O.O its like $10 for a new alarm. Seriously....
What Makes this a 'smart' alarm clock?
Like, is it the bluetooth speaker or the mood lights?
Heck, why link this one? The Glow model is way nicer.
Edit: Look at the manual. It's useless without a phone. Heck, here are the set up instructions. Dumbest alarm clock I've ever seen.
>Setting Up BEDDI Style
>• Plug in the BEDDI Style with the provided power adaptor
>• Download the BEDDI app on iOS or Android (keyword: BEDDI)
>• Run the app, and follow the setup wizard to con gure your BEDDI Style
It's going to sound sort horrible, but probably fine for parties? If you're buying new... I guess something like this?

If Craigslist is an option you can probably get $100 worth of stuff that will make a bunch of sound.
In the realm of "things that actually sound remotely good" I believe the Dayton 652 or 652 Air plus a $50 amp from Craigslist will bring you in at right around $100.

I have one of these. So nice since I have a lot of electronics I want charging overnight.
Sony Compact AM/FM Dual Alarm Clock Radio with Large LED Display, Soothing Nature Sounds, Time Projection, USB Port, Gradual Wake Alarm, Adjustable Brightness, Plus Built in Backup Battery
I use both Pandora and Google Play, both streaming and music loaded on the device. I play via a pair of Photive Bluetooth headphones, I have a stereo setup with a pair of Soundfreq Sound Platform 2's in my living room, and I have an Inatek Mercury Box in my bathroom. All work beautifully with my N5X. My previous Galaxy S3 didn't always play nice with the SP2's and I would get cut-outs and drop the stereo a lot.
Do you have an old phone?
Set that up.
Otherwise you can get a streaming radio
Thanks, one last thing: I have a pair of LG speakers would these work okay?
Might have to kick it old school.

Maybe you could get something like this.
Looking for an affordable boombox that can play CDs, as well as take aux input (or bluetooth if not too much more expensive) as well as play tapes
I looked up boomboxes on amazon that take aux and they all have mixed reviews, highest avg. rating is 4 stars
CDs and tapes are a must, as well as good sound ( more powerful/better sound than this )
price range: $30-60
willing to spend more money on adding on to it later! just looking for something to start with.
edit: would a "stereo shelf system" be a better option for audio quality? I wouldn't want to spend much more than 70 or 80 to start with, I wonder if that's heresy on here, but I just want a significant upgrade to the aforementioned bluetooth speaker, that can play CDs and tapes. possibly looking at this ... am I way off base here?
Underrated, but a good digital alarm clock. I used my phone for a year, but then I bought a clock. I can tell the time easier and mine has two USB charging ports. Link
We have an alarm clock with a USB port in it similar to this. Usually guests bring their own cable, but I would certainly loan them one if they asked.
If it breaks they can buy a new one.
I'm considering buying a phone mount for my car that seems perfect for my needs, but there's one problem with it: it's bright white. I'd much rather have it black or dark grey.
So then I started thinking, I could probably paint this thing. I'd have to watch out for the hinges and buttons of course, disassemble it as much as possible, and tape over anything I don't want to change color (I like the orange knobs), but with some spray paint and some time, I bet I could pull it off.
What kind of paint would I want to use on this project? I basically have no experience with this sort of thing. Would I need a primer layer (or multiple)? I'm guessing I'd want some sort of plastic-specific paint, but it would also need to go on in thin layers so the moving parts don't get jammed. And I don't want it flaking off eventually.
Thanks for your help!
