G2 is currently 40cents/bottle on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Gatorade-Thirst-Quencher-Glacier-Bottles/dp/B01KQLV2EK/

Your recommended BCAA is 82cents/serving on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Scivation-Ripped-Branched-Watermelon-Serving/dp/B075RGGZ7Z

So yeah, I'd consider something that is half the price and addresses OP's issue:

  • not "much more expensive" because it's cheaper
  • more effective because it actual goes to the root issue and not some tangential non-sense

TL;DR: BCAAs are not protein. They're amino acids that are often added to protein powder. You can take BCAAs by themselves, too. If you are eating at a caloric deficit, in my experience, adding BCAAs can significantly help with fatigue. I would suggest slightly more protein, maybe closer to 90, but that's, again, my own experience and I'm 35 pounds heavier than you.

Details:
What I'm about to say here is -strictly- my own experience I am not a doctor. I'm female, 40, 5'7, 178 pounds. I eat at a 300 - 500 calorie deficit per day, having gotten my resting metabolic rate tested and using conservative estimates of energy expenditure. I do cardio to manage my anxiety (helps a lot) and lift fairly heavy 3x a week. According to sports medicine tables, I'm an "intermediate" lifter.

I eat about 90 grams of protein a day, which actually was a recommendation from my psychiatrist to help with my depression. I take drugs, but I also do the diet/exercise thing too. However, I find that supplementing with BCAAs, about 7 grams a day on lift days and 3.5 grams a day on off days, REALLY helps with "the bonk." I have less muscle pain and feel less physically tired. I can complete my lifts better.

My understanding is that when you are eating at a deficit, your body sometimes tries to 'eat' muscle in order to liberate amino acids. Even if you've got a fairly high protein diet, this can happen. Supplementing with BCAAs helps keep your body supplied with aminos. Now, idk how much of that is bro science and I haven't taken the time to investigate, but my own experience is that I feel way better on BCAAs -- fwiw I take the Scivation brand. The "naturally sweetened" variety gives me hellacious gas, so I stick with these.

Other possibly culprits for fatigue and brain fog are low B vitamin levels, easily fixed with supplements, low iron, which again can be supplemented or you can hit the dark leafy greens harder, and low Vitamin D. You can try adding these supplements and seeing what happens, or you can get a blood test. Personally, I'm all about just experimenting with supplements for two weeks ot a month and seeing if I feel better, but it's up to you.

Hope some of this is helpful!

Holy crap, was that supposed to be $4 off a $25 tub of creatine? Because I just tried it and it let me check out getting a $25 for $4 instead!

I've been using this stuff which is comparable $/oz to the original price.

This coupon code basically makes it about 85% off.

I use 2 mg- 3 mg a day. I also take L carnitine 1,000. I'm playing with doses right now. The prescription medicine really upsets my stomach..

I have found three four things that help me;

One - I am sure some of your fellow Joes are calm, stonefaced killers. Mimic them, really its that simple.

Two - I find that excessive fear and anxiety is a sign that I am not taking care of my body correctly. Dehydration, bad food, low blood sugar, sleep deprivation etc. Find out what is wrong and correct it.

Three - Get a steady non slutty, non dependa, stable, reasonable mellow girlfriend.

Edit ; A fourth thing This stuff helps me a lot. recommended serving size is 4 I only take 1.

5g beta alanine

5g citrulline malate

200mg caffeine (I'm sure a powder would be cheaper, but these capsules break apart easily and are 200mg)

some kind of sweetener like Crystal Light powder

alright here goes my exhaustive list of stuff that goes into my preworkout! i love to research the stuff that works, and then experiment to see how effectively they work for me, especially on keto.

