I have a Macbook and PC hooked up to an 34GK950F. On the monitor, I use HDMI for Mac and DisplayPort for PC.

But since my older Mac (2014) can only output 4k@30hz via HDMI, I'm using the DP port and an active DP to HDMI converter. I'm able to get 3440x1440 at 85hz this way from my Mac. The converter is here: https://www.amazon.com/CAC-1180-Display-Adapter-Displays-4096x2160/dp/B077J8655R/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=cac+1180&qid=1565535443&s=electronics&sr=1-1

You have 2 options:

  1. Use DVI to hdmi and apparently it will work upto 144 hz on 1080p on dual-link

  2. Just get an active converter such as this. Just make sure that it is able to convert correctly to hdmi 2.0. This is due to other converters only being able to support 1080p @60 max while PSVR supports up to 120Hz.

I am currently using #2 (Since I might use it for the next 4k headset) for my PS VR and it seems to work with the demo of Trinus (I'm still waiting for ivry since I am still playing on PS4 and use the device for cinematic movie watching)

Sadly, I tried all of this and even swapped out the Monoprice dongle for the “recommended” (or at least oft mentioned in NUC fora) Club3D active dongle (Club3D CAC-1180 Active Mini Display Port 1.4 to HDMI 2.0a HDR Adapter (Support Displays up to 4k/UHD/ 4096x2160, 60Hz HDR) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077J8655R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_ShNRCb9X512QR) but no dice.

I don’t think this thing can do it, period. Womp womp.

I use this to convert DP to HDMI for a 2nd PC (running Windows 10) that connects to the HDMI inputs on my pair of 4K displays.

That way, DP is for macOS machine on both displays, and the HDMI is for Windows 10
