PE teacher here too. Get some of these waterproof type shoes. Not endorsing these ones, there’s tons of options out there, I just like these cuz they’re pretty cheap — https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07968HJ7P/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_E52VBbVCCVAX2

I use "water shoes" that I found on Amazon, they were $20 and look good enough to pass for athletic shoes. I've used them in hotel gyms before and no one seemed to notice.

If I'm allowed to post links, these are the ones I have: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01M2BKHHQ/

search water shoes on amazon. something like this would work great. Zhuanglin Men's Quick Drying Aqua Water Shoes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CSKSXY4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_kKv.AbQN16S11

Used for sailing, they'd also be perfect for river crossings as they have excellent grip (important for sailing) and they have drainage through the sole in order to help dry quickly. These are very flexible and feel like a normal shoe. They're also pretty lightweight.

I bought and wore these. They provided a lot of grip and are still water shoes.

These have worked wonders for me, but they do get dirty quick:

These slip on mesh water shoes pass as sneakers, are super breathable and lightweight, but the soles are small so hard to wear them with anything but shorts.

Might look a bit tacky but functionally, they're great.

I like these. They are super cheap in the winter.

Why not get a pair of those barefoot runner shoes? The ones that basically just rubber covering the bottom of your foot? Sorry Idk what they're called.

But these things

I have used adipure toe shoes (similar to vibrams) on concrete. They work ok, just be aware that sliding and twisting of the support leg is much more difficult. (Think round kicks or full side kicks and the support leg movement)

Good luck finding something that works.

UBFEN Water Shoes Mens Womens... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R8J5R41?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

The fiance and I both have a pair and we like them. They're nice water shoes in the event you get your feet wet, the only complaint is that they get a little toasty. Nice for cooler days, not so nice for super hot ones.

These were recommended recently. I bookmarked then because I'm interested.

Currently using these to race in. They’re like $9.99 at Costco at random times. If you’re actually racing, then you don’t want leather boat shoes. Cheap, good grip, dry decently fast, comfortable.

If you want big boat boots that will last a lifetime then you want Duberrys. Not very frugal. But definitely buy it for life

I’ve ran these multiple times in the BW and they are awesome. Super grippy on rocks and they dry in 10 minutes. Only negative is you’ll want to watch out for sharp rocks on portage’s. But I do that anyhow- so not a deal breaker.

I can get 2 trips per shoe.. so not a bad deal.

I do week long kayak trips and use these

I haven't found anything better for quick drying, inexpensive, easy to clean, and good bottom of the foot protection (I'm a diabetic and take foot protection very seriously).

I was looking at this style. Are these the best ones for a beginner like me?

u/Tsiox · 0 pointsr/BarefootRunning

I run in water shoes. Much easier to find than running shoes, and they'd be usable for your rowing. 5 minutes of Amazon searches...

I will admit, a pair of water shoes only last me a few hundred miles of running, and I'm not terribly hard on them. But, for the cost of them and the amount of running I do, they're still much cheaper than the 2 pairs of Vivo's I went through in two years.

The best water shoes to run in that I've found so far are from Walmart.

u/YCB_Bullseye · -2 pointsr/climbing

I know they aren't technically climbing shoes, but I climb with these and they're fantastic and I absolutely love them. Only 30 bucks too.
