi critical piece that snapped off if I breathed on it.

I got sick of spending that much money on shit that was breaking and picked up one of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-ER2403K-Moustache-Beard-Trimmer/dp/B000VKV29M/ref=pd_bia_nav_t_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1GN3FPVKA744HY2TAZWE

And... It's a trooper. Not so many length options, but how many do you really need? And I've dropped it plenty of times, still trucking. It's not rechargeable, but I kind of like that as I can know for certain if it's not working because the batteries are dead (by putting in new ones) or if the motor is broken. (One of my previous ones stopped holding its charge, which was super annoying.)

What A Bargain For Me! is what I say.

u/abarinov · 3 pointsr/onebag

Yes, its one of the smallest. There are alternatives from Braun, Philips and Remington as well.

Being a user of above-mentioned Braun myself I would strongly advise you against buying one of these devices. The fundamental problem is AAA battery is unable to provide enough power for decent trimming. Even with a new battery it chokes on thicker hair, pulls hair and requires many passes to trim every hair that needs to be trimmed. An exercise of patience rather than trimming to be honest. Mind it, my hair is pretty thin.

To improve my currently unpleasant on-the-go hair trimming process I'm thinking either of powering my Braun from microusb to provide enough juice (might burn its motor but at $10 apiece I'm ready to experiment) or buying this Philips trimmer as its powered by AA battery and theoretically should be more powerful. Will post an update as soon as I get any decent results.

Get a groomer like this and trim it over the toilet for easy cleanup. http://www.amazon.com/Wahl-5640-600-Groomsman-Personal-Trimmer/dp/B003TW70E0

u/Tidley_Wink · 3 pointsr/frugalmalefashion

I just bought this one. It's waterproof with lithium ion batteries. I got tired of cleaning stubble off the sink, so now I shave in the shower. Also had to buy a shower mirror. The trimmer is fine, pretty basic, as good as the other relatively inexpensive trimmers I've purchased. The lithium ion batteries are great so far, and shaving in the shower is so much easier.

EDIT: The only shitty thing is all the guides are one size clip-on only (no single adjustable guide, which I prefer).

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D8S8SGE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Comes with guards from .5mm up to a couple millimeters. I use for my face and balls. Highly recommend. I trim every couple of days to 1.5mm.

u/ppatra · 2 pointsr/india

Yepp, I have this model: https://www.amazon.in/dp/B00CE3FT66/

The self sharpening thing is how this trimmers work, they run against a metal underneath while trimming, same as how knives and scissors are sharpened.

u/duttymong · 2 pointsr/malehairadvice

I've been through a few beard trimmers and this one is my latest.

So far so good. The battery is pretty great, 1 hour charge for 1 hour use! I've not had to charge it yet. The shaving comb is also quite nice on the face compared to the Babylis sharp pointy one I used previously.

u/317530336045991171 · 2 pointsr/AskRedditAfterDark

I think this is it...but look for any shaver with changeable heads (foil, mini shaver)

to do the egg rolls, use something like this....it's not fast but much safer

u/SNOWLIZARD · 2 pointsr/BuyItForLife

i use what my barber uses, (not for the head, he uses a big one, he uses this for beards, sides and necks. i use for beards, sides and deez nuts) had it 4 years and it keeps working, ive dropped it, got it wet (not submerged) its sharp, never catches and cuts easy. will it last for life? so far so good, and its not even that costly.

Maintaining revs? Do you mean a rotary razor or something? I have a very cheap shaver ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00014TDLM/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1413683306&sr=8-2&pi=SL75 ) which cuts through my thick stubble fine

u/iseeyoutroll · 2 pointsr/malefashionadvice

Try a Braun trimmer. I have sensitive skin, so shaving was a real pain, but I got this trimmer and shaving is now easy and enjoyable.

I really think shaving would do a lot to improve your look--your beard isn't full enough to look great.

u/plaid-knight · 2 pointsr/onebag

I just picked up a Suprent beard trimmer. It charges with micro USB and is pretty light. I don’t need a clean shave, so I’m gonna use its edger to shave my neck. I tried that for the first time today and it works fine. Results in something that looks like a day’s growth. Haven’t tested it as a trimmer yet.

u/Zephyr4813 · 2 pointsr/malegrooming

Also, I don't know where I can use the trimmer with a cord in college dorms. It seems like its something I should do in the bathroom and there is only one outlet by the sink. None in stalls or shower.

Any suggestions?

Also, how does this trimmer look? http://www.amazon.com/Philips-Norelco-QT4014-42-Stubble/dp/B00ARF44O6/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top#productDetails

I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the Gillette Fusion Proglide Styler.

  1. Extremely tiny/light. (120g with battery i believe)
  2. 3 combs (2mm, 4mm, 6mm) OR no comb for stubble
  3. Runs on single AA battery. And lasts for about a month easily. I switched my battery after 3 months.
  4. Only costs $20 or so., but from a huge brand.
  5. Strong cutting ability. Enough for you to maintain a buzzcut.

The only (tiny) con for me is it doesn't give a clean shave unless I use the shaver attachment. It would have been nice to use it without the comb and get a clean shave.

I found these two from Wahl, but I can't understand if they are the same product or different. They looks different, but same name:

Wahl Pocket 01

Wahl Pocket 02

u/Mister_Squishy · 1 pointr/myfriendwantstoknow

Would also recommend trimming, almost exclusively. I rarely use a razor at all, except for a little fine tuning. Benefits of trimming vs. a razor include not looking like a little boy, not having to worry about razor burn or ingrown hairs, and there's a margin of error which is nice to have when handling sharp objects around your junk. Additionally, I can tell you that no girl wants to feel your cock stubble scraping and stabbing her labia.

