Hi! I also have chronic pain/am disabled. I play Steam games with an Xbox One controller with the Windows 10 wireless adapter. (I tried the Steam Controller but it was bulky, not intuitive, and I basically hated it. lol. YMMV.)

I have my tower sitting in this cabinet, which I covered with this film to keep everything hidden. My husband cut out the back of the cabinet to install a fan / make room for the cables to come out of the back.

We used these cord covers to keep everything neat.

I use this wall-mounted swing arm from Amazon for my monitor. I push it toward the wall when I am done. (I put my chair/station in the corner for this to work.)

I sit in an IKEA Poang chair with ottoman, using this lower lumbar cushion and this coccyx cushion.

I use this mouse arm on the Poang chair, these cushions for my elbows, and a beanbag rest for my wrist (for when I have to use the mouse).

My keyboard sits on a shelf beside me and I pull it onto a lap desk (stored under my chair) for when I need to use it.

I also have a wall mount for my Xbox One controller.

I hope that helps! It took me a long time to get something together that keeps my living room still looking like a living room. :)

I have a seat cushion from Purple in my car and I used to have one at my office too. They are expensive, $50-80 I think, but I think it's worth it. I can't even explain to you how much of a difference it makes for me. I used to have to fly long flights (>12hr) and it makes all the difference in the world.

I highly recommend the Royal (here on Amazon)

But I also have an Everywhere (also on Amazon)

u/hemipenis · 7 pointsr/tall

Get one of these for your knees. It'll make that position much more comfortable.

u/AntiquePork · 6 pointsr/Animemes

its too expensive why pay $40 for loli lewder 2018 when i can buy this for cheaper

u/naorlar · 5 pointsr/Showerthoughts

Get the royal purple cushion. It's pricy but worth every damn penny for all the comfy cloud like sitting I can do now.

Edit: you may be tempted to cheap out and get their 1" version - don't. 2" or bust. It makes all the difference.

u/much_milk · 3 pointsr/HelpMeFind

Hmm. Well I found them too, at Amazon, but you may think the same about the pattern.

Might it be that the batch your Grandmother bought were just offset slightly making them all the same? Is an option not to recover them all with these new covers to make the pattern match?

And a place to buy the fabric.

u/legolasmyeggolas · 3 pointsr/ikeahacks

I'm not sure what the fabric it comes with looks like, but I'd recommend using webbing like this. https://www.amazon.com/Houseables-Upholstery-Furniture-Modification-Alternative/dp/B00ZVHMSZC

u/-Tack · 3 pointsr/OverwatchUniversity

Yes I use those wheels and also a thick butt pad, helps since I'm short.

Both my sister and I have back issues. She drives A LOT and recommended this one I bought it for myself and it's great!! Very comfortable and provides good support. Hope this helps!

u/lolcatlady · 3 pointsr/BabyBumps

I did these as well, after I would workout, and they seemed to help the tailbone pain.

I also ordered a pillow like this: https://www.amazon.com/Comfortable-Orthopedic-Relieves-Sciatica-Included/dp/B06XZS1QDK/ref=sr_1_71?ie=UTF8&qid=1499231699&sr=8-71&keywords=coccyx+pillow

for long car rides or whenever I'd be sitting on a hard chair or for long periods of time.

u/tinydisaster · 3 pointsr/DIY

For what it's worth, I think that is a neat lookin stool and I'm happy you didn't wreck it permanently..

That said, it might not be hard to tie on a seat cushion.
http://www.amazon.com/Arlee-Micro-Fiber-Reversible-Chair/dp/B004NRP0IS

You could get an ugly one on craigslist and wrap it in an old painters canvas for a more fitting look.

u/DXRacer · 2 pointsr/dxracer

A King series should fit you the most comfortably.

All of our armrests have about the same amount of cushion, but there are some third party solutions on Amazon if you require extra cushion on top of what we already offer. Be aware that memory foam covers do generate additional heat.

u/pmunkyandpals · 2 pointsr/DesignMyRoom

I got [this cushion] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019JY2PVY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_PTNEDb6XTGVKV). It comes in a bunch of colors too

u/omgdracula · 1 pointr/bodyweightfitness

Buy yourself a purple brand chair cushion. They make a portable one with handles. I sit all day as a webdev and my ass would hurt but holy hell this thing has been amazing. Super comfy.

Also make sure you have a good chair too. Chairs are super important.

This is the one I got https://www.amazon.com/Purple-PSC-PTB-01-Seat-Cushion-Portable/dp/B01CKMP2Z8?th=1

Herman Miller I believe is the chair brand my friends office uses. Very comfy but they are expensive but the warranty is super good. https://www.hermanmiller.com/products/seating/

Thanks for all of your help finding those pillows - what a disappointment that we can't buy them in the US! The pillows were kiboshed in favor of a pending (and very unexpected!) deal from a local store.

If someone finds this post later, and you're looking for something in the US, these Kindermat Cushions seem like a good option for floor seating. In the UK, these Ezri Furnishing Cushions are a great find (thanks /u/flyingteatowel)

u/yakity_slacks · 1 pointr/Kayaking

On top of the moisture-wicking fabrics, I picked up a Purple seat cushion to help with that problem. It keeps me mostly above any moisture that gets into the seat, let's air circulate a bit more, and it's way more comfortable than the thin pads on most kayak seats.

u/TootsNYC · 1 pointr/TwoXChromosomes

I wish they still made those mesh-and-coil seat covers from the '50s, that allowed air to circulate all around you.

