I need some food. :)

I (finally) have my second interview for a job next week but as of right now I have no income aside from a lawn-mowing gig once every 10 days.

I'm not starving or anything, as I am able to get leftovers from friends and family pretty regularly. Sometimes they even cook for me! I also have access to a vegetable garden. It would just be nice to be able to put some food in my pantry as all I have in there right now are some granola bars and chicken broth.

Thanks for the contest. You are fantastic!

:edit: THANK YOU /u/androidchrist for the ramen :3 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

u/quick_quip_whip · 5 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

this is not a palindrome...this is a 12 pack of ramen that costs 10,000 plus shipping.

It's just really average ramen, you guyz.

And here's my face

Maruchan - Seimen Japanese Instant Ramen Noodles Miso Taste 18.5oz (For 5 Bowls) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009Q2SPGY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_BEgoDbFJZE8A6

Alright! I'm going to list a bunch of different types, so bear with me here. This is a copy paste of something I made for another reddit post asking about things, but I put a ton of work into it so I kinda want to reuse it, haha. Let me know if there's any specifics you want!--

If you're looking for a more classic, almost like Top Ramen kind of tastes, I recommend these: Sapporo Ichiban

They're basically just tastier Top Ramen, in my opinon. If you want to fancy it up a bit and go a little deeper into "classic" ramen tastes, then go with this: Nissin Black Garlic Oil Tonkotsu

Speaking of Tonkotsu, do you like a richer Tonkotsu flavor? Then this is what you'll want to try! Myojo Charumera Ramen Tokotsu Shoyu

A bit too high calorie? Want something lighter, non-fried, but still has some delicious Tonkotosu flavor and a firmer chew? Then try Nissin Raoh!

It also comes in the Soy Sauce and Miso flavors, or even Shio if you're looking for that!

Japanese not your thing? Want to try some Korean Ramyun? Neoguri Spicy Seafood might be your thing!

But like some szechuan spice with some authentic ma la flavor that numbs your mouth? Why not try our JML Instant Noodle Artificial Spicy Hot Beef Flavor? P.S. The "artifical" is a bad translation of the ma la flavor

What about some southeast asian flavors? Nothing like Mama Tom Yum flavor to brighten up your day! These are smaller packet, just something to keep in mind. They also make Shrimp creamy Tom Yum and Artifical Pa-Lo Duck Flavor if you're into that!

Speaking of which, let's get some Laksa and Penang in here! MyKuali Penang White Curry is a very delicious, but kind of shrimp funky kind of flavor, but it's definitely worth a try! The entire MyKuali line is very good!

What about something a bit more on the more luxurious side, but also has that same fermented shrimp funk? Why not Prima Taste Laksa La Mian with coconut broth?

And if we want to go into the more expensive, more authentic ramen taste, there's Ichiran instant ramen, which is expensive, but pretty close to an actual authentic bowl of Ichiran Tonkotsu Ramen!

I hope this helped, and let me know if there's anything else you'd like to try, and I can give recommendations! I also recommend going to a local asian supermarket and browsing their instant ramen section-- Amazon only carries the more popular ones, and there are truly some delicious hidden gems that you can only get in asian grocery stores!

Maruchan Ramen Picante Chicken, 3.0 Oz, Pack of 24 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003OB4BOS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_z3OQDbGJ4XAGJ

I appreciate it but I should've added "also cost effective". That's $6.40 a serving vs the original top ramen .57 a serving

u/bookwench · 3 pointsr/ramen

order online here or here or here

dunno if this is what you wan? the first link seems cheapest but I didn't check shipping prices. Shipping prices will kill you.

u/oli2tup · 3 pointsr/ramen

Depends on what you want.

Soup based #2 for me: MARUTAI Hakata Nagahama Tonkotsu anything from MARUTAI is AMAZING

Instant Indomie #1 for me: Mi GorenG almost anything from indomie is really good.

Spice and pure sadistic heat: Samyang Extra Spicy

I hope this helps. :)

EDIT

Read your post again, i missed the mark. To import food in general from japan i use this site

u/zoxcat · 3 pointsr/VeganFood

I know you want to make your own, but this is my favorite. I buy it by the box. It comes with an oil packet, a seasoning packet and a spice packet. If you use the entire spice packet you will be on fire.

