120 Hz is quite useful to have in esports titles in which you can get close to the 120 fps mark. But the response time of the panel is still average which is typical in this price range and you might notice a little bit of ghosting which slightly outweighs the benefits of the higher refresh rate display. But I personally haven't found it that noticeable. Even the general Windows UI feels more smoother due to the higher refresh rate, which I like. If you play only AAA titles however, 120 Hz is pointless as you'll reach only close to 60 fps with decent graphics settings.

The build quality is ok. Only the bottom plastic base seems cheap. Rest of the body seems solid enough and doesn't give the impression that it'll break easily. I don't find much keyboard flex and the display hinge is fine too.

I haven't experienced the issue of battery draining while playing games while plugged. I haven't tested the battery life unplugged that much as I'm mostly playing games with it on charger but based on a short battery drain test, it seems just average due to the small 48 Watt hour battery and the idle drain of Ryzen being worse than Intel's. But it seems like you can manage 4-4.5 hours if you aren't gaming. I haven't had gaming laptops before so I'm not sure how much battery life is acceptable.

The issue with 5.8 GB RAM availability has been fixed with a BIOS update that I got right after updating Windows the first time (I think it was an issue with the Vega iGPU reserving VRAM for itself). I added another RAM module immediately which is a must in the long run for the highest fps but not immediately needed to play games just fine. It's quite straightforward and not much of a hassle. If you don't want to open up the laptop yourself, just buy an 8 GB 2400Hz CL17 RAM module from Amazon (I got this one) and take it to the service center. You only need to remove the bottom base to access the RAM slot and it's quite easy to do on your own too.

You'll have a good gaming experience with both the Ryzen and the Intel one with a GTX 1650. Yes, ones with Intel will give you slightly higher fps. But you'll get more than 45 fps in most games all the time at relatively high settings even with the Ryzen which is quite playable. It is quite hard for me to tell the difference between mid-50 fps and 60 fps without having an fps counter displayed so a 5 fps difference between Intel and Ryzen isn't that significant. Above 60 fps, you'll not be able to feel a difference on laptops with a 60 Hz display anyway. The only cause of concern is that in a few highly CPU intensive games, you might get stutters with Ryzen when the CPU starts to bottleneck the GPU. I haven't faced it in the games I played but some people have reported it in AC: Odyssey which could very well be optimization issues with that game in particular. For the 1650, Ryzen is good enough but I wouldn't recommend it when its paired with more powerful cards like the 1660/Ti.

I haven't done detailed fps measurements yet but it is usually between 40 to 60 fps with the average framerate in the 50s in AAA titles at 1080p and moderately high settings. The Witcher 3 on the high preset with textures on Ultra gives me an average of around 54 fps.

When it comes to temps, the CPU usually is at 70-85C while going to 90C in very rare instances. The GPU is always near 70C even when you push it hard. The fans are pretty good but get really loud during peak gaming but you can change profiles to keep them quiet at the expense of higher temps. I didn't face any major throttling, with the Ryzen maintaining its 3.7 GHz boost across all cores fairly well even at 80+ degrees. This could vary based on the ambient temps of your room though. Where I live, it's usually only around 32 degrees at this time of the year.

TL;DR: You can't go wrong with either Ryzen or Intel if you want a laptop with a GTX 1650 and will have an enjoyable gaming experience with both. However, avoid Ryzen if it's paired with a GPU more powerful than this.

The audio quality needs a lot of improvement. Get a Boya BYM1 mic and you will see a drastic change. The video quality also needs improvement but that will require a lot of investment so it's probably not a good idea this early. That mic costs only ₹850 and it will bring a significant impact on how the video turns out.

The content idea is good and as you guys build PCs for a living so you have all the new stuff to make great content out of it. The content map needs a fresh approach, as to what games to benchmark and stuff like that, check out Hardware Unboxed on YouTube to get a good direction as how to proceed.

