I've been eating home made bread with chocolate sprinkles on top and dutch cheese as a side dish every day since January 1. I've lost 33 pounds.

How? Calorie deficit.

u/-jp- · 14 pointsr/politics

That's old hat. The new hotness is make the candy bars smaller, but label them as 100-calorie packs so you can charge more than double the price per oz. Yay capitalism!

u/woodsini · 5 pointsr/ireland

Or you could go bigger and still not share them.... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07318ZZLL/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_k4f1DbP7Y9K72

I added a couple more breakdown categories. Until a couple weeks ago everything was just one list. The oldest thing(s) would probably be something from the DVD list and/or on one of the book lists.

For my one thing, probably [this] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071KYYTH2/?coliid=I103TEA77Y6ZKA&colid=13SWQKNO7L75W&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it) candy.

Since I only "know" a couple of people here, u/rainbowterfly and u/nonconformingrole get the tags.

u/Symbolis · 4 pointsr/todayilearned

Not sure, but they're tasty!

There's also York pieces and Hershey's pieces.

When she's down or has had a bad day, I'll buy her a Nerds Rope.

It's her favorite candy.

gosh darn it, did I miss this Amazon Prime deal yesterday?

u/Concise_Pirate · 3 pointsr/NoStupidQuestions

Because they "cheated" and made it a 30 ounce bag, a bit less than 2 pounds.

Oh man, I want this soooo bad. I've never had one before and I'm so excited about the idea of having some wizard cards!

These [twizzlers] (https://www.amazon.com/Twizzlers-TWIZZLERS-Twists-Strawberry-105-Count/dp/B00X3GA1PC/ref=sr_1_102_s_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1473724361&sr=1-102&keywords=Bulk+candy&refinements=p_36%3A698503011) are 5 cents each. Get 5 boxes of 105 count for about 500 ($25).

These [smarties] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004CHACSM/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new) are about 7 cents per individually wrapped roll. Get the $18 pack for 250 more pieces of candy. (Now you're at 750 pieces for $43 and free shipping on the options I saw!)

Then here's the great deal: [these individually wrapped lifesavers are about 2.5 cents per piece!!] (https://www.amazon.com/Lifesavers-Hard-Candy-Five-Flavor/dp/B00IDQX5VO/ref=sr_1_185_s_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1473725058&sr=1-185&keywords=Bulk+candy&refinements=p_36%3A698503011) Add these in for $7 and you've got 1058 pieces for approximately $50 and free shipping!

So any combo of these prices and you'll be in good shape. I don't think my mom even remembers much nickel-per-piece and under candies! :)

Then I am partial to chocolate so here's a good one: [these are about 5.4 cents per piece and it mentions a 20 percent off coupon!] (https://www.amazon.com/HERSHEYS-Halloween-Assortment-48-Ounce-Pieces/dp/B00I1MRX0E/ref=sr_1_52_s_it?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1473726034&sr=1-52&keywords=Bulk+candy)

Also, search for bulk bit-o-honey because they are good and they are on the site for about 7 cents per.

pay attention in class!

Ok, so I know most people wouldn't pick this as 'the greatest, most-handy, neatest or most useful thing' BUT I use them to make holiday cookies. Yup, that's right. I make interesting and fun cookies and pies, etc for family and friends during the holidays.

Thanks for doing the contest and Happy Holidays! :-)

British candy

I would suggest some cool Japanese candy, or Dagashi for your daughter! If you want to switch it up btwn candy and small items, you could get a package like this and use some for an advent calendar and some for her stocking.

I make things too! I am currently a cross stitch addict, and will be working on a few projects soon. I'm in between projects- I just finished this double sided Pokemon bookmark, so now I'm fiending for something new to stitch.

As for Thanksgiving? Inviting Cthulu into your home is a bit more terrifying than, let's say, a Turduckin.

I like to do a dry brine on my birds- the last few years its gotten rave reviews. Rinse the bird and pat dry with prayer towels. You rub the bird with like 1/3 cup of kosher salt mixed with a tablespoon of between sugar and a teaspoon of fresh cracked pepper.

Make sure you rub it in between the breast skin and breast meat too, lifting the skin up a little to really get it there. Make sure the giblets and any packages are removed from the birdie.

Then you let it sit, uncovered, overnight in the fridge. Before putting it in the oven, rinse the bird and pat dry with paper towels.

Let the bird sit at room temperature for 30-60 minutes. Rub the bird with a stick of room temperature butter. Be sure to rub some under the breast skin. Shmear it all up in dat birdie. Truss the bird if you'd like.

Add a cup of water to the roasting pan- use a pan with a rack. Cook 30 minutes at 500 degrees F to get a crispy skin. After 30 mins, reduce heat to 350, and cook and additional 1.5-2 hrs, or until the temp of the bird (in thickest part of thigh) reaches 155 degrees Fahrenheit.

The brine gives the bird such a delicious flavor!

