Boric acid is amazing for BV! I use these ones from Amazon as they’re cheaper and have more than the ones from target. Seriously give it a try they work so well!

Like someone else mentioned, I use these in combination with the VH Essentials Cranberry Probiotics

u/d8_thc · 15 pointsr/JoeRogan

Hey bud - just a heads up - checkout the difference between the Host Defense capsule lion's mane vs extract lion's mane. Unfortunately the capsules are only mycelium on grain, vs the extract - which has both fruiting body + mycelium. Most of the studies on lions mane have been done with fruiting body.

Something like this

u/smithmcmagnum · 10 pointsr/JoeRogan

I do notice a difference with Alpha Brain, but it's too expensive. I've used several kinds of "brain pills" and nootropics and individual brain supplements but honestly I've only noticed a difference with Alpha Brain.

Also, New Mood and ShroomTech Sport seem to work. However, for New Mood replacement, just get any calming or "mood support" blend with theanine and 5-htp.

https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Mood-Support-Veg-Capsules/dp/B000TD0PXU/

For ShroomTech sport, I've found a bottle of Now Foods cordyceps is much cheaper and works better.

https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Cordyceps-750-Veg-Capsules/dp/B0045X9VQC/

DigesTech can be replaced with Now Foods digestive enzymes for much cheaper, as well.

https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Super-Enzymes-180-Capsules/dp/B0013OXKHC/

A lot of the stuff on Onnit works, but nothing is a magic cure for anything. The most any of these will do is give you a slight edge in each area. But, I think that slight edge is worth it. However, on Onnit, it's just 3x as expensive as it needs to be. Do a bit of research and you can find a lot of the same stuff for cheaper.

I use probiotics just for general gut health (started when I was transitioning out of 8 years of being a vegetarian.) Instead of my usual ones (Olly), I found some on sale that were cranberry and probiotics specifically for vaginal health. I bought them because they were

  1. on sale

  2. I couldn't get over being able to buy vagina vitamins

  3. my vagina deserves to be spoiled

Anyway, I love them even more than my general probiotics, I try to take them dailyish and they are helpful for my gut biome and I definitely think they help keep my PH in check- I'll take an extra if anything is off down there and it gets back to normal pretty soon. I use these and I used to be able to find them on sale at Target but can't anymore.

u/Debonaire_Death · 6 pointsr/Nootropics

Be careful taking too much in combination. I got some pretty crazy polyuria when I combined Reishi and Black Hoof for too long.

Real Mushrooms makes a blend called the 5 Defenders. It might have what you want.

u/viviphilia · 5 pointsr/lgbt

That's all excellent advice which I forgot to mention earlier. Licorice root does indeed contain an anti-androgen.

I was lucky enough to have randomly gotten in the habit of chewing on licorice roots during puberty and, maybe it was luck or genetics, but I had very little masculinization.

Here's one example of which kind of root to get.

u/orlybg · 5 pointsr/Nootropics

Rhodiola, it's been working a little with mild depression. I just got this, guess they don't count as nootropics but still http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TD0PXU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/nothing_clever · 4 pointsr/mead

I understand that you lack a lot of space, so I'm just going to throw this out once. I make 5 gallon batches because it's the same amount of work as a 1 gallon batch, but you end up with a lot more mead. I can't imagine putting in all of the effort to make a batch and only getting one quart. That said....

Final sweetness and ABV are determined by both how much honey you add and what kind of yeast you use. Since the yeast is turning sugar from the honey into alcohol, if you only add enough honey to reach 5% ABV, it won't be possible to go over 5% since there isn't honey to ferment. Also each strain of yeast has a different alcohol tolerance, so if you add enough honey to reach 15% but use a yeast that has a tolerance of 10%, it will probably stop at 10% instead of reaching 15%. Since the yeast is consuming sugar, if you had two identical batches with enough sugar to reach 15%, and in one batch you used a yeast that could only reach 10% and in the other used a yeast that could reach 18%, the 10% yeast would be lower ABV and very sweet, the 18% yeast would be higher alcohol but much drier. So you need to both pick the correct yeast and have the correct amount of honey.

You can use bakers yeast (as in: it will convert sugar to alcohol) but in general this is a bad idea if you have access to brewers yeast. It's incredibly inconsistent. You might be able to reach 10% on one batch and 5% on the next. You could easily split a packet of champagne yeast across 20 quart sized mason jars. After all: a 5 gram packet is good enough for 5 gallons which is 20 times as much as a quart. Packets of yeast cost about a dollar, so you'd be compromising one of the most critical ingredients in mead to prevent spending $0.05 per batch. You can even re-use yeast if you are careful about it.

For the airlock, I know you said you are cheap but here are a few options of things to buy. You can throw something like this on top of a mason jar and it will work like an airlock. $10 for 6 isn't bad. Another option would be to drill holes in the tops of the lids, insert something like this and add a real airlock. Another option is to pick a vessel with a smaller neck and use a balloon with a hole poked in it. A final, much cheaper option, would be to punch a hole in the top and tape a piece of rubber over the hole tightly in a way that lets air out, but seals afterwards. I don't know how much I would trust that, though...

