It's a couple thousand dollars depending on how many hairs you need transplanted.

Also you put the stuff like Rogaine on your head for as long as you care about keeping your hair (not the transplant hair but the hair around it that hasn't fallen out yet).

I started balding early and so started using Rogaine, it's pretty much a no brainer. Take Shower -> Dry Off -> Take 30sec to put on Rogaine -> Rest of my routine.

It's really no big deal since it takes so little time and has a good chance of slowing or halting your hair loss completely.

Honestly brushing my teeth is more of a hassle than putting some foam on my head.

I also use a product called Caboki. It's a hair concealer but uses natural fibers that just attach themselves to your thin hairs making them thicker. It works well and is water proof. While wearing it I actually look like I have a full head of hair VS my normal thin hair head that allows you to see my scalp. Nobody can tell unless they rub their hands through your hair and wonder what the tiny black stuff on their hand is. This also takes about 30-45 seconds to apply making it very easy to do with little effort.

Overall this stuff costs me about $20-30 a month. To me the price of one trip to the movies is worth not being self-conscious about my balding head every time I go to work. Put it on in the morning and then completely forget about it.

P.S. For anyone wondering why I don't shave it, I CANNOT pull off a bald head. I just have one of those heads where a shiny dome would make things worse. Also 2 hair products is nothing compared to what women do to get ready in the morning.

I remember seeing this review when I bought some and it made me laugh.

On a serious note it worked really well for me, I was thinning a bit on top but this shampoo and conditioner has thickened it back to normal.

Here is the Amazon page. Some of the other images are beautiful.

Also, adding to this post, there are 1% strength ketoconazole shampoos available without a prescription. Nizoral is one brand and I am currently using Le'Marie shampoo I ordered from Amazon:

I previously used these nail polish wall racks. There are also table racks and rotating racks.

My collection has exploded beyond what can be reasonably displayed on a wall or a desk, so now I use four Ikea Helmers. Many ladies also use Michael's 3-drawer craft cubes, which have come to be known as Melmers.

The racks are obviously great for displaying your polishes, but they lack space for additional pieces and nail art tools. However you decide to store your polishes, make sure they are standing upright. I hope this helps! :)

The three things you should do to save your hair and regrow some (probably around half) of what you've lost:

  1. Use Bosley shampoo and conditioner (starter kit is currently 29 bucks or so on amazon. Use a shampoo brush to properly get it in there - believe me, the difference between with and without the brush is huge. Leave the shampoo and conditioner both in for five minutes each. Do this every single day. After about four to five weeks you'll start seeing new growth - fine little hairs that will be shorter than the rest of the hair on your head. They will grow longer and thicker with time. After you've run out the starter kit, you can buy one liter sized containers of the shampoo and conditioner only (not the thickening treatment though) for about 40 bucks on Amazon. I like the thickening treatment, but I don't bother with it because it's very expensive outside of the starter kit.

  2. Use minoxidil twice daily. Every day! Skipping this is how it doesn't work properly. You can buy a year's supply on Amazon for about 50 bucks.

  3. Take a Biotin vitamin supplement. It will thicken and strengthen your hair.

You won't lose any more hair if you follow this religiously. Trust me. My entire family is a bunch of bald guys, usually total loss by 30 - I'm in my mid 30's and still have a thick, healthy crop of hair.
u/CasualSuperHero90 · 2 pointsr/beards

Ok I was in the same situation. Work doesn't care about the beard, but I want to maintain a professional approach to work. So I heeded the advice of /r/beards awhile ago. Here's what I'll recommend:

Step 1 : Oil and/or Leave in conditioner

My current favorite http://www.amazon.com/DUCKBUTTER-Duck-Butter-Beard-Oil/dp/B00YZ5UWSQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449214132&sr=8-1&keywords=beard+oil+pack

http://www.amazon.com/Honest-Amish-Beard-Balm-Conditioner/dp/B009NNFB0O/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449214332&sr=8-1&keywords=beard+leave+in+conditioner

On the days I shampoo and condition my beard I dont use the leave in. Other days I use the leave in. Oil everyday.

Step 2: Brush

http://www.amazon.com/Zeus-Bristle-Pocket-Beard-Brush/dp/B00LV31TVY/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1449214502&sr=8-7&keywords=boars++hair+brush

Pick up a boars hair brush and get the product from step 1 deep in there.

