It's a business line reseller like Teltik. Teltik offers the same ONE plan but for $3.50 more.

You have access to post paid benefits like T-mobile Tuesday.

There is nothing that can backfire on you. It's prepaid billing. If you don't like it, simply port out like any other carrier.

The sims are available on Amazon for $10 here.

Good luck.

I have no connection whatsoever to this company and gain nothing from posting the link above.

I have used this service in Cuba in the 3G Internet works pretty well in cities but not so well in the countryside. The $25 for 100 MB and their $100 for 500 MB are currently the best deals you can get for mobile Internet in Cuba. Your phone must be unlocked in order for the SIM card to work.

However the data does go very quickly so I had to ensure that I kept all of the data services turned off on my phone except for when I needed to use it. I burned through 100 MB in four days using mostly WhatsApp for texts, a couple of short FaceTime audio only calls, and some very brief web browsing.

If you're going to use your phone to navigate I suggest you download an offline map or download sections of Google Maps so that you can use those without consuming any data. I was able to download (while in the US) all of Havana to my Google Maps and was able to get driving directions without using any data whatsoever.

I tried activating myself via the online portal, but it kept kicking out the SIM card as invalid ICC ID, but the online chat got me up and running in less the 5 minutes per phone.

I also found the screen protector Google sells really messes with the proximity sensor (to the point we couldn't get our screens to turn on during phone calls), so we bough much cheaper off of Amazon as well

If you can navigate Amazon Japan then you have far more options, since there's Lawson in Narita airport at terminals 1 and 3 before check-in (you can have Amazon deliver there for pick-up).

Cheap: AIS Sim2Fly, 1500 yen, 4GB/8 days. I've used this with no issues.

Pricier: SoftBank Japan Prepaid SIM for Travel, 1990 yen for 3GB/15 days.

Me and my wife have the same Mate 29 Pro's. Bought at the same time and same place. Mine received all updates in a timely manner and for some reason hers didn't, it was stuck. I bought a super cheap Singapore sim card off of Amazon. When it came it, I popped it in and boom update after update rolled right in for her. The sim didn't even have service it was all just wifi.. But some how the sim triggered them. We tried all the methods before and nothing worked.

Hi,

Is it wiser to get this:

https://www.amazon.it/China-Unicomm-Taiwan-Prepaid-Ridotto/dp/B07DB8CZ9N

Or the SIM card at Beijing airport?

The one at Beijing seems much better value, but can I access Google/Facebook etc. with that?

Thanks a lot! Bit confused...

There are several sellers on Amazon with the same AIS product, but I was planning on buying from GAC as they are known to be fairly reputable and the reviews are good (the packaging looks different but it's clearly a repackaged sim2fly.) They also sell a 2-pack on Amazon for $33. There's more info in that Flyertalk thread, but basically it's a Thai carrier and they sell an international SIM card allows roaming in many Asian countries. Based on reviews, it sounds like the AIS SIM connects to either Softbank or NTT Docomo depending on where you are.

**Shameless plug** Check out Hologram.io for access to all 4G networks in the states through one SIM card (and hundreds more internationally). Available through Amazon Prime

Also, might want to check out the Hologram Nova USB modem we partnered with Raspberry Pi Foundation to launch. I've written a number of tutorials on the subject of cellular backhaul with Hologram. Happy to help if you implement one of your own. :)

Thanks! The sim card I ordered is below. I just removed my sim card from my phone and placed the one they sent me once I landed in Japan. That was literally it. My phone started getting a signal immediately. I wasn't able to make phone calls but everything else worked without needing wifi. You can also get a sim card at the airport you landed at.

A prepaid SIM card like this one here would probably be your best bet. It has 22GB of 4G data, throttled to 3G after that, and it’s 30 days for $62CND or $47.50USD.

Here’s a link to a forum discussing these SIM cards, on there will be the answers to any questions you may have.

Walmart Family Mobile Sim Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0793CTVY2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_UujvDbYTT6K7T

I would get Mint Mobile, same network, cheaper, better in general.

My recommendations given your situation :

  1. Port your number to Google Voice; use it with Hangouts over data or wifi, or through web calling (laptop).

  2. For use in the US - pick up a cheap preloaded sim on ebay (Lycamobile, Verizon prepaid); you get these significantly discounted, downside is that you have to throw away after a month and activate another. Or you could get the 3 month MintSim, if you know you're staying put that long. Never add a credit card; your plan should be to throw away that sim and activate another, so that your cost stays low, and you can avoid paying when you're overseas.

  3. For the middle east - there aren't any good international roaming sim cards that are cheap. You may be better off with local sims. Take a look if this one helps

    https://www.amazon.com/AIS-SIM2FLY-Non-Stop-Roaming-Europe/dp/B071WLWPY4

  4. If you're travelling other geo's : Note that these suggestions are for data, if you do need local voice best pick a local sim.

Europe : Pick up a prepaid sim from Three UK (available on Amazon or ebay here in the US); they have a "Go Roam" that covers multiple European countries, Australia / Singapore / US and a few others. 20 Euro, 1 month with 12 GB data.

Asia : multiple options : Check out Three Hong Kong / AIS Thailand / Starhub Singapore, they all have multi-country roaming for data.