P.S. Don't do the bloopers thing. Stick to the material and focus on the info you are providing. If you want a slightly light hearted theme, crack a joke or two about Nvidia or Intel. Keep it technical.

Check out Hardware Unboxed, Jayztwocents, HardwareCanucks, Bitwit for ideas.

Good luck

Three suggestions:

  1. If you plan on doing high overclocking get a Asrock Extreme 4 motherboard. If not, you can keep the one you picked. The Asrock MoBo has more power phases and will give you a more stable overclock.
  2. If you're looking to hit 5GHz get the new Corsair H115i Extreme CPU cooler for ~9K. Its new, and extremely good for the price. If you only want to do a mild overclock, you can go with something like this new Cooler Master 620P (H=165mm) which is nearly as good as a Cryorig H5 Universal (H=160mm) and priced at a very decent 3.7K.
  3. If you go for an air cooler, then instead of Corsair 200R (CPU clearance 165mm), you could get this Cooler Master Masterbox 5 (CPU clearance 167mm) with that beautiful front grille to suck in loads of air. Just discovered it today and am going to recommend it to everyone who has a case budget of ~6k. If you go for the AIO cooler, then I'd personally recommend getting a case with top 280mm radiator placement possible. From what I search last time, these are you options that do allow top mounted 280mm rads:

    Thermaltake Suppressor F31

    Thermaltake View 31

Phanteks Enthoo Pro M (out of stock so this is the white version)

    Thermaltake Core X31

They all sit in the medium range cost wise, but they'll give you an important option of freeing up the front of your case so you can put your case fans and draw outside air in.

Other than this, the Sickleflow fans you picked are fine, you can go with them. If you're tight on budget, then let me know what you have to work with so I'll try to suggest the best option within that. Also let us know how much you're looking to overclock that CPU. It is very regularly known to hit 5GHz if enough cooling is given.

    Edit:

If all this is sounding very costly to you, and you were not much interested in overclocking anyway, I'd suggest you to go for the i7 8700 processor (Rs. 22K), a Gigabyte Aorus 3 Gaming B360 motherboard (Rs. 10K), and a Cooler Master Hyper 212 CPU cooler (Rs. 2.8K) and call it a day. At stock speeds the 8700 is better at gaming than the 8600K.

Scenario 2:

AMD - Ryzen 5 1600 3.2GHz 18160

Gigabyte - GA-AB350-GAMING 3 9760

*Samsung - 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" 8277

Zotac Amp Edition GeForce GTX 1060 6GB DDR5 PCI-e Graphics Card with IceStorm Cooling 26,890

Corsair - RMx 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply 6730

*Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3000 9422

Total(excluding case) = 79,239

Balance = 20,761

This was selling for 7,900 two days back.

If you decide to go for 1070, then I highly recommend you get at least a 3000MHz RAM. Ryzen with VC higher than 1060 loves faster RAM and gives slightly more FPS. If you prefer to go along with 1060, then 2666 will be fine. I didn't check the compatibility with the mobo.

Prices will be somewhat cheaper in Nehru Place.

Another piece of advice: Don't spend a lot on Case. It is just for looks. You can buy Deepcool Tesseract SW or other good cases for around 3-5K. You can also buy a decent CPU Cooler with the balance. As for the monitor, my previous comment will suffice, I guess. :)

Good Luck, and keep notifying.

If you feel confused, do ask.

It's nigh impossible to get a budget G-sync monitor with a fast refresh rate , you'll have to settle for a cheaper option

BenQ ZOWIE RL2455 offers a 75hz refresh rate ( when overclocked ) and a great 1ms response rate perfect for overwatch.
(http://amzn.to/2spRvFB) should save around 12k

Also if you're in Mumbai head over to Prime ABGB , you can get the Ryzen 5 1500x for around 14.5k , which is a significant upgrade

I seriously recommend more storage ,250 Gb just doesn't cut it anymore , you can get a 1TB hard disk for 3.5k

I know its a popular site, but is it fully trustworthy?

