Hello Friend. I have the same setup, so here's a few tips that might help you:

Pencil/Case: You're going to need a place to put the pencil, and its great to have it always handy, so think about that when you buy a case. The apple case is super expensive and offers the least amount of protection because it exposes the entire back of the iPad. I wouldn't recommend it, there are better, cheaper options out there. I went through two different cases to find one that suited me best. In general there seems to be basically two styles of cases, bi-fold and tri-fold. It really it all comes down to preference as to how you're going to use/hold your iPad.

The first style of case (and the first case that I bought) was a bi-fold case. This case is best for holding the ipad flat (with the back folded over, or standing up on a table. I bought this one Ztotop Premium Leather Business Slim Folding Stand Fiolio Cover specifically because of the pencil holder. However, it turns out that it is somewhat thicker than I had hoped, and the style of case in general doesn't provide a good way to have the iPad raised at a low angle, which I preferred when using the iPad on the couch. Picture 1 - Closed, Picture 2 - Standing Up

The second case I bought (and the one I am currently using) is one that is made out of TPU, the same soft rubber material that a lot of phone cases are made out of, and has a tri-fold design similar to the official Apple case. The difference being it also protects the back of the iPad. After looking through a ton of similar looking cases, finally I settled on this one DTTO Smart Cover Case. It fits the iPad really well, its thin, and similar to what I have on my phone. Picture 1 - TPU Case
, Picture 2 - TPU Case Low Angle, Picture 3 - TPU Case High Angle, Picture 4 - TPU Case Closed

The only downside to this case is it has no place to put the pencil, so to solve this problem I bought these little guys: Leuchtturm 1917 - Black Pen Loops to stick to the back of the case. They fit the pencil extremely well and hold it tight. The problem with these is that the way the loop is oriented (and the side of the square that the adhesive is on) is the wrong way around. If I was to stick it on the back of the iPad with the adhesive, the pencil would actually "hang off the bottom" instead of sitting "up" against the side of the case. To solve this, I just used some black gorilla tape to attach it the correct way around. The other thing is found was when holding the iPad on the sides (with both hands) and the pencil in the loop, a single loop made the pencil wobble around when trying to hold it. I added a second loop for improved stability, and it feels excellent. I can understand if maybe the gorilla tape thing isn't your style, but it honestly doesn't look bad in real life and the usability and strength is top notch. Picture 1 - Back of Case
, Picture 2 - Strong Loops

Apps: Others have more to offer here, but here's my $0.02:

  • Reddit Client - Apollo (will have more iPad functionality to come, but extremely promising
  • Copying Files - Readdle Documents 6
  • Ad-Blocker for Safari - There are many good options, but I use Adguard and have been happy with it

    Other usability things

  • Be sure to add the battery widget to your widgets screen (left of home screen) so you can see the current battery % of the apple pencil
  • If you don't already, learn to use the dock as much as possible, putting commonly used apps near each other. For example, for me it is common to flip between safari, Apollo, gmail, and messaging apps, and settings. These are all on my dock, and I can bring them up from inside any other apps with just a quick swipe. It is a "new" great feature on the iPad and makes multitasking much easier. Remember, you can also create folders on the dock.
  • Unless you're doing color-accurate work, enable TrueTone, it makes colors look nice by adjusting the white balance of the display to match the ambient light in the room.
  • Before using the apple pencil, wipe the tip off on your shirt or pants. It's a really quick thing to do and will make sure there's no small piece of dirt or sand on the tip which could scratch your screen. Some people like screen protectors, but personally I'm not a fan because they either degrade the image quality by causing rainbow effects or grainyness, reduce the contrast, or in the case of the tempered screen protectors, you lose the unique anti-reflective coating found on the iPad Pro. The 120hz screen on the iPad Pro is incredible, I recommend looking at it the way it was designed and just being careful about scratches, dirt, and pocket sand.
  • You can move the keyboard up/down or split it to the sides for easier typing on the large screen. This ins't a new feature, but wasn't immediately apparent to my when I started using my iPad.
  • When charging the Apple Pencil, you can stick the cap to the screen just above where the speakers are. The magnets in the speakers will hold it there.
  • Also in regards to charging the pencil, the connector isn't solid as it may first appear. It actually does have a hinge on the pencil side to allow the pencil to bend slightly while it is plugged into the bottom of the iPad. So don't worry, it won't snap off.

