> I'm pretty sure you can pair any bluetooth headphones or headset, and use that for audio.

I don't think so. In my experience, that's just for in-game communication (like talking to others online).

> For wired headphones with a 3.5mm jack, you'll need the composite (red/white plugs) to 3.5mm converter.

This should work, I think. Here's a link to a fairly cheap one, if you want to purchase online.

Edit: Also, if your headphones don't have their own volume control, you could get something like this to adjust the volume.

u/Fresh-Mango · 7 pointsr/dogs

Good advice. To add to that, if you prefer sound to subtitles, you could use headphones with a long extension cord like this or this. There are longer ones out there depending on the distance from your TV to couch, just search for "3.5mm Male to 3.5mm Female headphone extension cord". If there are two people, you can use a splitter adapter like this. You may also check Monoprice for additional options that are sometimes of the same (or higher) quality at a cheaper price than those available at big box stores or other online retailers.

The Fiio μBTR/uBTR is a capable little device. Great for making IEMS like the T2 portable. There is no buzzing or hiss when no music is playing like I’ve noticed with other Bluetooth solutions. I can find no fault with the sound while connected to my iPhone. The battery life seems to be about 10 hours for me, which is plenty to last all day for my use case. The output level (loudness) is about the same as the built in headphone jack on my iPhone. I guess I’m one step closer to giving up my headphone jack (maybe!). The cable pictured is a 60mm cable by Fiio that pairs greatly with the micro BTR. All in all it’s a fun setup. The T2s, of course, sound fantastic.

My all time favorite setup is KSC75 drivers in a PortaPro housing.

Are you in the US? I use the following to replace the cables on my KSC75s:

https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B077P5N5LY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Gives you volume/track control and a mic. Can't beat 'em for $15.

u/McMadface · 4 pointsr/headphones

Get a short MMCX cable to go along with your ES100. I use one of these: https://www.amazon.com/FiiO-MMCX-Headphone-Replacement-Cable/dp/B07KVZWW73

I usually clip the ES100 to my collar either on the side or on the back.

u/forthelol · 4 pointsr/headphones

Make sure the one you get is the one designed for the ZSTs for the best fit. The one for the ZS3/5/6 will fit, but not flush fit and will have a bit of a gap leftover. Here is the Amazon link.

u/mihesq · 3 pointsr/headphones

6 core

8 core

The 6 core doesn't have ear hooks and I thought I'd give that a try. The 8 core does have the ear hooks.

There was also a coupon attached to the item that took $5 off the price for me. Not sure if it shows anymore.

u/prajaybasu · 3 pointsr/HeadphoneAdvice

The BTR1K Bluetooth receiver and LC-3.5AS short cable leave you $230 to buy any MMCX IEM for a setup like this

I don't workout at a gym but I've found it to be pretty decent while running/jogging. If any of the 3 components of the setup stop working, you can just replace that part instead of the whole thing. No Bluetooth delays whatsoever. This setup is not waterproof but it can handle a bit of sweat (if cleaned properly).

Basically you can search for any IEM under $230 that matches your sound requirements without worrying about wireless connectivity.

Here's 12 ft for 5 bucks. Enjoy.

u/Kenny987654321 · 3 pointsr/headphones

It is a silver plated cable sold by Yinyoo Audio on Amazon.

u/OverExclamated · 3 pointsr/HeadphoneAdvice

A few ideas that come to mind:

Snag the 2.5mm compatible boom mic and treat yourself to a nice new cable. Sennheiser offers the 598 short, or you can look at a third-party like Periapt. If you feel comfortable doing the quick and easy twist-lock mod, you can expand your options.

Decent price for the WS1100is. Pair it with a BoomPro.

Can try the ever popular Fidelio X2HR, also with the BoomPro. Doesn't tick your box for portability though.

u/kronbison · 2 pointsr/headphones

You will have to plug your mic into your onboard sound. An extention may help with that.

u/randombullet · 2 pointsr/buildapc

u/ReasonableStatement · 2 pointsr/headphones
u/ThickAnteater38 · 2 pointsr/ZReviews
u/criose · 2 pointsr/audiophile

You mean like the ones AKG use for most of their pro headphones? Should be able to find plenty of third party ones like this though the quality may be a bit of a crapshoot.

u/Lev_Astov · 2 pointsr/hackedgadgets

I don't see why that wouldn't work, though that's so short, I'd go for one like this. I really don't know if there is any danger of either the PC or the phone damaging the other if both are producing sound at the same time, though.

