This means that you can create a Google Home Max with an ordinary TV sound bar and the Home Mini. For example, the Yamaha ATS-1060-R is my current recommendation. I have one attached to my TV via ARC so it powers up and down with it, and another separate sound bar unit in the center of the house for music only duty.

Gee here is another one with perfect 5 stars and a ton of reviews from March 16th that also read like marketing copy.
Here are some thoughts on this.
Here are a few options to consider.
Not really looking at everything, right?
How about this
Using fakespot.com it looks like most of the reviews are real, and price tracking shows that while it did go up prior to it's price today about two weeks ago, it's current price is still $100 off it's previous lowest. Plus, since I'm prime this qualify's for an extra 20% back if I use my Prime card to pay for it, that's another $60 off. Seems like a pretty good deal.

I got a vizio 5.1 system, I connect it to my TV with the HDMI (ARC) to the system, works great!
Edit// VIZIO SB4551-D5 Smartcast 45” 5.1 Slim Sound Bar System This is what I got, pretty awesome especially since the sub and satellite speakers are wireless (meaning no wires coming out the main soundbar to the other speakers, but you do need connect power to the sub and there you run the cables for the satellite speakers)
Depends on your budget and how fancy you get. My entire setup was under $1300. I got the TCL 65r617 Roku TV for about $1000, the VIZIO SB3621n-F8M soundbar for $180, plus about $100 for a stand to mount it on. Granted it's not the fanciest TV and it's only a 2.1 system, but I find it to work wonderfully for my uses.

I have this one and I like it:
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0076U29LK
I use the bluetooth connection to stream music from my tablet and it works great for movies and games on the TV. It's plenty loud to fill my smallish living room. The only thing I wish it had that it doesn't is a headphone jack. I had to buy a wireless headphone set for my PS3 because of that.
I can't really say much about sound quality. I'm sure it doesn't sound as good as a real high-end system, but it's way more compact and costs less too. Really easy to install too since you can just sit it in front of your display.
Oh wow. It's interesting that the headphone jack fits in it, thought I do feel pretty stupid now. Do these speakers have the coaxial digital out? http://www.amazon.com/Philips-CSS2123B-F7-SoundBar-Speakers/dp/B007B5WHTE/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1395107787&sr=8-6&keywords=sound+bar
If your budget is really $1500 then by the time you buy the TV, furniture, cables, etc. you'll only have around $500 left for audio. At that price range a proper 5.1 setup is definitely out. Here is what I would consider:
What's the dillio on my nigga Kuhn, whose was falsely imprisoned for exposing the illuminati(BroJo) and shieet? When will he be sentenced, and can we sign him up for the Vizio catalogue?
Edit: better yet, why not send him a little care package once he is all settled and cozy in his penitenciary, I think the Amazon route might be the best since it avoids the package being returned bc of some suspicious adress such as Uncle Paul's Playhouse.

5.1 soundbar. There's only a few out there. If your in a small room the vizio 5.1 sounds really good. The Bluetooth subwoofer goes behind your couch and the rear surround speakers are wired to it so you don't have to run wires all over. you can really feel the bass without rattling the house down. 1 wire coming out of your audio out in your tv and your done. Mine sounded better then a denon and klipsch system I replaced it with. The bass isnt that great, but the way you feel it through the couch at low volumes really adds to the experience. People in this sub hate soundbars, but if your in a small room then give it a try. You can always return it and there's no wires to run. You can literally set it up with full surround sound in like 5 minutes. And if you want the very best with a $300 - 500 budget (No Dolby Atmos) with the same main features as the Vizio soundbar, then I'd go with either Sony or Sonos (Playbase).

A number of possible solutions. Your TV has optical sound out. So you will need something to convert the optical digital sound signal to an analog signal (DAC). Then you will need something to amplify the analog signal to drive a speaker (amp). Then of course the speaker itself.
Here are some possible solutions:

I just bought this. It sounds very good, and has a deep base. Which was great playing the Destiny Beta. You can connect it up with an optical cable.
I also own this set

They work great for the price, but they don't have an optical port on them. Just to warn you when it comes to surround sounds, you do get what you pay for. The more your willing to pay the better system you can get.