I think ultimately I'll have to go for the Sapphire

Even though the amazon.in reviews dont say much, the amazon.com reviews look good enough

u/shriommanerker · 2 pointsr/IndianGaming

Thanks, ive decided to go with this.. and upgrade after 2 years, since its best to upgrade fast with nvidia gpu.

Suggest you go for wd drives as they have world wide warranty.
Down side will be import duties and shipping charges.

Have a look at this. Looks reasonable.

Follow up question, amazon users are giving mixed answers on whether Cooler Master Hyper 212 CPU Cooler fits or not. If you can clarify the same, it will be very helpful.

Edit: After watching this guy's video I bought the case. Although his video mentions SPEC-M2 version, the lengths are the same.

Thanks is this a good ram to buy if I am buying two of them

u/spyvision · 2 pointsr/IndianGaming

For that budget you could go for this - Logitech Z506

Wait for the Amazon Prime Day Sale! Prices may go down.

Or this Logitech Z623 I know it's listed at 10k but I've seen it for as low as 7,500₹ I think. I've heard it and it's quite impressive!

I should have add monitor in the spec too I forgot that my bad.

I got the 1060 6GB for 24,500/- (GST inc), I'm from Mumbai if you are wondering, had to negotiate the price tho, seller was asking for 27K, I was like stfu, but yeah.

Monitor - BenQ Zowie RL2455 24 -Inch (got it in the on-going sale from Amazon for 9.5K)

u/jackinab0x · 5 pointsr/IndianGaming

i3 6100 - 9.3k

8GB DDR4 RAM - 3k

H110 Mobo - 5k

Antec BP 450PS - 2.5k

Deepcool Micro ATX cabinet 2.5k(Dont get a mid tower, they arent worth it unless you are getting an ATX motherboard)

1TB HDD - 4k(Go for Seagate or WD)

That's about 26.3k without a GPU and a monitor, you could up to an i5 for a little extra but its worth the money if you want longetivity.

It has ugly blue led though XD

Also if you buying this or any clip on style mounting cpu cooler.

Check this video on how to properly install a clip-on mounting cpu cooler unless it can damage something

A little above your budget but I think this is something kinda covers all bases without knowing your design sense, whether or not you want to OC etc. You can work from this and other posts here (and elsewhere on the interwebs) to switch up parts and get your final components.

EDIT: Changed CPU to Ryzen since it's cheaper (and therefore also mobo for compatibility). So now you can forego the CPU cooler and further reduce the cost as the 1600 comes with the Wraith Spire cooler. But I've let it remain in the above config.

38K for a 4K 60Hz freesync monitor. Bit difficult for me to digest.

48K for a 2K 144Hz Gsync monitor.

Asus ROG monitors with same specs as Acer predator are priced much higher around 80K in India. But both are the same price in US. Around $600. Maybe because of old stock? What if the stock runs out and we will be seeing both Asus and Acer at around 80K?? Just wondering..

I have Antec A30. It works fine for my application. I was planning on overclock with this cooler but never got the time to do it so I just run my 2500k on stock. If you are going for this, you have to realize that the performance wouldn't be as good as a Hyper 212 Evo. You get what you pay for.

Here are my temps. It got around 50C while idling(only a PDF running in foreground) and low 70sC while CPU at 90% load. I don't usually check my temps so I quickly fired up 2 games and checked how hot the CPU was running. So expect these results. I have a mess inside my case as well when it comes to airflow.

Coming to the noise, I have an Antec PSU and Gigabyte's 750Ti. With my eyes closed I'd never be able to tell if my PC is on or not in a quite room. So you don't have to worry about that. My build is a budget build. So shit case runs with shit case fans which were noisy so I removed them.

Only problem with this cooler is the blue LED on the cooler. It might fuck up any RGB you might have with your build. Even if you don't, be warned - it is really bright. Lights up my entire room(its a VERY small room) in the dark like its a blue colored bed-lamp. But I would still recommend this cooler considering how much cheaper it has gotten.