Step 3: Paste

Current personal favorite:
http://www.amazon.com/Garnier-Fructis-Style-Clean-Finishing/dp/B0050N4DLO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1449214605&sr=8-1&keywords=garnier+paste

This process leaves my beard straight and soft. I still have to deal with the odd hair sticking out, but it looks more professional.

u/bornonjupiter · 2 pointsr/RandomActsOfPolish

I don't have one personally. I just recently swatched all of my polishes because it was hard to browse my collection with everything hidden in a Helmer. I don't really have space for a rack (and I worry about UV degradation) so this works well for me and I'm finally making headway through my untrieds.

That said, if I had the space, I would get a [rack like this](Nail Polish Rack Display Rotating Fits up to 140 Bottles https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004W2XOIM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_DW4DybWH8C356) in a hot second.

u/BoonkuGangu · 2 pointsr/tressless

I had a lot of luck with Nioxin in conjunction with various shampoos. The kind I've been using they aren't selling anymore, but this is supposed to be the reformulated (and hopefully better) version: https://www.ulta.com/system-1-scalp-therapy-conditioner?productId=xlsImpprod4450355

And the best shampoo I've come across (at least the one I used regularly when I felt like my hair was the strongest, a few months ago): https://www.amazon.com/Biotin-Shampoo-Hair-Growth-Thickening/dp/B01MQG9LM9/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8

I ran out of it and my hair seems to have gotten noticeably weaker. I'm going to order it again. Caffeine has been shown to somehow stimulate hair growth. It doesn't necessarily help with MPB, but it makes hair grow faster at least.

Obviously the longer your hair is, the more damage it'll accumulate over time. The few times I've shaved my head, my hair grew back stronger and thicker, but gradually weakened as it was exposed to various products (hairspray, gel, harsh shampoos, etc).

I'd say the best things for keeping it strong is using as little product as you can in it, getting scalp massages, and using a really good shampoo/conditioner.

u/ImAnonymoose · 2 pointsr/FierceFlow

I’m currently growing mine out so i’m using Biotin Shampoo and Conditioner

It helps with hair growth and has really helped cut back on greasy hair. I was shampooing every 3 days shortly after switching to this. That is, until I started using some oils at night. Now I have to shampoo every day to clean that out but nbd.

u/bluejuiselove · 2 pointsr/PCOS

Omg I have the same issues! The anxiety, the weight, and the thinning of my hair. For the thinning, I suggest a product called Toppik. That stuff saved me. I can do whatever hair style I want, but just use Toppik to fill in the sparse spots.

Edit: Sorry Wrong Link. Here's the correct one! https://www.amazon.com/TOPPIK-Hair-Building-Fibers-Auburn/dp/B00GUPTNWA

u/Harumphapotamus · 2 pointsr/weddingplanning

Amazing curls! I was also really worried about my thin hair around my part and actually filled in using [toppik](http://www.TOPPIK.com/ Hair Building Fibers, Auburn, 0.11 oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GUPTNWA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_jvnZCbGTSPGRE). It's basically fine particles that sit on your scalp and hair and help fill in. Its a little finnicky and requires practice not to get patches (it has to be lightly dusted in) but it made a world of difference to me!

u/Synarya · 2 pointsr/asktransgender

Depending on how big the spot is, something like this might help.

u/redditfan4sure · 1 pointr/malegrooming

I use this product: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B016XB280Y and although it took awhile it did regrow some of my hair back. What is strange is I was thinning at the front of my hair line on both sides and it only regrew on one side, but I will take what I can get. It also seemed to help with my bald spot in the back. Don't expect miracles but it did regrow some of my hair back. I use it about 3 times a week. The stuff also lasts a long time. I bought it over a year ago and still have half a bottle left and this is with my kids using it for awhile thinking it was regular shampoo. Oh yeah, only use it where you want to regrow hair, which for me is the top and front of my head. At first I was using it on all of my hair and the hair that is not receding started growing a lot faster so I now use regular shampoo for that.

u/acboyz2 · 1 pointr/tressless

I had started to see my my hairline receding for a few months, but it was when I started to notice the bald spot at my part (shown in the first photo) that I decided to take action. Now a whole new strip of hair has appeared where the bald spot used to be, my hairline is more forward, and my hair is so much fuller! Really happy with results, and excited to see the progress continue.

Process: Hims minoxidil twice daily, Hims finasteride once a day, two biotin gummies a day (found a really great vegan version that also doubles as a daily multi-vitamin), and this sulfate-free biotin shampoo with caffeine that I love.