  1. 1 scoop of pre jym from bodybuilding.com - just because i don't want to add all those ingredients (good compared to most) on my own and it tastes pretty good (raspberry lemonade). it does, however, have 4g carbs per scoop - https://www.bodybuilding.com/store/jym/pre-jym.html

  2. 1/2 scoop of optimum nutrition hydrowhey protein powder (about 15g protein) - fast digesting preworkout protein seems more logical than just bcaas. keeps me satiated during my workout and seems to boost recovery times because i have the full gamut of proper amino acids in my bloodstream as exercise-induced insulin rises. turbo chocolate and chocolate peanut butter are my favorites. vanilla surprisingly sucks and gets very foamy - https://www.bodybuilding.com/store/opt/platinum_hydrowhey.html

  3. 1 tsp curcumin powder from bulk supplements - expensive but 1kg lasts a long time - go to examine.com to see the dozens of benefits it has across the board. i use this to help alleviate my disc issues, but it feels great for workouts because it reduces inflammation everywhere, especially joints. you can get pills instead, but they're not as cost effective and i like to blend it into my shakes. MAKE SURE YOU PAIR IT WITH BIOPERINE (already in pre jym but super cheap anyway) OR GET THE BIO AVAILABLE TYPES. otherwise, only your gut will get the benefits -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GHY364A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

  4. 1 digestive enzyme pill - research has shown that such enzymes not only help with what you'd expect, digestion, but also boost muscle synthesis, immune system, reduce soreness, etc. - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RH5K26I/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  5. 1 tbsp extra citrulline malate - because 1 scoop of pre-jym doesn't have the clinical dose of around 8g. research has shown that it reduces soreness and speeds up muscle repair. i believe it helps performance as well - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EYDJU50/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  6. EDIT: 1/2 tsp (not 2 tsp) extra beta alanine - because 1 scoop of pre-jym doesn't have enough. this stuff kinda acts like creatine, boosting the number of reps you can do. especially helpful on my high rep/speed days. great for crossfit types of workouts if you're into those. i like the tingly feeling as well - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EIO4I8E/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  7. 1/2 tsp potassium citrate - i take electrolytes before and during my workouts -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ENSA93S/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  8. 1/16 tsp magnesium glycinate - one of the most bioavailable forms of mg and doesn't mess up your digestion -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F7OZJR8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  9. 1/2 tsp calcium citrate - Ca and Mg go well together in the body. also, multivitamins rarely hit the RDA for calcium -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00F8I5XPG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  10. 1/2 tsp pink salt - sodium! need lots of it because i sweat a lot - https://www.samsclub.com/sams/himalayan-pink-salt-5-lb-fine-grain/prod20131268.ip

  11. 1/4 tsp vitamin c - i take a lot of vit C to help with disc healing. collagen synthesis requires vit C. of course, great anti-oxidant, great for skin, etc. -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AYIM9Y8/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  12. 1/2 tsp ALCAR - i supplement this mostly for the nootropic effect (boosts the brain and concentration), but it supposedly helps with fat breakdown and energy a little bit. i feel razor sharp concentrated during my workouts with this. also, it's just plain old good for the brain. -
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E7H96DY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1

  13. 200 mg L-theanine - smooths out the jittery feeling from caffeine to provide more stable energy. also good before bed to get higher quality of sleep. -
    https://www.amazon.com/BulkSupplements-Pure-L-Theanine-Powder-grams/dp/B00E7GESLA/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492089341&sr=8-1&keywords=bulk%2Bl-theanine&th=1

  14. 100mg pill RALA - good for the nervous system and energy - https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Stabilized-R-Lipoic-BioEnhanced/dp/B000I4C19G/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492089382&sr=8-1&keywords=doctor%27s+best+rala

  15. 200mg coq10 - good for the heart, boosts energy a bit - https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Absorption-Bioperine-Supplement/dp/B00HRGN36S/ref=sr_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492089466&sr=8-2&keywords=doctor%27s%2Bbest%2Bcoenzyme%2Bq10&th=1

  16. 320mg saw palmetto extract pill - good for men's prostate health, keeps good testosterone high (instead of DHT), and for me, prevents the hairloss that creatine (i think) has induced. not just bs bro science, go to examine.com for research. i personally have regrown a lot of hair by taking 2-3 three of these a day for the last three months! - https://www.amazon.com/Doctors-Best-Palmetto-Softgels-Count/dp/B006RQ6TAG/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492092375&sr=8-1&keywords=doctor%27s+best+saw+palmetto

  17. 1 tbsp psyllium husk powder - keeps my digestion on track, prevents the indigestion i tend to get from MCT oil - https://www.amazon.com/Bulksupplements-Pure-Psyllium-Powder-grams/dp/B0100QRXOO/ref=sr_1_2?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1492092483&sr=1-2-spons&keywords=psyllium%2Bhusk%2Bpowder&th=1

