Great choice, this is as close to bong long as you'll get. This and a mighty have made it so gave up smoking. the evo has been a daily driver from the past 4 (or more?) years. Get more baskets for it. when they get resined up performance goes down. I like to have extra so I am not constantly cleaning them.

I use mine in a 18mm bong but I also really like the dhgate hydratube I got for like $35. I use a 12-noon heat setting or maybe 1 o'clock. First draw is long and slow to "warm-up" the herb. I generally stop and xhale as soon as I see thick vapor production starting. Then I hit it like a bong or bubbler, long hard hit, and the evo always keeps up. I generally get 2 or 3 good hit out of a basket. Most wispy ones if you keep going.

clean it as soon as the joint starts to feel sticky. I have had a couple of times where my hydratube has to be twisted off the evo because the joints are to sticky. Didn't break anything but I like to clean mine often to avoid the issue.

You should also get 2 things that make the experience better. Get a wifi controlled plug, evo takes a good 10-15 mins to warm up. I will turn mine on via the wemo app when I leave work. When I arrive home, my vape is warmed up and ready for use. It may sound ridiculous but to me it really enhances the experience to not be waiting for it to warm up when you really want a b-load after a long day at work. You can also program a wifi plug to turn off and back on every hour to avoid the time out feature. 2nd, get a debowler (or similar) ashtray to keeps your coffee table clean.

The Evo doesn't get too much love but it is my favorite vape and I always recommend it to folks who are heavy smokers or bong lovers.

I use a WeMo Insight on all my rigs, which can record the historic power data and provide reporting, however a WeMo Mini will work just as well.

Some people also use USB watchdogs, but I have no idea how well these work and can't comment on the longevity or safety of them.

Wemo plug. I have one and not only can I tell it to turn on and off once every half hour, but I can also turn on my volcano from work, or at a certain time like when i'm coming home from work.

After a couple weeks of researching the same thing, I wound up assembling my own rather than getting a kit. I have a 60g with a 5lb tank that I got from a local welding supply store that fits nice in my compact cabinet. Tank cost $60 and $15 to fill/refill. Attached to that is this regulator which I run on a wemo plug to come on only when the lights are on. I use this diffuser (which I think is overkill). All connected by this CO2 proof tubing. Finally, I use this drop checker. Less than $200 invested. It's silent except for the instant that the solenoid switches off/on. I have to trim plants a couple times a month. At two bubbles/sec, I get about 6-8 months between tank refills. Slightly cheaper option may include a paintball tank with adapter.

I haven't been super thrilled with them, but I haven't had too many issues beyond "can't be reached" once in a while. Granted, I mostly blame Google's slow decline in responsiveness/accuracy over recent months, who knows. Sad I chose incorrectly, it was essentially a coin flip. I think they were priced identical. It is also connected to a Google Home Mini speaker.

So I have the camera set to automatically turn on at midnight every day. I can use my phone to turn it on/off manually at any time. I can also use the Google speaker to just say "hey Google, turn off the camera".

The two I mentioned both say a hub isn't needed and it's compatible with IFTTT. I was just wondering if anyone had experience with either of those and IFTTT and it's reliability.

Philips unfortunately hasn't created a smart power outlet. I personally use a Wemo smart plug for devices that I want to turn on or off using Amazon's Alexa. The Wemo outlet cannot dim though and I'm unaware of any smart device/outlet that can dim ordinary lights.

Edit: Looks like Wemo does offer a dimmer now but requires installation.

    It ain't cheap and won't likely solve all your algae issues (i have all manner of thread algae currently but it comes and goes) but it makes all the difference in overall plant health and growth, you will be trimming weekly if all goes well.

You seem to assume other people have had little or no experience with consumer electronics and networking. Perhaps you should rethink that assumption.

That is a major difference that's too big to be accounted for because some people are "vocal" about product problems.