24 years old, and happy to say, no side effects at all :)

u/BundleOfShae · 1 pointr/MtF

Hmm, that's a good question. I am leaning towards yes, I would have still done it when I did. I am fairly certain the follicles in my temples are dead, so I would get a transplant regardless at some point. And considering how long it takes to grow in (3 - 12 months) vs. breast growth vs desire to present female, yeah, I definitely would. I didn't want to have boobs sticking out with a masculine, balding head!

I did consider the fact that FFS could bring my hairline down, but since it may be covered in Oregon sometime soon (so my endo says), I though I should wait to get it, and save me some money. That said, 2000 hairs cost me $8k in the USA (I got a Care Credit Card with 2 years to pay it off interest free).

Never ever quit the Rogaine!!! And if you are feeling like spending just a little more, here is everything I do:

  • A nice, natural shampoo and conditioner. Only wash with shampoo every other day; your natural oils are a good thing.
  • Get an Rx for Finasteride 1mg (Propecia is 1mg, and Proscar is 5mg that should be cut up unless its given by your endo as a blocker, for example, if you cant handle Spiro). I take morning and night, but shhhhh that's "bad form." I'm paranoid and have my husband get the extra dose via Rx. You can also get it online if you pay far more.
  • Propidren OTC DHT blocker from Amazon.
  • Hairfluence supplement (it has a lot of things a women's multivitamin would, plus more).
  • MSM 1000mg taken 4x a day (There is a little bit in Hairfluence).
  • Biotin 10,000mcg supplement (There is a little bit in Hairfluence).
  • I take a Cal/Mag/Zinc supplement to counteract some hairloss from my seizure medication (AEDs commonly fuck up the nutrients your hair needs)
  • Rogaine 5% Foammorning and night. I fucking hate it because it makes my hair stiff and gross, but I will switch to nightly only once I can pull of some feminine hairstyles. You can get generic [liquid] Rogaine that is drastically less expensive, but it's such a mess I couldn't stand it.
  • The big budget item I have is my laser helmet. Cold Laser Therapy has been cleared by the FDA to treat hair loss but its pricey. Two years ago it cost me $600. People like to knock it, but hey, it works for me and they had them on display at the office I got my transplant at.

At the end of the day, every doctor will say, "You are on testosterone blockers, you don't need Finasteride or Rogaine or XYZ because you don't have testosterone." I have yet to find a patient who agrees with that; even if you have female range T, that little bit can still make DHT which is a big culprit along side genetics. And frankly, all of this is cheaper than an insured Orchi., the only way you are going to get your T down to almost zero.

Cheers, I'm off to get my first injection, which I hope puts the pedal to the metal.

Which brand/product is the most affordable on there? And are third party sellers on Amazon safe? For example this one:

https://www.amazon.ca/Just-Men-Minoxidil-Treatment-Precision/dp/B078NHCYM1/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=minoxidil&qid=1564342097&s=gateway&sr=8-4

This is what I use twice a day. I’m seeing regrowth around my hairline and basically everywhere I’m applying it. It doesn’t make my hair super greasy like the Kirkland’s version that I tried before.

I want to give this product a shout out https://www.amazon.com/Biotin-Shampoo-Conditioner-Treatment-Thinning/dp/B07FSMRY3S/ref=sr_1_4?crid=1Y6126PBAIHQ1&keywords=biotin+shampoo+and+conditioner+for+hair+growth&qid=1567792278&s=gateway&sprefix=biotin+s%2Caps%2C136&sr=8-4

my hair got thinner due to damage and I've been using this religiously for a few months now and have hair growing where I never (in my entire life) had hair grow. I'm also looking at adding earths nectar mint scalp oil or the ordinary hair peptide serum into my mix.

You might want to try some hair fiber powder. It takes some time to learn how to apply properly (if you overdo it, it may look noticeable), but it's been really great for me.

XFusion Economy Keratin Hair Fibers, Medium Brown 28g https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007AKSGH2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_jtWOyb5G8XPTT

I've also heard people here talk about wiglets, for more severe hair loss. In most cases, I think the powder can do the trick.

u/dacutey1023 · 1 pointr/tressless

The only thing that works for a long term for me is the L'emarie Shampoo https://www.amazon.com/Lemarie-Intensive-Growth-Shampoo-Ounce/dp/B00C01C43S/ref=sr_1_104_s_it?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1483708715&sr=1-104&keywords=dandruff+shampoo.