  18. 10g MCT oil - i either use brain octane or miCkey T Eight because they are pure C-8 caprylic acid instead of blends of the crappier acids. definitely boosts energy during long workouts. careful, it tends to mess with your stomach if you don't ease into it. if you're good with coconut oil, you're probably good with this. - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RUCHISS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

  19. 100mg hyaluronic acid - helps with joints and skin. i have noticed my knee and elbow pain going away while taking this. skin complexion also improved. - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00663G8WO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    currently experimenting with:

  20. clear muscle - i usually supplement HMB, but this is the newer liquid variant. its pricey, and i haven't noticed anything bad about it, but it's hard to say if it's working better than the much cheaper powdered HMB. studies are probably very biased, so i can't really trust them - https://www.amazon.com/MuscleTech-Advanced-Strength-Building-Capsules/dp/B00JQ3WXS4/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492094034&sr=8-1&keywords=clear+muscle

  21. phospha muscle - phosphatidic acid has shown some promise in studies, but again, probably biased research. also cannot tell yet, but i have seen some decent strength gains pairing this with clear muscle. we'll see! - https://www.amazon.com/MuscleTech-Phospha-Clinically-Phosphatidic-SoftGels/dp/B00UVAG1PM/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1492094155&sr=8-1&keywords=phospha+muscle

phew! making this list made me realize how much time and effort i put into the trial and error of my preworkout. of course, i supplement a lot of this stuff with my other meals as well. as you can see, i'm very big on supplements, biohacking, and nootropics. i read up a lot on research in my spare time.

Don't forget that the vagina is full of erectile tissue too! L-arginine can do amazing things for women too. A penis is far less sensitive when flaccid.
NOW Foods L-Arginine Powder, 1-Pound https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0019LWV74/ref=cm_sw_r_apa_7Ehmxb8GQMY7P

A proper dose is between 3 and 4 grams per day. It can also be mixed with water based lube for topical use.

In my experience, lateral movements are most always are more pleasurable to women than piston like pumping. Sure a good vigorous pounding is great sometimes but it won't hit all the fun spots of your vag.
With fingers, try having him put 2 or 3 all the way in and move them from front to back, pull up against the pubic bone and push down towards your butt.
The same goes for piv or using a dildo. Think of mixing brownies or stirring a cauldron.
If you are on top, work your hips back and forth and use Curling motions. The pubic bone and perineum work as fulcrums to produce a prying action.
If he's on top, try with him starting out high up so the tip is in and the back of his penis is pressed against your pubic bone, then going straight down. Once all the way in his head should be under the cervix at the P.F. Next, he slides down, grinding his pubis across your clit using your perineum as a fulcrum, his dick will flip across your cervix to the anterior wall of your vag.
The inverse is how the Clitaral alignment technique works. If he starts low with the tip in and the belly of his penis putting pressure on your perineum, as he plunges in, it'll put a lot of pressure on your gspot. Once in, he slides up, pubis across pubis, your clit will get some great stimulation, and his penis wil flip across your cervix and set him up to go back in from the high position. You can go back and forth between the two, or repeat one a few times. It's hell on a man's abs, but it's the most stimulating thing I've found for her. If you curve your hips up and down with him, it'll make things easier for him. Maybe you can try it with a dildo and then show it to him?
I think sometimes a woman and her vagina must be "unlocked"
/u/Beautiful_disasster and I have been together for nearly two years. She had never ejaculated before. It's been with in the past 3 months that she's done it with consistency and have many prolonged orgasms. I think most of that comes from us getting past our personal crap and developing a better bond.

I haven't found all l-theanine's to be helpful. Take 2 [suntheanine](http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Factors-Stress-Relax-Suntheanine-Chewable/dp/B000OEPAH0 with a redbull or coffee though and you. will. feel. calm. Also focused.

Not like REALLY focused, just normal, ok, "I can do this whatevs" focused. It's subtle but absolutely effective. But I use it just about every day.

