My dad was a cop too when he did the exact same thing with me.
But when I was a kid I found the gun and played with it. Got caught before the eventual tragedy. But still.

You can argue that I was an idiot child. And I would have to agree with you on more than just this account. But my point is that training your kids about guns isn't a surefire safety measure. You need to train your kids, and then make damn fucking sure that the kid NEVER gets a hold of that gun unsupervised, period.

One thing they have now that they didn't have when I was a kid: Fingerprint Safes. When we have kids, the sport guns either go in a large formal safe, and the home protection guns go in these.

Ian Thompson a tiré à coté, il a du se battre contre la bullshit mais il s'en est sorti.

Même Basile Parasiris s'en est sorti, il avait tué un policier.

Combined and now there's no needlessly complicated, reliability hampering, halfbrained technology attached to the weapon.

I've been eyeballing this one for a while. Seems like all the bad reviews are from tards who did it wrong or didn't read that the battery needs replaced every couple of years. I had this and gave it away because I didn't care for it. It would unlock properly maybe 3 of every 10 tries. Fuck that thing. Gunvaults suck IME.

Right now I've just got my carry 9mm on the kitchen counter and my home defense .45 on my nightstand which is nowhere near ideal.

You should buy it first and let me know so I don't waste my cash ;)

I have three handguns in my Barska Biometric safe.

I have a Glock 19 with a full mag + 1 in the chamber with a tac light attached with an extra mag next to it. A Ruger 22/45 unloaded, and a Springfield XDs loaded (carry gun). I also have 2 or 3 boxes of ammo stuffed in the back, and 2 fully loaded 30 rd PMAGs for my AR15. Also, there's my keys for my gun case and my GunVault MagVault:

TL/DR: It's pretty big.

I've been looking at these. They have a key mode and a fingerprint mode.

Mostly because of kids and I want to have quick access to a loaded weapon incase of intrusions.

I mean there are plenty of easy access safes Like this one that mean it isn't in the open while also being quickly accessible in the event you need it.

Hello!

I recently purchased a Glock 19 Gen 4 - I paid $529.00 out the door with 3 15 round mags. If you are in North Texas, stop by SportingArms.com - I bought from them and they are a great little mom and pop shop in Lewisville. Anyway, on to your questions.

  1. I have the Glock 19 Gen 4, I have about 2000 rounds through it now (updated extractor and 043 spring installed). I have had NO issues with it at all. Even with crap Brown Bear ammo I bought. The only issue I've had is that some times the lower grain cheapo target practice ammo (115 gr) didn't kick the slide back far enough to lock the slide back after the mag was empty. But as of lately, it appears as though the spring as loosened up a bit, and now it locks back as it should.

2.) Don't buy a GunVault safe. They apparently fail to open some times, not something you want happening when it really counts. Also, apparently if you pick it up and drop it hard, it can open! I bought a Barska Biometric safe Link to Amazon Page I have had no issues with it, it's quiet and fast.

3.) Cleaning is easy. Hops #9 Kit , 9mm Bore Snake, and a clean DRY toothbrush.

As for ammo, I've put cheap brown bear, winchester white box, and federal champion ammo through it without problems. Personally I like the winchester whitebox, it's reasonably cheap and clean, and can be purchased at your local walmart for about $22.00 a box (100 rounds)