Susie, Janikqa and Johnny were neighbors. Susie was in 6th grade, while Janikqa and Johnny were in 4th grade. Johnny's parents let him watch whatever he wanted, so Janikqa and Susie would always come over to his house to watch scary movies. Their favorites were The Blair Witch Project and Chucky. The three friends would hang out and watch scary movies about once a week. So, all the time! They also LOVED candy. The three friends were counting down the days to halloween so they could dress us as their favorite scary characters and get all kinds of candy. Susie loved dum dums. She was hoping to get enough of those tiny lollies to last her two months! Mostly because her mom was really into health food and NEVER bought her candy. In fact, Susie knew she was going to have to hide some of her candy so that her mom wouldn't force her to donate it. But, that was okay. She was really good at finding hiding spots. She was getting hungry just thinking about all the candy she would get! Janikqa loved anything gum or gummy. Her favorite candies were twizzlers, jolly ranchers and bubble gum. Her mom bought her candy whenever she asked, though, so halloween wasn't that exciting for her. But she did love dressing up. Johnny loved chocolate more than life itself. Man, if he could eat butterfingers and crunch bars all day….well, he would.

Anyway, the three friends were counting down the days to halloween. Johnny had his scream mask and black robe all ready for his costume, Susie had her Wednesday Adams costume all set and Janikqa was going as a zombie. They all got together at Johnny's house on halloween and put on their costumes. They made a pact to share their candy after trick or treating so that they would all get more of their favorites. Johnny really wanted all the chocolate and he made that very clear to his friends. They went to all 40 houses in their neighborhood before calling it quits. Only three houses didn't have any candy, so their pillowcases were pretty full. They divide up the candy at Johnny's house and started eating some of their favorite candies. Eventually they all passed out because they ate too much candy! And every year, from that year on, the three friends continued this tradition of going trick or treating together and sharing their halloween candies.

True story: My mom made me do this when I was a kid.

The good stuff from the Netherlands is pretty much pure chocolate (sugar, cocoa, cocoa butter). It is eaten on sandwiches more than ice cream.

My add-on item (yum!)

My guilty pleasure song is Europe's 'The Final Countdown'.

I found out that space aliens are not our division, so we let them run hog wild.

I think we both need this in our life. I also have lots of music under a dollar on my main wishlist.

CANDY!!!!!!!!!!!

My favorite is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, but I prefer them frozen. The combination of salty, creamy peanut butter with the sweet and crunchy chocolate is pure bliss.

u/cleverusername404 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Men are like wine. Some turn to vinegar, but the best improve with age.

  1. Its a damn candle. That opens up while it burns, AND its intended to be placed on top of a cake. Happy birthday to you.

  2. This is seriously some of the best stuff ever for a colicky baby.

  3. This is a holy cow!

  4. Because really, who doesn't love getting all up close and personal with your siblings and in-laws?

  5. I was thinking about going in the direction of drug addicts with this one, but then I decided to go with journalists. So, its a type writer, because you can obviously write things on a typewriter.

  6. This is a shirt with a saying about women that marry firefighters.

  7. The first thing I think of when someone says Superman is his hair. He pretty clearly spends a lot of time making that little curly q.

  8. This isn't one of the big superheroes, but he's a dog. Can you think of another hero that is going to be more loyal? Until a squirrel runs by, that is.

  9. My grandfather is the wonderful father in my life. When he saw that my parents were not doing what they needed to in regards to keeping my brother and I safe, he told my grandmother that she needed to get custody of us. He never wanted kids, and didn't have any biological kids of his own, and after finishing up with my mother and aunts, he had told her that he would never raise another child. He didn't have to give us the life that he did, and he works his ass off even now to help me out with my two boys. He stepped up to be a father figure to my son when my husband was not doing what he should as a father. He even took on a father roll for my husband, who didn't grow up with a father either. He runs heavy equipment, and taught me how to run a backhoe by the time I was 12 years old. That was really long.

  10. The perfect combination of peanut butter and chocolate. Of course!

Bonus #1: I totally lurked through your comment history thinking I was clever. Nothing. So here's my guess

I'm not even going to try #2, because there are so many options. Thanks for the contest, this was fun!

perpetually angst-ridden ass fucks

Complete set of scrubs

Three chocolate oranges

Bean bag

People seem to love the Nessie Ladle

There's also a colander spoon thing

And I don't think we've met - hi, I'm 82364!

u/Likely_not_Eric · 1 pointr/GiftIdeas

I like to avoid "stuff" for Secret Santas since many people already have too much of it.

Chocolate

With the description (purple/gold) given I'd try to import some nice Cadbury chocolates. Flake is a texture you won't commonly find in US candy, so might be extra neat.

My mother used to love Quality Street (Nestle), however, the recently made it more "modern" and less "cute".

Software

I like the idea of giving the gift of time. So recently I've been considering software subscriptions to cool services. It's free - but subscription has nice features. Remember the Milk - though you might be careful as the recipient might think you're sending a message.

Clothing

Super girly socks - Like these, or these (toe socks are awesome). I've done socks before; went over well - didn't send the wrong message (don't get anything sexy).

Slippers - I'm not providing any links because I didn't see any that were the right kind of silly.

Household

Nice soaps! - The kind of bar of soap you'd put out for guests. Maybe lavender. Nice soap is awesome.

Some left-field stuff right here purple marbles for vases. Maybe 2-3 pounds. But! Not for vases, but rather the bathroom sink. Want to go darker on this one. Here's the result: http://imgur.com/AlkIdCC
