I also got one a few months back and it really does help. Before I was using the crappiest alarm clock and always woke up to the insanely loud GAH GAH GAH chime.

I bought this one which is less than $30. Definitely not as high quality as the pricier ones but it works fine for me.

I finally know something on here!! It's a pistol for an alarm clock target/pistol game thing. It's this but this one is white: https://www.amazon.com/Laser-Target-Alarm-Clock-Screen/dp/B00563O8T0

Edit: Here it is in black: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B018766P7K

I got this to replace my DVR. It looks nice despite being pretty cheap.

In case anyone else is suffering like I am, I have a solution:

If you knock yourself out you will be in a haze all day, and hopefully by 8pm eastern you will regain full consciousness just in time for the draft.

How to knock yourself out

Alternatively, you can drink NyQuil and set a powerful alarm clock.

Yeah, the Sonic bomb alarm is a really good one, if you want a similar alarm that looks more discreet like a normal alarm clock, this is the version that I purchased for myself. I'm a super heavy sleeper though, and I've found that I can even sleep through that, so as a last resort, I would definitely recommend a Pavlok but again only as a last resort, it's kind of expensive and literally shocks you awake, but I find that it's really effective and quiet. I'm going to sound like a total shill here for a second, but their customer service is top notch as well, when mine started having issues, I reached out to their customer service to see if there was anything that I could do to fix it, and after walking me through a few unsuccessful attempts, they sent me a brand new one. I was really impressed.

Apparently I fudged up the link like a genius so here's one that works

This one is more like a bomb.

I had this problem so many times. I hated taking 8 AM classes and I had to do it several times over the years and it sucked every time. But I did learn of a few tricks that may help...

First, I'm assuming you have either an iPhone or Android phone, there are several apps that work really well for people like us. I personally have an Android phone so some of the apps I may have used, may not be available if you have an iPhone but I'll post links for both. Check out these links and try these apps. If one doesn't help, move on and try another.

I have the Philips Wake Up Light Plus but I paid much less for it - at Costco, I think?

Anyway, I love that it wakes me up gradually. I am usually wide awake about 4 minutes before the actual alarm goes off. Most mornings, I get out of bed and never hear the audible alarm.

u/battraman · 2 pointsr/videos

I own one and love it. My friend's daughter (she's 3) thinks it's the cat's pajamas and loves to stare at it.

They are $50 on Amazon for the full sized ones.

u/slothurknee · 2 pointsr/GetOutOfBed

You issues waking up sound a lot like issues I have (I have idiopathic hypersomnia). I suspect part of your issue is having to accommodate to such severe jet lag so often. When you do wake, are you very sleepy during the day? It may be beneficial to see a sleep specialist? You may need a sleep study. I know this doesn't help your immediate problems... but would be something to look into and strongly consider.

In the meantime, I have found that an alarm clock called Sonic Alert has helped me, combined with my phone alarm. Sonic alert has a vibrating disc that goes under my pillow and it is also VERY loud. It's designed for deaf people. I have my phone alarm set to go off every 5 minutes starting an hour or more before I need to get up, as well as the sonic alert.

I've also used an app called Kiwake. It's pretty nifty and did work some, although when I used it over a year ago it was somewhat buggy. Hopefully that is fixed now.

Good luck!

It's one of these. It's really a piece of junk, but it does look pretty cool.

u/DanTheFireman · 2 pointsr/funny
u/theaccountimusingnow · 2 pointsr/airsoft

I use this. To defuse you pull or cut one of 4 wires. 1 defuses one explodes 2 do nothing. I love it but a few of my friends have had it go off after all the enemies have been eliminated and they can get a bit salty.

I think it's just a bad photoshopping of the time 12:01. Came from an Amazon listing where another photo actually does show 12:01.

u/ghenne04 · 2 pointsr/GetOutOfBed

Get a dog.

Just kidding, but only slightly. I've always had trouble waking up in the morning, for years nothing seemed to work. Since I got a puppy a few months back, my alarm goes off and she doesn't leave me alone until I wake up, get out of bed, take her out to pee, and feed her breakfast.

But in your case, everyone else has it right - go to bed earlier (10pm), and no screens past that time. Or buy one of those alarm clocks that runs away and you have to chase it.

I've known that I had Seasonal Affect Disorder since I was in elementary school and every winter, the teachers would tell my mom that I wasn't the same person once the weather got colder. My mom did everything she could to help me, one year we even went to Disney World during February so I could avoid the cold weather. By the time I was 13, my parents were out shopping and bought me an alarm clock with a powerful light built in, and I used it to wake up around five in the morning, and from that point on I was a morning person.

I've decided to go back to school as well! I don't think I'll be able to till spring semester, but I wanna go back to physical therapy =) I screwed up pretty bad right out of high school on the college thing. I'm hoping I do a lot better now that I've grown up some... flabbergasted!