Cables: I bought a longer 6' cable so I could charge my iPad on the end table when I'm not using it.

  • Anker makes good quality stuff, and this is the beefiest lightning cable I've come across: Anker PowerLine II. MFi Certified, cheaper than the official cable, built like a tank, and has a lifetime warranty.

I also am using the Incase Origami Keyboard Case and I love it!

I'm gonna suggest something that you might not want but it works wonders for me.

My keyboard stays separate from my iPad in the Incase Origami and is well protected by that.

At, first I used an old macbook incase sleeve to protect my iPad, like you are doing but I didn't like that after a while.

So now, my iPad is protected by Apple's smart cover and the back is protected by the Belkin Snap Shield Back Cover. I'm not exactly gentle on my electronics and I have yet to have any damage.

I do this for two main reasons. I love the thin naked feel of the iPad and I didn't want to lose that feeling. The Belkin back cover helps preserve this, unlike other cases, they either have that portfolio feel or they are bulky. The second reason I don't want both my iPad and keyboard together in one case is I don't always want to have that full keyboard around. I enjoy reading on my iPad and I don't want that full keyboard around.

I hope this helps. In my opinion, as of now, this is the best option, to work with what we both already have (AKA the wireless keyboard), while preserving that streamlined Apple feel that I enjoy.

Let me know if you have any questions!

EDIT: Forgot to mention I hated having these two items separate in my bag, I wanted them together like you. So I found this really nice looking cloth elastic band thing that nicely holds them together in my bag. So it feels like they are one case (for the most part).

Absolutely, 1000%, get this case.

I use the iPad almost exclusively for drawing, and I find this case to be perfect for nearly every position I find myself in. Drawing in the bed? Perfect. Drawing on a desk? Perfect. Need it to stand upright? Perfect. I mean, it's got 10 different stand positions. The cover also turns off the screen, and it's got two perfect holders for the Pencil. One that charges it, and another that holds it uncharged, so you don't have to worry about draining the battery.

I've dropped my iPad a couple times in this case, and it is still in perfect condition. I also applied a matte screen protector. And while that initially made the screen a worse quality, I got used to it really fast, and it made drawing on the iPad a much more Wacom-like experience. I also got a grip for the Pencil. I do have to take off the grip in order to charge the Pencil, but because of this case's extra Pencil-holder, most of the time the grip is able to remain on.

The weight and thickness are great as well. Durability is fantastic. I've had this case since January, and it's held up perfectly. No stretching on the corners, like I've seen with Otterbox cases. My iPad has been through the ringer; I take it with me everywhere. I don't have to baby it, or worry about it bending. For several months, I had it in a basic cloth purse with no padding. And it survived beautifully.

I seriously can't recommend this case enough, haha.

I have the Anker tempered glass screen protector from Amazon on my 10.5 pro. Works great, went on easy with no bubbles or marks. I also have the Apple Smart Keyboard and a compatible iBlason case from Amazon on it. The case is thin and has a clear back so it looks minimal. Finally, I carry it around in the Apple iPad Pro leather sleeve. It looks and feels great. It’s expensive but I found one brand new on eBay for half the price of retail stores. Links to everything below.

The consensus is that it's expensive but most people who buy it enjoy it and find it worth it. Before you bite the bullet maybe consider this case from Amazon which is pretty much a carbon copy of the Apple folio and it has high reviews and costs nearly 1/5 of the price. Mine arrives tomorrow in the mail so hopefully it'll be good. If not I can always return it to Amazon for free with Prime.

u/xxfoxtail · 2 pointsr/ipad

Thank you for posing that drawing stand. I was lookin for something exactly like that as my Smart Cover fails to hold it up at that angle while I'm drawing on it. How do you like using it?

Also, I recommend getting a matte screen protector. Not only does it help reduce glare and fingerprints, but I think drawing on it works a lot better too. You get that extra feedback and it feels like you're drawing on paper. Can get them pretty cheap on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B015BOKLO4/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

>I type a few essays for school every blue moon, but that's about it.

Do not underestimate the convenience of having two windows open at the same time. Yes, you can switch between Safari and Pages/Word/whatever with a swipe, but it gets old quick.

