Replaced every light in the gauge cluster with a 194 LED. I purchased a pack of 20 from Amazon. Best $9 so far! No, the don't dim..... but it looks better, brighter and cleaner looking.

I suppose the difficulty would depend what your local junkyard has because everything I got for my car from there was an 'option' to buyers. Lots of them came on the LTZ.

I don't think I am going to go with LED brake lights and turn signals because I was reading on the forum that it can cause problems, and I don't feel like dealing with it.

I replaced the front map light bulbs and the cargo light bulb. Huge difference. Rear maps are standard stock.


Same exact camera settings on all 4 pics in this album. F1.7, 1/8s, ISO800. No other lighting nearby.


Definitely much better, especially in the cargo. Literally night and day. These might be overkill for the front. Not sure about durability and reliability though. We'll see!

I picked up a set similar to these bed lights on amazon. It's two sets of 4 lights, I cut off one on each, and put them in the toolbox. Mine didn't completely fit under the lip, but they're not in the way either. I would recommend them.

Any one tried to fit these in before? Both Amazon and Philips said it’s a fit with our cars but it felt like a little bit too big for the socket.

The dash really doesn't look this blue in person. More white with just a touch of blue. The dash film itself has a blue tint to it to I guess counteract some of the yellow of the factory bulbs. The LED's themselves are stark white.

Beware most of them. They're fine for inside but placing them outside is risky unless you find ones with quality board and construction. These work great in my map-lights and glovebox, but blink like hell randomly in the tag light. I have the same brand of switchback signals like these and they're perfect so YMMV with Grandview lights. YITAMOTOR also makes the T10s similarly, and will blink in the tag. Haven't tried others yet.

I think that's the size I tried at PepBoys, and seemed slightly longer than what was installed.

Those are reported to be 31mm, and I measured mine to be just under 30mm. and they were in super tight.

Plus, the stock ones seem to have a little sharp nub that was part of my measurement which seems to essentially shorten it further. (Like the one one the left here) Maybe it will be Ok, but I was afraid of over-tensioning the spring retainer clip.

Where’d you get your cluster done at? Mines looking pretty dim but on later 1st gens they soldered in the bulbs which makes replacing them not as easy and I’m not comfortable enough to do it myself.

My AC control doesn’t have working lights either, sometimes the fan speed side comes on if I hit it but not all the time so I’d love an answer for this too.

Hey guys, I want to replace my license plate lights and interior lights with LED lights in my BRZ. Can I use a CANBUS led bulb? I want to buy this one off amazon. Also is there any risk of ruining electronics in the car if I use aftermarket bulbs in the dome light, license plate lights, etc? Is it bad to use a CANBUS bulb in a non-CANBUS car?