An alternative may be as follows. Assuming the audio cable is permanent on your speakers, you could just get this and plug it into your pc, then tape or zip tie the female end to your desk where you can reach and swap the speaker cable more easily. Does that make sense?

u/BouncingBall_ · 2 pointsr/headphones

Don't share your gripes with typical iem cables, so I'm sorry to say that I don't know any off hand. I do however know that plenty of people make them and googling them should lead to lots of results. Plus, if you're just looking for a cable similar to the se215's, you can purchase those cables on amazon here.

u/basilbowman · 2 pointsr/livesound

No, I meant extension cables for your inputs.

The ZLX would be killer for this use, I just assumed you were going for cheap. I'm not convinced that they would sound $700 better for what you're going to use them for, but that's your call. You could always rent some for the day and try them out.

Be careful getting long ICE cables, the el cheapo ones on amazon are notorious for getting hot as shit - make sure you get a heavy enough gauge.

u/teandro · 2 pointsr/headphones

I use this one, it's really good. I wanted a black / grey light cable with mic and L-shaped connector. There's a more expensive Shure mmcx cable I can also recommend. TENNMAK MMCX Detachable Cable with Remote and Microphone - Transparent Black Color (with mic) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XZ4DBX6

u/BuenaJormax · 1 pointr/headphones

The best replacement would probably be the original cable, if you liked it. https://www.amazon.com/Shure-EAC64CL-Detachable-Earphone-Earphones/dp/B0046HADYQ?th=1&psc=1

u/89sec · 1 pointr/headphones

The Shure SE215 has detachable cables and can be found for ninety dollars on Amazon. Replacement cables are typically around twenty-seven dollars each, but there are other options as little as seventeen dollars each.

u/xPurplexAnarchyx · 1 pointr/headphones

The microphone and controls really limit you, but off the top of my head the Klipsch Image S4i, Meelectronics A151p/A161p match your criteria although I'd rather not recommend that Klipsch it'll suit your music best. If you're willing to up your budget then the Shure SE215 + cable or even the Klipsch x4i after burn-in.

u/olbaze · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

You can just look up in Amazon with something like "Sennheiser HD598 replacement cable" and you'll find what you need, such as this first party cable or this 3m third party one. Naturally, the first party cable doesn't come in various lengths as it's literally a replacement part. You can also find videos on YouTube where people mod their HD558s or 598s with a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm adapter so that it'll be compatible with a wider range of cables. You might also get something by looking up Audio-Technica's cables, I believe the popular ATH-M50x uses a 2.5mm-to-3.5mm cable.

In the future, if replacement cables are part of your purchase decision, you need to look up the availability and type of cable. For example, the AKGs that I have use a mini-XLR-to-3.5mm cable and Beyerdynamic uses 3.5mm in some of their headphones.

These silicon tips are really nice and work exceptionally well for me. If you know what size you'll need for your ears, get them instead of the multi-pack and you'll have a few spares, otherwise the multi-pack is a great option for trying them all out to get the perfect fit for your ears. (All of these have the same/correct internal stem size needed for a perfect fit with the BLONs.)

If you happen to be a Sony MH750/755 fan, their silicon tips also work really well with the BLONs.

Some folk also add these small gaskets around the BLON's stem base in order to help get the tips to extend up and out a bit further for a better seal. (The stems are a bit on the short side, so folks with larger ears will definitely benefit from this more than folks with small ears.)

As to cables, the BLON's have a square edged .78mm two pin connectors. (.75mm two pin cables will also fit in a pinch.) However, they won't fit KZ compatible cables unless you first round the plastic square connector edges off a little. This is very easy to do with a file or hobby knife and only takes a couple minutes. It's what I did with mine and they'll then fit perfectly with any KZ cable (normally referred to C-type, C-Pin, Para C, or QDC. This is the one I use, it lays very nice (doesn't tangle easily) and is of high quality.

If you don't want to trim the BLON's connector edges to round them up a bit, then any cable with an exposed .78mm two pin connector (like this one) will work just fine.

Have fun!

Along the same lines, they could use a Y splitter, apply an in-line volume control to the left channel, then use another Y splitter to combine. It'd be more parts, but no physical modification.

[Edit] Actually, a Y splitter with built-in volume control would just let you split it and recombine.

Super late to the party, but some of the pros and cons you listed aren't exactly accurate.

Frequency Response: Yes, the v2 has a much wider range as far as frequency response goes. That said, a human with almost perfect hearing can only hear ~20Hz-20kHz, so the added range on the v2 is kinda useless. Most people can't even distinguish over 12-15kHz.

