Honestly it was, $25 and kept going for a while. 10/10 would buy again.

I was coming here to say this. I brush my teeth, but never long enough. The electric toothbrush has a timer, so I know when to even move to a different part of my mouth. It's made a huge difference.

I have a pretty basic Sonicare. I like it being rechargeable because most of my electric toothbrushes that aren't, become manual toothbrushes pretty quickly.

And if you buy that one, remember to click the "10.00 coupon."

I was told I had a receding gum line and would need grafts too. I got an electric toothbrush and haven't had the problem since! An electric toothbrush is also good because it helps you brush your teeth for long enough, and it typically does a better job of brushing teeth than we might do on our own (we miss spots, brush too hard, etc).

I have an Oral B brush I really like. It came with a rechargeable base and a little clock that counts down my 2 min brush time and tells me when to switch to a different part of my mouth.

Get a small, soft round brush head; those work the best. Like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00006ANDK/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The visualisation is from this Tycho set youtube video actually: https://youtu.be/dEP0Gi8kZhg

It's wonderful to listen to while tripping\^\^

Normally I use the milkdrop visualizer on winamp for other songs, it's my favorite. This is an example of what it can do: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mvqf7vvew089adn/VID_20180922_211442.mp4?dl=0

I will make a full post detailing my whole setup with info of where to buy the various stuff later tonight!

EDIT: For those reading this expecting an update on the room tour, I'm probably not gonna do that just yet because there are a few things I want to change around still and it doesn't feel completed yet, here are the links for the projector and the borealis light:

my dental hygienist had me get this toothbrush. it's the one with the gum massage feature, and a feature to make sure you aren't pressing too hard. i was OCD toothbrusher before, this totally saves me time, and it feels amazing! actually worth the money. you have to replace the brush head every 3 months. still worth it.

Yeah sure. I was posting from my phone this morning, should've added instructions of how I found it. Last night I just searched Amazon for "Type-C toothbrush".

Here are the two I've found:

Fairywill Sonic Whitening Electric Toothbrush - Travel Rechargeable Toohthbrush for Adults, 62,000 VPC Turbo Clean Model P11 Plus in Black https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07VBLQVWX/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_bPDXDbF76X5BZ

u/idie4usbc · 3 pointsr/UsbCHardware

This one here
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VPCPVBP
the seller says it can be charged with a C2C, but it also seems like they have no idea what that means, so I'd suggest trying it and returning for a refund if it doesn't.

"For standard configuration, it has a "USB to USB type C" charging cable. However, it can be charged shared by your C2C cable."

These are the ones I found and liked but I haven't placed the order yet (we're moving).

I love the travel case the hydro ones have, too. Very nice.

Is this the one you wanted to buy? http://www.amazon.com/Philips-HX5610-30-Rechargeable-Frustration/dp/B007ZN5ATQ

It's still showing available for me on USA Amazon.

The only differences seem to be the color.

Having used sonicare brushes for years, I would stay away from the models you are looking at because of the brush head design. Especially if multiple people may use it, and change brush heads, that model needs to be unscrewed and gets all gunked up with moisture.

Also, the replacement screw on heads seem to be more expensive on Amazon.

If you can swing it, look in to a model with the smaller, pull off type brush head.

For "therapeutic" effects - Pro-Medic VIS-IR Ultrasonic Electric Power Toothbrush

For "whitening" - Go Smile Sonic Blue

For lazy people - Triple Bristle Sonic Toothbrush

For whatever - PhotOral

I got the Colgate ones at the start of my Invisalign for eating out/travel and they've been great (and cheap). Colgate Value Travel Toothbrush, Soft, (Colors might vary) (Pack of 6) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003A4HSIA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_kamKyb01CDR2G

Then again, I've also used the GUM ones that you don't like and found them to be alright, so YMMV.

I could use a donut.

Happy Birthday!

I have an item that's under $4.30.

Also those toothbrush bristle head refills are rip-offs.

TOOTHBRUSH

This is the electric toothbrush I use and recommend: Sonicare Flex Care Plus. It is cheapest at Costco but comes in a pack of 2. It's important to replace the brush head every 3-4 months. Sonicare now has a subscription service to automatically send you a new brush head when it's time to replace, or you can buy the brush heads when you need them; they come out to approx $9 each on amazon but you can get 6 for $50 at Costco and they oftentimes have a $10 instant rebate. If you need to use a manual toothbrush, I recommend the Nimbus manual toothbrush. These Wisps are really handy when you can't brush after eating.

FLOSS

The floss I recommend is Dr. Tung's Smart Floss and you can use this  Floss Holder to make it easier to use. (Amazon only sells the floss in packs of 3 or 6 so if you want to purchase a single pack you can find it at Whole Foods, Bristol Farms, or Sprouts.) A Waterpik can also be a great tool, this one is a Handheld Waterpik and is more convenient to use. You can use it in the shower and it takes up less counter space.

TOOTHPASTE/MOUTHWASH

This Crest Gum and Sensitivity  paste is one of my favorites and I like Act Total Care mouthwash. When choosing a toothpaste or mouthwash, look for "sodium fluoride" as an active ingredient.  It's best to stay away from mouthwashes with alcohol in them and whitening/charcoal pastes because the abrasives in them can damage the teeth. If you use a whitening rinse with hydrogen peroxide, only use it 2-3 times per week to avoid making the gum tissue sensitive. Other than that, whatever you prefer is just fine.