Nor was it a "technical issue with something in the implementation on your premises." Nothing in any environment should be able to cause a Wemo switch to come on at random times each day without being programmed to do so. Nothing in the environment should be able to cause it to just lose it's ability to connect to the router until it's reset.

I've tried these switches in multiple homes, with multiple ISPs and multiple routers. Same flaky issues.

By contrast TP-Link switches in these same environments work perfectly. Wemo products are too unreliable to be sold as consumer devices.

I'd probably get an exterior junction box[1][2], and mount it underneath the deck. Run your LED strip's cord into one side of it (using a cord grip fitting[3]), and run some liquidtight conduit[4][5] into the other side. Run the conduit down one of the deck's posts, and into the ground. You can dig a shallow trench -- 5 to 6 inches -- to run the conduit to your house since it's low voltage. Once you get it to the house, bring the conduit up above ground and pop it into your basement/house/garage/whatever with a type LB fitting[5][6][7]. Run a little bit of PVC conduit[8] from the LB into the house, so that you have a piece of rigid material to use a clamp[9] on. Clamping it to a joist would work well, but if it comes in below the joists, you can also run a piece of plywood against the bottom of the joists to create flat spot to clamp it to.

Now that you're inside the house, you can mount your transformer anywhere nearby and hook it up. Now you don't have to worry about an exterior rated transformer, and you can do fun things like hook it up to a smart wifi-enabled outlet[10] so you can turn things on and off remotely.

This all depends on being able to get a long enough cable with the right connectors for your strip/transformer, or being able to splice the wiring in the junction box.

Also, for fishing the wires through, I've used a long piece of string inserted at one end, and a vacuum hose hooked up to the other end. Just make sure to tie the string to something on the end you stick it in from, so your vacuum doesn't suck the entire thing up. Tie your string at one end to your cable, and pull it through. Make sure you tighten all the covers to the junction/LB when you do it, otherwise you won't get enough suction.

Also, if you can't fit the connectors through the cord grip, you can just drill it out some more and seal it all up with exterior silicone.

Also, in case it wasn't clear, you need one of the liquidtight fittings at each end, and to go from liquidtight to the type LB, you need a female threaded/female socket adapter -- #7 on the list, and then some PVC conduit -- #8 on the list -- into the bottom of the type LB. You'll need some PVC cement[11] for this, and for the conduit going from the type LB into the basement/house/garage.

All of this stuff should be available at a single big box store, but I had to find links from different places since their online inventories don't seem to be complete.

If you can, buy one of these, Wemo Mini Smart Plug, then you can use any lamp or light you already own.

That way you can still remotely control the light. And it works with IFTTT so you might be able to program it so it turns on when you look thought your camera.

Edit: And you can plug in an USB AC adapter to run a strip of LEDs if you wanted to.

Like this. There are many different brands. We actually got one for five bucks on Black Friday when we bought an Echo Dot. You can set it to go on and off at certain times, or turn it on and off via an app or something like an Echo.

Would a smart plug work? It's just a wifi connected outlet that you can plug anything into and have it turn on and off.

I tried a Belkin Wemo version for a couple weeks, but ended up returning it. It worked great integrating with Google Home - "Hey Google, turn on/off the Office Lights" worked flawlessly - but the Belkin version apparently has a common problem with finding Wi-Fi. (The smart plug was 5 feet away from my Asus router with clear line of sight and couldn't find a signal most of the time. Usually 10-20 resets before it would finally find my network and then it stayed connected no problem. But anything that would cause the connection to drop - power outage, firmware update - gone again. Go back into settings and start over) However, no harm in trying it out - you might have a Wi-Fi router/wireless network that the Belkin likes.

Gonna try again with the TP-Link version, which also integrates with Google Home, but waiting to see if there are any sales this week.

I'm all for DIY but why not just buy a WeMo for $20 when on sale? Much safer, don't have to ruin your outlets, and can easily be moved.
