I'm thoroughly addicted to the 100mg Stay Alert caffeine gum (now called Military Energy Gum) after getting it in a First Strike Ration
. The cinnamon flavor tastes like a cinnamon butthole, but that's a way better flavor than a mint butthole.

u/FellofftheSpiral · 6 pointsr/fasting

Yep. Drank only water and occasionally herbal teas w/ 0 calories. Also supplemented electrolytes with this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078T93T3C/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_EKZYCbM41WXYA

I wonder if they would allow us to bring in electrolyte packets for yourselves, since they are for safety. A little late for me anyway as I forget to order them.

That grey bottle looks like something else. Chalk is the reddish bottle at around 0:47 below the Samsung up for display.

Tracksmith is doing spend $250, get a $50 gift card.

Amazon (as of 3 PM PST 11/20) has Double Expresso Clif gels 24 ct for 17.

Tailwind also comes in stick packs that might work better for you. I've carried a stick pack or two in my pack for ultras so I could mix a fresh bottle at an aid station.

u/dfiner · 3 pointsr/diabetes

There's also glucose gels which are easy to get (often used by long distance runners) which are very easy to swallow and work extremely quickly. Something like this.

u/foozlebush · 3 pointsr/aves

http://www.amazon.com/MILITARY-ENERGY-GUM-Military-Caffeine/dp/B000J2LTNQ That stuff is amazing, yawning to OMG I'M AWAKE in 2 min flat. Plus it's cheaper and less sugar :)

u/Duckycaster · 3 pointsr/triathlon

I've got both a 5.5 oz GU flask and a 5oz Salomon. Either works - the twisty top on the GU is a pain in the ass on a ride as it really requires two hands. Never got the hang of opening it with my teeth.

u/AceTheIceman · 2 pointsr/energydrinks

I've tried it before, I don't remember exactly what brand but if I recall correctly, one piece was 70mg of caffeine. I had two pieces and it tasted ridiculously bitter but I didn't notice any extra energy afterwards.

Edit: I found it, turns out it's 100mg per piece and two pieces still didn't do anything for me lol.

I drink a Nuun Sport before each session. Helps keep you hydrated and the little bump of caffeine helps with motivation.

Bring a guest with all the supplies you will need in a backpack. Water / Ice / Banana's.

Bring during race fuel. I prefer

over the goo packs. They taste really good and you can take a block off and eat it SLOWLY while leaving it tucked in your cheek. The goo packs always turn my stomach.

u/Zamiewithazee · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Oh man, so we gotta find the characters AND the extras in the scene? There goes breakfast time :T

EDIT: FINISHED & PM'D! :3

If we're going to be reasonable here, I'd love to be able to make decent coffee, but if <$10 is preferred, energy gum would be good too! :) Thank you for the contest, it was super fun!

u/Jeanne23x · 2 pointsr/orangetheory

I used to have issues working out early in the morning. Caffeinated gummies helped. I got the caffeine, and I got a burst of carbs for energy, and it never upset my stomach.

Here's an example: http://amzn.to/2tK9QOQ

I still use the Clif Bar Blocks (or the Stingers) when I'm doing a 90 minute class that starts at noon. It's late enough that I need something to eat, but I still don't want to put food in my stomach.

u/GymIsFun · 2 pointsr/steroids

Anyone ever tried this tudca? 300mg per as opposed to the normal 250 I see

u/Frackenbrau · 2 pointsr/Homebrewing

Its all good dude, for electrolytes I like to use capsule's like these. Makes it easy and you dont have to figure out ratios on your own. You can by them seperately as Magnesium citrate, Potassium Citrate, and you can Get Sodium from kosher or Pink himilayan sea salt. Sea salt is good because it contains other trace minerals as well. For Muscle recovery Glutamine and BCAA's are amazing.

