IMO, a better solution is selling both and buying a single 2080 Ti.

On paper that seems like a downgrade, but in most cases your performance will stay the same or improve. Less power usage and no SLI scaling issues.

If you want to keep the 1080 Ti's, grab an NZXT G12 + AIO. If your case has room I would put a 240mm AIO on both cards, but a 120mm will still cool them fine, just with slightly higher temperatures.

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/7J7CmG/thermaltake-cpu-cooler-clw0224b - $80 240mm.

https://pcpartpicker.com/product/FTDJ7P/evga-clc-120-cl11-589-cfm-liquid-cpu-cooler-400-hy-cl11-v1 - $50 120mm.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZZN9N85 - $29 bracket.

You may see that your GPU temperatures improve with the side fan acting as intake, the heat will naturally be expelled from your case top and rear as long as you have enough intake airflow.

$60 over budget. You can get much closer using a blower GTX1080Ti but I would highly recommend dropping the cash on a decent cooler. One other option is get a blower now then an NZXT Kraken G12 (A bracket to mount a CPU liquid cooler on a GPU, check compatibility with the CPU cooler first!) Plus like a Corsair H60 or an NZXT Kraken x31 etc...

Not in the conventional way it does in Windows, it's mostly by application. I'm not using an SLI bridge but many applications and games recognize and utilize both cards simultaneously. Heat was a big concern with the initial build, so I had to go with a water cooling solution.

The NZXT brackets still didn't provide enough clearance beneath the cards, so had to go with an EKWB kit and some wait for some blocks to arrive. Lowered case and core idles around 30 degrees.

Will post install details and benchmarks this evening. I use a 2019 iMac with 64GB/580X at work. Rendering a project with effects may take around ~25-30 mins. On the Hackintosh, the same thing takes about 5-7.

You could use a g12 kraken from nzxt its a loss less headache and it provides similar results to custom water cooling but allows to connect your graphics card to most aios.

Kind of a niche item if you are looking to add an AIO to your GPU but I've been watching it for a while. Amazon had it for 35/40 and then went out of stock. Memory express stocks it at this price but only in store. If you have prime it's free shipping

There are 2 common options; The NZXT Kraken G12 and the EVGA Hybrid Kits. The G12 itself costs $30, but you need a compatible AiO, which would probably run you about $120, which makes it $150 total.
The EVGA kit is also around $150, and is a single unit. You would need to get a compatible card if you go for this option. These two cooling solutions will probably have similar performance, so it pretty much depends on which one you like the looks of.

Raijintek Morpheus II runs about $60.

ID Cooling Frostflow is an AIO for GPUs, much like EVGA's hybrid kit, but at a fraction of the cost.

Honestly, it really shouldn't cost $150+ to cool with the G12.

I'm running a GTX 1070 Founders Edition and with the Hybrid cooler (from a 1080 Ti FTW3, it fits just fine), I never see temps over 55°C under load. The 120mm radiator is in push/pull and the fans never go over 800 RPM.

You could try to buy a broken one and replace the fan shroud.

Get some 80mm fans like Noctua NF-A8 or normal 120mm fans depending on the amount of space you have and use zip-ties to attach them to the card.

Buy a hybrid watercooling bracket like this one and use a compatible CPU AIO to water cool it.

Just make sure all the parts are compatible if you go for the hybrid build.

Maybe a full tower case with bays that you can remove for better airflow. Bringing in more fans will increase the noise level and may not give significant cooling. For consideration, you could also buy AIO coolers for your CPU and GPU. If you keep the radiators as exhausts, it can keep your case temperature down. Here's one for your GPU.

Not necessarily.
