https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CUQ10GY is $119. Amazon emails you a code and you go to adobe.com/redeem and apply it. Boom, 1 more year.

JOLLY GOOD FUN

+
Cutout.

I use this version of Pixelmator for all my photoshops, if anyone is interested.

u/intsbat · 6 pointsr/learnart

I personally love Draw A Box. As for digital art I suggest getting the wacom intous. Software wise I use clip pain studio pro.

u/ilovecomputers · 5 pointsr/programming

You have a wide choice of image editors on the mac that are much more affordable:

Pixelmator

Acorn

Iris

Seashore

u/ebazii · 5 pointsr/arttools

Definitely get him a wacom tablet, any will do. Wacoms website has all the software for any tablet you get, no matter how old or new. The wacom Intuos series is probably the best, even the older ones are great. A medium sized tablet is probably the best, or a large if your sons desk is big enough (Though he can just use it in his lap if he wants). They aren't horribly expensive but they are great quality, the cheaper tablets from other brands stop working and are generally unreliable. (the 30$ range)

amazon.com/dp/B079NWPZTG/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_ilqZBb55VQXMD
(if the link shows up, this should be a good one to get.)

It would be hard to spend 500 dollars on one tablet haha, but I would reccomend having some drawing software for him to use.

I love Paint tool SAI, it's great for line work, they don't have a physical copy however. You have to buy it off of the website (systemax.jp) for around 55 bucks (5400JPY) although you can only use it on Windows operating systems.

Photoshop is a great software for digital art, however it is extremely expensive, and Adobe wants to get people into paying yearly for it, which is dumb. You might as well pirate it if you really want it bad, which it's not really a necessity.

For software that is similar to photoshop, manga studio/clip studio paint is great. It's like a combination of paint tool sai and photoshop, and works on Mac and Windows.

I'm sure your son knows how digital software works and with tons of tutorials online he'll get the hang of it in no time.

amazon.com/dp/B01F70HHBC/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_MvqZBbGCS2PVV

(if this link shows up, this is clip studio paint EX, and is a good choice.)

The links I put in would be the easiest things to get for your son, and would be easy to give to him and he will be able to figure it out with the instructions and such, if he knows how to use computers/technology. (what kid doesn't at this point lol) I hope he has fun! c:

I have to wonder how many people using Sony Vegas actually paid for it...

Anyway, if you want something affordable get Sony Movie Studio Platinum. I picked it up on sale for about $45 on Amazon but it's not much more than that regular price. It's like a Vegas light and does everything I need.

u/nerdman01 · 3 pointsr/StarVStheForcesofEvil

I'd recommend using GIMP 2 for image editing (use the direct download). It supports Windows, Mac, and Linux, and is a damn robust piece of software for being free.

As for video editing, I'd recommend Lightworks, another piece of free software that is surprisingly comparable to proprietary software.

If you want to shell out money for photo editing, the obvious choice is Adobe Photoshop. For video editing, I use Pinnacle Studio Ultimate 21. It's an outdated version (The newest is 22), but 21 is at half the price point and comes with pretty much everything 22 does. The big thing for me is that it has motion tracking, which is a literal godsend for shitposts.

u/CoAff · 3 pointsr/youtube

Okay, Win Movie maker sucks big rocks and is useless. Look into getting a proper NLE like Vegas (you can get version 14 on sale at amazon right now: https://www.amazon.com/VEGAS-Movie-Studio-14-Platinum/dp/B01NBYOMJD/ref=sr_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1503437504&sr=8-13&keywords=VEGAS)
You can then crop the photos to the screen output. Render the video, upload and boom, no black bars.

u/mycomputerisapotato · 3 pointsr/wacom

The free software package is absolute trash. Its not even full versions but dumbed down "light" versions of software with missing functionality for tryout purposes. Its not worth the effort and I am speaking honestly from someone who likes free stuff. I would invest in sketchbook pro (30 dollars a year) in photoshop (10.99 a month photography plan) or clip studio paint ( formerly manga studio) for 24.99 here https://www.amazon.com/CLIP-STUDIO-PAINT-PRO-Download/dp/B01ESKIDZ6 All of these options are better than the crappy freeware "light" versions that wacom gives away.

u/akshay7394 · 2 pointsr/DigitalArt

Manga Studio was pretty cheap when I last took a look at it, and is entirely designed for people looking to draw/further their drawings and less so for standard image editing

Tbf, I've no idea where to get it or how much it is anymore though; all I found from a quick Google search was this amazon entry (which shows me a "currently available" message).