WHITENING

For an inexpensive whitening treatment Crest White Strips are a good option.

Oh gosh, I still think about this to this day and feel so ignorant and terrible about it. Ugh.

So my brother was home from Afghanistan ! YAY ! My parents rented this giant house not far from base so he could come back home and just relax and party as much as he needed to. In his time there, my mom kind of "adopted" someone in his company who had no real family. Anyways he and I are just dicking around, joking and having fun. Then he says something to me like "at least I don't ____" (I forget what he teased me about) and my brilliant retort was "well, at least I don't shower with other men" which he talked about earlier as part of his time over seas. Which I'm just like duh. They're out in the desert and when do were able to shower once a month, even less, they had to group up and do it fast. But I was just so ignorant and insensitive and I feel like a dumb, little girl when I think back on that. A few months afterwards I apologized and said I was so sorry and stupid for saying that. He didn't remember what I said, but still. It was a relief to get his forgiveness.

Someone tape junigole's mouth shut!

Not sure, I get them next day with free shipping because I have prime. You can check yourself though if you don't: https://smile.amazon.com/Biodegradable-Charcoal-Toothbrushes-Compostable-Kooler-Things/dp/B07HRXYYNF

When I travel I always have a checked bag so I bring one or two straight razors with me. I have four black plastic cases that I randomly got from buying razors off Ebay which are the same size/shape as SR coffin boxes. I don't know where to get them but the closest thing I have found would be toothbrush travel cases.

For aftershaves I decant from my full size bottles to 1oz amber bottles, also called Boston rounds, that I buy from Ebay or Amazon. I use an oral irrigator as a syringe for moving AS from bottle to bottle. I found these pouches on Etsy that just do hold three bottles so I can carry a variety of AS with me and not have the bottles knocking around in my dopp bag. With the orifice reducers and caps I haven't had any problems with leaking.

Why are you guys talking about palm lathering your shaving cream? Just put a dollop on your brush and face lather, it feels so good!

Some of my favorite creams are:

  • O Melhor
  • Lavanda
  • Proraso Red (sandalwood & shea)
  • Musgo Real

I have a variety of brushes I use, some vintage (with original knots or reknotted) and some new, all small enough to fit in a Simpson small travel tube. My mainstay is a Harvard H1 (bristles get just slightly smushed in the tube) but my favorite is a vintage Ever-Ready I found, fantastic knot that really splays out for face lathering.

u/marnium · 2 pointsr/CCW

> but more like a CCW kit

  • Pelican 1050

  • Boyd Gun Rug(s) w/ Pocket; pistol(s) inside, extra mags in the side pocket

  • A couple boxes of ammo at the bottom of the Pelican

  • Throw the holster on top

  • Boresnake, travel toothbrush, small CLP squeeze bottle, and short stack of cleaning patches (10-20), all in a quart zippie-bag (aka cleaning kit).

  • Put your cleaning kit in the box, lock with non-TSA locks, and you are now airline ready (you can put your belt in your checked luggage, or wear it through security).

Yeah I kinda do. I didn't get it at first but...now I get it.

I have crazy sensitive teeth/gums and probably also brush too hard, and things seem to be better when I brush once a day with the electric (I do it at night) and morning/after lunch with a super soft brush.

A dental hygienist recommended the Nimbus brush to me a while back, so I use it or this one, depending on what's cheaper when I run out. The GUM one isn't as soft as the Nimbus but it's softer than regular soft toothbrushes.

Also, some electric toothbrushes have "sensitive" settings. I have an Oral-B from Costco and it goes a bit slower on the sensitive setting.

u/The_Molar_is_Down · 1 pointr/Dentistry

Honestly just get the base model, here

u/jc929 · 1 pointr/Ultralight

I think the only reason to cut down toothbrushes is because they are easier to pack not to save weight (maybe this is an entirely different thread). I use this travel toothbrush.

My wife and I both bought mid-level Sonicares 1.5 years ago (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CUG26Z4). Both of them broke after a year or so (the part that attaches to the heads eventually malfunctioned in different ways on both)...

We gave up and switched to a cheapo oral-b for around $40 or so, and its been great so far.

I really like coffee so a french press and this little hand grinder make me really happy every morning: https://www.amazon.com/Hario-Ceramic-Coffee-Mill-Mini-Slim/dp/B01GPMH590

It's really hot and I don't have enough power for AC so I like this little usb rechargeable fan: https://www.amazon.com/OPOLAR-Powered-Battery-Enhanced-Personal/dp/B06WGLGJ94

When it's cold I'm really happy I have a wood stove. Not just for heat but also to stop it from getting too damp inside, let me dry my boots, and give me an easy way to make hot water for tea.

Before I setup pressure water I used the Whale Gusher Galley pump and it always worked really well. I'm definitely glad I upgraded to pressure water though (I'm using the seaflo 33 series 12v pump now).

Oh and my USB rechargeable electric toothbrush: https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Toothbrush-Rechargeable-Optional-Fairywill/dp/B06VWD8NY3