As cheap as creatine is, just buy a small container and take that with you...keeping it in the original container. [A 150g container of ON is only like $5.] (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0075JUII8/ref=twister_B00466GCQ0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1)

Honestly it sounds like you're drying out your skin a lot with all of those products. My skin is kind of like yours in the sense that whenever I use any sort of foaming cleanser it makes my skin feel so tight and firm (in a bad way) and it hurts. You should go back to the Cerave Hydrating Cleanser - I use that and I LOVE it so much. You need more moisture in your face to heal your skin.. Have you looked into the oil cleansing method? I'd HIGHLY recommend it. I started that and it helped my acne SO SO much. I know that we've been trained to believe oil = bad, but you need them, that's why your skin is overreacting and producing more oils/acne.

There are a ton of oil-based cleansers that are recommended in here, but I make my own because I wanted pure ingredients. I just mix castor oil, sunflower oil, grapeseed oil, and primrose oil into a little jar and mix it up. You don't need all of those, but I'd suggest castor oil and sunflower oil to start. Make sure the sunflower oil is organic and NOT the kind you cook with - I recommend this one it's amazing https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0010EEWP4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 (sunflower oil is high in linoleic acid which you need if you have acne prone skin, and it's low on the comedogenic scale)

What I do is I oil cleanse morning and night - rub the oil mixture on your dry face, massage it in gently for a couple minutes. Then after that I use the cerave hydrating cleanser on top of that to wash it off. The oil cleansing removes oil based dirt (acne, sebum, etc.) and the cleanser helps remove water based dirt (sweat, stuff from every day life, etc.).
After that I use an essence that I'm currently using (like a collagen essence, or snail bee essence, etc. whatever you like), then Mizon snail recovery gel cream (love this so much, and it's so cheap), after that I'll use an aloe gel (just started doing this - I have a lot of redness in my face, not sure how well it'll work yet but so far I like it), then I use Cerave Renewing SA Cream (LOVE this - it's smoothed out my skin SO much, it's amazing for getting rid of those annoying tiny bumps, and it's also got AHA and salicylic acid which is great for acne - it's super gentle though, it doesn't burn or irritate your skin). I also mix a few drops of Pure Rosehip Oil in with my SA cream before I put it on my face. This routine has helped my skin so so so so much, and I think you should try something more along these lines - you could still use your Tretinoin and what not, but you just need more moisture and hydration - you can never have too much!

I know I just suggested a lot of products to you, but try not to overcomplicate things or change up your routine too drastically at once - that can cause breakouts too if you switch it up too often. Introduce new routines slowly and one by one. I'd suggest breaking it down to a basic routine and working new things in, my "bare bones" version of my skin care routine that I do when I'm feeling lazy or in a rush is:
Oil cleanse (with oil mixture)
Double cleanse (Cerave Hydrating)
Moisturize with Cerave SA Renewing Cream mixed with a few drops of Rosehip Oil
(Then sunscreen if I'm going out that day)

Just that routine up there has helped my skin a lot - and it's all focused on healing your moisture barrier, which will help your acne. And like I said the SA Cream is great for that too - honestly I can stroke my face now and it's SO smooth, I've never had that in my life. So I feel your pain.

Also, what's your diet/lifestyle like? Do you consume dairy, sugar, caffeine, etc.? If so, you should definitely work on cutting all of those out.. I know it's tough, but they are terrible for your skin and all promote acne. Since you've got it all over your face, it's definitely coming from a lot of different areas (your liver, kidneys, hormonal, etc.). A SUPER helpful and incredible video in regards to curing acne from the inside out is this one, it's long but SO worth the watch.. Along with finding the right skin care routine for the outside, you need to cure the inside of your body as well. Restore your gut and liver health, cleanse your body. When you have toxins built up inside of you that shows up on your face. Definitely check out this video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0B7RXCp47k&t=141s

Look into possibly getting some L-Lysine supplements (I like these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00014WXQO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), and a good liver cleanser (I use this one - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012TME2U/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 it's all natural, works very well)

Drink PLENTY of water every day (2 liters), eat lots of healthy plant-based foods, exercise regularly, meditate, all that good stuff :).

Best of luck to you, I know how frustrating this is. Remember to be patient, it takes time for your skin to adapt to a new routine and repair itself (usually 4-6 weeks to start seeing results).

u/PeatM0ss · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Hi! Adding in L-Lysine really made a difference for me. It's an amino acid that has androgen blocking effects (similar to spironolactone).

