Dentist here: Use toothpaste with Fluoride. It helps remineralize shallow carious lesions (very small cavities that haven’t broken through your enamel into the dentin)

There is nothing poisonous about the amounts of fluoride in toothpaste. Don’t be like Alex Jones and reject fluoride in your toothpaste

Edit: seems that this is this toothpaste, which does indicate it has fluoride, so good! I like that they list out the ingredients, though it doesn’t state the fluoride concentration...

> Super Blue toothpaste

Well it has Xylitol, no sugar (Stevia instead)(sorbitol technically is, but doesn't affect your teeth), no acid, and no other harsh chemicals.

It's already ahead of 90% of other toothpaste because of that.

However. It doesn't have TCP, which is the #1 thing toothpaste SHOULD include.

With that said, I only know of two toothpaste that do include TCP (tri-calcium phosphate, essential for repairing enamel)

  • 3M ESPE ClinPro - < This is the non-prescription version much lower in flouride.
  • Colgate Mineral Repair

Also, flouride is not the enemy for your teeth. Yes flouride should never be consumed in drinking water (DO NOT SWALLOW FLOURIDE IN ANY FORM EVER), but for your teeth it is good and makes the enamel structure stronger - however for toothpaste with flouride in it to benefit you, it really needs to have TCP in it.

So while superblue is awesome, I can't recommend it over 3M Clinpro or Colgate Mineral Repair. You're better off with one of those.

Sorry I misread the Ebay Link. It has novamin. The key is apparently that it comes from outside the US. Here is an amazon link to some italian stuff: http://www.amazon.com/Sensodyne-Toothpastes-Protezione-Completa-Whitening/dp/B00S9T70E8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1451919578&sr=8-3&keywords=novamin

Tom's used to have an SLS free with fluoride but they stopped making it.

I switched to this brand: https://www.amazon.com/Verve-Ultra-SLS-Free-Toothpaste-Fluoride/dp/B00DZ3BBZ2

u/ahushedlocus · 5 pointsr/Ultralight

Tooth powder plus 5 mL dropper bottle has been my go-to for years. Bonus: it's simply various carbonates (aka limestone) and menthol, so I don't feel bad spitting it into a shallow hole.

u/jeremypr82 · 4 pointsr/Dentistry

Ditch the crest, use this toothpaste instead: http://amzn.com/B00R3K2KZ8

Nothing is better for dry mouth.

Try these also: http://amzn.com/B001A40M1M

If all else fails, ask your doctor/dentist for a prescription of this: http://www.neutrasal.com/about-neutrasal.html

good luck

Calcium carbonate.

https://www.amazon.com/Jason-Fresh-Toothpaste-Spearmint-Ounce/dp/B000FGDIRQ?th=1

Calcium carbonate helps reinforce your enamel and prevent tooth decay.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that's because it's fennel flavored toothpaste.

u/bjwest · 3 pointsr/Paleo

Ahh.. I forgot about the toothpaste and deodorant. I use Eco-Dent tooth powder and Naturally Fresh Deodorant stick. This is the main reason I still use a deodorizing body wash. the Naturally Fresh, or any of the "crystal" deodorants for that matter, don't stop sweat and although they do kill the bacteria, they don't sterilize you, so it will grow back within a day. I made the choice of using a deodorizing body wash instead of going with a more toxic underarm deodorant and totally non-toxic soap. I feel I get less toxic stuff by washing off the soap than I would by leaving the deodorant under my arms.

I bought the eco-dent back in January and still have over half the bottle left. The deodorant crystals, I bought back in February and have barely made a dent in the first one. Again, though, daily showers are a must with the crystal deodorant, but I'll go the weekend if not going anywhere without taking a shower and I'm not stinky. Any more than two or three days though, or much physical exertion....

$4 for a $44 investment?

You can do better than that.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C7PZ20O
You can get these cheaper elsewhere and clear $2-3 profit.

u/mithikx · 3 pointsr/mildlyinfuriating

IDK where you get your toothpaste but mine ain't this cheap at the stores.

u/MarcoVincenzo · 2 pointsr/Libertarian

>I didn't realize that this law is considered "interfering with interstate commerce."

It isn't. My toothpaste carries a California state warning about lead content (there's trace amounts of lead in Redmond clay) as a result of CA's Prop 65, but it's still sold across state lines.

u/kingmagsbowsdown2no1 · 2 pointsr/AdviceAnimals

The more you know! My bottle doesn’t say anything about Novamin. I’m using Clinpro 500 but it has 1.1% Sodium Fluoride compared to .21% selling on amazon. Mine also calls out Tri-Calcium Phosphate. Not sure what any of it actually means...