That's 둥지냉면 by Nongshim. It's a good product.

However, you should try naengmyeon products that come in these bigger, refrigerated packages. I don't have a particular one to recommend. It could be pricey so shop around. Personally, I prefer 물냉면 over 비빔냉면.

---

Outside of naengmyeon, you could try 콩국수. I've only tried this one from Ottogi.

u/Infin1ty · 2 pointsr/videos

I picked this up a few years back and it was far superior to anything that Maruchan has ever put out. I've heard the Nissin RAOH is even better.

u/FeckTad · 2 pointsr/pics

Did you use this brand of noodle? If so kudos. These are a great dry "ramen", especially when you crack an egg on them. Apprently in Indonesia they eat the noodle/egg combo for breakfast.

u/Suwon · 2 pointsr/korea

You can buy the noodles on Amazon. I have never heard of anyone making their own buckwheat noodles (메밀국수). Everyone just buys dried noodles at the store.

u/FrugalChef13 · 2 pointsr/povertyfinance

Do you have a crock pot? If you don't, that's likely the best way to spend these $15 for long-term easier cheaper food. Amazon Warehouse Deals is the best place to look (imo). The Crock-Pot SCR300-SS 3-Quart Manual Slow Cooker, Silver is $15.67 right now but there are a bunch of other options too. It makes cooking dry beans a lot easier, and is just overall a great kitchen tool for spending less money on food and making cooking simpler.

If food is the thing you need most, here's what I'd buy personally (I don't live anywhere near a whole foods, and Amazon Fresh is not available in my area). I'm focusing on convenience foods for this because the real basics- rice, beans, oats, flour, are at least twice as expensive on Amazon (for me) in comparison to local options. The three items listed below are the same price or cheaper on Amazon as they are locally, and total $14.02 .

u/rtwpsom2 · 2 pointsr/guns

I typically use Sapporo Ichiban if I can find it, regular Maruchan if not. If I'm feeling really adventurous I use Hime noodles and make my own broth with 6 cups chicken broth, 1 TBSP fish sauce, and 1 TBSP soy sauce for a 12 oz packet of noodles. You can add thing s like ginger, garlic, scallops, whatever, but I usually don't. I make the broth and noodles separately, then combine and add the eggs.

Unfortunately it seems like Mitsuwa stopped doing deliveries the year I left town, but look for something like the ajinomoto ramen from here https://puu.sh/BtHYZ/eb19795084.png for something frozen

These are dried, but not fried, and also have very good tasting tonkotsu soup bases

https://www.amazon.com/MARUTAI-Nagahama-Tonkotsu-Non-fried-servings/dp/B00SW6VLI4/ref=sr_1_21_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1536746715&sr=8-21&keywords=tonkotsu+ramen

https://www.amazon.com/Marutai-Speciality-Kagoshima-Berkshire-Tonkotsu/dp/B018QB3G64/ref=sr_1_3_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1536747278&sr=1-3&keywords=MARUTAI++tonkotsu+ramen

I prefer the frozen fare for shoyu ramen but Marutai does a damn good job on its tonkotsu soup bases

u/mrs_jellyfish · 2 pointsr/spicy

Is it this one? This one is actually Thai, but the packaging, the two flavor packets, and the spiciness seem to fit your description. If this is it, it can be found here in a chicken green curry flavor or here in regular green curry flavor. These ones have one powder flavor packet and one liquid flavor packet. I'm don't think the noodles are rice noodles though. Here is a review I found for the chicken green curry one, with photos. Other reviews I've found say it is much more spicy than this one says it is.

u/ineverwinanything · 2 pointsr/shittyfoodporn

Have you bought the [cheddar] (https://www.amazon.com/Maruchan-Yakisoba-Cheddar-3-96-Ounce-Packages/dp/B0025UMAZQ?ie=UTF8&*Version*=1&*entries*=0) bowl by that brand? It's surprisingly dangerously good........!

