My Logitech keyboard and mouse came with a little extender that I use with my NUC. It's about the length of your thumb.

Without access to the dongle there's no way to know what it is or isn't doing. However, it looks like a USB extender. They're used when the clearance to the USB port is too small for the device you're trying to plug in.

I found it on Amazon for you. I don't know if 2" is really gonna make that much of a difference...

I lost the wireless receiver for my G700 and wanted someone to give/trade me theirs- it never happened and I just had to buy it eventually. Good luck though!