I originally heard about it from Organic Olivia:
https://www.organicolivia.com/?s=l-lysine

This is the one I use:
https://www.amazon.com/Solgar-L-Lysine-1000-250-Tablets/dp/B00014WXQO?th=1

I'm taking 1000mg with dinner and 500mg at breakfast ~

Hope that helps! :)

u/KerfuffleV2 · 2 pointsr/vegan

Glad to help!

I just want to be clear though - seitan is low in lysine and both hemp and brown rice proteins that I mentioned are also low in lysine. So those probably won't help you pick up the slack with your lysine intake.

I noticed that you said you can eat tofu. That's good because soy is a complete protein and should have adequate amounts of lysine. It's actually strange since you said you couldn't tolerate soy-based meat substitutes. I can't really think of a reason directly related to soy that tofu would be okay (basically just coagulated soy milk) but soy based milk substitutes wouldn't. The only thing that comes to mind is some of them like Butler soy curls use the whole soybean and would have stuff like fiber from the soy in them. Most of them use a more processed type of soy like soy protein isolate which should be less likely to cause problems even compared to tofu.

In the worst case it's possible to find a pure lysine supplement like this one from Solgar or Now.

u/karlgnarx · 2 pointsr/bjj

The majority of weight you gain on it will be water weight. When you cease taking it, you will drop that weight. The general consensus rate at which that happens seems to be between a few days and a week.

How close are you to competition? If close, don't risk it. If not, allow ample time to see how it affects you and plan accordingly.

Don't buy creatine with a bunch of other shit in it. Keep it simple. Creatine monohydrate (by itself) is cheap and effective.

u/throwpuffa · 2 pointsr/stopsmoking

Yes, I did this and it worked for me. I'd tried to quit many times before, but this time it stuck and I just hit one cigarette-free year last month. I'm running three times a week (check out /r/C25K), I've lost 20 pounds, and I'm just generally a much happier person and feel a lot better about myself. Right now, I'm making my periodic quick stop by here, so I'm going to paste something I wrote in response to a 25 year old who was thinking of quitting. It will give you an idea of my method. Hope it helps.

>Man, I wish /r/stopsmoking had been around when I was your age. I was in this exact same situation when I turned 25; I had started at 18 and had always told myself I would quit at 25. Yeah. It lasted less than the first day of my 26th year.
Now I'm more than a decade older and I think I may finally have done it. (Still a slippery slope though...)
But I cringe when I think about how much extra damage I've done to my lungs, my heart, my blood, my reproductive organs, my skin in those years. What would my body be like if I had stuck to that goal? How much healthier would I be? What life goals might I attained had I not been constantly scheming for the next smoke break? How much money would I have saved or put toward more worthy goals? Where would I be in life? The list goes on and on.
My point? Don't be me. Read the hell out of this subreddit, take what you need from it.
I've tried to quit many, many, many times before. Right now I'm 90 days in and feeling more confident than any other attempt.
This time, I picked a long weekend in advance, a weekend when I knew I could not leave my house. I told everyone I was sick and stayed in bed/on the couch for three days during the nicotine withdrawal. I ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted.
Once the shit was out of my system, I still gave myself free rein to eat whatever/whenever for a week, but I started exercising. Walking up steep hills is good, as are yoga and breathing exercises. Get outside into nature if you can, and breathe in some of that sweet, sweet air untainted by cigarette smoke.
Leaving the house the first few times was scary - the car is one of my biggest triggers - but I took snacks with me (only needed them the first two or three times) and was just determined to go where I needed and nowhere else. I even was unexpectedly low on gas once and didn't feel too tempted to go in and buy cigs. I posted on here once before I left, so I had that waiting for me when I got home, knowing I needed to let people know if I had caved or held strong. It felt great to write, "I did it!" when I walked in the door.
Other thoughts: drink LOTS of water, tea, whatever. Detox tea, stress relief tea, breathing support teas are all especially helpful (I like Yogi teas the best for all three of these.). Get some Suntheanine chews to help get you through the crabby moments. (I got mine at a local health food store, but most Whole Foods type stores carry it too. Here's the brand I have and a way to order online too: http://www.amazon.com/Natural-Factors-Stress-Relax-Suntheanine-Chewable/dp/B000OEPAH0/ref=sr_1_2?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1386147081&sr=1-2&keywords=suntheanine) Go on /r/stopsmoking a lot - post as you need and read other's posts for inspiration. Remember all the shit of smoking (sore throat, coughing, stinking, wasting money, wasting time, feeling like crap, dying of cancer, etc.), and just commit to being a nonsmoker.
You CAN do this.