3M Oral Care ESPE 12117 Clinpro Tooth Creme 0.21% NAF Anti Cavity Toothpaste, Vanilla Mint https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00K5HV1HO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_S4V0Db3GZ8PMN

First thing to do is avoid ALL fluoride!

Use fluoride free toothpaste or make your own!

Drink lots and lots of distilled water, this will flush your body of fluoride and other heavy metals. Be sure to replenish your electrolytes by taking a quality multi-vitamin each day and eating healthy foods, including lots of fresh green leafy vegetables and fresh fruits. Be sure to get plenty of zinc, magnesium, potassium. Avoid excess calcium, you are probably already getting too much calcium. Supplement Vitamin D as well. If you take my advice, you should be in much better shape! Best of luck!

A toothpaste dispenser is the most useful thing on my list. I'm not the most money filled person in the world but brushing my teeth is something that HAS to happen. This would help me get the most for my buck and would be better then rolling it up.

u/the2ndtolastunicorn · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Probable either the teeth whitening kit: http://www.amazon.com/Rembrandt-005879-2-Hour-Whitening-Kit/dp/B0000DGBI2/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=2LEL7INPT1XNN&coliid=I1X172QGNAFPJ5 or the Skate tool: http://www.amazon.com/BLUE-Skateboards-T-TOOL-ALL-IN-ONE-TOOL/dp/B004LT5KO2/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=1ECC5O5E9VU1P&coliid=I313BF2B164GZM

Skate tool is necessity, I need it every time I have to tighten my skates or change wheels which is semi-often.
The teeth whitening kit isn't really that exciting, but it's a reward I want for myself since I quit smoking 64 days ago, after 8 years, cold turkey.

u/rumor33 · 2 pointsr/AskDocs

Get yourself some gly-oxide https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000052YE0/ref=cm_cr_arp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8 it does wonders for mouth sores

You should be able to pick it up at any pharmacy

u/MikeHfuhruhurr · 2 pointsr/casualiama

You want some good shit, get the UK version of Sensodyne with Novamin (like here)

Novamin can re-calcify your teeth, but it's not in the US version.

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/tea

I switched to a clay-based toothpaste and it does wonders! You also aren't putting who knows what chemicals in your body. http://amzn.com/B0080L9G9C

You could also try baking soda, peroxide, and oil pulling - all whiten teeth.

u/Colosssus · 1 pointr/popheads

you all would greatly benefit from:

  1. oil pulling (cures gum disease and whitens teeth within a month)
  2. purchasing a calcium, zinc, magnisium, vitamin k2 and vitamin d supplements (remineralizes teeth)
  3. cutting down on the sugar, brush down on every meal (removing the bacteria)
  4. read a book called "how to heal tooth decay" (google it).
  5. Purchasing this and this

essentially what is happening is your teeth are deficient of the nutrients to rebuild the enamel of the cavity and or your mouth is highly acidic (due to sugary foods [with over 15,000 chemicals that are not listed on the packaging of most products] that you are eating) leading to tooth decay. you can correct it by doing what is listed above.!

this stuff works and will heal/correct the cavities! hope this helps!
u/reric015 · 1 pointr/Dentistry

I've read reviews on Amazon of Crest ProHealth and people complain about the fluoride staining their teeth when the toothpaste claims to whiten.

Would this toothpaste be okay https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00C7PZ20O/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?qid=1464725679&sr=8-1&keywords=arm+hammer+toothpaste&pi=SX200_QL40 or https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01AKGRHGS/ref=mp_s_a_1_5_a_it?qid=1464725679&sr=8-5&keywords=arm+hammer+toothpaste ? The second one claims to have liquid calcium. I have tried Crest White strips, plus white gel, and 35% carbamide peroxide in the past and non of them whitened my teeth.

u/creesa · 1 pointr/Dentistry

The fluoride-free toothpaste I mention in my post is actually this stuff: Now Xyliwhite

So he's getting some Xylitol and a little fluoride (both in toothpaste and tap water). I'm going to start wiping his teeth after meals now though. I've just been having him freely drink water throughout the day and then brushing at night, but I think I should add more oral care. Thanks for the info.

u/some_kid6 · 1 pointr/IWantToLearn

I was looking at trying Gly Oxide for this purpose actually. It's got the same active ingredient (Carbamide Peroxide 10%) as the whitening kits but MUCH cheaper. Slightly less concentrated though. Brush it on or use a tray with the same instructions.