Ninja edit: looks like it;s also called Clip Studio 5 now, it's about 20 euros - http://www.mangastudio5.com | https://www.clipstudio.net/en.. I've no idea why, but it looks to be significantly more expensive on Amazon (over $100)

u/xtremeadvanture · 2 pointsr/Beginning_Photography

I definitely would recommend Adobe Lightroom https://amzn.to/2IbMBn5 for beginners. Once you are comfortable with Lightroom Photoshop is a much more powerful program.

u/AlTrash80 · 2 pointsr/wacom

Ive tried this and it works well enough, (certainly cheaper than buying a Wacom express key remote!). I've been wanting to try a Clip Studio Tabmate, (which is similar to a wiimote, but with more buttons and 'made' for this purpose). What would be great is if CSP for iOS added support for this sort of thing too.

u/cytryz · 2 pointsr/anime

First, this is super cool. I want to give as much as I can as this is something I would want and want for amazon. Honestly I just want anime to gain more popularity as a whole.

Well the anime strike channel is definitely a new addition, one that I was not aware of until now. I do love my amazon prime. This is a great addition. I see some I instantly recognized like Eromanga :D something airing now which is a pleasant surprise. I see one punch man and some other really good ones.

Though before I answer your question I would like to offer some advice to help make this more enjoyable for customers.

If you have both Sub and Dub available, they should be easily found. Like for example Parasyte

  • DUBBED https://www.amazon.com/The-Metamorphosis/dp/B0166I1972/ref=sr_1_1?s=instant-video&ie=UTF8&qid=1493358443&sr=1-1&keywords=parasyte

  • SUBBED https://www.amazon.com/The-Metamorphosis/dp/B01MS4VC2S/ref=sr_1_2?s=instant-video&ie=UTF8&qid=1493358443&sr=1-2&keywords=parasyte

I think having the dubbed up on the main page is good but I think having a link in the description that is easy to find that links you to the dubbed/subbed version of that episode would be wonderful, even a button. In the event they discover x show where It wasn't advertised there to be a dubbed. You want to appeal to all kinds of people and being able to find what you want fast is always good. Those that are new to anime may very much be put off by subtitles, I know many are. So maybe they saw this cool show that caught their eye because of the cover but it is subbed, if one were to have the Dubbed link in a noticeable spot, they are far more likely to A find it and B watch it. A quality of life thing, something to make navigating better. (imo having the ability to change it in the "subs and audio" tab would be really convenient)

If you are getting these currently airing shows simulcasted, make sure to advertise that. That's a huge draw. IF you are paying for something, I think most people would be happy to know they are getting it as soon as possible, if not they'd consider something like crunchyroll where you know you are getting simulcasts.

Neat lil deals are always cool. https://www.amazon.com/ref_=dvm_us_kr_cs_AShqp/b?node=16341030011 this is a nice bonus, if you make it more noticeable and are more upfront about it, it'll be pretty enticing. Like I'd put it on my banner or when you click on the banner and it takes you here

If you want to make things fun try featuring really well received shows each day or week during anime month. One punch man is a great starter. If you can get access to shows like clannad or Death note, that'd be terrific. You want to show off really good content to hook people. Also have a show of the week, by this I mean one of the ones that were currently airing. Though Ultimately what you want is to expand what you have and what shows you can get the license for that are currently airing. Having all of the latest shows is probably the biggest appeal you can have. Unfortunately you have to have amazon prime (100 a year) on top of the 60$ a year subscription, but I know they have to be able to make their money. So what one might do is like a monthly free digital item. Like a season of a show or perhaps some kind of game or something. Similar to what Sony does with PS Plus or if not that then those that have the Anime Strike sub get discounts on anime related goods. That'd be pretty nice. I know amazon offers free apps, so maybe free anime app of the day or the week.

If this is anime month then you want to be able to reach out with lots of different things. What is something many people enjoy? The songs like the OP/ED of an anime or even the OST of animes. If you make those available to buy or easily found through prime music that'd be cool. Same could be said about the manga, figures, cool collectibles and other stuff. Getting hold of exclusive content could be appealing or maybe even a signed copy of a series or book from an author. That'd be amazing.

Amazon has x-ray for a their videos, having x-ray for anime would be pretty amazing. You could do trivia and all that jazz.