Also: you're going to want a real keyboard to type an essay. You do not want to do it with the onscreen keyboard. Period. If you're not doing a lot of typing all over the place (library, notes in class, etc), then I guess that means you don't have to get a tiny keyboard, which is good news for typing comfort.

I'd suggest either the Universal Mobile Keyboard from Microsoft (no joke) or the K480 by Logitech. Both of them are nice to type on while still small enough to fit in most bags.

Tablet Stand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MNZ97GC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zSewDbPK1X3FG

Tablet case https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MCXLF66/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_KUewDb4VPMEH6

I like this case because I can prop up the tablet on a surface in different ways (for handwriting, drawing, reading, etc).

Mechanical keyboards are a bit of a niche thing, so the one I use (keychron K1) might not be your thing. The Apple Magic Keyboard works great with the iPad, and Anker and Microsoft also make great portable, or foldable ones.

If you're opting for an air instead, I'd suggest you get either a case that has a pencil holder, or a pencil holder that you can stick onto your tablet's case (like this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y57C5Y4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_vYewDb5XKPVMT )

Currently, only the 2018 iPad Pros are compatible with the 2nd gen Apple Pencil.

The iPad is really good for productivity tools like MS Office, and it looks like you'll get a lot of use out of it for school. The only courses I can think of that would need a high-powered computing machine are IT courses (for program and software development) and engineering/architecture (because of CAD).

u/Canatee · 2 pointsr/ipad

Most of the old-device-only stuff has to do with accessories. Throwing away two old connectors in one go was not the way to go for convincing me to "upgrade".

1: Get a flash drive if you think you could use it. I use mine a lot, second gen iXpand. With the Files integration possible now, it's very nice.

2: Logi Base is expensive but very nice.

3: Get a pen loop: https://www.amazon.com/LEUCHTTURM1917-304637-Leuchtturm-Loop-Black/dp/B002CWMAPW

4: Gamevice is very nice, whether for local games or streaming.

5: 29W charger is very nice.

I’ve seen 2 options compatible with the smart folio.

Option 1: i-Blason Halo V2.0 Series Case Designed for iPad Pro 11 Inch Case 2018, [for use ONLY with Smart Keyboard; Compatible with Official Smart Cover] Hybrid Protective Case with Pencil Holder, Black, 11" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PQVDHK9/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jWKPDbCKXA0K3

Option 2: SWITCHEASY 2018 iPad Pro 11 Protective Cover, CoverBuddy Case with Pencil Holder for iPad Pro 11, Compatible with Smart Keyboard Folio, Smart Folio and Apple Pencil (11 - Space Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P7L7FWR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_TXKPDbYG4T2M6

The 1st one, you’ll wont be able to remove the Smart Keyboard easily. Thus it adds more security when grabbing it from the case

On the other hand, The 2nd one, will reduce the magnets force, but it will allow you to carry the ipad around without the Smart Keyboard if needed.

Disclosure: for my use case I never was able to justify the cost of the Smart Keyboard (although I did research a lot). Finally, I got the key to go from logitech. plus a cover.

u/scottjl · 2 pointsr/ipad
  1. Plenty to choose from, this is my current favorite, I like the split design and it folds up compact. Anker makes several, such as this one. Microsoft also makes a good (but pricey) keyboard. Keyboards are always going on sale, so keep an eye out or use Camel.
  2. I recently picked up this TurtleSkin case. It's basically a big silicone bumper. I have a glass screen protector on as well. The bumper gives me some decent grip and keeps the front and back from touching when it's lying flat on a surface. I got black but might order another one in green or blue.

You can import brushes, there are some bugs/quirks with some right now, but Affinity is working on them.

Lastly, I can recommend this Pencil sleeve. I got the glow-in-the-dark version. Gives the Pencil a good grip, keeps it from rolling around, I can find it easily in the dark and it keeps the cap on! Note it will no longer fit in most "Pencil loops" on cases and such. Doesn't bother me, as I carry everything in this felt laptop sleeve.
u/BlessedKat · 2 pointsr/ipad

I bought some on Amazon called Supershieldz and it works great! A 3 pack for $8, and when I use the Apple Pencil for writing, it writes smoothly as if there weren’t anything placed! Super recommend. Here’s the link if you’re interested. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K1LLCBZ/ref=cm_sw_r_oth_tai_H0Y0CbTX9R0GC

u/Hehe_69 · 13 pointsr/ipad

iStudiez is awesome. I really don't use it to it's full capability but I can't find anything else that keeps my class schedule so neat and organized.

