(Part 2) Best tablet mounts according to redditors

Overnite diapers will help with long stints in the car. I had to wash basically the entire carseat after my son had a major leak through on a 2 hour stint on our vacation.


This was also a wise investment for us. I used the tablet to help distract him for longer bits and easily switched it for my phone when it needed to recharge but the cable was too short. Mine loves Super Monsters on Netflix sp we downloaded it all before we left.

Depends on the age of your kids but this was the best road trip purchase ever. My kids were able to watch movies on the tablet (Netflix lets you download them to watch online) and play the switch as well.

Tried freezing water balloons for the cooler so we could reuse them, but I'd recommend legit balloons (egg sized or so) instead in the future since they're thicker.

Use a tablet. iPad, Samsung Galaxy tablet, etc. They even make tablet holders for the controller. But be careful, apparently you can get ones that fit the Mavic/Mavic 2 and the Spark, but they won't fit the Mavic Air. I personally use and like this one

I haven't used it for very long yet but once I got it mounted and tightened up it seems to work really well. It will swing over and out of the way or I can push it down or straight back. I wrap the charging cord around the mount arm so it can go straight back to the USB converter on the 12v plug.

Also you may want to be careful with your 3D Print using the DJI logo. It would be one thing if it was for personal use. But you're now selling it, with their logo branded on it. They could sue you for copyright violations.

I recently bought one of these iPad holders for my mic stand.

I write all my lead sheets on there (I bought an Apple Pencil as well) and then can scroll through it as we play through the set!

There are some note taking apps that can respond to MIDI channel changes too, so you can change sheets from your pedalboard!

Best idea I have so far (and just thought about it after my post) is to get a Car headrest VESA mount and attach a VESA laptop tray to it. Not cheap but should be more sturdy than the plastic fantastic...

By the way, what University? You guys really use iPads to do photography? Back in my day, we had Canon New F-1's and T90's on our University newspaper, top-of-the-line stuff. Several of the newspaper staff went on to get Journalism degrees and are now pro photojournalists. Anyhow, I digress.

I haven't seen anything about the one in the trailer. There are some third party options, but none of them seem any better than a universal tablet mount. I haven't used one, so I can't speak to how well they work, but something like this (Bestrix Universal Headrest Cradle Car Mount) is probably the best you can do until they release an official one.
