Probably a plastic soft tip set - http://www.amazon.com/Viper-Bull-Blaster-Soft-Dartboard/dp/B00022P0UQ - otherwise having it inside seems like an awful idea, plus the whole, having the point go through his mouth

>Spent about $80 on this one at Dick鈥檚.

OMG!!!!!

There's a huge myth in the USA that good dart equipment has to cost a lot. It's what all the stores and dart shops want the customer to believe. Let me give you a few quick examples to help you better understand.

Here's one of the best dartboards on the market today. On sale for $64.

Because of how heavy a board is we're forced to buy them here in the states. Otherwise I'd steer you towards UK dart shops for everything else. You're new to this but if you want to know "why" then have a read of this short article written by a member here.

To give you a visual example check this out... Target darts released a bunch of new darts yesterday. Here are the actual darts that 16x world champion Phil Taylor uses. The darts are $158 from a popular American dart shop. Here are the same exact darts available from a UK dart shop. As you see, $83 and that before an 8% discount. So $77 actually. HALF the price!

Here one more example. Here's a "house brand" soft tip dart from a popular American shop. $84 right?

This is the SAME EXACT dart available at a popular UK dart shop for $16.67!! 5x less!!! Imagine paying $84 + local tax for a set of darts and then finding out they really cost less than $17. I'd be pissed.

The UK daart shops also have 100's of incredible 90-95% tungsten darts for around $20-$30. They have incredible 95% tungsten darts in the clearance section for as low as $14. So before you buy anything at all make sure you come here and ask us anything. I'm American by the way. I'm as pro America as anyone else but until these US dart shops stop trying to deceive the customers they can go pound sand. I'll send my money elsewhere.

This is probably the best deal on a board that's currently available.

Hi folks -

u/chuckdeezoo beat me to this question for the day... and instead of creating a new post, I'll just piggyback... or perhaps Robin hood onto his topic. ;-)

So the question I have and perhaps, this might help u/chuckdeezoo also...

What's the better way to go for Winmau boards? The standard Blade 5 or the Dual Core Blade 5?

Winmau Blade 5 is on sale for $65 (US)

The Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core is $89 (US)

Any thoughts on the difference?

Thanks!!

My buddy and I were also experiencing the same problem. Ended up getting a blade 5 and viper surround from Amazon. I can't recommend them enough.

However, if you don't have the means (or patience) to save money and wait to get a board, I almost bought one of these:
Use the force

The only downside, is the color scheme isn't traditional.
But from what i've heard...they are pretty decent.

Another option is the Viper boards on Amazon Meh!

Although...if you are going to spend $35...you might as well spend $60 and not have to replace for a while longer.

Do yourself a favor - Winner Winner

Thanks! I bought a Gladiator II board and those red dragon darts. I was going to get the blade5, but this seemed like a really good deal on the gladiator. Obviously not great darts, but I will use the scoreboard I suppose.

A drill! So very practical of me.

Or how about a dart board

Two choices. The G3 $64 shipped from A-Z or someone is selling a G2'S package, board, white board darts, on amazon for $39. G2s can be found on amazon for $54.

u/wheelsno3 路 1 pointr/Darts

I understand that. I will say, if you get a good set of soft tip darts, say 20 grams, you will be able to put conversion steel points on them and use the same darts for both styles. So practicing one is basically practicing the other. They aren't that different.

And if you are referencing the size of the targets, there are plenty of soft tip boards likes this or this that actually have small targets, not the typical larger targets you find on a bar board.

You could always go with Viper for $39.99 this season

Viper Razorback isn't bad if your looking to save some bucks:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000UV57DE?camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B000UV57DE&linkCode=as2&pc_redir=T1&redirect=true&tag=bestprodtag80143-20

I wouldn't go with anything that have wires that are stapled on, personal preference, but there's no need for it these days. Not sure what you're looking at spending, but you can't go wrong with a Razor IV. But if you just want to toss around a few on a decent board, the link I sent should be ok for a more modest budget

Winmau Diamonds all the way.

Cheap but you've still got the bevelled edges which really make a difference.

I've had the same idea before but it ends but being more convoluted to be honest. I bought the darts scorer linked below which does exactly that, and it's not very good. You really are better just entering the score.

> I have my dartboard hanging in my garage wedge in the first picture and it works just fine.
>The problem is I spend a ton of time at my family's houses and they always want to play darts but don't want to drill a hole in the door. Saw this online(https://www.amazon.com/Unicorn-On-Tour-Portable-Dartboard/dp/B002Y49HB8) and decided to make my own from stuff laying around my garage.
>things you need if you want to make one of your own
>
>1. piece of wood preferably 18 inches in length
>
>2. truck tie downs
>
>3. duck tape
>
>4. an extra dart board bracket I just used the one I have ps, my steps will different than what I told you to do to make one I used the same holes in my wood so it's a bit offset.
>
>step 1: Take wood and mark center using bull's eye.
>
>step 2: lay tie down just about an inch above center and tape.
>
>step 3: loop the tie down one time around and last bit going towards the wall.
>
>step 4: duck tape where ever needed and screw in the mounting bracket
>
>step 5: The last step hang the dartboard and center it as you can see I used towels to make it not wobble when its hit but I recommend getting foam for a back good luck guys here's some pictures any questions let me know and ill give you my best answer

maybe this one? http://www.amazon.com/Franklin-Sports-Bristle-Dartboard-18-Inch/dp/B0091DKPXY/ they have them for 30 at walmart too

Looks great!

I highly recommend upgrading to a Blade 5 (or v4) dartboard though. I can see that the spider (metal wires that divide the board into segments (for anyone not familiar) is starting to lift up around the bullseye. This leads to more bounce outs. Once you go with a Blade, it's tough to go back to a the older style boards.

Whack up the board with a surround, then just fill in the wall at the end! That's what me and my housemates did, and whenever the landlord came round hide the board with a mirror. Simple work!

However, I'm sure something like this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Gorilla-Portable-Dartboard-Professional-Lifetime/dp/B00I7P2IU0/ref=asc_df_B00I7P2IU0/?tag=googshopuk-21&linkCode=df0&hvadid=214529524006&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=3220163538891576364&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1006476&hvtargid=pla-360299262144&psc=1&th=1&psc=1 would work fine.

There鈥檚 bound to be Black Friday deals on something over the next 2 days...so far there鈥檚 this One80 Gladiator II for $45, and I read somewhere that the Winmau Blade 5 was $28 last year during Black Friday??

Hold out for just a bit, it could be worth ur while

u/kananjarrus 路 1 pointr/Darts

Oh, sorry, I have a Blade 4 already, but I'm looking for a half size double half size treble board.

Something like this.