For the stylus, I really liked the Wacom Bamboo for iPad. The tip is supposed to be a bit smaller and it does write and move very smoothly.

Now a question. Why Notebooks for iPad? What other apps did you try? I'm just curious because I've had this on my Appshopper wishlist forever. Currently I use Notability for the same reasons you listed for liking Notebooks (formatting, bullet points) so just wondering what else in particular drew you to this app?

u/brian21 · 1 pointr/ipad

I have this one for the 9.7 and it looks like real leather and has thus held up really well in what I'd say is a pretty grueling travel schedule the last few months. Looks like the company makes one for the 12.9 too. Pretty cheap.

u/D4RKH0R5E · 1 pointr/ipad

Sorry I can't help on the stylus side of things since I haven't touched one since my Palm Pilot.... and that seems like a lifetime ago. And I certainly didn't do any art with it!

But since few are recommending a case cheaper than the Apple's own, I have the Devicewear Ridge on mine, it has been my favorite case so far, and it fits your low-profile request plus your bonus smart cover / magnet wants. BUT unfortunately for you it doesn't have a stylus holder. I did a quick search for one with a stylus holder and most have the "slide in" sleeves for your iPad (Like the Snugg case ) which I would not recommend, I had that kind before I got the Devicewear and the sleeve area always got in the way of the edges of the screen. Another sort-of option would be the Moko case, but beware that you have to partially pop it out of the case to use it as a kickstand, which was a deal-breaker for me. However, it has a hand strap and stylus loop and doesn't cover the screen. So it may work for you.

Personally I'd look for one that clips in like the Devicewear (especially if you are doing art on it), or just sew on your own stylus loop if you have those skills.

u/DazEngineer · 2 pointsr/ipad

I am currently attending uni and from my experience this past year with the 10.5. I highly recommend it. Simply because you might not always have the luxury in terms of desk space of having a 12.5 with you and also because of weight. My mom bought the 12.5 and regretted it within a few days because of the weight and sheer size.

If you are saving money or you would rather use that money for something else, I recommend using your petrol points to purchase it and spend a little to get the accessories you would want to have. In contrast if you want to be future proof, don’t mind waiting a bit, and don’t mind spending a fair penny; purchase the new one. Roughly with the items listed below and getting an 10.5 with 256GB and with AppleCare set me back roughly $1250 USD so you have a rough idea of how much you might be spending.

Accessories that I bought that I also highly recommend and use on a daily basis are listed:

u/mrdavisclothing · 3 pointsr/ipad

A matte screen protector is nice too. A little more friction helps my unsteady hand. I have this one and have been happy with it. D&P [Anti-Fingerprint] [Matte Finish] 9H Tempered Glass Screen Protector for iPad Pro 10.5-Inch (2017 Version,Apple new iPad Pro 10.5”), Anti-Glare / Smudge Proof / Smooth Touch (Game Players’ choice) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072WR5T8Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_9yb0AbD02HMEP

u/Goobah · 2 pointsr/ipad

I use this one every day in school with Notability.

The tip has capacitive fiber wrapped around a rubber tip. It feels super smooth when writing. I added a rubber grip from a spare pen I had to make it easier to write for longer periods though. This makes it even better. Plus, it's so damn cheap!

Highly, highly recommended for note taking.

u/pototobug · 1 pointr/ipad

I use this case that includes a pen loop that's covered in the case: BENTOBEN iPad Pro Folio Case https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B076BBVGNM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_jZxdAbNX5BNKG

You can also get a Leuchtturm1917 Pen Loop https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B002CWMAPW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_CZxdAbJ2M3MY0

Or Apple Pencil Cap, Pencil Tip Cover, Lightning Cable Adapter Tether https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B06XJJ2PQB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_11xdAbCSZYMZN

These are things I've tried out (those exact brands) and worked for me.

