Kilmat

Roller

Difficulty is a 1, it's very easy, just pop the door panel off, get some rubbing alcohol and clean the surfaces and get to it, I would take a sheet and plan out where I would place it and then peel the backing off and work it in with your hands, then i would use the roller linked above to press it on. The matting is also easy to cut with a decent pair of scissors. The box i bought had 50 sheets, and was precut which made it extremely easy to handle. I put the matting inside the door panel and on the vapor barrier. It's tedious and your hands may get a little cut up but it's manageable. I did all 4 doors and behind the backseat, that total was 40 sheets, each door took me around an hour from panel off to back on and the backseat took about an 90 minutes total.

I would suggest following the linked guide with a few changes / notes below : https://www.fiat500owners.com/threads/how-to-2012-fiat-500-double-din-radio-install.7412/

  1. The double din dash adapter seems a bit iffy from the Amazon reviews, YMMV: https://www.amazon.com/Scosche-FT4276B-Double-Select-Vehicles/dp/B00RL9L9F8/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=FT4276B&qid=1573525758&sr=8-1
  2. Antenna Adapter on Amazon for ~10 bucks: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DWLTP6R/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  3. For the headunit I'm assuming you'd want bluetooth and Android Auto / Apple Carplay? I would highly suggest the Kenwood DMX706S : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SMBMQ5Z/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  4. To use the head unit after install without actually splicing your parking brake and other cables, get the Kenwood bypass cable: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FY8P9QC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  5. To tie all this together, you'll need the wiring harness. I suggest idatamaestro:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E4W1644/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B012F8RC1Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You will make an account and flash the firmware to the appropriate car make/year and head unit model.

I've only installed a basic 1 DIN stereo on my old 2013 500. I suggested the above head unit and wiring harness because I've installed that on my 2017 500 and had great results. Best of luck.

Take radio out

Buy this and connect it to your harness where the radio was plugged in

Then a crossover amp

Rest is up to you

This is the head unit I purchased from Amazon: KUNFINE 9 Inch Octa Core Android 8 Car DVD GPS Navigation Car Stereo Multimedia Player Radio Headunit for Subaru WRX 2016 2017 Supports WiFi https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZVTWDB/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_u7nUCbYQE8J0C

Took less than a month to deliver. It was all plug and play. Camera worked without a volt converter on my 2017 WRX. The only adapter I had to get was the antenna one as their provided one did not work.

I strongly advise against hacking apart the factory harness. It’s a huge pain, and it’ll be even worse if you ever try to change out the radio again. Instead buy/order an adapter harness like this. You’ll also need that antenna adapter, which is why I linked to that kit.

u/Tec_ · 3 pointsr/CarAV

It’s not to old, the kits just aren’t cheap. Metra/Axxess still makes the single din kit. The double din kit has been discontinued but still exists in a few locations online. PAC-Audio also has their multi kit for single or double din installs.

Typically if you're pulling the factory radio you will want to get a stereo harness kit that will plug into the factory clips. You can then wire the new stereo to this wire harness. Something like this is what I think you're missing --

That it for parts, There is not much info on the 2017 Camry, but it looks like the stereo is the same as the 2016, if you could post a pic of the connectors I can make sure these parts are right. But these should be the correct parts.

They will fit multiple years, and possibly other GM models but they aren't totally universal.

You need something like this, I don't know what model radio you have. Just punch it into Amazon or Crutchfield's site to get the right pigtail. https://www.amazon.com/XDMA6415-XDMA6630-XDVD-8181-GETWIREDUSA-USA4/dp/B01EKKKUFA

You will also need a 1-DIN beauty plate for your car, and maybe a 2-DIN to 1-DIN adapter plate if your current radio is a 2-DIN size (I don't know what Buick put in those cars in 99).

Add all this up and you're getting fairly close to the cost of a new radio from Crutchfield, where they'll include all this for free with the new radio - including a pigtail so you don't have to cut the OEM wiring harness inside the car.

You can get a harness that will connect to the factory harness under the passenger seat- https://www.amazon.com/2010-2019-AutoHarnessHouse-com-Factory-Upgrade-AHH-4438/dp/B01BSEGCQW

But you will probably still need some sort of high level to low level adapter. The audio control LC2i will work, but there are others... Just pick the one that best suits your need. I installed a new system in my Tundra but changed out the head unit as well, so I ran RCAs. Good luck!

Right. The Mini-PAC comes with a wire harness that looks like you'd just plug it in. And on the U-trak page they mention an "Optional USB2 interface" that looks like it's just the pin header you'd plug the trackball connection to and a USB connector. Do you know what kind of trackball you have? I've got an old one that looks like this. https://www.amazon.com/Track-Ball-Arcade-Trackball-Translucent/dp/B00J1M38PC/ Two 4-pin connections and I had to use a cable like this to connect it to a 60-in-1 board. https://www.amazon.com/Jamma-Replacement-Wiring-Harness-Trackball/dp/B00F1YQHMK/

And I've got a newer trackball that looks like this. https://www.amazon.com/Track-Arcade-Trackball-Jamma-Icade/dp/B00OX0MKD8/

Oh! Found this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7w_8zXYno8 In the comments someone asks about the USB interface they used. It's a U-HID Nano. http://www.u-hid.com/home/uhid_nano.php A nano would be enough for 1 trackball. For the arcade style trackballs, you'd need a harness that looked sort of like this https://www.amazon.com/Jamma-Trackball-Interface-Wiring-Harness/dp/B00F1YQHDE/ or maybe this https://www.amazon.com/Trackball-Interface-Wiring-Harness-Trackballs/dp/B01AIM5HZC/ but I'm not sure these would be wired correctly for what you want. The trackball/spinner harness for the Mini-PAC should be correct. For your setup, you may be able to swap the wires around on that last harness if it's not wired correctly.

That 'original' plug is not the original plug. You would need this http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00ZGCYF0S/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?
qid=1463120252&sr=8-4&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=iso+car+stereo+harness&dpPl=1&dpID=41bO6UYykKL&ref=plSrch or similar, cut into the original wiring to connect to alpine unit.

EASY! you can do the install yourself ALL those Chrysler RES NON boston radios are nothing special. i done a FULL system in my 2012 200 (dual amps, new speakers, head unit and subwoofer). Right so head over to amazon or crutchfeild.

for a new radio you'll need a idatalink RR module and CH-1 plug and play harness to retain your steering wheel buttons.

for your dash kit to fit a new radio you have 2 options. SINGLE DIN: Best Kits BKCDK644 DOUBLE DIN: Best Kits BKCDK642 Since you want a touch screen you need the double din kit

SPEAKERS: Doors and rear deck are 6x9s and dash are 3.5's. for the doors NO ADAPTERS ARE NEEDED and MOST 3.5's for the dash wont need mounting adapters either. But check on crutchfied for fit as the real nice chunky woofers dont fit. But Rockford Fosgate PUNCH, Infinity reference, Kenwood Excelon and Focal Integration will drop right in if you just cut the plastic "cup" the original speakers sit in.

you do have to pop the door panels off to get to the speakers and the dash speakers you have to take the A-pillar trim pieces off. rear deck the rear seat needs folded down and more C-pillar plastic trim popped off. theres better guides online then i can describe on a text post.

the best buy free installation probably doesnt include the smart harness required to swap out the factory radio
