Welcome to the Nexus 6P gang! Just got mine a couple of days ago too and was looking at cases too.

I have this one that I could order and get very quickly on Amazon but it depends where you live:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0146MZSPY/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1480706781&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=nexus+6p+moko+case&dpPl=1&dpID=41zk455GngL&ref=plSrch

I quite like it. It gives you decent protection, it feels good in hand and it has a striking design on the back. It also doesn't make the phone much thicker. It depends on if you like the feel of the back design in hand, though, and how much protection/bulk you want.

I was thinking of buying this one too at some point for a bit of better protection:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00JP6FPZA/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1480706781&sr=8-3&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=nexus+6p+moko+case&dpPl=1&dpID=51Tl6fOWkjL&ref=plSrch

It does make the phone a fair amount thicker, apparently, but gives pretty good protection and the rubberised back is very grippy, as I understand it.

You could always manually flash the new update, this thread on XDA may help you out: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2415497

Alternatively, the safer and easier option would be to plug in a USB mouse into your tablet using something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Micro-USB-Male-Female-Adapter/dp/B0027YYMU6
The first Nexus 7 supported external devices like this so I would assume the new one does as well.

Yup. Tempered glass from my go to screen protector brand Tech Armor. They have good prices (usually like 12 bucks) and the best customer service ever.

The case is [this one](MoKo Nexus 6P Case - [Anti Drop] Halo Series Hybrid Cover with TPU + Clear PC Back Panel Bumper Cover for Huawei Google Nexus 6P 5.7 Inch 2015 Smartphone, Crystal Clear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00NTQ2NNE/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_wSA7wbVYJA9B7).

If you have a CD tray you don't use, get the Koomus CD mount, http://www.amazon.com/Koomus-CD-Air-Smartphone-Android-Devices/dp/B00HRKI5V2/ref=pd_sim_107_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=512x4RXhzBL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1DYKS4K9G7CFV8KSZ81P#

the thing is great! fits my 6P with a case, grip is tight on the phone, but easily removed. it fits very securely into your cd tray, not at all worried about it falling out of a big bump or something. and it doesn't block your air vents. ;). Of course, you can't use your cd player anymore but I use AUX so it doesn't matter. I prefer these to magnet ones since no one else can use the mount in your car but you.

I got this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00J2QUWTW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I only really use it when I'm outside the house with the tablet (almost never so far), but it is a very snug fit and seems like a decent stand.

Keep an eye out on slickdeals. I grabbed one of these 3000mAh packs for $6. It was a lifesaver on a recent vacation thanks to me using Uber to get around, GPS walking directions, uploading pics and video to social networks, etc.

I have the Brainwavz Delta (Android version) and they work and sound great. It has a play/pause button, volume up, and volume down buttons that function properly. Plus, they also come with Comply foam tips.

They were Wirecutter's top pick previously for in-ear headphones for under $40.

  • I saw a post a while back that the viewmaster fits the 6p perfectly
  • I have a black cardboard viewer. The magnet doesn't work with the 6p. The phone fits, and I can view about half of the VR apps I download without problems, the other half result in double vision. I cut a small hole in the bottom so I can reach in a tap the screen to select things.

That's all I got for you.

Kindle Fire Tablets sound perfect for your use case, actually. Good display and not a lot of storage for cheap.

I have small hands and both the iRing and the GoStrap are items that have worked for me. So much easier to use the phone one handed!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OH4HP30

Made it a lot easier to distinguish the volume rocker and power button from each other.

I've used this one for a few different phones, including my 6P, and it works just fine. I've had it since March this year, and it still works with nearly daily use.

I use this:

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00HUIL310?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00

they also make an air-vent version i believe, but my CD player is never used and is in a way better position.

zero affect on performance, i've been using magnetic holders for years and they dont affect the phone at all. the only thing that might be possible is the NFC, but in the 6P i believe it is in the area with the glass and camera so your shim won't block it (the phone is metal anyways).

i haven't run in to any issues with my personal 6P

Some random case.. that now told me it won't be here until Dec even though it shipped. Amazon indicated the estimated time was this or next week when I ordered it. May have to look elsewhere, already bitched at the company.

Edit: This one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KUR0NW8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I need a new solution. Here is what I am considering doing:
Sinjimoru Stick On-Wallet combined with
Google Folio Nexus 6P
Thoughts?

Currently, I have [this cheap case] and I don't see it working out for me long-term.(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016S04BY6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00)

The fingerprint sensor works but you have to get used to touching it a bit differently because it is not a great cut out in the back AND the thing that I really don't like is it leaves a blue hue on my pictures (if I use a flash) because of the way they cut the camera hole.
