I hope you at least live somewhere close to an independent game shop. We have one over here where I live that still has like 10 Dreamcasts on the shelf, and I'd assume video/power cords.

Doing a quick Google, it seems the power cord is of the standard appliance variety, so finding one should be a snap.

Not sure how you would get this test done for a 2 and 3 year old, but there is this kit for testing for nicotine.

If not a solar charger, maybe you can load up on some nicotine mini lozenges?

Not a perfect solution, but lets you keep up with your nicotine fix without power.

I keep a few with me (transferred to an empty Tic-Tac box) when I am out in case I am in a situation where vaping is either inconvenient or would cause a problem, sort of an 'in case of emergency, break glass' kind of thing, and nobody cares if you eat Tic-Tacs.

These are the ones I got from Amazon, and are cheaper than the Nicorette brand:

2mg - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DJOWQ7Y

4 mg - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GJ6OFLE

They have worked well for me in my usage scenario, but when I am out of range of the evil eye (or back home, if I chose to not take a vaping device), vaping feels like such a pleasure once again.

Checkout Honeyrose Farmers. It's all kinds of herbs and is nic free. I've never had it, a pouch got misdelivered to me, but it looks interesting.

Mini Nicorette Nicotine Lozenge to Stop Smoking, 4mg, Mint Flavor, 81 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0036WTVHC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_mU34CbZ14VRYC

Looks like Nicorette bought them out since I quit (it's been 12 years). Like anything, there's side effects. I never experienced anything beyond the milder ones (occasional heartburn, mouth irritation, etc).

Anyway, it's what finally worked for me... your mileage may vary.

u/gogogadgt · 2 pointsr/Nootropics

These lozenges are the best you'll find: https://www.amazon.com/Habitrol-Nicotine-Lozenge-Flavor-Lozenges/dp/B00UO1G2AM/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1506303642&sr=1-4&keywords=nicotine+lozenge

Comes in 1 / 2mg which is good for non-smokers. Made by Novartis (Pharma company) in Switzerland. Extremely high quality. It's what I use.

u/Blue2501 · 2 pointsr/ChapoTrapHouse

If you're looking for NRT stuff I like the 2mg mini lozenges. 4mg mini lozenges burn like hell, big lozenges are like a mouthful of chalk, gum sucks, patches itch and fall off if you sweat, and chantix makes you wanna die. (all IMO).

u/PimpinNinja · 2 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

I just found this on Amazon.

Depends on what the test is for. Some are mandatory no-smoking requirements. Some are just for insurance purposes. You'll have to check with the hiring manager to see what the deal is and why they would even test for that in the first place. Maybe ask under the disguise of saying you were in the process of quiting, if need be.

You can get them from smoke shops. Or online. And no, you warm them up some place near by the test location like 7-11. They come with those hand warmer things that you squeeze and last for a few hours. Rubber band them to the bottle and it'll keep it warm enough until the test usually. They normally have a stick on thermometer on the bottle. So if it's too hot, just let it cool down before you pour it into the cup and turn it in.

Alternatively, you could try to test yourself before hand. With something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Nicotine-Tobacco-Test-Kit-Pack/dp/B004KAQ3RA Maybe from CVS or something.

It's a disposable cigarette filter. Catches more of the tar to supposedly make the cigarette a "safer smoke." Hunter S. Thompson regularly smoked Dunhill cigarettes with a filter like the one linked above, though usually with a longer stem.

u/Aculanub · 2 pointsr/Wetshaving

Do whatever works for you. For me, I tried vaping and it worked ok but I always ended up going back to cigarettes. I did that for years.

I had to break the oral fixation and going out to to smoke.

These mini lozenges were a life saver.

It helped me break the habit. I'd went through a ton of them. There would be so much nicotine I'd get nauseous and spit em out. I started using one whenever I had a craving and eventually moved to a tentative schedule.

I honestly planned on using them forever. One day, a few months down the road I just stopped to see how it went. Im over 2.5 years smoke free.

I recommend them to everyone. They might not be for you but they could help a little. If you do buy some, get the mini ones. The large ones are awful.

Good luck! You can do it!

I don't own this yet, but I will soon enough to replace my existing multiscrewdriver. I had been looking for a leatherman with a pentalobe screw, but I couldn't find one. I looked top to bottom, this is the best thing I can find to keep clipped on the inside of my right pocket for general computer/mobile device repair.

iOpener. I don't have this exact product, but something close enough to it. Recently used it at my new job to open up an iPad 3 cracked digi, easiest and quickest way I've ever opened an iPad, didn't nick the WiFi cable or anything. Way better than the heatgun and spudger I was using at my last job, way less of a mess to clean up too.