I'm no excercise elitist either. We love doing bike rides to brewerys and back. I just save the recovery until i'm done drinking. I've found that to be pretty effective.

u/madirap99 · 2 pointsr/running

Thanks for your post !! I would say you are HelloOfAGoodGuy :). I had similar issues and still not able to figure out what is the issue. I had gone once to emergency room not knowing what was happening to me and gave me IV and discharged me after few hours and had few episodes of severe headaches, all of these episodes after a hard run in sun/heat. One surprising thing is that it I get these headaches/hangover like symptoms after couple of hours after my runs. I did wonder whether I had blood sugar problem but I since taking Salt tablets ( polyfit electrolyte tablets) and nuun after and before my runs and no episode since then. Still figuring out what is the right amount ?

Question : I like the idea of Pedialyte but seems little expensive and wondering whether are any natural alternatives.

u/stranglerz · 2 pointsr/bjj

sometimes when I dont have enough fruit that day ill take a couple of these https://www.amazon.com/CLIF-BLOKS-Energy-Chews-Cherry/dp/B007X5BNFQ/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1467776799&sr=8-1&keywords=cliff+shots+bloks

these are with caffeine. I take the one with out.

u/3FingersOfMilk · 2 pointsr/Fitness

There's this T6 stimulant on Amazon that has teacrine it and providers a good kick. I was presently surprised.

Edit: Here's a link.

u/flaminglasrswrd · 2 pointsr/Supplements

Have you been prescribed the standard therapies? Calcium channel blockers, or maybe PDE-5 inhibitors?

It might be worth looking into beet root powder just to increase your nitrate levels. Or eat ~500g per day of nitrate veggies specifically. That's about the only supplement I can recommend.

u/chad4life · 2 pointsr/caffeine

Stacking with Theanine will make caffeine more effective (use a 1:2 ratio where you take twice as much theanine than caffeine). I’m a fan of this product: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074G3SYTT/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_c_api_i_Bp-vCbV3HKE4V

It seems like I’ve read that combining fat (e.g. butter or coconut oil) to coffee can increase the duration and strength. Can’t vouch for it personally- but check out bulletproof coffee.

u/KH10304 · 2 pointsr/Advice

For future reference you only would need half of one of these and they're like 6c a pill.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001QVCSZC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_4deRyb5T7WGAS

As far as staying awake in lecture your only option is to just take notes as hard as you can. try to write down every word your professor says.

u/hanswermhat · 1 pointr/keto

Thanks, I think I might try a little coffee or espresso with MCT next time.

Do you use anything specific for electrolytes? I bought some Dr. Price's powder on Amazon, but would be interested to hear what others use.

u/DougDimmadrol · 1 pointr/Steroidsourcetalk

I was going to get Olympus Labs on Amazon because it's the best priced, but it sounds like they switched suppliers and choose poorly, so I'm gonna try out this one since it's decently priced and has that extra 50mg/capsule

u/DeeBoFour20 · 1 pointr/todayilearned

Yea I don't see the point. I like an occasional energy drink because it's a drink and when the store puts them on sale for 2 for $3 it's about the same price as a soda.

If you just want energy without the drink, caffeine pills are SO CHEAP! That bottle could last you a month or two for $2. I'm surprised at all the people that waste money on this stuff. Plus the pills contain JUST CAFFEINE from a pharmaceutical company. I know they put some sketch stuff in energy drinks/shots that can give some people a negative reaction they wouldn't have otherwise to just caffeine. Plus caffeine probably causes 90+% of the effect you're looking for anyway.

u/kakanczu · 1 pointr/SelfDrivingCars

If you haven't slept enough but need to drive, keep some caffeine pills in your car. You can also pull over and get coffee. I'd prefer to skip spending extra for crappy coffee to just get caffeine. Each pill is about 1.5 cups of coffee. If it's a shorter drive, take half. Doesn't make me jittery or anything but I also drink a fair amount of coffee.

u/amp13 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

i've been wanting to try out this caffeinated gum, yesterday i had like 5 cups of coffee, so im interested in an alternative. Super!

u/chris-colour · 1 pointr/running

No worries, it's this stuff. It's powder you put into water. I put it into a 500ml evian-style bottle before running and carried it with me. I'd trained carrying my phone in one hand and my water bottle in another as I don't like having belts etc bobbing against me. Also, it's easier to just chuck it when it's done (this happened about 41km - I sipped it slowly throughout). Give it a go if you can!

