I would go for the remote control and buy this stick from Amazon.

I've owned and broken lots of selfie sticks, until I got an Anker one. The build quality is superb, fits the S7 perfectly, even with a thick case on. I can't recommend it enough!

I know selfie sticks aren't cool. But the phone mount unscrews to reveal a standard tripod mount, which you could use in conjunction with any tripod you desire, such as the GorillaPod designed for heavier SLRs.

It's a cheap piece of plastic so it may not be super durable but it leaves the volume rocker alone. I'm potentially shooting a real estate video with one of these and a professional tripod/camera slider.

sorry to hear that, how about something like this 6P Selfie Stick? I know nothing about these to really be any useful but that's what i found from a quick google search

I bought this one for $12 and it works great. So far 4 people have used it, including me, and it still holds up well.

Going with their idea, $8 (for grey not black) for the best selling selfie stick on Amazon with Prime. At just over 2 feet, I'd say that's the way to go. Definitely keep it secure as they said.

I have my DK2 camera screwed to the end of a selfie stick which is attached to my monitor stand. This has the advantage that I can easily adjust the height of the camera (for when I am standing or sitting), as the selfie stick is telescopic. I plan to use the same stick for my CV1.