Bro, I have a looked for a lot of soundbar solutions. The ones I really want are stupid expensive. But then again so was this sonos setup and it's wasted so much of my time trying to work around what amounts to an inferior product as far as audio codec support in 2019/20 - even on the sonos beam with an HDMI arc connection.
This article as some good options. In all my research it seems the vizio sound bars are the best value. I had one and wasn't pleased with the audio. I loved sonos because the audio was fantastic and the footprint was perfect in my limited space. Some of these other soundbars have great audio support, but goddamn they are long lol. Like too long for my current setup. The samsung bar at the top of the article is my favorite so far and decently priced used on Amazon.
Sonos either needs to include DTS and DD Plus support or they need to cut their prices to reflect their inferior surround setup. They may be music first, but there's lots of folks (look at the sonos forum) who were like "WTF sonos, where's the DTS at least?!" Some kept their hardware and used an xbox one or apple tv to force transcode audio to 5.2 (provided the fucking TV wasn't an issue passing audio through), and others ditched sonos for another solution.
I''m getting an LG OLED TV this weekend and I prefer to not have to worry about this audio crap. If it doesn't work out, I'm ditching sonos completely and for good for another solution. I've kept my current TV for so long because I didn't want to deal with this crap again, but here we are.
Thank you for your response.
As a matter of fact I was just looking to buy the Vizio 5.1 soundbar (https://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-SB4551-D5-Smartcast-Sound-System/dp/B01G3STJTK/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1482356225&sr=1-2&keywords=vizio+smartcast).
I thought it was more than enough for my small room and it has the good looks and the wireless sub bonus.
Hows your experience with it? Recommended over your other denon+monoprice?
Thoughts....
I don't own this as my speakers are discontinued.... but something for you to research.

I'm very happy with my Samsung HW-MS660.
This line of soundbars has as good as bass as one can reasonably get without a dedicated subwoofer.
It hits the other Points too like 4k pass through With HDR.
The price on Amazon right now is around 350$ which is OK, but can occasionally be found on sale for around $250-300 which is a bargain.
Everyone here is hating on sound bars pretty hard... While I have and prefer speakers myself for Atmos, sound bars have their place and they make some pretty damn good ones these days. OP can't be running speakers where he is. He said space is limited.
Sony has a great Atmos sound bar:
https://www.amazon.com/Sony-Sound-Bar-Speaker-HT-Z9F/dp/B0793HNSQG
You can even add rear speakers to it if you like. It's expensive... But it does a great job at mimicking the height audio. While it's not going to be as good as actual height, don't let the elitists in this sub hold you back!
https://youtu.be/5DK-fVDluj8
Note that the LTT video is a showcase. Meaning it's sponsored by Sony. But Linus has had good things to say about this bar... And that dude is picky as hell when it comes to AV stuff.
It doesn't sound like you care about surround speakers. If that's the case, spend a few extra dollars and get the SB4031-D5 rather than the SB3851-D0. The newer version of the sub definitely sounds better and feels punchier (if that's even a word).
Whichever way you go, definitely get a center channel. It makes a huge difference in intelligibility.
Based on my impression that you will mainly be using your soundbar for TV, gaming, movies, etc., I would recommend either getting the Vizio sb4451 5.1 system ($399) or Nakamichi Shockwafe Pro 7.1 system ($499). Both of them have rear surround speakers so at least you will be able to hear surround effects coming from behind you for a better surround sound experience versus 2.0/2.1/3.1 speakers. Don't be annoyed soundbar haters, I'm just trying to help someone out here :P
https://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-SB4451-C0-SmartCast-Sound-System/dp/B01GES2QOY
https://www.amazon.com/Nakamichi-Shockwafe-Wireless-Subwoofer-Satellite/dp/B019RD7LY8/
For the soundbar, they're generally not recommended on this sub.
That being said, if you absolutely have to have one and don't want recommendations for a receiver/speaker setup, Vizio is probably the best value for the money. This 3.1 model is $220 and will have a wireless sub.
As for the switch you posted, that won't work for your setup because it only has 3 inputs. You want one that does 4X1, which will be something like this.