If you want to make it fun maybe consider a lucky give-a-way if that is in your power. One give-a-way a day and 3 semi big ones a week to one grand winner at the end of the month.

In addition you could have recommended games by the staff of Anime Strike (personally would suggest looking up Rabi Ribi) to help find cool anime games out there. Throwing a discount on games you can sell helps to. 5% 10% 15%

I think there are a lot of angles one could approach this if you start looking at things outside of simply videos. You can bring attention to different products that customers might not have known about likehttps://www.amazon.com/Smith-Micro-Software-Inc-CLSP1HDVD/dp/B01F70HGA4/ref=sr_1_1?s=instant-video&ie=UTF8&qid=1493412991&sr=8-1&keywords=clip+studio+paint+pro 25$ on sale for prime members. Create your own anime art. The ex version allows you to go for animations if you are into that. Art is a huuuuuuuge part of anime. So you look at stuff like this.

now I'm not sure what you can and can't do. I have other ideas but this just to throw some out there.

Out of curiosity what do you do at Amazon/how did you come to work there?
u/Carcosa_on_Lake_Hali · 2 pointsr/DigitalPainting

Thank you. This is precisely the information I was looking for. I'll hold off on the GTS-191, then, I think.

Photoshop does seem like industry standard.
Not to be too demanding, at what point/for what purposes will things like Corel Painter Essentials or Clip Studio Paint Pro be useful?

Thanks again. I appreciate it.

u/boulderhead · 2 pointsr/photography
u/Luna_Sandwich · 2 pointsr/vegan

I'm trying to figure that out as well. (I want to do a vegan food and wine pairing theme) I subscribed to other YouTubers who focus on content creation so I can learn some tips and tricks. So far I purchased:

- Smartphone microphone $16

- Smartphone tripod $20

- Video editing software $100

Do you have any ideas for what you'd like to create?

u/SerpentDrago · 2 pointsr/computing

well first , does any other application crash on you ? is your system drivers fully uptodate ? have you tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling the application ?

I would start by reinstall of the application . and from what i can tell magix is a b rate video edit app anyways but i guess you have to work with what you have . The internet is filled with people having issues with this so called Pro video editing app . that most of us have never even heard of ... I mean all my years of IT are screaming at me that this is scam software made to be catchy and show up on a google search to unsuspected buyers ,

amazon reviews filled with comments like " Looks like Magix staff down voted this because anyone who has used the program extensively is aware of constant crash issues. I run a intel core i7 and shouldnt have these issues but do."

I've tried almost every iteration of Premiere Elements, and I honestly severely dislike the interface. Every single recent version has been plain sluggish on my system.

I can't speak for the PowerDirector, but Sony Movie Studio will do everything you'll need for a long, long time. And this is coming from somebody who uses Premiere Pro

u/FusioNdotexe · 1 pointr/ArtistLounge

I'm sure it could be used for other programs, idk about apple products though.

Edit: realized it's clip studio specific, but hopefully this'll put you on the trail of what you're looking for

I know this isn’t a screen/software solution, but if you use CSP t all one of these tabmates are pretty awesome:

Are you mad? Oh well, free stuff!
I would love if you could get me a Switch, but I have a feeling that might be a bit too out of your reach, so how about this:
https://www.amazon.com/Smith-Micro-Software-Moho-Animation/dp/B01K4RAGXE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478071021&sr=8-1&keywords=smith+micro+moho+12

$350

I would love for you to PM me how much you made!

u/Sean_Campbell · 1 pointr/pcmasterrace

That PSU is massive overkill. The Corsair RM750x at $99 would do just as good a job for $200 less.

Stick $25 of that into the CPU and switch in an i6700K for the higher base clock/ unlocked multiplier (sidebar, are you OC'ing?).

Two SSDs is overkill. A cheap 7200RPM data drive might be a better option for storage.

The accessories look solid.

Adobe Creative Cloud is on sale for $449/year instead of $599/year. I bought a few years extra and was able to apply all the codes and see the date extended correctly.

u/kabbage123 · 1 pointr/videography

PC is better in almost every way except for one thing: ProRes.

I get requests for ProRes exports all the time for intermediary edits. There are equivalents that are universal(DNxHR, which is Avid's intermediary file) but that requires a followup email with instructions on how to get the codec installed on their system. Clients don't like extra steps.