I'm not sure which brand to go with for this last one as I haven't gotten one of these, but have heard of others who've liked this solution also: Apple Pencil Sleeve https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01EHSMF1W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_y3xdAb8GQR5HH

I feel like any of these might work better than a lanyard as that might get in the way when youre using the pencil. I also haven't seen anyone using one/being sold anywhere so you might have to make your own if you end up going with that still.

u/STUstone · 4 pointsr/ipad

I have a wacom bamboo stylus. It works well and feels good in my hand. Im no art major, but I was able to draw some neat things with it like casper and this guy with it. Don't pay more than $30 for it though, I just saw they raised their prices

u/allprologue · 2 pointsr/ipad

yep! here's the grip: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LY38TGQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

and a bonus little thingy that keeps the cap on the back. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KV3SAMA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I lose everything and i have a dog that helps me lose everything but I'm going on 2 months without losing my pencil yet.

edit: oh! if you have the 12.9 new ipad pro, the smart cover from the last gen pro fits the new one. And those are on ebay for like $25, is where I got mine.

u/Imacdavey · 1 pointr/ipad

This one is pretty good. It can hold a 12.9 with the Apple Smart Keyboard folio case and the pencil. It’s a little rigid.

Yes, it wraps around the corners of the iPad and protects the sides and edges. It’s an i-Blason case. Really neat. You can get it on their website, or on Amazon. Make sure you get the right size for the iPad depending on if it’s 11 or 12.9.

The Origami case is the keyboard case. It folds out to include a stand for the iPad.

Incase Origmai

I had the Origami, but I gave that to my brother. I currently use the Logitech Ultrathin (I actually have the one for iPad v4 the previous model to the air with the lightning port) I love it.

Update: There's a folio version of the Ultrathin that will protect the back.

u/michaelkloud · 1 pointr/ipad

I had the Apple Smart Case on my iPad Air 1. Absolutely loved it. The leather feels rich and it was light. I've since 'upgraded' to the iPad Air 2 and went with a different case because of cost. I couldn't justify spending another $79 on the Apple case as there were subtle changes to the Air 2 that I can't reuse the case :(

This is the one I bought for $15: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OKSMA6A

The feel is not as nice as it's not leather. The inside of the case that touches the screen is not as soft. However it does it's job. I only want something to protect the iPad from small scratches.

u/AlfalfaKnight · 1 pointr/ipad

I bought the Logitech Slim Folio for my 5th generation iPad and upgraded to the 6th gen purely for the Apple Pencil support. However, the case does not have a pencil holder, so I bought this one on Amazon and a few weeks in it works fine. If you end up liking a case without a holder, you can just apply this one wherever it seems most ideal

u/compositionnotebook1 · 1 pointr/ipad

I use the logitech k480. I like that it’s bigger, easier on my wrists. I also got the hermit shell keyboard case where I can it my iPad and my pencil in there.

So far I really like it. I’m a student too, I use it for taking notes in my reading as well as lecture notes.

u/intr0spectivity · 1 pointr/ipad

Short answer: No.

Long answer: Maybe if you don't mind the iPad leaning further back because it's a few 0.something mm thinner.

Don't get a keyboard case. Get a dedicated slim keyboard that can pack away with a smart cover. You can get them combined for around $50 on Amazon if you search. All the first party accessories bet on the idea that people will spend a lot more than they should because the Apple brand is connected with the ideas of premium and high-end devices.

I would recommend [Anker's T320 slim keyboard] (http://www.amazon.com/Bluetooth-Ultra-Slim-Aluminum-Keyboard-Windows/dp/B00BKW2410) with any of the slim cover cases on Amazon.

You'll pay more for more features. An example would be the Logitech K480 keyboard that allows you to connect with three devices simultaneously (phone, iPad and laptop).

u/robeschi · 2 pointsr/ipad

For the 10.5 I use the D&P Matte one. It really makes the screen feel more like paper, and in general appears to protect the screen quite well. It came with stickers for the hinge method application, which was super easy. I got an Armor Suit one for the iPad 12.9, it was much harder to apply. The end result was about the same (except this one had bubbles under the protector,) it feels nice to write on. If I did it again I would not have purchased the Armor Suit one. The D&P one was sort of like a thin sheet of glass, the Armor Suit wan was like a sticker, but they both feel the same with the Apple Pencil and look the same after applied.

u/fcllencngels · 1 pointr/ipad

I actually use a matte tempered glass screen protector. in the past, someone took my ipad and dropped it face down, shattering the entire screen, and since then I don’t use film protectors. But i still wanted something matte since i’ll be using this 90% for notes and 10% for entertainment so I got this screen protector on amazon which I love!