u/kittyspoiler · 2 pointsr/cats

This lysine is cheap while this one is more palatable. Each would be 1/4 tsp on food twice a day. And for a single cat either container would last a long time.

u/yard-sard · 2 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

I'm super late to comment on this thread but I just found it. I'm a super stressed out grad student who lives in a chilly area, so I've been getting cold sores even more frequently than I usually do (from once or twice a year previously up to once every 2-3 months). I have a doctor appointment on Monday to try and get a valacyclovir prescription, but for now i like these to cover cold sores and sorta keep them from spreading around my lips and face. As for other treatments and remedies I have tried:

  • Abreva does nothing for me.

  • Carmex helps keeps my lips hydrated so they are not cracking/bleeding, which I think increases likelihood of more sores popping up, and reduces itching for me but doesn't reduce the duration of outbreaks.

  • Lysine+ and similar ointments like this have not done much for the pain/itching and seem to smear the cold sore germs around my lips/skin around my mouth.

  • The old Campho-Phenique (the tube said "with drying action") helped to dry up my cold sores very quickly, but then I would have to be careful that the cracked scabs wouldn't tear and ooze germs everywhere. The new Campho-Phenique does nothing for me.

  • Home remedies such as icing the area when it first tingles or using earl grey tea as a compress have been temporarily soothing, but not worked for me to reduce the duration of outbreaks.

Hopefully this is helpful for someone -- although some treatments may be effective for some, I think prescription medication is the best bet. I'm tired of dealing with outbreaks, so valacyclovir it is.

This is also very good to take, and it contains both L-Tyrosine and L-Phenylalanine, which are both dopamine replenishers.

I would definitely add this to your daily supplement regimen:

Its all good dude, for electrolytes I like to use capsule's like these. Makes it easy and you dont have to figure out ratios on your own. You can by them seperately as Magnesium citrate, Potassium Citrate, and you can Get Sodium from kosher or Pink himilayan sea salt. Sea salt is good because it contains other trace minerals as well. For Muscle recovery Glutamine and BCAA's are amazing.

I'm no excercise elitist either. We love doing bike rides to brewerys and back. I just save the recovery until i'm done drinking. I've found that to be pretty effective.

u/JohnnyQBensis · 2 pointsr/StackAdvice

If I were you, I'd start with something really basic. Maybe do the caffeine/l-theanine combo. I just started this one myself. The ratio is essentially 100 mg caffeine to 200 mg l-theanine. You can buy the capsules [here] (https://www.amazon.com/Nutricost-L-Theanine-200mg-120-Capsules/dp/B01B3RWQNM/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1519046041&sr=8-4&keywords=nutricost%2Bl%2Btheanine&dpID=41unIv6vY2L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch&th=1)
and just make yourself a cup of coffee. An 8 oz cup of coffee usually has between 95-150 mg of caffeine which puts you right in the perfect range. Give it a shot and see where it takes you. Don't exceed 400 mg per day, anecdotal evidence claims that it has no extra effect.

I use Scivation Xtend FREE BCAAs (strawberry kiwi), and I love them! This version is slightly more pricey than other BCAAs, but it has NO artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners (does contain 1g sugar and Stevia though). I haven't tried any other BCAAs, but I figured it would be best to avoid as much artificial crap as possible!

For creatine, I just get plain old creatine monohydrate -- no need to get "creatine" supplements that have almost no creatine in them and a bunch of other crap. Specifically, I get it from the brand bulk supplements because it is just cheap bulk creatine -- I prefer the micronized powder form instead of forms with bigger granules, as it is easier to mix that way. This is what I buy. Take 5g per day and you're set.

u/more-coffee-please- · 2 pointsr/MaladaptiveDreaming

No, it’s a supplement you can buy OTC. It’s $10 for 100 pills (so 50 days). Here’s what I bought but there are many brands: Swanson NAC N-Acetyl Cysteine https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F92YLRW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

u/biodrones · 2 pointsr/vegan

Vegan BCAA powder (and pre-workout with BCAA) is cheap and easy to find. I got a decent sized bag for $15. Most creatine supplements already vegan because it's cheaper to synthesize it than to extract it from animals. For your omega-3s, you can get the full set of them from an algae-based omega 3 supplement. Those are more expensive than getting it from fish oil, but they provide the same fatty acid molecules.