Without tools to measure alcohol content, at this scale, it is virtually impossible to figure out the alcohol content. You can make a rough guess, but that's all it will be. There's no way around this without buying a hydrometer, refractometer, or similar.

For the amount of honey to add, it very highly depends on what you want and what yeast you are using. Let's pretend you go with a champagne yeast. By volume,

  • 1 part honey to 4 parts water will give you about 12% ABV and dry (so, 0.8 cups honey with 3.2 cups water)

  • 1 part honey to 3 parts water will give you about 15% ABV and dry (so, 1 cup honey to 3 cups water)

  • 1 part honey to 2 parts water should get you around 18% ABV and sweet (so, 1 and 1/3 cup honey to 2 and 2/3 cup water)

The catch is, for reliable, repeatable results you absolutely should get some kind of yeast nutrient. Buy something like this and it will basically last you forever on a 1 quart scale. It's an essential ingredient for making good mead reliably. If you can't get your hands on that a substitute would be boiled bread yeast.
u/samus-aran · 3 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I second the use of Candida Support it is not strong enough to kill yeart but it weakens it so your body can control it. You should also use consentrated probiotic pills Probiotis each pill has 10 different bacteria from 3 different family's of bacteria. Acidophilus alone wont cut it. Finally Stop eating Kefir and Kombucha, at least for the time being. Both are SCOBY's , Symbiotic cultures of Bacteria and Yeast. Your pumping you system with more yeast. Finaly help your system expel the weakend yeast enzymes yeast make sticky biofilms to protect the colonies. These Enzymes will help break them down so the candida support and probiotics can do there jobs.

Is this the one you're talking about? https://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Curcumin-Complex-Enhanced-Absorption/dp/B00A39MPNI

It looks really good actually, it has black pepper in it to help with absorption. It also tells you exactly how much of the 500mg is made up of curcuminoids which is awesome, but I'm guessing a lot of supplements don't say tell you right? So it'd be really difficult to know.

FWIW I take Sports Research for all my other supplements like VitD & Omega 3's and I really like the company. Overall a fantastic brand with great quality stuff. Just never knew they had a curcumin capsule

u/shrillthrill · 3 pointsr/Supplements

That curcumin product doesn't say it's an extract. It just says "Turmeric curcumin". Are you sure it's legit? Doesn't look legit to me. I notice a lot of products do this misleading thing, since turmeric only contains 2-3% curcumin, they can technically still write curcumin on the label while increasing their profit margin.

What you really want (per the Examine.com entry) is a 95% curcumin extract + piperine.

For example:

Not sure if these links will work for you but these are what I use

Yeast Nutrient: https://amzn.com/B0064H0MVK

Yeast Energizer: https://amzn.com/B0064H0LUW

They work great for me, and my mead always ferments dry in less than a week by staggering. In fact I just hit a new record on my current 5 gallon batch SG 1.100 to 1.000 in 4 days.

u/equanimous_moss · 2 pointsr/Nootropics

I spent some time looking into this awhile back.

Mycelium is part of the mushroom. You would never have fruit bodies without mycelium and fruit bodies are basically just densely layered, laminated mycelium that have started to lose vitality as they move away from active growth and into spore production.

And of course, you can read the label and see that while Host Defense widely uses mycelium, they also include fruitbodies, even in their top product:

https://www.amazon.com/Host-Defense-MyCommunity-Capsules-Mushroom/dp/B002WJ1BZK/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1519140270&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=Host%2Bdefense&th=1

The Amazon reviews are super positive, it seems there are huge numbers of people that love the product - whatever the debate may be about fruit body vs mycelium. And you see their product line everywhere, it seems it is very popular with health food store buyers,

A third party immunology lab also tested their stuff, and the products tested very well:

http://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/Immune-Benefits-of-Mushroom-Mycelium-Cultured-Substrate-Confirmed-1002362606?op=1

Part of what this research showed is that the mycelium works.... and the rice cultured by the mycelium also works to support the immune system. Rice is often considered a healthy food on its own... and data suggests that mycelium transforms the rice into something even healthier.

This is actually a really cool gateway into understanding the complexity of mushroom organisms. Fruit bodies are great sources of nutrients and the mycelium itself contains many of the same compounds. But why would cultured rice have more immune benefit than plain rice? What is going on?

You have to think about how the organism actually works. Mushrooms are decomposers. They break down organic matter, absorb it and use that energy to grow. As mycelium grows in its environment, it is releasing digestive enzymes from the mycelium.

If you follow Stamets’ work (he creates Host Defense), he is really focused on these enzymes from the mycelium. There are a lot of new compounds found there that appear to be very powerful. His work with the Dept of Defense BioShield program focused on these types of extracts.

And, he’s on to this whole new exploration around mycelium extracts and bees. Washington State University has partnered with Stamets and his team and they are finding that mycelium extracts help reduce viruses in bees and keep them alive longer. They’re only using mycelium extracts, not fruit body!

https://youtu.be/Y_lqIUlON1s

https://news.wsu.edu/2015/02/17/video-can-mushrooms-save-the-honey-bee/

With Host Defense, you get product that is widely used and popular, tested to actually work for immune support and the people that make it have decades of experience and are pushing some really amazing research forward. If you look at the bigger picture, it’s a great choice.