In an honest attempt to helpful, I'd use this tool to check price history on anything on Amazon:

In a less necessary, telling you what you've already heard kind of way - don't buy that, or any soundbar over $50. A $500 budget can get you some really nice speakers, if you're to get a soundbar go cheap because that's the only reason to get one.
Yes, Vizio might be a better choice, unfortunately I don't think they are sold in India. Sellers in Amazon India are having it, but they are really expensive - the basic one is 3 times of what I paid for Xiaomi in India.

^it’s this one.
How do I do a factory reset? I did the “press Bluetooth and volume down for 5 seconds” and the white dotted lights started flashing and then I restarted the soundbar... but the issue still persists... the sound suddenly goes low and then high continuously
Thanks a lot, I know wired ones are much better but i do not want wires that go back in the middle of the room, i found couple actually but not sure yet, as the reviews are so confusing and people have different reviews in different websites
VIZIO SB4451-C0 SmartCast 44" 5.1 Sound Bar System
Sony BDVN5200W 1000W 5.1 Channel Full HD Blu-ray Disc Home Theater System
Honestly Im confused between those two, however I like the soundbar more, Vizio is releasing new one i guess soon
If you just want to supplement TV audio, something like this would be perfect IMO. Definitely recommend the standalone sub.
If you want front or front and back speakers, you can pay more.
But for < $200, something like above is a no brainer IMO.
I have this Vizio 3.1 sound bar. I think it sounds good for the money but what I love is that it has Chromecast Audio built in.

Today's TVs focus so much on visual quality; the built-in speakers really don't offer much in comparison to external speakers. Sounds bars can simulate surround sound fairly well have a more balanced EQ output. As for surround sound sets, in this price range it's really a matter of quality or quantity. Do you want a less speakers that sound better? Or do you want more speakers that aren't as high in quality? I picked a sound bar because of the virtualized surround capabilities and there are less wires involved. I'm very happy with my decision. Instantly improves gaming and movie experiences.
This is the one I have:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C2MBTK4/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_a-8sub0NWBHB0
You can probably find a soundbar around a 100-120 (combined) watts of power that would do it for you in your price range. Look for a sub with 50-60 watts and 2 speakers each pushing at least 20(3 could push less, but 20 is about where you'll want to be) should cover anyone who wants to listen to it, within your desired range. You could theoretically go without the sub, especially for just talk, but you'll lose some of the punch, even if it's imperceptible to you standing next to it.
This one is a little more than your price range, but look for similar ones. I personally have that one and it pumps.
You could find something like /u/Alphamazing linked, as long as it has enough power (along the lines of what I mentioned), you should be fine.
12-15 watts per speaker would likely be enough, but you'd have to push those speakers pretty hard constantly. Which will shorten the speakers life tremendously. The benefit of the sound bar, you could make a bracket and mount the bar itself on the tent, preferably higher up, which would help with the projection, as people are the best sound absorbers around. Get the sound above them, it'll carry much better.
I'm pretty uneducated in the audiophile community so I thought I would ask for some help.
What is your budget?
$300-450 (US)
What are you looking for?
Was originally looking for a cheaper soundbar and sub to listen to music first, TV second. Seems most sub $200 sound bars were pretty meh. Best Buy has an open box SK10Y soundbar (Amazon Link) at about $400. The idea of chrome-cast/WiFi streaming on the soundbar so that it can play music while I'm on a phone call ect. is the most appealing aspect to me.
I began thinking for this much money though maybe I could do a better setup that would be able to include something like the chrome cast/WiFi music streaming?
What gear do you own?
none/4K TV
What do you intend on using for a source?
music streaming and some Netflix
What material will you be using your gear for?
Music/TV: Mainly rap and then rock and a little pop. Then some Netflix.
Movies: Occasional DVD through Xbox one.
Are you willing to buy used?
Yes
Thanks in advance!
