We use these pads (http://www.amazon.com/Pack-Reusable-Washable-Housebreaking-Training/dp/B00BOVB4IG/ref=sr_1_5?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1420016402&sr=1-5&keywords=washable+pee+pads) for Bonnie, as well as the throw away kind for her bedding. She doesn't bunch it up very much, but the other ones are quite heavier and your kitty might not bunch them up so bad. I know they sell less expensive travel/crate ones that might be worth a try!

Lol. (Not an endorsement for this particular product.)

Could be a cat or small dog dish that sits in an elevated feeder, like this: http://g-ec2.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/pets/aplusdiy/B004BUFY8I/bergan-elevated-dog-feeder-1._V399929250_.jpg

I'd suggest using a semi deep, heavy ceramic bowl with no lip for them to hold on to. Mine has a little metal bowl that he loves to toss along with his food. He used to do that with his water dish too, which was similar to his food dish until I got him this. He hasn't tipped it over since. He's also a 2lb bunny, so if Archie is bigger than that, you might want a bigger bowl.

They have No Spill Water Bowls also on Amazon.

That may help minimally. However if it's your dog that's dropping a mouthful of water it may not help as much.

u/DarkQueen83 · 3 pointsr/Rabbits

They have it on Amazon :D

u/[deleted] · 2 pointsr/whatisthisthing

youre correct its part of a ceramic dog bowl. specifically this one produced by mason cash: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mason-Cash-Original-Cane-Lettered/dp/B00393UDTI

u/bluesbird · 2 pointsr/ferrets

I use these. Super easy to remove for cleaning and if they dig in the water, you can just raise it higher on the bars.

Congrats on the gift & thanks for sharing! How generous! =)

First, on every hike: nature calls, and there's not always a potty. Usually just a rock or a tree. With these tissues, you can avoid "eco guilt".

& always have a hankie or kleenex. Cos you need them. No need to link that. You have them.

If you have pets & you bring them with you, a portable water bowl is an absolute.

Merrel Hiking Shoe/Boot. Your shoe or boot is your preference & depends on the trail, but you will ALWAYS need to replace them every year, at least, if you hike often. The group I hike with favors Merrels. I linked the Amazon Merrel store cos I'm not sure of your trail conditions, climate, shoe/boot preference etc. A good hiking shoe is always at the top of my list when it comes to gear.

Rope. Cos once when we were hiking my dogs missed the trail and jumped down a steep cliff. We had to rescue them. A rope sure would have come in handy!

Honestly, I prefer to carry a back pack with my things and really don't like the camelpaks. They're a pain in the ass to keep clean. I love my reusable wide-mouthed BPA-free water bottle. There's 2 sizes. They're perfect. I use the small one all the time, but the bigger one might be handy for longer hikes.

Most trails have clean water sources, but if not you may want a water bottle with built-in filtration such as Seychelle.

Happy caching & hiking! I love hiking! It's one of my favorite things!
Here's some pics of my favorite hike earlier this year.

We have that exact kind of pack. They do make cloth collapsible bowls that will fit in the zippered compartment. I got mine at a local petstore called PetLife but Amazon also sells them

This one is really similar to the one we have http://www.amazon.com/Folding-Collapsible-Travel-Water-Army-Green/dp/B006UVSJN8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1420486294&sr=8-4&keywords=collapsable+dog+bowls

Our puppy did this and we couldn't train it out of her and she wasn't growing out of it, so we bought a different water bowl. They have ones that curve inwards for breeds with long ears so the they don't dip into the water, but it also has the added benefit of being difficult to spill water out of.

They look like this or this!

u/Dawgsquad00 · 2 pointsr/aww

Buying one of these will solve that problem (the wet ears, I can't you with that weapons grade cuteness)

I use these they work great and come in different sizes.

This food bowl for Almond. That way she wont spill her food FREAKING EVERYWHERE.

Almond because she's cute.

u/vyndree · 2 pointsr/puppy101

I use this with my standard poodles (it's not spill PROOF, but what does spill is super duper minimal) after I figured out that it also had the added benefit of being a small enough drinking area that it didn't allow their ears to get sopping wet. It also has the benefit of holding a pretty significant amount of water, and the actual water available in the spill-resistant cup is shallow, so it helps discourage large gulping.

I also have camel-dogs who will chug a water bowl until empty. These are the only things that seemed to help. It gets better when they realize that water isn't a limited resource, and makes you wonder what caused it.

