The install went perfectly using the above method by /xavier_lert. I ended up having a tech help me with the install, but your method was used to the letter. Splicing a 3.5mm stereo jack was very simple, I used this one below, which coincidentally someone reviewed positively for also having used it for the exact same purpose:

Also, for those who have the Sony XAV-AX100 and would like to flash it or think they are having issues, make sure you use an older USB 2.0 Flash drive formatted to FAT32 and make sure the volume is labeled. Worked like a charm. Thanks again for the help!

Just ordered a shift stopper from unknown china company on amazon and popped that bad boy in after about 30 minutes and two small adjustments, wish I did this waaaaay earlier like when I got the car...it’s similar in design, build etc to perrin’s shift stopper but I’m a cheap bastard — it was cheap and worked great on my 2018 wrx base. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BQH23K7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_LyBvCb0VXG5ZM very easy install just take your time as some of the hardware you will remove and reattach is super tiny and if I didn’t leave a Home Depot receipt under the shifter linkage I’d have lost a nut twice lol. Good luck on choosing a short shifter kit I know kartboy and several other guys make em!

Definitely:

There’s a mothers I use, I’m on my third one. When yo I first get it rinse it to get all loose hairs off. I’ve had it for 2 years. I buy them every 2-3 years just to make sure they’re clean, even though I use good practice. I know there’s a chemical guys that’s cheaper but I’ve never used it so I can’t comment on it. This one works for me. I like the shorter hairs, they don’t get caught in things. Once they go bad I recycle them by using them for dirty sections like lower sills, rear quarters etc... perhaps buying the chem guys for that would work too.

When I’m done washing it, I lay it on my clean grit guard and power wash both sides, then squeeze the shit out of it, and then hang it on a hook in my garage to air dry. Don’t leave it to dry in your bucket, it’ll smell like ripe ass, I promise. It’ll get hard when it dries so toss it in when you’re filling your wash buckets and let it soften up.

I forgot to address your other question... you do lose satellite radio although many found a way around that by simply using Sirius app. One hassle point was definitely finding room for the STARLINK unit that came with my car. They do make bypasses and your front speakers will not work if you take it out all together and do not get a bypass. I just managed to remove the metal brackets and shove it down in the back. I learned this by watching the subispeed android head unit install. To get CarPlay or android auto working, I bought this adapter and works great

Rexing V1 has worked super well for me. I wired it into the fuse box so it automatically turns on with the car.

Best thing to do is keep them clean and conditioned. I like the Chemical Guy's stuff (https://www.amazon.com/Chemical-Guys-Leather-Conditioner-Complete/dp/B001TJ3HUG/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1496751911&sr=8-5&keywords=car+leather+conditioner) but any leather conditioner should do.

Remember, leather is just skin, don't let it dry out! Condition the leather every couple months.

I actually bought a similar adapter for my 2018 WRX, it works great! I did it because I didn't want them to drill holes in my bumper.

Edit: I bought this one, not the foremention adapter.

Regarding the relocates the Grimmspeed one is the best.

It blows the Perrin one out of the water in regards to adjustability. Perrin can only slightly adjust vertically where as the GS has a ton of vertical+horizontal.

I know because I own both.

What’s great about this one is that it also has a USB port in case you want to charge your phone at the same time but what I’ve found is that surprisingly, the wireless CarPlay connection with this HU is much more stable than the cable connection. CarPlay would crash very often while connected with the cable. Wireless has not crashed yet.

I got this suction cup mount and placed it in the bottom left corner of my windshield. When you open the driver side door, there's a panel on the dash that you can take off using some pry tools (I used plastic pry tools so I don't damage anything) and slip the wire through a small hole to the OBD2 port. It was a little tricky to get the wire through but you end up with a really clean look where the only exposed cable is coming out of the door to the Accessport. Picture of my setup

It can read the sensor IDs from the summer set, then input the IDs from the winter set (assuming you know them). I got my IDs from tire rack when I got a new set. There is also a tool available on amazon that can read TPMS IDs, more expensive.
It plugs into the car's OBD port to get the info and reset the IDs, and you need a windows PC/laptop to run the software. It was a little bit of a pain to get right the first time but I have it figured out now. Also, a laptop is nice so I don't have to run back and forth to the PC while trying to get these things working.

My local garage quoted me $100 to swap winter/summer and reset TPMS for one car. We have two cars, so that would be $400/year. My floor jack and TPMS sensor paid for themselves in one year.

ATEQ reset tool: https://www.amazon.com/ATEQ-QuickSet-TPMS-Reset-Tool/dp/B008SCWXN4

If you don't know your sensor IDs you can use this to read them, but it's another expense. You could also go to a tire place.

Be mindful that it can take anywhere from 1-10 miles to reset the computer to the point that it either recognizes the TPMS sensor and shuts off the light, OR, in that it will only recognize there is a problem well after they have been installed/ synced and it will only then turn the light on.

They have a little hand held machine (like an old giant gameboy) that they kneel down next to the wheels and hold by the TMPS sensor (valve stem) to "sync" everything. IDK that you have to push them as far as describing the sensor-sync tool. It'll be like this.

I just went through this same process since I live in NY. I elected to go with center mounted bumper option, using the pre-drilled drill holes. I couldn't find a kit that was priced reasonably for this purpose so I made my own using various products on amazon for about 15 bucks and it looks great!

It’s the Rexing Dashcam. I like it because of the slanted shape that fits the slant of the windshield. I do not have it facing the rear yet, but and considering getting one.

I've got the same color WRX. I'm looking at these with either blue lettering or black;

sorry for formatting I'm in mobile. I have this one in my 2016 wrx and it works fantastic, it's a part that saving a few bucks on is not going to injure your car.

Should be standard 3 inch 2 bolt gaskets for the muffler to midpipe. If you're stock downpipe you'll need the Grimmspeed stock downpipe to 3" aftermarket exhaust adapter.

As for bolts, you might be able to use the bolts from your stock exhaust to fit. Otherwise bring it to Home Depot/Ace and find ones that are longer and same grade or higher. The Grimmspeed stock downpipe adapter comes with new hardware to connect to the exhaust.

Exhaust Gasket example

Grimmspeed adapter can be found on Amazon or GS site.