Just bought this cover from Amazon last week. Only 30 bucks and I'm very impressed with the quality so far. It looks good, and provides solid protection, plus acts as a stand much like the apple smart cover. I'm sure there are probably better options but most are in the 60-100 dollar range. For 30 I got exactly what I wanted with this one.

I bought this case on Amazon for the kitchen when I am using my iPad for recipes and don't want to worry about my keyboard folio getting debris. It is almost exactly the same as the Apple version and only $25. Very strong magnets and looks great. No branding on it. You can't even tell it's not Apple.

I have a JetTech on my 9.7 Pro, in fact I just order a new one since the previous one sacrificed itself to save my iPad.

For my 10.5, I'm using a Khomo branded one simply because I liked the color.

I like full coverage on the back since I generally stick a sleeve for the Apple Pencil back there.

I use this.

I have a precision stylus that was more expensive than this one, but I found that it scratches the screen. I love the smoothness of the one I linked you, and for the price, you just can't beat it.,

(This brand has been popping up in quite a few conversations on my search, is this like the Anker of cases?)

UAG vs. iBlason for added IPP 11 w/ Folio?

Purchased my IPP 11 today with the Best Buy sale, was wondering, for added protection, which case have you used/prefer?

I'm using the Khomo Dual black case with an apple smart cover. You'll have to cut the cover off of the Khomo to get the smart cover to fit.

Right now I'm looking at: Smart Writing Tool - 7notes HD for the app and http://www.amazon.com/Bamboo-Stylus-iPad-Black-CS100K/dp/B004VM0SE6 for the stylus. Are there better picks out there?

u/LeonardoDiRaprio · 2 pointsr/ipad

Currently rocking this screen protector with this case. No issues so far, definitely a little heavier now, but enjoying the storage for the pencil and how sturdy it feels.

u/xrabbit · 1 pointr/ipad

of course! because it's laptops!

tablets require other level of protection. this case is good for laptops, but it's not protect from bend and this make it unusable for tablets. modern tablets can be bend easily, so you want to carry it, you have to think of sufficient level of protection.

what the author of the video do is like working with knifes or other sharp staff and then whine if he cut his finger.

if i will be the owner of 12.9 ipad then i will use something like this

u/shananies · 1 pointr/ipad

Yes with a nice keyboard. I prefer this one

u/Burrito_Suave · 2 pointsr/ipad

I like this Anker one better than the one mentioned below because the USB-C port is 30w and the USB-A is 19w.

u/zadillo · 1 pointr/ipad

I just got the new Anker Atom PD 2 along with two Anker USB C to lightning cables. I wanted to get something with two USB C ports so I could charge my iPhone 7 and iPad Pro 10.5" at the same time

So far it's working great!

Anker 60W 2-Port USB C Charger, PowerPort Atom PD 2 [GaN Tech] Ultra Compact Foldable Type C Wall Charger, Power Delivery for MacBook Pro/Air, iPad Pro, iPhone XR/XS/Max/X/8, Pixel, Galaxy, and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DFGXLY4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OOo8Cb8H9H6X2

If you absolutely need one USB A there is this:

USB C Charger, Anker PowerPort II UL Certified 49.5W Wall Charger with Foldable Plug, One 30W Power Delivery Port for MacBook Air/iPad Pro 2018, iPhone XS/Max/XR/X/8/+, PowerIQ 2.0 for S10/S9 and More https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0721DV7YX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_eRo8CbVSTY0MQ

But personally I preferred to have two USB C ports

Try this one - I have it and I love it. The big round button on the left allows you to switch between three devices, so I use the same keyboard for my laptop, iPhone and iPad

I’ve used this brand on various sizes and love them. I have the same one on the iPad for six months to a year - I change it when something happens to scratch it (where by something I mean my son.)

