I absolutely love getting facials. There's a spa school near my house that I go to every couple of months. They've done a better job than any other place I've been too and the prices are extremely reasonable ($24 for an hour and 15 minute facial + $10 more if you want an ampule or enzyme treatment with it).
I used to get gel manis and pedicures every 2-3 weeks but I stopped doing so when I moved back home because it's very expensive here. So I do my own nails/pedis now. If you're looking for an amazing foot file that will get all the dead skin off I highly recommend this. It has done miracles for my feet.

Has anyone tried sugaring as an alternative to waxing? If so please let me know!

u/hpliferaft · 10 pointsr/OneY

Yeah, physically active. I run about 3 miles 3 or 4 times a week.

That Ped Egg looks interesting. It gets pretty good reviews on Amazon.

u/Mukatsukuz · 9 pointsr/CasualUK

It was this :D https://www.amazon.co.uk/Scholl-Velvet-Smooth-Foot-File/dp/B016NMWMUO
When I bought it, the pink one was £15 and the blue one was £22 :)

Yes, I am part of the uprising and I coat my mechanical feet with dead skin because living skin is a lot more awkward, since you have to leave it on people (also I'd got loads of burst blisters after a 26 mile charity hike)

u/MyPorn_Account · 5 pointsr/FootFetish

Best prep to give your guy a fj assuming he is into feet..:

  1. shower and then use a pumice stone or the PedEgg on your feet before hand. (http://www.amazon.com/Pedicure-Foot-File-Colors-vary/dp/B00113FENI)

  2. Have him paint your toes and blow them dry

  3. pick a good cream or lotion and have him rub your feet

  4. sexy times

....he should be good and ready by that point :)

I got something like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073VS2N6F/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1 for myself, just shave the calluses off. No rips or tears.

I do not know any recipes, but for those reading this and thinking "should I do that?": I have never done anything other then smoothing the surface with a foot file like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07C3Q83NQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_b1u8CbKWG5HAX

I'm barefoot most of the time (except when I'm at the office where I use my Vivo's) and I hike a few times a week. Feet strengthen when they are used. Walking on branches or even small stones do not hurt anymore. My feet are nice and soft and there is very little callus.

Just my two cents. 😉

u/LoneCowboy · 4 pointsr/weightroom

Got calluses, can't get rid of them? they still tear, get long, you have to cut them off so they dont' tear. Yeah, me too. I bought one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R6P72JO/ref=s9_dcacsd_dcoop_bw_c_x_3_w?th=1

AMAZING. Took about 30 seconds and knocked off all that big dead skin on my hands. It's $7. Only leaves the hard area underneath but all the dead skin is gone.

works way better than all the sponges and such. Just thought I'd pass that along, wish I had known about it long ago.

Farmers carries. 190lbs each hand, 70 feet down, 70 feet back. Steps were getting mighty small by the end.

u/xanthia · 3 pointsr/xxfitness

You need to keep your hands in check. When I was doing kettlebells with the dudes I'd have them go over to walgreens and get a pedegg to run lightly across their calluses, and they could use the pumice attachment too. Some people just pumice in the shower.

I personally use a microplane, but that can be scary at first. It's not though, don't think of it as a grater.

I use them dry, then remember to keep moisturizing your hands and stuff, but you want to build up some hardness, just no snags that can rip!

u/juvenal06 · 3 pointsr/bodyweightfitness

Like almost everyone here, I went through the same process a few years ago. Tried everything before settling on the simplest solution:

Use climbing chalk for grip and shave the calluses every few weeks with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073VS2N6F/ref=sspa_mw_detail_2?psc=1

As others have said, don't use gloves. Just accept a little discomfort until your hands toughen.

u/nlgallares · 3 pointsr/weightlifting

I use a pedegg to shave my calluses to a decent level. I use this about once every two weeks or so and I have yet to get a ripped callus. I've gotten blisters on areas without calluses, but no ripped calluses lol.