They also used to make them with just the seat part, which you could use at a desk. Might look a little odd, but people have pillows and stuff to ease compression, so it would be fine.

Oh, hey, wait--there are some seat cushions that might help, providing air flow around your bum, in the car and at a desk.

Here's a crapton of links:

Purple jiggly silicone w/ chambers

wire spring seat cushion--like the 1950s ones

Beaded (for the seat only--but there are full-seat versions as well)

silicone knobbies that leave plenty of space, and look like the kind of thing that's there to cushion your bones, etc.

cushion for coccyx support, but would have airflow capabilities.

more silicone knobs

and silicone knobs again--if you carried this into the classroom, people would just think you had a medical issue.

u/ampedupcivic · 1 pointr/battlestations

No problem. Here are the links to the Capita legs, the chair (for height reference), and some armrest cushions I got to make it more comfortable with added height.

I've had this chair for over 3 years now and it's been great. What I like about it is the suspended mesh instead of the usual padding for a butt cushion. Got some cushy armrests for it recently and it's even better.

this changes everything

sent you a PM with a link - I think that's it.

These look like they match.

u/MjrGrangerDanger · 1 pointr/MedicalGore

Basics of cushions, just in case you weren't familiar. The round 'donut' type cushions are for your genitals. When you sit on them naturally they hit your coccyx because they aren't meant to help there. You want a 'U' shaped cushion that's open to the back with enough thickness and firm foam to support the area.

I have three cushions right now.

This one is in my wheelchair on top of a normal wheelchair cushion. Otherwise I don't think I'd be able to sit in it! Picked it up April 2018. I initially picked it up to upholster a dining room chair I could use without a cushion but found it was easier have a second once I couldn't drive anymore. And I'm really glad I have an extra with the stupid wheelchair, LOL.

I've had this one in my car since April 2017. It's rock hard initally during cold weather but squishes down to nothing during hot weather if left out. My suggestion would be to just being it inside with you if you're not sure. My heated seats don't seem to make a difference, it has to be HOT.

I picked up this one for the dining room chair also but returned it too because it wasn't firm enough. Might as well be sitting on the seat.

One is a folding type from TJ Maxx, so I don't have a link, might be this one? It was in the travel section so maybe you'll get lucky and find one if you need it. I haven't tried it yet (it was $5) because I'm rolling around with lots of cushions now, lol... But it seems like it's going to be enough for good days.

If you feel like you need more thickness under your cushion I would suggest buying interlocking foam mat tiles and cutting one to shape. Stick an anti slip rug underlay between them so you don't get hurt, I like the IKEA one but you can get them lots of places.

The foam tiles (or a firm thick yoga mat) also work in a pinch when you need something NOW. You'll want to glue layers together first with something like e6000 and wait until it's cured to cut the mat or tile. Long term it needs memory or upholstery foam over it.

We've also done custom chair modifications to lengthen the amount of time I was able to work, so PM me if you need any info on other seating. It really sucks to have to work when you feel like you got the shit kicked out of your hind end.

Best of luck. :)

Thanks. I'm not finding much about sew stuff, nor have I ever sewed anything in my life lol, but I found these and they seem more effective maybe.

OK! My lower back pain was not gone but it was NOTICEABLY less. I didn't have to go home and support my back with a pile of pillows on the couch when I got home, I was perfectly comfortable standing while I chopped away and made yummy soup.

This is the one I got. Sorry I suck at formatting. I'm thinking about getting one for my car too. They aren't too expensive, or HEY! I could add it to my wishlist!

I would love a butt pillow. I have a recumbent exercise bike, and I love using it... when it's not hurting my butt. Having a sore derriere is quite the deterrent for me (ask my husband; ^that's ^an ^anal ^sex ^joke ).

Seriously, though, I could really use the seat cushion. I have snapping hip syndrome, and I need to exercise the muscles and tendons to reduce pain and popping. My hip gets inflamed sometimes and weight bearing activities become off limits, making the recumbent exercise bike my main source of exercise.

Thanks for the contest and Happy New Year!

Buttsy: when a person comes up with many excuses in order to shirk certain responsibilities. Example: "When I asked her to do her half of the project, she got all buttsy and gave me like twenty reasons why she couldn't." We've all known that person, haha. I'm a butt, he's a butt, she's a butt, we're all butts, hey! Also, oh my god, I'm confused as to what this is really supposed to do. It says it shapes. :/

I bring a cushion like this.

Also the Hilton features the finest tables made of some beat-up plywood with some plastic trim scraps, staples and a few splinters. So bring a mouse pad and wrist rest if your arms usually rub the edge of the table while gaming.

If you don't want to survive on pizza and burgers for 3 days, pack some fruit or granola bars or something.

The tournament finals on Friday will have free beer. It's all you can drink if you're friendly to the staff or round-robin between each bar.

During master pancake theater, the crowd will discreetly carry in maybe 300 gallons of hard liquor. It's usually great fun. Prepare as you see fit. Please don't scream like a banshee during the show though.
