I assume by your use of the term "nappy" you are from somewhere outside the US. Would you mind sharing where you can source scented nappy/diaper bags for cheaper?

This hypothesis doesn't quite hold true here in the US. Doggie bags are cheaper here; to the extreme that when my daughter was still in diapers, we kept one of the doggie bag clips with a roll on the diaper bag.

For just a quick example...

Munchkin Arm & Hammer Diaper Bag costs $7.79 US for 72 (0.108 each).

Earth Rated® Lavender-Scented Dog Waste Bags with Handles costs $6.99 US for 120 (0.058 each).

Or if you're okay with unscented, 220 for $7.99, or 0.036 each, or 700 for $14.99, or 0.021 each.

You can also buy a pouch/container you can hang on your belt or the leash to hold full bags. Keeps you from holding and smelling it and you don't have to tie it to the dogs collar. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075FT2QSC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_iLW3BbAPBCE9V

Might I interest you in a better option?

These bags are biodegradable and you can leave them attached to your leash. Never forget a bag or find a finger sized hole.

If you have a pet supply store nearby get a poop scooper for the yard! it's been a life saver here! A spade works better than a rake in my opinion:

Depending on the size of the doodles you'll need a bigger poop catcher!

I wonder if those are the types to buy this or this

My dog shits like 5 times on a walk, and sometimes he gets spooked when a shit hangs onto his fur and he takes off like a maniac. That's why I carry one roll of these at all times.

u/jms18 · 3 pointsr/dogs

I buy these in bulk -- Amazon link.

My dogs tend to poop 4-5 times a day each (they love their poopin'!), and one is a poop eater, so I have to keep the yard clean if I don't want to deal with poop-breath.

It might seem nasty to get that close to the poop, but I also have a 1 year old. My life seems to revolve around shit. You quickly get over the "nasty" aspect of it.

There are already compostable bags on the market for much cheaper:

u/squash86 · 3 pointsr/dogs

I bought 700 of these for $15, and I have a little dispenser that hooks onto my leash for them. Then every time we walk, I pick it up, and drop it into my big city trash can.

u/PromisedLand84 · 2 pointsr/dogs

I ended up buying a system like this. Then I'll dump it into a bucket w/ a trash bag.

Many others tried to answer you, but let me try too.

Q1) You see, the cows are either strays or left by small dairy farmers to graze openly during the day and they return at whatever time to ferry the cows back. You can't catch/blame them because it's never the same cow twice. Your dog on the other hand is under constant supervision of you/your family and you are always with him when he poops outside. There are special poop pickers for this very purpose, so you can scoop the shit and bag it without having to ever touch it.

2) DO NOT buy bags just for this purpose. Always try to bury the shit(by bury I mean that it should be deep enough that nobody can step in it, always cover it up after you bury it) in kacha land(soil) or if you've got a garden, bury it there. Win win. Or just flush it when you get back home if there isn't any tree/patch of soil/patch of unpaved land nearby. NEVER BUY BAGS FOR THE SHIT. Cancel the amazon order right now. Bio degradable or not bags should not be bought for a problem that can be solved otherwise.

Also, the kitchen waste thrown out is usually eaten by either the cows left by the farmers as previously stated or stray dogs. Atleast that's why my household throws it out and it's usually gone in less than an hour. This is infact a problem that I faced in Chandigarh, there are no stray cows there and hence you cannot throw organic waste outside and the smell it makes in the dustbin stinks the whole house up.

Garbage burnt outside is usually done by the safai karamcharis(atleast where I live) and since the past couple of years, situation in this regard has been improved (again, your city's situation may vary) as they now carry a cart with them and they scoop the garbage and take it with them.

If there is someone from your neighborhood burning his/her own garbage, please report them. Or atleast try to talk to them, if it's a communal problem(like the garbage collection is not being done) then work it as a community and if it's a private problem then tell them it's very irresponsible and why cant they just give their garbage to garbage collectors?

3) Almost all poop is biodegradable but at the same time they can result in more mosquitos and flies in the vicinity which can carry deadly diseases and you might not know this but mosquitoes have killed more people than one can imagine. We aren't discrimating against the doggo but we just want you to be more responsible and set an example in your area.

Don't forget, NO BAGS. Cancel your order immediately.

Edit: Poop scoop, they are of various lengths and sizes

I've bought the Earth Rated biodegradable bags before (just FYI, only the white ones are biodegradable, the green ones are not), but I found them to be a bit thin and flimsy, so I buy the Cycle Dog biodegradable bags now. They also make flushable poop bags

We've been using dog poop bags -- yes, still plastic, and yes, buying something, but still less bad than grocery store plastic bags, which we no longer need.

Oh ok. Yeah, we have 2 dogs and the neighboring lot is kind of a "neighborhood pooping ground" where no one picks anything up. Its pretty terrible. I usually clean up my yard once a week with a mini rake/dustpan like this.

u/cheesecake966 · 1 pointr/fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

Invest in one of these they're only $3 and these or if you're dog is really a pooper these.

u/wlerin · 1 pointr/news

They make bags for this exact purpose:
https://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Waste-Dispenser-Leash-Clip/dp/B07284NRTH/ (well, okay, they're for dogs, but it's basically the same)

if you could link it that would be awesome!

I think I found it

I absolutely love dogs, and am hoping to either be a vet tech or a dog trainer. I have two 6 and a half year old fur babies. This is Benjii and this is Nay. They are as amazing as they look :)

Link to a cute poop bag dispenser with bags that is cheap and adorable. Having poop bags saves you from carrying around awkward plastic grocery bags. If you have money and like to go for long walks, I would recommend investing in something like this that dispenses bags and holds the used bags until you get to a garbage can.

The Complete Healthy Dog Handboook is on my wishlist as well, great for dog owners to have!

OKAY my trick of the trade is for a rainy/bad weather day when playing outside is not an option. It's called the "Find it" game, and it helps relieve boredom and is just generally a lot of fun for everyone. Get some treats, this kind of cheese works really good but anything that can stick to different surfaces really, and shut your dog in the bathroom, or have somebody take it to another room. Tear up the treats and stick little pieces all around your house. Under end tables, on the wall behind a chair, in your shoe, on the side of the fridge, etc. Anywhere and everywhere you can think of! Remember how many pieces you stick so you don't forget any and they start stinking later. Now, let Lily out saying "GO FIND IT!" She should be smelling the cheese and going crazy trying to hunt for all her prizes. When she finds them tell her good girl. When there's only a few left she may need a little help. When there is no more, pet her and tell her shes a good girl. I tell my dogs "all done, no more" and give them a bone to chew on. They love this game, now whenever I say "find it" you automatically see their little noses start working and the game is on. Anyway, adapt the game however you like. Lunchmeat works well too.

Let me know if you decide to try this game and how it goes! Best of luck and congrats on your new fur baby. Oh, and "A Lily by any other name" Let me know if that was confusing or you have questions!

Here is 880 for a few cents cheaper: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002G23UMU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have a labrador and run through these about every 7-9 months. I wish they lasted me for life.