Not only for keeping your scalp clean of dandruff but for a healthy scalp and hair.
This shampoo has 1% Ketoconazole and in top of that it has other ingredients that are well know to help with scalp problems like Pyrithione Zinc, Caffeine , Salicylic Acid , Allatoin and a bunch of essential oils and extracts. It also has one ingredient that is new to the market call Pisum Sativum (Pea) Peptide. this one ingredient helps with keeping your hair growing healthy.

u/BananaMuscle · 1 pointr/steroids

I see a lot of support for Nizoral shampoo which has 1% Ketoconazole, which helps to block DHT. I find anti-dandruff shampoos really harsh. Does anyone have an experience with anything else on the hair-loss-prevention-shampoo front?

Example linked here, also contains 1% ketoconazole:

L'emarie Intensive Hair Growth and Hair Loss Shampoo, W/ 1% Ketoconazole Biotin, DHT Blocking

u/Tyko_3 · 1 pointr/Minoxbeards

You convinced me of getting the foam. I purchased this, the price seemed very reasonable considering a single month of the liquid cost me $20 after tax. I hear good things about kirkland, does this seem like a good deal to you?

This. Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner by Watermans - Combo Pack - *Can reduce hair loss https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01KXT0NPE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_FGtSCb29P2MM7

u/trishamarie1104 · 1 pointr/Accutane

I agree with Kc1319310. You could also try a conditioning treatment. I use a treatment on my hair once a week. If you go to a salon to get your hair cut ask your stylist about it. She will point you in the right direction as far as which one to buy for your hair.

Also, look into Nioxin hair thickening AND regrowth treatment. I started using that after I completed my 6 months of accutane, and it has helped SO much! My hair grew back, and then some!

u/lukeman3000 · 1 pointr/pussypassdenied

Hey man, a little late here, and I don't know if this is applicable to you or not. But, I just thought I'd share my experience. I noticed significant thinning a few months ago and started a particular regimen, and it's yielded pretty good results.

I use the Nioxin #2 system, as well as their Minoxidil (Hair Regrowth Treatment) once per day, and that was the progress over 5.5 months. The instructions recommend to use the Minox twice per day.

Furthermore, if you really want to attack it, you could consider taking Finasteride, which, when combined with a good shampoo, conditioner, and Minoxidil, is a pretty powerful combo for halting and even reversing hair loss due to male pattern baldness. Personally, I wanted to avoid taking the pill, so I just tried the topical solution first. And it seems to have worked pretty well, even when using it 50% as much as the instructions say to.

BOLDIFY Hair Fibers for Thinning... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01G4NMIQK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I like this one better than toppik. My last purchase of Toppik must of been a defective bottle but it pissed me off. It would not stick on my head and hair. When I move my head the fibers go all over the place. For boldify I don't even use hair spray.

u/karlsmission · 0 pointsr/PartneredYoutube

Just go to https://affiliate-program.amazon.com

details there. they don't just hand them out. had to prove that it was worth partnering with. Had to have a website, etc. It took a few weeks for my submission to be approved. Now I can post custom links like: http://amzn.to/2kc68nK and if somebody clicks on it, I get anywhere from 4-7% of anything they purchase from that visit. (I think its a ~4 hour cookie).

Like I said, I review products, and link to those products. Like I recently did a laptop, showed how to upgrade the memory and storage on it (smoking deal of a laptop, 14" 1080 ips screen for ~$200, but shitty 32gb emmc storage). not a day doesn't go by I don't "sell" at least one dimm of ram, an SSD and a drive caddy needed for the upgrade. electronics I get 4% of, so its not a ton, but it ends up being about $5/day minimum for those items alone. I also "sell" one - two of those laptops a week, so that's another $8/laptop. a couple of years ago, I did a radio install on my Infiniti G35. Since sold that car, but I "sell" the parts needed to do the work at least once a month, the parts are expensive, so gives me $20-30 in revenue.

read about somebody struggling with money? Hey, you should really read this book:http://amzn.to/2l9sf29

Read about somebody's shitty Mother in law (/r/justnomil)? This book changed my life: http://amzn.to/2ldZ0rf

I grew a beard this last year, going strong at 4 months now, Looks great, but was a bit scratchy, started using some beard oil really softened it up.

That sort of stuff. I whore out my links like its going out of style. Forums, facebook, reddit, etc. Its all about residual income. the more people who view my videos, the more clicks through to amazon, the more money I make, the more money I make the more stuff I can buy the more I buy, the more I make review videos, etc. I don't have a big channel, just shy of 800 subs, and ~40k view/month.