u/lrgmnky · 2 pointsr/Reds

Get this. It's "expensive" for ramen but it's actually pretty good stuff.

u/themangeraaad · 1 pointr/keto

You can find 6-packs of the stuff (for like $35-$40) on amazon. I'm going to check out the local whole foods markets and if I can't find any there I'll probably resort to buying online. I just hate buying something in bulk without trying it first...

u/kevn150 · 1 pointr/Ultralight

Got tired of the conventional backpacking meals. Tried mixing things up with green curry. It's so good that it's hard to believe it's a backpacking meal:

-1 of these

-some powdered coconut milk

-dried thai chilis

-freeze dried bell peppers

-freeze dried cilantro

Dump all of it in a pot, pour over the water, bring to a boil. That simple.

u/Kenmoreland · 1 pointr/ramen

The standard size is 2.25 ounces, about 65 grams. Nissin, Samyang and Tapatio make "big cups" that are 105 grams or about 3.7 ounces or larger.

I found these examples on Amazon to show them, but the prices may not be the best.

u/kabir424 · 1 pointr/recipes

Why isn't Amazon any help? Here is a packet of rice noodles that seems of decent quality. Your best bet is certainly an Asian store but if you don't have any around then this might be a last resort.

u/vanillaScoop · 1 pointr/ramen

Do you mean you want a better noodle block?
If so I'd recommend Nongshim Shin Raman

Or do you mean a better noodle for a home-made soup base?
If so, and noting your Amazon requirement, I would say a rice noodle stick such as: http://www.amazon.com/Royal-Elephant-Brand-Stick-Noodles/dp/B002UMHTNM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1397941680&sr=8-1&keywords=rice+stick+noodles

I'm sure everyone has their own favourite brands and, ultimately, I prefer the non-dried noodles. However, in a pinch, I'd happily use either of the above.

Daiya mac and cheese

Pho!

These amazing caramel macaroons

The Glutino oreos are good, I just wish they didn't have palm oil!

u/widgetjam · 1 pointr/ramen

I'd go for something like this. Add all your favorite ramen toppings and you're good to go! Remember, Human Beings are Noodle Beings.

u/HowIsYourDay · 1 pointr/JapaneseFood

I love it with the goma dare (sesame).
I got some instant ones off of amazon

u/charmed2 · 1 pointr/Fitness

A friend likes black bean noodles better...I haven't tried them because I can't find them locally in California. She gets hers in Whole Foods in NY. The taste and texture are supposed to be good. You can take a look here

http://www.amazon.com/Exas-Spaghetti-Black-Bean-7-05-Ounce/dp/B004JXXVFU/ref=sr_1_1?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1346302612&sr=1-1&keywords=black+bean+noodles

u/ChucklesManson · 1 pointr/glutenfree

The GF ramen noodles others are talking about are these, by Lotus Foods : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HKIBEEG/ref=s9_dcacsd_dcoop_bw_c_x_3_w

They are much less expensive at Costco. It's a 6-pack of plain ramen noodles. Lotus sells them in individual packs with the salty flavors also.

u/DancingDaruma · 1 pointr/ramen

You need to try Nissin's Raô line of products, kind of the premium line compared to the everyday fare of Demae icchô. The noddles are dried rather than deep-fried for preservation and thus feel and taste much better. The broth (in the case of shoyu and miso ramen at least) is a liquid concentrate rather than a powder.

u/sticky-bit · 1 pointr/Survival

Yea, you're talking about the good stuff. I like this brand https://www.amazon.com/Vifon-Noodle-Bowl-Beef-Ounce/dp/B00G9Y9UAC/ and it works well for emergency rations or bug-out bags too because it comes with a cheap plastic bowl that could come in handy later. The only problem is eating it out of emergency storage without buying replacements first.

Nope, I'm talking about the cheap stuff which you can get for under twenty cents in 12-packs. They don't taste too good and you can eat them "raw" right out of the package.

u/imandroo · 1 pointr/ramen

Maruchan Seimen is also good. Fantastic noodles. Don't know if they have it in bowl form.