Cable Length: You listed shorter cable length as a bad thing, but for many people, having an unnecessarily long cable can be annoying. You can always extend a shorter cable, but coiling/wrapping a longer cable can be frustrating and even bad for the cable.

Mic Freq. Response: If you consider that a humans talking voice covers a range of about 85Hz-300Hz (a high pitched female scream can reach ~3000Hz), the difference between a mic that goes from 10,000Hz to 16,000Hz is useless in a headset. Since the v2 goes down to 50Hz (vs the v3's 100Hz) that is a tangible difference, although only for men with lower voices.

Mic Sensitivity: The v2 has higher sensitivity and will provide more gain, although a 4dB difference isn't huge.

Headphone Impedance: Without opening a huge can of worms, there is no ideal impedance for headphones. The relationship that impedance has on sound quality is much more complex, and from a PC gaming standpoint, has more to do with what's driving the headphones (motherboard, sound card, amp, DAC, etc). Also, a 3 Ohm difference is fairly negligible and both headsets can easily be driven my any PC without the need for further amplification.

u/quadrplax · 1 pointr/Vive

So it looks like I can get a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adapter to use the headphones with normal cables. This doesn't have the best reviews but people are mostly complaining it doesn't work with headsets and people say it fits the 598 (may need to remove locking mechanism). Then I can use get an inline mic cable. 4ft is a little short so I can add an extender cable and finally, a Y-cable for separate headphone/mic ports. Then I can just use a shorter regular 3.5mm cable with the Vive. I wonder what the odds all of that will work is?

There are a lot of good ones with a detachable aux.

I don't know why, but Sennheiser doesn't seem to sell their standard-length cable for the 598s on their website, but I bought this one on Amazon for mine.

You can buy a shorter length one directly from Sennheiser here.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could recommend me a ~6ft 3.5mm L-shaped male to female cable that is braided an Amazon.ca. I went to UGREENs store on Amazon and couldn't find anything. Its kind of hard to find this exact cable because its so specific haha. Thanks!

You could connect your wired audio cable to an audio cable that has an inline volume control wheel.

Audio cable with volume control

u/Williamfoster63 · 1 pointr/HeadphoneAdvice

This one has no stiffening material and also a mic.

I have both the T2 and T3 because they're different and I listen to each of them when I'm feeling a different sound signature. I think most people like the neutrality of the T2, but I found I like the slightly brighter T3 more, personally.

u/Fernando_Matt · 1 pointr/headphones

this cable will be fine?

u/rtkierke · 1 pointr/HeadphoneAdvice

They're not detachable, but otherwise the Final Audio E3000 sound right up your alley on a budget. You could also try the BGVP DMG but buy an aftermarket mmcx mic cable if a detachable cable is a must-have. The issue with your budget is that most great headphones in the price range aren't super warm and the detachable cables don't have mics, so it would take you over budget to replace the cable. The go-tos in that range are the Ikko OH1, Etymotic ER3XR, and the vSonic GR07 Bass Edition, but all three are known to have pretty strong treble. My gut says you might really love these with something like this.

u/matthewleonard07 · 1 pointr/recording

And you might need a 1/4 to 1/8 inch adapter pending on your mixer/interface

Hope this helps!

u/Kyle_Necrowolf · 1 pointr/xboxone

Glad to hear you got it working!

This is another quirk of the Xbox, with the limited range it can accept. Too quiet, it won't pick up, too loud, it'll distort.

If you have an extra pair of headphones (can literally be anything), a simple way to reduce the volume would be to get a normal headphone splitter (not TRRS) and connect it to the mic (before the TRRS splitter). The headphones will absorb some of the power coming off the mic, lowering the volume. You don't actually need to wear those headphones or anything, they're literally just to absorb some of the power.

Some sort of external volume control could work too, in the same location (between mic and TRRS splitter). Not an amplified one though, the control shouldn't need any power at all.

And yeah, I keep hearing about how campfire stuff is magical haha, but I've also read that most of their <$1000 iems have recessed mids which makes me stay away considering how much they cost :( . Might go for the t2 or t3 if that's the case, since i don't like how the mids are kinda overpowered by the bass in the se215 . How would you compare them to the se215?

And I've always thought that the Tin iems had to be worn over the ear lol, great to hear that it worked for you (: .

The stock MMCX on the the T2 is actually really nice, but its a toss up on whether the Blon's 0.78 2 Pin cable needs to be replaced. I personally think the cable is ok, so id recommend waiting a bit before you get a replacement.

If you do end up going for the Blons, they absolutely need new tips though. The spinfit Cp100 S M L are what i use and they work some wonders.