Gluten and soy powders are cheap ways to get the lean protein you need. You can also get chickpea flour.

u/Ih8herpes · 1 pointr/Herpes

I just take the regular lysine powder and mix it in some water. 2 scoops. I just looked up super lysine though and it looks pretty good. 1500 mg a day is more than I'm taking though. I'm taking about 800-1000 mg and it's been very effective.

It's a bit funky for me. Two weeks in I worked out for about an hour and felt like crap for the rest of the day.

Three weeks in I worked out really intense for an hour, felt like crap for 2 hours, and then fully recovered.

Sometimes my muscles seem sore for a bit longer. I always give myself a 2-day recovery instead of a 1-day.

Some supplements that might help are taking L-Arginine 30 minutes before a workout, and I chew some Navajo Osha Root after a workout (I go to the reservation to buy this stuff). Also helps tremendously to put a teaspoon of Himalayan pink salt in water and down it after a workout to restore your electrolytes. Same with a potassium supplement - great for post workout recovery. You can buy all-in-one electrolyte powders, but it's going to be expensive in the long run.

u/JayStavy · 1 pointr/pics

Anyone who has the dry cracking lip problems should try this stuff its not the same as the lysine brand stuff you can find in stores. I used to work as a pharmacy tech and had tons of people complaining about the chapped lips problem with accutane. I ordered this in for a few of them and it worked so well for them that one of my patients came in crying that it was such a relief to her after months of agony. It seriously works and its dirt cheap. Try it.

This is what I'm taking. There's no 'protein' section. So for one scoop, is it 9500 mg or 9.5 g of protein? (I just added all the AAs together to get that number)

u/alwayspickingupcrap · 1 pointr/Nootropics

I used Swanson and it's just as good as the NOW I'm on now.

u/MissyScorpio · 1 pointr/ketogains

I find that I actually crave salt on my food now (that is, table salt). I never felt this need before when doing the SAD diet. (Ha, that's a tautology). Sodium has been mis-characterized as the devil in the modern diet because the modern diet seems to adamantly blame our ails on everything but carbs. When, in fact, a high salt intake is not only safe -- but encouraged -- on a low carb diet.

This is one of the many reasons I will happily swap pineapple for ribeye in butter seasoned with sea salt crystals. (;

From what I understand, a ketogenic diet is inherently diuretic, and one can lose their electrolytes. I supplement with this BCAA powder (I sip on it all day) That way I kill two birds with one stone (get my BCAAs in, and my electrolytes) http://www.amazon.com/Scivation-Xtend-Nutritional-Supplement-Nectar/dp/B00EED85VU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396925445&sr=8-1&keywords=scivation+xtend+mango+nectar

So yesterday I tried this combo:

1 scoop Jarrow Creatine
30 mins before Jiu Jitsu.

Breakfast:
8 a.m:

1 slice of Ezekiel sourdoug toast with almond cream cheese.
Shake with Nutiva hemp protein, 1/2 banana, blueberries, water, almond milk, almond butter and a splash of flax seed oil.

Tea mix of whole foods yerba matte and spoonful of matcha.

11:30 a.m:

1 scoop BCAA in my water bottle for during class & open mat (1.5 hours)

2 p.m.:

1 scoop Glutamine
1/2 Scoop Nutiva Hemp Protein Powder

Grilled two veggie sausages with a tad of almond cheese melted on two whole wheat hot dog buns.

About 20-30 mins after eating I pretty much crashed and had to take a nap. Was tired the rest of the day. Took 1 B-complex vitamin before bed and slept in till about 8:15 am. Usually wake up before 7 and feel fine.

If it matters, for dinner I had a bowl of quinoa with grilled corn, vegetables and some seitan chorizo, a small glass of wine and after a beer.

Noticed that at Jiu Jitsu I was in beast mode but felt my mind was clear. I was worried the creatine would give me anxiety like a lot of other similar supplements often do. I felt great and had some amazing matches. Went harder with some of the tougher dudes but held my own and felt great.