This is what I use and have told my parents and boyfriend about. They now love them. Looks like I'm going to try baby foot though.

u/Nekkosan · 2 pointsr/abdiscussion

They are. I have started with the ped egg. That is safer. It's not as good but not bad. My husband got this one. It's supper scary. You have to barley touch the callus. I had other that I cut myself with. They weren't worse. It's just that I learned to be really careful.

u/peach-butt · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

This! kind of nasty. but i went at it on my heels and now my feet are like beautiful baby feet. 10/10 it was a little disgusting though. skin shavings everywhere

u/cutecutecute · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I'm not one to typically recommend products, but this thing is amazing for removing callouses on feet. It's cheap, and is rated very highly. Kinda heavy duty, so you don't want to overdo it, but holy crap you'll be amazed at all the skin it shaves off (yes, shaves; think cheese grater.) Just be sure to follow up with a heavy-duty moisturizer afterwards and slap some socks on. Personally, I love Bag Balm; after one night with that stuff on your feet, they're literally transformed (well, softer.) :)

Bottom line: pumice stones and the like didn't do much for me. This thing turned my feet into soft-omg-can't-stop-touching-them overnight. Nothing works better. Oh, and be sure to use it on DRY feet.

u/discretion · 2 pointsr/AskReddit

Probably my Ped Egg and my Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Cream, but I don't think taking care of your skin is terribly unmanly.

u/AimingForZen · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddictionUK

You've probably heard of Microplane kitchen graters but did you know they also do a foot file? Its the best. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0084JQFIK/ref=cm_sw_r_em_awd_vCbIwb98ZJMR5

u/twistandpoke · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

Girl!!! I got you! So I used to date a guy with a foot fetish. It's a long story.

But what came out of that relationship, other than emotional trauma, was baby smooth feet!!

First, here are my two holy grail products.

Skin Cheese Grater

  • Okay it's not actually a cheese grater, but it sure as hell looks like one. To use, have a nice hot bath. Let your feet soak in the water, maybe add an essential oil of your choice or some epsom salts. Treat yo' self. Then take that bad boy and get all the hard callouses off of your feet. Note, don't use it on any other part of your body. I did. Lots of blood. Not fun.

    Cream of the God's Toesies

  • After you've used the cheese grater, dry off your feet and get snuggly into bed with your saran wrap and this miracle cream. Slather your feet in it! Lots and lots! Then cover your feet with saran wrap to keep the cream locked in. Slip on some cozy socks and off to bed with you.

The next morning when you wake up you should see a noticeable difference. Keep doing this and slowly cracks will go away and your feet will feel like heaven.
u/brawn_hilda · 2 pointsr/CompulsiveSkinPicking

Yes, I used to do this. Learning how to properly and gently exfoliate and moisturize my feet really helped. This grater tool is absolutely indispensable for me now: Microplane Colossal Pedicure Rasp (Foot File) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00756HQNQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_AReTyb4YT8RAK

I have super dry skin that callouses easily, and it is crazy how much dead skin this thing can take off. It leaves my skin very even and soft with no peeling or cracking so I'm never even tempted to pick.

u/Spring4Daffodils · 2 pointsr/popping

Try one of these.

Microplane Colossal Pedicure... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0084JQFIK?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I have terrible feet from years of pointe dancing in my younger years and even more years of terrible shoe wearing in my adult years.

This thing takes off calluses and gives me more control to avoid going too far. But watch your knuckles. I scraped off a couple of mine.

u/SystemFolder · 2 pointsr/wheredidthesodago

The Ped Egg, the Pedi Perfect, and the like are way too expensive. I use a Stanley Surform Pocket Plane instead. If you want something that scrapes lighter, a 6 pound bag of Char-Broil Lava Rock is much cheaper than a single Aisilk Earth Lava Pumice Stone.

u/asegers · 2 pointsr/malegrooming

I had horrible feet! Athletes feet, nail fungus and terribly thick calluses.