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/keto

Well starting you can do whenever, but it can be hard. Its a mental game mostly. I realized i felt the same hunger after not eating that I did only 2 hours after eating a Big Mac large meal and 20 chicken nuggets. Its because high insulin levels cause your hunger signaling hormone called ghrelin to increase.

So i say start with 12hrs with no food. Use the time you are sleeping as part of that. And slowly train your body. This is the best guide I have found on the subject. The complete guide to water fasting besides Dr. Fung’s book called “The complete guide to fasting”

I would be happy to talk more about it, ill prepare my thoughts better. I just woke up in the middle of the night lol.

As far as supplements I just take a simple electrolyte supplement. A big thing with fasting like keto is you need plenty of sodium intake (which does not cause blood pressure issues) I would be happy to show a bunch of resources on that too. This is what I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07J478YKQ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_image

Anyways I’ll check back when its not 5am for me lol.

I really hope that helps as a start.

u/milky_donut · 1 pointr/diabetes

I use shot bloks but only if I'm coherent and am not freaked out by the low; 1-2 usually do the trick. If I'm having a frenzied low then that kinda goes out the window and I end up just drinking juice.

u/Jordo_99 · 1 pointr/Ultralight

Looking at your consumables:

  • Water -- 1L -- 35.2 oz

  • Fuel -- solid fuel tabs - qty 4 -- 1.97 oz

...are those esbit tablets for cooking or "energy gels" like BLOKS

  • Food -- 1.44 ppppd -- 38.4 oz

    What's this?
u/ellocojorge · 1 pointr/MTB

Try some of this stuff. https://www.amazon.com/CLIF-SHOT-Energy-Double-Espresso/dp/B0074CDXHE . Works great for muscle fatigue and cramps

u/trpnblies7 · 1 pointr/diabetes

If you don't already have some, you should get some glucose gel. It's super fast acting (15g per pouch), and I find them a lot easier to eat than glucose tablets.

u/ghostofpennwast · 1 pointr/Frugal

http://www.amazon.com/Equate-Compare-Alertness-Caffeine-Strength/dp/B0013U3RWY/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1382576053&sr=8-4&keywords=caffeine+pills

Equate brand at walmart is super cheap. I threw a bottle in my backpack and never looked back. A teacher whined I was dosing off, so I took one before here class every day.

I still drink tea or coffee every morning, but if you have two tests back to bsck or something, or you are in class and start to doze off, this is cheaper than some adderal or whatever. God knows how many people could probably save money and not have fake adhd anymore if they took caffeine pills.

Of note: if you put the bottle just at the bottom of your backpack, the cap will work itself loose and the pills will turn into a fine yellow dust. Keep it in a side pouch. 3 or 4 cents for an energy boost vs 2.50 and 200 plus calories.

(the story of how I got to this eas kind of crazy. I decided to buy one of those overpriced energy drinks because I was tired right? 2min before math, not time to go to the student union and get something there, so I buy one with a 5 from the vending machine. No change. I got worried about being late, so I stormed off without even getting a second one for my money. I paid 5 bucks for a 12 oz monster. That was what brought me to this. It is way healthier too, in comparison to starbucks saturated fat storms and sugar bombs. Fuck refined sugar/obesity/diabetes)

u/mynameisflorian · 1 pointr/keto

I cut out energy drink using these -- same active ingredient but without all the crap.

Also, as I said in another response, mineral water makes a great chaser for quality booze. Also, if you blow out across your tongue after taking a shot it evaporates the alcohol and reduces the urge to wash it down with something.

u/perrytferrell · 1 pointr/Fitness

I prefer the Clifs energy bloks

u/PhoenixPhyr · 0 pointsr/Fitness

I buy: (sorry I'm on mobile and am derpy about using links)

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CX9U7WM/ref=sr_ph_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1486433613&sr=sr-2&keywords=Dr.+Price%27s+Vitamins

because I don't retain water due to a lack of sodium in my diet. I keep it that way for medical reasons, and this powder helps keep me hydrated without the high amount of sodium required for me to stay hydrated properly. I use a packet in my Nalgene bottle and it works great.

u/dleroy · -2 pointsr/nba

You can clearly see the can on the table and it isn't covered in tape...