My solution is to have both. I have a Mac laptop and a PC desktop. I do most of my work on the PC and I use the mac for the occasional project and as my personal laptop.

Don't forget to save a few extra dollars for editing software. DaVinci resolve is really impressive and free, but if you want to do any pro work then you are likely going to need Premiere. You may be elgible for student pricing, which runs about $239 for a year subscription. I'm an educator so I personally always renew my subscription every black Friday, as it nearly doubles in a few weeks!

This is $70 on the Corel site, and I think it's usually more than that. I picked it up on a holiday sale... was my first video editor, and found it was pretty easy to learn. Haven't tried the overlay feature though.

This one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-Movie-Studio-13-Platinum/dp/B00HRQB216

To clairify - There is Movie Studio, Movie Studio Platinum, Movie Studio Platinum Suite.

Movie Studio is intended for very basic use, like family home videos, (II think it also has limited rendering options).

MS Platinum contains the basic version plus an advanced version more appropriate to making internet videos. It also lets you render in 1080p.

MS Platinum Suite contains the Platinum version plus tons of additional software. It has an audio recording program with plugins and tools. It has a software which lets you compose music. And I think it also has some kind of image editor. Furthermore it comes with a very large amount of royalty free resources like sound effects, music, images and fonts which you can use in monetized videos.

The suite version is the best value for money, but I recommend the platinum version. After trying suite 11, I found the extra content did not sustain any appeal.

For recording audio I recommend audacity. It's free and there are tons of tutorials you can find on Youtube and Google.

For editng images, I recommend Photoshop for the same reasons. I use photoshop 7, which is super old, and get by just fine.

For royalty free music, Youtube has a lot of good stuff and there are many websites you can see find as well.

And I don't have the talent/time to compose my own music.

There is nothing worde than buying new software and having noone to turn to to ask questions. Even the sales department for Sony Productions website failed to send me a response, let alone technical support.

u/iAmMitten1 · 1 pointr/letsplay

I use Photoshop to make my thumbnails, Final Cut Pro to do 99% of my editing, and Motion (basically Apple's version of After Effects) to do any "fancy" edits. This is not a very wallet friendly option though.

As for free/cheap software, there's the most basic editing software out there, Movie Maker. Sony Movie Studio isn't bad (from what i've read). It's like the little brother of Sony Vegas. Less expensive, less features, but you can still get a lot done with it. I've only played around with it for a few minutes, but Hitfilm 4 Express is free. I think it's more for people looking for a lot of effect-type things, but you'll be able to do basic edits that any other video editor could do. Lightworks is another option.

For thumbnails and art, i'll just copy/paste what I wrote for someone else a few days ago. If you're looking for sites to make thumbnails, there's Backgrounder and Pixlr. Backgrounder has some templates for thumbnails, channel art, Twitter art, and a few other things. They aren't crazy good or anything, but they will be better than nothing. Pixlr is sort of like an online version of Photoshop or Gimp. It's got some filters, masking options, layers, and some layer style options (things like stroke, drop shadow, and bevel). Considering the fact that it's free and online, Pixlr is a pretty good tool. If you're looking for free programs, as /u/StandardToast mentioned, Gimp is really good. I took an art class recently, and my professor said Gimp is pretty much Photopshop, just a few versions behind. Some of the tools that came with the most recent version of Photoshop won't be in Gimp, but you can still get a lot done with it. I know very little about Gimp, but I know less about Paint.NET. It's free, and can do some imagine manipulation.

u/WolfandPupGaming · 1 pointr/letsplay

After exploring various options, I've settled on Dxtory for recording. I've been using it for the last year, and I love it. I use Lagarith Lossless codec with it. I use Audacity for cleaning up the audio. For editing, I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13. (Apparently $45 for the physical disc on Amazon right now!) I have been meaning to check out DaVinci Resolve, which I've heard good things about, though I think it's a bit more than I need for my purposes.

Everything that you listed is legit, and as you can see, you're getting many of the same recommendations here. I think it's a good idea to be cautious, but it's not necessary to be quite so nervous about downloading software that has been consistently recommended. Aside from ensuring your software is legitimate, the most important aspect of downloading software is to make quite sure that you're downloading it from the proper source (thus why I linked directly to the software I discussed.)

Btw, I use the Yeti as well. It's a good mic, and doesn't need to be right in front of you to work well. I recommend playing with the settings and positioning.