I treated the athlete’s feet by a topical to eradicate it and then used tea tree essential oil added to coconut oil to prevent reoccurrence.

I ordered a these pedicure tools fo calluses. I scrub my feet with these daily to keep the calluses knocked down and now my feet are very nice!

I never had any luck with creams for calluses. I tried the electrical device and it would just bog down.

Use the handheld in the link. They definitely work.

u/bigann · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I have the same feet, they usually get callus when I wear heels a lot. I use a rasp like this one https://www.amazon.com/Microplane-Colossal-Pedicure-Rasp-Foot/dp/B00756HQNQ after i shower. Once your feet are nice and moist go in with the rasp and get all the dry dead stuff off. Then I use a minty foot cream. Do this a few times and you'll see a big difference! I've also heard baby foot is awesome, just never tried it.

u/ButturedToast · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Gifted thingy

Ughhh, the ped egg was the grossest thing I ever tried. It probably worked well, I dunno. I could barely pay attention to that after dry heaving at the sight of pouring out the foot shavings. I'm gagging just thinking about it. Will never use it again. I just can't. -shudders-

Thank you for the contest !

u/Bellatrixed · 2 pointsr/AskMen

Ped eggs aren't very good quality. Microplane makes a much better foot file for larger feet, just be careful not to shave off too much dead skin at once. You can get em on amazon.

u/rd1970 · 2 pointsr/WTF
u/BAXterBEDford · 2 pointsr/shrooms

"Tasty" is one word I would never use to describe shrooms, unless you're the kind of person that likes to eat the contents out of a Pedegg.

u/marypies78 · 2 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Before bed, I use a callous remover like this every few weeks, or when needed. It looks like a cheese grater for your feet, but it works wonders! I have also used electric versions like this, which are great if you don't have a lot of time to spend. But honestly, the chess grated looking callous remover works better!
Then I follow up with a thick, heavy moisturizer (Vaseline is inexpensive & works very well), and put on cotton socks to sleep in. In the summer, my feet tend to get rough much faster, so I also will do a quick scrub at the end of my shower every few days with a pumice stone.

Best gift I've ever received. Incredible price. Also I remember the natural grip lady on shark tank, I would definitely buy from her.

u/reverteverything · 1 pointr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

As someone with the same kind of feet - I feel ya.

Baby Foot, that people have recommended works great (aside from shedding skin like a mofo for a week), but for me - it's very temporary. For a week, half a week, after which, my callouses come back. But, and i stress this - make sure to soak your feet beforehand. The results are fairly nonexistant without the pre-soak.

I have found an easier way, which worked for me. Using my "cheese grater" - this thing every couple of days in the shower (I've never had issues of it scratching or hurting me, just times when there's no skin coming off) and this lotion (I put it on whenever i wear socks, or every couple of days).

That seems to help a lot.

u/you_dub · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

My feet have nasty calluses. They're from my chacos so they're on the sides of my feet right under Talus bone at the like edge of my foot. Anyways, I was wondering if there is a good way to get rid of these and make my feet all smooth and soft! I've been using a foot file probably once a week for a month, but it's still there! I know nothing about skincare, so I'm in the dark on this one. Any help appreciated!

u/chuystewy · 1 pointr/Fitness

A ped-egg works pretty well on my hands.

u/QuitStaringAtMyFeet · 1 pointr/crossfit

Microplane makes a [fantastic callus file.] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00756HQNQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Gl0gAbZCY394G) Not as frightening to me as a callus shaver.

u/onahighhorse · 1 pointr/AskMen

MMicro plane for calluses I’ve read that you aren’t supposed to use a file on your feet but this thing is so cheap and works perfectly.