Personally, I really like the Norelco QT4014. Don't spring for the shittier and more expensive models. They don't have titanium blades and there are not as many length settings and they're also not as precise. I usually do a 2.5-3.

u/Jeremymia · 1 pointr/NoStupidQuestions

I use a product like this: https://www.amazon.com/Trimmer-Powerful-Suction-Stubble-Clipping/dp/B07SML5536/ref=sr_1_16?keywords=trimmer+vacuum&qid=1571505380&sr=8-16

It has a vacuum so the hair gets sucked into a compartment. Obviously it's only a trimmer so it won't remove hair completely but it might help. Also I only use it for my face but why wouldn't it work for everything? The only problem is you have to empty the hair pretty often, like I do it 4 or 5 times when I trim my face after a few days of stubble.

This isn't the one I use but I can't find the one I use in my order history for some reason. You can search around for the best one.

u/shhh-sippytime · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

Wahl 8900. My dad has had one of these for 15 to 20 years and not only it is still kicking, but it performs just as well as the day he bought it. Before I moved out on my own, I asked for a beard trimmer like that, and I was gifted this one. The one I got came with an adjustable length guide for the blade. I absolutely love it, and would recommend it to anyone.

u/Nykid99 · 1 pointr/AskMen

I use a beard trimmer like this. I use it on the lowest setting. Then I'll take it off the setting and clear above my dick. But I need to use my a setting where I trim my balls it's too risky.

u/Meximelty · 1 pointr/onebag

I guess it really depends on how long your beard is. I just bought this little guy Philips Norelco GoStyler FS9185/49 - face styler, precision contour trimmer, beard edging https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QYOSKFS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jpDOCb1A9027D

It got a foil for getting the cheeks And under the nose for cleaning up the mustache. It has three guards for varying degrees of “beard” if you keep a fairly close beard. It is super small ish. But yes battery powered.

u/bpe9 · 1 pointr/Accutane

Not OP but I'm a guy on accutane, found stubble trimmers work the best (minimal irritation). I got this one: https://www.amazon.com/ConairMAN-Ultimate-Flexhead-Razor-Sharp-Technology/dp/B00ZVBPOZE?th=1 its expensive but one of there most recommended. Else an electric shaver, you will get far less irritation than a standard razor

u/afoggynotion · 1 pointr/onebag

I think adding yet another "have to plug it in" thing is annoying, so I'd recommend this AA powered one:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wahl-9906-2017-Groomsman-Battery-Moustache/dp/B00014TDLC/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1501796763&sr=8-4&keywords=electric+trimmer

Battery lasts for a very, very long time.

u/tenavosi · 1 pointr/amiugly

It can make a surprising difference. When my husband shaves he uses a small trimmer to get the eyebrow hair outliers. He'd never have the patience to pluck it all or anything. He has to shave some hair off his ears, trim nose hair, etc. and he just tacks that onto what he does. Just takes a few seconds really. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/Micro-Groomsman-Personal-Trimmer-5640-600/dp/B003TW70E0/ref=zg_bs_234951011_6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=XH05J9B1JHXKYCZE4836

u/Kordian · 1 pointr/italy

u/twostorysolutions · 1 pointr/amiugly

Thanks man. And as for you, you're a damn good looking kid. You probably heard ugly from a girl who thought you were out of her league and she did it as a defense mechanism.

My facial hair wasn't like 'facial hair' until I was 24 or so. I had your level of facial hair at roughly 20, so probably earlier for you. Even today, it's a bit patchy, and likely always will be. Keep your facial hair at stubble. The length you have it at picture #3 is pretty good, seemingly. Buy a trimmer like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Philips-Norelco-BeardTrimmer-adjustable-QT4014/dp/B00ARF44O6/ref=pd_sim_sbs_121_5?ie=UTF8&dpID=31CwCRJHxOL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&psc=1&refRID=5H3917CFHEBY0SNKG65G

All this said: you've got some good years ahead of you.

u/Wooogly · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I was at a bar a few months ago, I'd been paying with my credit card and when I sat down I was putting everything back in my wallet and couldn't find it anywhere. I went back to the bar and I hadn't left it. I panicked, rang my credit card company and reported it stolen.

About 5 minutes after I sat down, I shuffled in my seat and what do you know - I felt it in my rear pocket.

I'm ashamed to say that I do this several times on a weekly basis.

This because my manly beard of manliness is starting to grow out of control, and I think I am starting to become a life support system for it.

u/no_moa_usernames · 1 pointr/wicked_edge

It looks like you just dove straight into dry beard with the trimmer. I'd recommend against using an electric for anything other than trimming down a massive bush before using a razor for for the kill, or fine line work; but at the minimum I would recommend against using one of those with spinning blades like the Phillips you mentioned. I've used this one for about 5 years now and even if you chose to use it for 100% of your shaving, you should still get better results than the current one you are using.

What is your prep like? Are you using any kind of product pre or post shave besides a standard alcohol aftershave?

u/Wargala · 1 pointr/sex

Do NOT use scissors.

Pro tip: Beard trimmer, set it on the lowest/shortest setting. It'll be just short enough to make your cock look bigger, but long enough to lay down flat, and not be prickly.

Something like this will be fine:

I used AA powered ones, and have a charger (as I have other AA/AAA devices)

But, if you wanted to make it fully USB powered, there's Lithium AA rechargables that can be recharged with an integrated USB port.