I ever so desperately need [this] (http://www.amazon.com/Gun-Target-Recordable-Alarm-Clock/dp/B004PHQBSE/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=26NERMJV5G0JB&coliid=I2XW4DUQH3WGHE) item because it being May, my school district made the second to last week all the way to June 3rd, all subject tests for the final quarter. I have already been having the heaviest of sleep every night for almost a week and I have no idea why, yet when I attempt to wake up I am more tired the the night prior I have to rely on my Ipod touch 2 than has more quiet speakers than a mouse. I need this so I stop trying to sleep in and miss my tests!!! Thank your for the contest!

u/Kikiface12 · 1 pointr/cordcutters

How about this one? White digits on black background, a nice angle so you can see the time, and it has 2 USB charging ports. It also lets you change the brightness of the numbers, which is pretty cool.

Another option is this one. I think this one's really nice looking too! Again, black with white digits, it looks like wood, it's got temp+time, voice control, and (optionally) turns the screen off when there's no sound in the room to save power.

Our sound bar has the time on it, so that's another option, I guess.. finding a sound bar that displays the time and hooking it in.

This is the tricked out version of the toaster I currently own and love. It's on sale at Amazon for $54 which is out of your price range I know, but it's a good deal: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B003TSTOXO/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1426513596&sr=8-2&keywords=KitchenAid+toaster&pi=AC_SY200_QL40

I think the classic black kit kat wall clock is an awesome kitchen decoration: http://www.amazon.com/Kit-Cat-Clock-BC01-Classic-Black/dp/B0019IBD3U

Thank you for the contest - if I win, I like to be surprised!

$20 clock that's low profile and is USB powered. I plug mine into the TV so when the tv's on clocks on.

That sounds good too. I've been thinking of getting something like this, which gradually gets lighter to wake you up.

u/TitaniaTeacup · 1 pointr/funny

I had to buy this to get me up in the morning. I believe its alarm has the highest possible decibel volume that can be heard without causing ear damage.

u/ilwolf · 1 pointr/AskReddit

I actually have an alarm that does both of these things.

There are less expensive versions as well, but this one allows you to use your own sounds if you get tired of the ones it has.

I got this one. <--- Link to Amazon

Anticlockwise clocks do exist.

They only really exist as a novelty. Clockwise is just conventional and therefore most widely used. Standardising the direction makes it easier to read at a glance.

u/Ninjajosh · 1 pointr/AskReddit

You need a backwards clock.

Fun clock with the ability to show who has any sense.
I've had people be able to read it normally and I've seen a girl start screaming when she saw it. Always fun to talk about though.

u/mmm_tacos · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

Saw a Sonic Alert was mentioned, I had the Sonic Alert SBD375ss and SB200ss, I didn't use the sound part of the alarm, just the vibrate portion of it. Both worked great for waking me up without making a bunch of noise. It's noticeable to anyone in the same bed.

SBD375ss wouldn't power on after two years. Tried swapping power adapters with a replacement, but no luck. Still have the SB200ss, but the original vibrating disc stopped working due to a short in the cable. So I just took the one from the SBD375ss. Amazon shows I bought the SB200ss 7 years ago.

Still have the alarm, but mainly just put lights on a timer as an alarm. I have the alarm and a cellphone as a backup. Sound was never really effective for me, unless it was really, really, loud. I seem to respond better to light and movement.

u/guy_from_the_mall · 1 pointr/techsupportmacgyver

Honestly, I've considered buying one. The first generation model is much cheaper though. The reviews are pretty shitty now that I'm looking though.

u/LowConclusion · 1 pointr/Fitness

I also go at 5am, used to wake up around 6:40 before that. I got one of those alarms that lights up before it goes off, since then I wake up ready to go everyday

I mix it with one of those puzzle alarms, put it at a level that's just difficult enough to make me think at that time of the morning. I don't really need that alarm though with the sunrise one

This is the one I have https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077D526S7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_Fnr0Ab0QZD8P4

u/InterdepartmentalYam · 1 pointr/ADHD

Honestly, what works for me is setting my alarm for about an hour before I need to get up. I intentionally give myself about 40 minutes to wake up, turn the radio to news, mentally go through what I need to accomplish that day, etc. My sunrise alarm (https://www.amazon.com/COULAX-Sunrise-Sunlight-Function-Sleepers/dp/B077D526S7/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1524413233&sr=8-7&keywords=light+alarm+clock) starts to light up an hour before I need to wake, the alarm function goes off 30 minutes before I need to get up, and my phone rings when I need to get up. It really works for me. Sometimes I feel lazy for giving myself that time, but it takes me a while to wake up and when I schedule it in and am able to take it, I feel better all day.

I have a clock just like this. I love it, and people always comment on it when they visit.

I'd recommend the Sweetheart Alarm. It's super girly, however, it has adjustable sound pitch and volume, and can turn it off completely if sound is useless. It flashes (although not remarkably) and has a vibration pad you put under your pillow. This thing is powerful so be careful, as it can get noisy if it hits anything hard. I've used it before and after I started losing my hearing, and I really like it. https://www.amazon.com/Sonic-Alert-SBH400ss-Sweetheart-Shaker/dp/B000LDNTT0?th=1&psc=1 Hope this helps!

ive heard that if the tip is orange then its fine since an orange tip indicates a replica or a fake gun to prevent you getting shot in the us at least.. I wanted to buy this and i'm having doubts that custom wouldn't like it A LOT xD

u/IsshunGa · 0 pointsr/shutupandtakemymoney

I found another, better deal for the same thing: $17.72 after shipping.