Thanks! They are both from Amazon

u/PanagiotisG · 2 pointsr/ipad

This is the stylus I use. I like it because it fits in the little loop on the front of my case and it has replaceable nibs. My gf bought me one of those long Brookstone ones but I never carried it around because it didn't fit. That's probably the only reason I wouldn't consider that one. Looks nice otherwise

u/Howardhorst2018 · 1 pointr/ipad

If you think it's too bad you can always add a matte or non-glare screen protector. I got this for my iPad pro and I love it. It also makes using the pencil feel a bit more natural because it has a little bit of "tooth":

I got this one instead from Amazon (very similar, also works with the keyboard), and it works really well! Got a decal for it from decalgirl.

It does seem like it'd break if someone were to put too much pressure on the tip, but so far, I haven't had any problems with responding to the touch-screen.

I’ve used Supershieldz before with my old 10.5” iPad Pro. It’s a 3 pack for $7.99. And I’m sure there’s probably better brands out there, but this is a good cheap one. You may want to try the Procreate forums or search around for other options.

u/charliedogsayswoof · 2 pointsr/ipad

I got this one and I’m very happy with it. Matte anti-glare, feels good with the pencil, no problem with Face ID.

Hey I use this guy. I tried about 6 and am pleased with the way this one works.

Edit Here is an example of my notes

u/linuxweenie · 2 pointsr/ipad

If you don't mind two pieces of equipment, try an incase oragami case (here) and an Apple bluetooth keyboard (here). Less than $100 and works like a champ, but way more than 23 dollars.

u/wintersofgames · 1 pointr/ipad

I’m more afraid of accidentally leaving mine somewhere than carrying it around with me. I have the Smart Keyboard and [this case] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PQVDHK9). Those two together and the padded sleeve in my backpack make me feel very secure.

u/nbtxdude · 1 pointr/ipad

Why not one of the matte glass screen protectors? The glass part is what would protect the device the best...

Something like This May be of use to you it’s what I’m looking into.

u/Espressa · 5 pointsr/ipad

I ordered a 12.9” iPad Pro and the only case I found that seemed to support the Apple Pencil and wireless charging was one by Ztotop. They also seem to make the same case for the 11” version. https://www.amazon.com/Ztotop-Strong-Magnetic-Minimalist-Trifold/dp/B07JVBFXVB

I decided to hold off on buying the 12.9” case since their other, similar cases for previous models had some mixed reviews concerning the quality. Also, the 12.9” case costs around $28, which is more than I wanted to spend for a likely temporary case. If it was closer to $15 I would have just bought it, but I decided to spend the money on an inexpensive sleeve that I will still be able to use even after I get a case for my iPad.

u/nomosecrets · 1 pointr/ipad

I found this one on amazon. Not available for shipping yet but it’s $28 and not $100

Not sure if it’s actually what you’re looking for. But this has magnets and auto on/ off. This is what I use and have been for the last 10 months and it still looks brand new.

u/Way2square2behip · 2 pointsr/ipad

I’ve been using this magnet:

It’s okay for my needs, but it’s not great. I use it mostly to attach the pencil to my iPad while typing so that I don’t misplace it. However, it’s easy to knock off. So, when I’ve got a cover on my iPad instead of a rigid keyboard, I use this strap:

You’re less likely to lose the pencil, but you can knock the end cap somewhat easily. Also, you have to remove the magnet to use the strap. Bottom line is that I’ve never found anything that makes it impossible to lose a pencil.
u/jeffdrafttech · 1 pointr/ipad

Maybe this? https://www.amazon.com/Incase-Origami-Workstation-iPad-Black/dp/B004X355Y6 It's a case for the Apple keyboard that has an iPad stand. I have one and have Duet, but far too lazy to set it up.

u/fwilli · 1 pointr/ipad

I just got this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00OKSMA6A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Cause I'm not very keen on leather cases(they can get slippery) So far I've got no complaints, it's got more viewing angles then it says(but that's just because balancing is easy) nicely magnetized too. 1 downside is The oil from your skin can get onto the case very quickly so you might have to wipe it off with your sleeve.

The only real "issue" is that if you live on the East Coast, it's probably gonna be shipped through LaserShip. And if you give that company a quick google, you will see most reviews are at or below 1 star. So if you try to get it shipped 1 or 2 days, you might be wasting your money(ordered 2 day shipping on Wednesday, didn't get it until midnight Sunday-Monday(From 1/2 an hour away, extra kick in the ass))

All in all I'd buy it again, and quickly while it's on sale.

Bon chance with your search!
