HD60s
Not sure if the processor is good for what you want to do - but more importantly the PS3 uses HDCP (I think that’s what it’s called)

To capture a PS3 you’d need to get a splitter that can remove the HDCP to go to the capture card. I use this one:

ViewHD Ultra HD | 4K HDMI 1x2... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00J4D3RTU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I got the 4K one only to future proof it Incase I use it with something else, and I got it back in 2017 so it’s unavailable now, BUT I’m sure it’ll give you a good base to figure out what to go for.

Good luck friend!

Your output from the HD60 pro is the same as its input. You've essentially added something in the middle of the connection.

Your computer isn't hooked up to your second monitor at all.

You could add a third monitor if you wish to keep your 2nd dedicated to the other HDMI source, or you could add an HDMI switch that you would plug your computer and HD60 pro into as input and then output to the monitor that would allow you to use it for both, but only one at a time.

Edit:
Fosmon HD1832 Intelligent 5-Port HDMI Switch with IR Remote and AC Adapter Supports 3D, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008D6YZXG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_jUsxyb17VX5Q7

This allows you to have 2 HDMI sources into your monitor (HD60 and PC) and toggle between them.

I don’t know much about console because I’m mostly a PC gamer but I would try the following things:

  1. Get a high quality HDMI cable or just a different one and see if you still have issues.

  2. Use the headphone jack on the console and split the audio — one to your PC and one to your headphones. If you use this method you might need a DAC to amplify the signal before the split. I’ve also found the line splitter sometimes cause noise so you can get a ground loop eliminator.

I would have suggested you switch from on board sound or update your sound drivers but your on a console.

Here’s the splitters, cables, and ground loop eliminator I use:

Splitter - KabelDirekt Pro Series Y Stereo Splitter - 1 x 3.5mm Male to 2 x 3.5mm Female - Y Cable Splitter Produces Equal Audio Output for Headphones, Earphones, and Speakers (0.5ft, Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GN76HAG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fWcxCbK4KWTBN

    3.5 to 3.5 - KabelDirekt Pro Series 10 feet ... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DI88X32?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

    GL Eliminator - PAC SNI-1/3.5 3.5-mm Ground Loop... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001EAQTRI?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

This setup works for me because I use a sound blaster AE5 and the headphone jack already has an amp in it.

You might try something like this:

    Behringer Microamp HA400 Ultra-Compact 4-Channel Stereo Headphone Amplifier https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000KIPT30/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_t0cxCbPH562B6

So hook up from headphone console output to 4 channel stereo amp input. Then. One out cable to headphone and the other cable to LINE IN on PC and then separate the audio from elgato in OBS

  • good luck, let me know if you have any questions. I’m not a super expert but was able to self resolve most of my audio issues. In my case the skipping was because my PC built in audio sucked and once I switched to a sound blast AE-5 my issues started to disappear. I know that’s not possible on console :/

It was more of noticing that my 3.0 usb only worked when there was a single 3.0 plugged in. If I had more than one, it only powered the device.
Actually today I had another somewhat related issue but with webcams. For streaming, I wanted to have 2 webcams running however only one would show at a time. The webcams are on an external 2.0 usb hub. If I plugged 1 of the webcams into the PC itself, it worked. So I played with the resolution of the cameras and was able to get both running on the external hub. It’s the same idea, not enough “power” from the one hub. I’ll like you the 3.0 usb I used in my PC.
Inateck Superspeed 4 Ports PCI-E to USB 3.0 Expansion Card - Interface USB 3.0 4-Port Express Card Desktop with 15 Pin SATA Power Connector

TL:DR - trial and error / rule out method.

Hope this helps! Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

The big thing is probably just making sure that if you do any splitting, use a powered HDMI splitter. As long as you use a powered splitter, the signal is digital so it's not going to get degraded.

For the long length of cable, you probably just want to make sure your HDMI has plenty of shielding to prevent interference. I've had good luck with these at 15' https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XM9774/

OK. I'm now leaning towards HD60. I will use the HDMI out port as it is designed. This passthrough introduces the least lag.

I am looking at Amazon's prices. Would you recommend that I cheap out a bit to get a used HD60?

https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00MIQ40JQ/ref=sr_1_3_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1518986811&sr=8-3&keywords=hd60

u/xpercipio · 1 pointr/ElgatoGaming

ok, I shouldn't have said record optical because i dont think theres a cheap audio interface that can do that, mine is 900 bucks. So, what you can do, is use this splitter https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com-headsets-separate-headphone-microphone/dp/B004SP0WAQ/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1496900226&sr=8-2&keywords=trrs+splitter

put that into your controller, now all audio is going through to your headphones. But instead of your headphones, plug it into the elgato audio in. Now, what you can do, is listen to ALL audio (game, chat, yourvoice) from your computer. The only thing is, you will need to get your microphone into the controller with a TRS 1/8 in headphone jack. That depends on what kind of headset you have. Its a little different for everyone but thats where you might have success.

Whoops, sorry I may have skimmed that part. Anyways it looks like the cable you habe to hook it up to the elgato won't carry over the sound. You're going to need either a S-video splitter or a S-Video to HDMI converter like so (https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B0088HNNZ6/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1502342316&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=svideo+to+hdmi&dpPl=1&dpID=417qXVPCYfL&ref=plSrch)

You're supposed to buy a pc recorder like this https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GEBVEI6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_XPfnDbE0TDVJE . Don't use an elgato for your PC screen

u/dman81 · 1 pointr/ElgatoGaming

I have mine hooked up a usb port that is also powered by ac. This one AmazonBasics 7 Port USB 2.0 Hub with 5V/4A Power Adapter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DQFGJR4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_c4Q5Ab1TEZY55 just a idea

u/yankeedeuce · 1 pointr/ElgatoGaming

I have a cable running from the Yeti monitor output to my streaming PC mic input.

u/MaxPanda_ · 1 pointr/ElgatoGaming

Hey bro,

What you need is a dummy battery. The cam link will not charge your device.

Passthrough TV is normal. My adapter is one of these

u/LaFlamaBlancakfp · 1 pointr/ElgatoGaming

USB-c to usb3 adaptor hub. The charge port is also a USB. Plug this in and your gold. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Ethernet-Including-ChromeBook-Aluminum/dp/B00XU6PM68

These are the headphones: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00CQ35C1Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I connect the audio jack to from the monitor to the hub that displays the headset icon. No sound.

That multi-audio option on the PS3 is only for chat, it does not output game audio.

u/GrondStrong · 2 pointsr/ElgatoGaming

This is an inexpensive splitter that will solve your issue. You can get cheaper ones, but this one is powered and will prevent any signal loss from splitting one hdmi signal into two.

u/SirCrest_YT · 1 pointr/ElgatoGaming

Which adapter did you pick up?

Ive tested this with the HD60 S and Pro: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ATNIFPA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Does the audio sound messed up on your TV when using the HDMI passthrough?