I'm thinking maybe I need to work on my post workout food/routine. Maybe I need to bring a shake that's ready for right after with protein powder and glutamine or something. Any suggestions?

u/orrery · 1 pointr/Fitness

Add some L-Glutamine to your protein shake. Improve your gut with more probiotics. Buy some weights so that even when you're at your computer you can be doing curls. Getting ripped means you are literally ripping your muscles, you will feel them tear, then sleep and let them heal. They'll heal up faster with L-Glutamine.

u/SkinSuitNumber37 · 1 pointr/Kava

Try ashwaganda. I have extreme anxiety and it helps. Kava never helped me enough. Ashwaganda takes 3 hours to kick in however. A quicker solution is suntheanine chewables which has l-theanine in it. The same ingredient in other products has not helped, assuming cause it's chewable. Anxiety really kicks my ass.. klonapin and other benzos is what I prefer but having trouble getting a script for it :(

Also, what order/dosage would you recommend for these ones? Is it the same as if I was taking the other supplements you recommended? Thinking about adding magnesium (I have teeth grinding problems) and grapeseed extract... How can I maximize those supplements' potentials?

You're welcome.

>Did you take any antivirals for your first outbreak? I'm really hoping the acyclovir will help and that this outbreak won't last that long. Fingers crossed!

No I did not. I saw a doctor and he did not suggest any. My doctor said, you have HSV and every once in a while when you're body is under stress a blister can show up. But you don't need medication. If this occurs frequently like every month then we could consider. So no antivirals for me. Apply an ointment if possible.

Basic Organics L-Lysine Lip Ointment, 0.875 oz https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GG0WOC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_4Qigzb5RM8030

I own this and it works for me. Usually open blisters fade in 2 days after applying. Another 2 days and you can only see a small spot left. One week and nothing is visible. Btw, I'm a dude.

>Just wondering, did you start on suppressive treatment after your initial outbreak? Additionally, how many further outbreaks do you usually get per year? Sorry for all these questions, but it really does feel reassuring to talk to someone who has been through it.

Don't worry about the questions. I'm glad you're looking at objectively. I hope my answers give you some assurance and help you manage this challenge.

To answer your question, No, I did not start suppressive therapy like until 2015. And honestlyI did not need to. But nothing wrong if you did it. I would say that is good management. Also, I self medicated my suppressive therapy and it has worked . So if you consulted your doctor with regards to this, Kudos you're doing better than a lot of people out there. I use this :
Quantum Super Lysine, 180 Tabs, 1 Bottle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001CMZB4U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_fZigzbBQ6J4VF

>I actually have no idea how anyone has the ability to do that during an outbreak. The sores sting like a bitch.

I know it hurts. But usually restrain yourself a couple of days after a breakout . Otherwise it's food. Have a good day. Tc

True Nutrition is vegan and you can save 5% with code "GOVEGAN"

Micro Ingredients is vegan and pretty cheap.

I've heard people say purple wraath is vegan, but I haven't confirmed that with CL. I have a friend who trains BJJ and he sips on it through his workout. It isn't just BCAA's - it's BCAAs + EAA's + beta alanine + citrulline malate + betaine + ginger. I love the way it tastes.

Also fuck Kirkland, I would never trust their fish oil, hell, just fucking eat fish, excess fish oil has been shown to cause adverse effects anyways. Food is best source of protein powder, and if you go that route why even bother getting beta alanine powder.

Sure here's a story, i was in a FWB relationship with a girl who asked me to come over. I told her i had to go to my nephews birthday party. she texted me back that she would just have one of the other guys she was seeing come over and fuck her.

Not a very nice thing to do. I couldn't keep my dick up around her for about a week.

I bought some viagra, even though i knew it was a mental block. Took it once or twice and never had another problem.

I would suggest buying some l-carnatine or l-arganine. they are both supplements that release nitric-oxide into the blood that will increase blood flow. Its a simple physiological response.

I am an avid weightlifter and take them for the strenght effects (#gainz) but do have noticibly harder erections and better orgasms as well. *penis pills work for women too honestly could try viagra if you are able to get your hands on it.

Just do this to "get over the hump" i'm sure your orgasms will come back, but after trying these supplements, you might never want to go back!!