Fun Fact: The active ingredient is also used to loosen/remove ear wax!

u/treelets · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

Squigle Tooth Builder, contains no sulfates, baking soda, carageenan, or essential oils (also here for $8.99 with free shipping.) If you have no issues with sodium coco-sulfate and baking soda I recommend XyliWhite Platinum Mint.

u/mike413 · 1 pointr/offmychest

I will mention that canker sores are not herpes.

Also, I switched to an SLS free toothpaste and never get them anymore.

I tried squiggle but I settled on verve.

u/Sugarpeas · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

I recommend the Arm and Hammer - Bright and Strong, Truly Radiant, I thinknit's the same. I've used it since 2009 and once again this year confirmed no cavities. I had some chipped teeth that have sealed up and are no longer sensitive due to usojg this toothpaste for years, the calcium and phosphate bond with the fluoride and make fluoro-apatite. The only other toothpaste I would recommend is Enamelon.

I realize this is a bit repetitivr re-reading. Sorry! I'm on a Geology field trip right now lol. I just got signal for the night.

u/kbotei · 1 pointr/Dentistry

Something with xylitol in it might be an option. I recently found a toothpaste XyliWhite, amazon link, that has 25% xylitol as the active ingredient.

Mine is also blue and white! I use the orange flavored toothpaste - don't knock it till you've tried it!

u/GuineaSaurousRex · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

I use Arm & Hammer Truly Radiant toothpaste and booster. The taste is relatively awful but I've definitely noticed a difference.

And no I don't work for Arm & Hammer.

u/SpaceGardens · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

I understand that. After a quick search on Amazon, here are a few that don't have very childish packaging:

u/DrSillyusFlux · 1 pointr/memes

Get toothpaste that isn't minty. Something that would go with orange. Maybe even citrus splash "for those who aren't a fan of mint"

https://www.amazon.com/Crest-Whitening-Toothpaste-Citrus-Splash/dp/B0016JFCPC?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_5

u/meg_c · 1 pointr/keto

You could also try a tooth powder, such as Eco-dent.

u/gotta_mila · 1 pointr/BeautyGuruChat

I don't know why it didn't occur to me to add "canada" after I searched for the kit. I just I found them on Amazon but the price is higher Wtf Amazon??

u/howheels · 1 pointr/braces

Astonishingly, I found non-whitening toothpaste on Amazon. I checked several retailers in-store and could not find a single tube of non-whitening toothpaste from any brand, but here it is: Colgate Cavity Protection. If anyone finds another brand, share it with us!

u/tocamix90 · 1 pointr/AskReddit

Add a drop of glyoxide to your toothpaste every time you brush. The stuff is amazing and it's actually good for your teeth rather than damaging them. I was pretty amazed at the difference once I started using it.

u/Lavasd · 0 pointsr/Supplements

I hear conflicting information on it for your mouth. It should technically work since you're trying to eliminate bacteria, but at the same time you're stripping your teeth of it's enamel (probably more so with the charcoal than without). I don't know enough about this topic to suggest, but there's been studies showing that while you brush you DO ingest what you're brushing with, so I would personally just use another substitute and as much as I dislike the ingredients in typical Colgate/Sensodyne and what not, they're probably better at their job than the charcoal is.

If you're looking for alternative/natural toothpastes I've only ever tried dr. bronners but found it did a crappy job.

If you're trying to avoid literally ANYTHING bad in a toothpaste, get something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Uncle-Harrys-Natural-Fluoride-free-Remineralizing/dp/B00CP3KW26/ref=pd_lpo_vtph_194_lp_t_3?_encoding=UTF8&refRID=YC9QAQRDWBBV9WEWSPCP&th=1

Literally free of everything bad (sls, carageen, flouride etc.)

u/rainthunderlightning · 0 pointsr/Drugs

>Well I guess you should just stop with the tooth care to avoid any sublingual fluorine poisoning because you're so knowledgable!

Actually, I use fluoride-free toothpaste. For exactly that reason! The fact is that sodium fluoride is absorbed sublingually, which is very toxic and harmful. Most people already receive an excess of fluoride in their tapwater. There is no benefit whatsoever to the body for drinking fluoride, it is only harmful. see: http://www.fluoridealert.org

I find it amusing that you think you can tell me what to do or that your insults have any effect on me whatsoever. What is a fact is that you are poisoning your body and I'm not. All I take are neuroprotectives and anti-oxidants, I don't even do any drugs at all anymore. I've learned what I needed to learn and now there's no reason for me to be a psychonaut anymore. Clearly, you can't say the same, because you are still obviously an infant, spiritually.
