I don't know if this would help anyone at all, but when you said 4 for $20 I thought I would share - they make soft foam type mats (so maybe the materials wouldn't work for your purposes) like this for kids play areas. A lot have like puzzle pieces on the inside (like letters, trucks) but not all do...or you could find a way to secure the inside pieces. Maybe not helpful at all, but figured I would share:

Son is 3y9months, daughter is 3months old. Went through this recently :)

We waited until I had more of a belly to start talking about the baby. (Figured little kids struggle to concepualize units of time past a few days anyways).

We got him a puzzle and around 7-8months started reading some books, 2.

When I was full-term my son really liked youtube videos about how to care for a baby. (Helped him see what babies do.)

After she was born we let him meet her at home. Aside from saying goodnight we've been careful not to force the relationship. We're careful never to blame "the baby" for not playing with him while she has needs. Now (3months along) he's so sweet with her and has come around to her nicely at his own pace :D

I am a Floridan. I have zero fucking clue tbh about it being flat or not. I remember looking up there and going along the river where it kind of splits the state.

But as for people believing it was flat, we usually will make puzzles and such flatter so it's easier to fit things in for kids.

It's just easier to remember it as flat rather than this weird line. If you asked me to draw Texas, I'd draw a triangle with a rectangle on top even tho that's not how it actually is. When I draw Florida, I kinda even out the curves.

It was terrible, the qualify of the pieces were bad, the print was bad, the pieces fit in multiple locations. All of that brown was essentially the same color with little variance. I couldn't even finish the border because it was impossible to tell if the two pieces that fit together really went together or if they just happened to fit. We ended up taking it back.

We have one and I love the colors.

This looks way better in person than it does on the box, even with the glare. Where did you find it? It's out of stock on Amazon. And photos are horrible to photograph. I try to do my photos in mid-day, but it's hard since I usually do them in the back room without much light. Very awesome work on a cool puzzle!