In my case, my one camel-drinker dog who treated water like a precious thing to be hoarded taught all of my other dogs her behavior. >.< I now have dogs who have never met camel-drinker dog but still exhibit overexcited behavior at the water bowl learned from my older dogs. I find that super interesting that dogs teach each other behavior that doesn't even come from their own experience.

u/nonetoobright · 2 pointsr/Hedgehog

I have a few of the below bowls in the small size and definitely recommend them. They're $3 and have a lower lip on one side so my hedgie can easily access the goods

u/gavindec95 · 2 pointsr/ferrets

These bowls have saved me a lot of cleaning up. They still shovel the food and water out onto the floor, but not as bad as tipping them

u/farijuana · 1 pointr/Hedgehog

i personally have these for daphne but i dont think shes ever tried to tip her bowls. something like this might be harder for her to get her little snoot under to flip

i also found these and im squealing with how cute they are. i think i need them lol

u/capt_pantsless · 1 pointr/Bulldogs

For walking, get a harness. Bulldogs don't have much for a neck and collars can slip-off easily.

Also, get yourself a portable dog bowl - (I like this one ) and bring a small water-bottle on walks.

u/sydbobyd · 1 pointr/Dogtraining

My ACD mix likes to do the same thing. A no-spill bowl works pretty well for us. It doesn't spill if you knock it over, she'd have to somehow work the top off. Might be worth a shot.

u/imnotminkus · 1 pointr/Cleveland

> They won't even be able to drink if their water is frozen.

There are heated water bowls that keep the water liquid.

Doesn't mean that she has one, though.

u/yougotpurdyhair · 1 pointr/Pets

Using something like a squirt bottle, all you are doing is training her not to scratch the carpet in your presence. Once you go to bed or leave the apartment, she'll be back at it. That's why I'd put something heavy (furniture, potted plant, heavy floor lamp, another scratching post) on top of the areas you don't want her to dig at any further so that they're inaccessible to her.

Does she actually use the other scratching posts? Cats can sometimes be picky
bout the position and material (mine ignores cardboard scratchers but loves this type) so there maybe something more satisfying to her about the carpet than the other scratching posts.

What kind of stuff is she putting in her food bowl? It's normal cat behavior for them to put toys in their food bowl or even "drown" their toys in their water bowl. It's a harmless quirk of cat nature.

Stay with the heavier food bowl and get a good heavy water bowl (like this) Get a silicone food mat with a high lip on it so even if she does spill food or water it's an easy clean up.

Hopefully that helps with your issues!

I'm with ya. I had to get the less aesthetic more sturdy one though. My dog figured out how to screw even that one up.

Harder to flip over. Having the bowl in it's own stand like this may also help.

Take a look at this to make sure she's not a little big overweight and being picky. If you're hand feeding you might as well be training, so either teach her some things or practice cues.

It's worth trying treat dispensing toys, like treat balls, stuffed kongs or such to completely remove the need for bowls.

u/vgr1 · 1 pointr/Rabbits

What Heyoz said. My girlfriend’s bother uses a stand like this & this. Might not work if you have a giant rabbit and small dog :)

We love our Neater Feeder because our pup is a very sloppy eater... but my inlaws got this one for our tall guy.

u/SlightlySlizzed · 1 pointr/Bulldogs

I would suggest a an elevated doggie bowl like this one. It makes them eat slower and also they ingest less air once they are eating which means less farts. Baby wipes for folds and butts. Socialize with other dogs and people often, one of mine wasn't and is kind of dog aggressive; he's 7 now. No long hikes or walks especially on really hot days, they easily overheat and i've read plenty of times, even on this subreddit, of deaths.

We have a gulper and feed her using an interactive dog bowl where she has to hunt for her food/move around moving pieces to reveal the food. Definitely helps stretch out meal time - otherwise she'll down her meal in one gulp!

This is our 8 month old Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Winston!

He chews and chews and chews, but he's pretty good at keeping it to his toys (and the occasional stray sock)

His favourites (and those that haven't given up after about 5 minutes are the Kong ball, Kong classic, Kong squeezze, elk antlers and finally Nylabones (I tend to buy one size up to avoid him tearing through them...

He is a surprisingly strong chewer and has destroyed just about everything else we've presented to him within minutes, sometimes within seconds!

There are 3 pitbulls around my place and I find they have LOTS of energy...I would suggest that you invest in some "agility equipment" to work the mind and the body! We bought some cheap shower tension rods to use as jumping obstacles in the hallway, a play tunnel from IKEA - although it may be too small for a pit...and this summer, we will make some weave poles out of PVC pipes and stuff.

A travel bowl or this Nylabone dinosaur would be awesome for Winston! :D

Thanks so much for the contest and congrats on the new pup! Enjoy him and snuggle him and love him! Dogs are the best! :D