Shame on me, but one of these in the middle or towards the end of the day keeps me motivated.

u/Infin1ty · 2 pointsr/electronic_cigarette

>I have never tried either, but aren't patches and gum pretty pricy?

Not so much now that generics are out. When Nicorette was all you could get, they were ridculous, but now they're fairly cheap.

Just a few examples:

Gum, 4mg, 96 pieces, $20

Patches, level 1, 21mg, 14 patches. $25

u/ratking11 · 1 pointr/pics

I been doing this for a while. It's great.

Mini Lozenges

u/Adderkleet · 1 pointr/ireland

I assumed you were not being brand specific. I'm guessing fewer places sell Nicotinell.

Amazon has the fruity Nicontinell on sale. The 2mg Mint is also reduced. Both are eligible for free shipping if you buy £25 of stuff.
The mint lozenges cannot be shipped to Ireland (strange), but the gum can.

Something like this i mean.

What aromatic pipe tobacco do you recommend? And where to find it?

Edit: i dont mind some nicotine as long as it is not alot (like in a regular cigarette)

u/Jahosafats · 1 pointr/trees

I'm wondering this myself.

I've seen this in some smoke shops and wondered if it'll work well for rolling.

Get the Cotinine test strips off amazon. Pay the $12 or so bucks and get 20-30. I believe the levels they are looking for is less than 200ng/dL in your system. Test everyday in the mornings.

I had to do this for an employer once. Didn’t take the job because IMO that’s just a bit too far. There are lots of cessation devices out there (patches, toothpicks, gum) that can be used even if you’ve never/don’t smoke.

If they are doing a blood test they maybe looking for a number of things. Actual nicotine, cotinine, or anabasine. Anabasine will only show up from tobacco use. Also depends on if they do

Qualitative testing: It simply looks for whether or not you have nicotine in your body.

or

Quantitative testing: It actually measures the concentration of nicotine or cotinine in your body. It gives more information about your tobacco habits. It can tell whether you’re an active smoker or if you’ve recently quit. If you’re not a tobacco user, it can tell if you’ve been breathing in a lot of tobacco smoke or not.

If you use a mentholated juice it’s can be detected even longer.

Cotinine is also fat soluble so if your a bigger person it can take longer.

I’m a bigger guy and it took 19 days for my tests to show up 100% negative no question urine wise. I was using 3mg and also using 35mg nic salts occasionally.

So what does all this mean? I would stop at least 30 days before your test. Drink a lot of water and exercise any time you can. Use 0mg nic and avoid any stressful situations if at all possible. The first 7 days were ok for me but after that I got hella irritable at the smallest things.

This is a good read although semi inaccurate.

https://www.webmd.com/smoking-cessation/taking-nicotine-test

These are the strips I used. Don’t have to use the seller but that’s what they look like. Don’t fall for the $10 five packs either.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004KAQ3RA/ref=mp_s_a_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1538844091&sr=8-4&keywords=cotinine+urine+test&dpPl=1&dpID=41b0Qx1yr-L&ref=plSrch

Hope all this helps. Drink lots of water the day of the test and if all else fails... tell them you boss smokes and you have to be around him/office or in a space where your exposed to second hand smoke a lot.

u/GrandmasterGraves · 1 pointr/StopDipping

Yeah at least here in Iceland we have a thing called Kick up. It's just a alternative pouch with vitamins and coffeine, no nicotine. I bet you can find something similar.

https://www.amazon.com/Smokey-Mountain-Refreshing-Smokeless-Alternative/dp/B00AB23V6M

u/siac4 · 1 pointr/StopDipping

I wish you the best of luck. I'm about 6 weeks in and two boxes of these have really helped me. most of the time 1 piece is enough but sometimes I load up on 3 or 4.

u/WootenHaus · 1 pointr/dogecoin

If you find yourself going back, or anyone looking to quit, try Stop It Smoking. It seriously saved my life.

Edit: and congratz!!

I get that but I never really understood how people without access to lots of money engage in what can only be considered the luxury of smoking. If you only smoke 1 pack a day, we are talking about $60-$70 per week. I spend less on my internet per MONTH and that's something that's actually important and isn't giving me cancer. I mean, shit, buy a fucking e-cigarette.

EDIT: Wow downvoted into oblivion for pointing out that smokers waste tons of money. Whatever - I'm gonna go enjoy my extra $3k per year I DIDN'T waste while not having cancer, not being a terrible parent, and not draining our medical system of necessary resources that would be better spent on someone who didn't totally suck.

EDIT: Apparently my comment was considered off-topic. For those who give a shit, You can get 96 pieces of nicotine gum from amazon for $20 which is equivalent to 348 cigarettes. At $9 for 20 cigs, cigarettes cost 1000% the price of nicotine gum. I would expect that pregnant women who smoke would do a little research that took me all of 30 seconds.