u/MzScarlet03 · 1 pointr/AskReddit

The only thing that worked for me was getting a foot file like this and only using it to file down plantar warts daily. Eventually after about a month or two they went away. This was after 2 years of trying the freezing, acid, etc.

u/ProfessorPitbull · 1 pointr/Fitness

Well, if you were inclined to do something about it, I'd suggest using a foot file on your calluses after a few minutes in the shower... file them down maybe twice a week if you're doing regular rowing/erging.

u/exorcyze · 1 pointr/climbing

I've personally found using one of these is faster / easier for me than attacking them with a file or pumice stone :

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AAQD2NU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

They're designed for taking off the hard areas on your heels and such, but work really nicely for smoothing down the thick hand callouses.

u/There-Wolf · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

I have big feet and trouble with dry skin and callouses too. I can't make you feel better about your feet, but I can recommend two products that will solve the dryness/dead skin issues. These two products will make your feet baby soft after just one use. I use them about every other week and my feet are super soft.

u/gardengreenbacks · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I get really tough callouses and this thing changed my life.

Good luck.

u/biznalls20 · 1 pointr/opiates

You absolutely can snort the OP Oxycontin. It is just more work. You grind it into a super fine powder first with something like a pedegg you can grab at any pharmacy:

https://www.amazon.com/Microplane-Colossal-Pedicure-Rasp-Foot/dp/B00R6P72JO/ref=pd_lpo_194_tr_t_3/163-8615945-5397060?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=NRS0Z4GW3ADGE6W5YHVY&th=1

You then microwave it for like 30 seconds to kill the time release stuff in it, it will start to turn brown and often spark.

You then put in freezer to cool down for a while and then chop up like normal and snort away.

Search for 'crisping oxycontin OP;' on youtube for video guides.

Sure it is more work but if you want to snort an OP and turn it from ER into instant release this is the way to do it. I do it often, works fine. Again is a good amount of work but it works.

Putting it in coke in a shot glass overnight also works to kill the ER mechanism. I often stick 2 x 80 mg OP in shot glass with coke overnight and start my morning drinking that. Make sure to wash the shot glass a few times with more coke to get all the slimy goodness.

For what it's worth, I prefer the crystal foot files. One side is rougher for faster exfoliating, the other side is fine- it keeps your feet SMOOTH so they don't catch on your sheets at night.

In the winter, I use this Microplane foot rasp (gives a whole different type of Parmesan cheese), followed by this Gold Bond heel cream (it's cheaper in stores, but it can be kind of hard to find, though I've had luck at WalMart), and put on a pair of socks. Works SO well.

u/iroll20s · 1 pointr/kendo

I haven't dealt with my hand, but certainly my feet have got thick enough callus that I used my wifes ped egg on it.

Something similar to keep them down might help?

u/RandomRebelRose · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

When I've gotten lazy with moisturizing and my feet start to get "snaggy" (calloused and cracked) and I want my smooth, soft feet back I use a glass foot file. (I have two that are very similar to each other, this one which is a quick ship and one directly from the czech republic.) I use it in the shower right before I get out so they've gotten a chance to soften some. You can use it dry as well but I feel it works better wet. And for everyday up keep (again when I'm not being lazy) I use a heavy cream and put on socks. I'm currently using this and I swear even a day or two later my feet are still smooth and silky!

u/placidtwilight · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

They're for feet really but still great on hands. Don't shave your callouses off completely, just soften them up so they're not causing you problems daily. That way you're still good to go in the gym but don't have problems at work.

u/AgropromResearch · 0 pointsr/WTF

Not a doctor, but it looks like your callous is getting so thick that it's flaking off like a cracked eggshell.

I had thick callous on my heel as well, didn't get like this, but it would crack sometimes. but not now, I have this:

http://www.amazon.com/Microplane-Brown-Colossal-Pedicure-Foot/dp/B00756HQNQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1372386475&sr=8-1&keywords=foot+rasp

keeps the callous from getting to thick and subsequently dry.