I haven't tried it myself, but Double Wood Supplements sells it and they're an excellent vendor. I've tried their rhodiola rosea and alpha-gpc. Both worked great and their rhodiola rosea is the second best I've ever had (first being Super Rhodiola by Ceretropic). If you get their lion's mane on Amazon, I would wait until they restock instead of buying from the available seller. I believe the regular price is $18 and has prime shipping. The available seller is selling it for $40 and offers no prime shipping.

u/Mroc_a_bye_baby · 2 pointsr/TryingForABaby

Ok so I suffered from this exact problem ever since my husband and i stopped using condoms. It was awful- I was going to the doctor 1-2 times a month until finally they prescribed me an antibiotic to take after sex which worked wonders. However once we officially started baby making I didn't want to stay on the antibiotic and my OB told me forget the antibiotic and buy cranberry pills and take them daily. I sometimes will take an extra one when we have sex but otherwise I take them in the morning with vitamins and I've been antibiotic free for at least a year now and not a single UTI. It has to be the cranberry working because before it was literally clockwork- we would have sex and 24-48 hours later awful UTI.

These are what I use. Check out the reviews on them- a lot of comments @ people with UTI's using them and they work to keep them away.

ETA: I've been using cranberry pills daily for a year. Started trying to get pregnant 6 months ago and we've gotten pregnant twice (had a miscarriage in Jan & just found out pregnant now). So cranberry pills def don't seem to have any effect on ability to get pregnant.

u/cryospam · 2 pointsr/mead

Mead is VERY forgiving, far more so than beer or wine. As has been suggested, JAOM is a great "toss it in and walk away" recipe, but almost any recipe will work for a beginner, even if it's done a bit off.

Things to remember:

Don't use bleach to sanitize, it's fucking hard to get completely out, and can render a batch unusable. I prefer IO Star to Star San as it doesn't foam up when you scrub the shit out of stuff with it, and it's easier to completely rinse.

Mead needs separate nutrient, it is quite cheap on Amazon you should also add Energizer perodically (once every other day for the first week and once a week for the next month) to prevent things from getting stuck along the way. A good guide on how/when to add fruit and how to perform step feeding, which produces the tastiest results, can be found HERE.

Wine Tannin can help to make your flavors "pop" and come out more brightly, add around 3 grams to a 5 gallon batch in primary.

Also, don't let things ferment in too warm a space, the place I ferment in is a steady 69 degrees, if you let it go too warm, you might end up with weird alcohols getting created, and your brew providing a headache along with a buzz.

Lastly, if you've decide you're going to get into brewing, don't go the carboy/bucket route. For a little bit more money (like $40 more than everything else combined), you can get a MUCH better/easier and compact solution. A conical eliminates the need to rack from one container into another (has a bottom drain to suck out yeast cake) it has a side drain to bottle from (I plug this into my filter pump and bottle right from there) is MUCH more compact then separate bucket/carboy & racking canes, and is a lot easier to clean because the hole in the top is like 6 inches across, plenty big enough for a hand and a scrubby sponge as opposed to the tiny 2" opening in a carboy (which are a bitch to clean).

Also, the supplier in this link (highgravitybrew.com) doesn't charge for shipping for these conicals, it seems like everyone else who sells them does even though they're all drop shipped from the factory regardless from whom you get it.

Brother I know how frustrating it is.

When I decided to negatives a try, I didn't have the research studies in front of me so I couldn't remember exactly what the protocols were. I think most of them are using 4 or 5 seconds or so, but since I didn't know that, I started with 20+ second negatives.

I only did the negatives, and I started with 10 lbs total for both legs. I would pull the weight up with my arms and then do the negative with my legs.

In my situation, if I took a month or so off of any kind of quad activity - no running, no squats, no leg ext, no bicycling, etc. etc. - then the pain would pretty much go away. It was only when I tried to do those things that the pain came back.

So that's why I started with such a low weight. I went completely by the way I felt afterwards - later the same day and subsequent days. If I could do the negatives and feel mostly ok the next day, I could add a little weight and keep going (there would still be a little bit of pain but if it was improving or minor I would consider it progress.)

So I started with the 10 pounds, no concentric at all, 20 sec negatives (or longer), for one set of 10 reps to 20 reps. If I felt like my knees were handling it ok, I would add a pound or two and repeat. If they hurt a lot afterwards, I rested them until they felt better, then kept the weight the same and did the same or fewer reps each workout until I felt the pain was minor enough to add some weight or reps again.

Eventually I started adding a positive rep or two on each set. Same process for progress based on feel.

I basically focused on trying to make slow and steady improvement to get back to where I was. I had gotten so frustrated and desperate I decided to go as slow and easy as it would take.

So for what you're doing, I think the amount of weight and whether or not you go to failure, etc.etc. is up to you but keep in mind you're trying to progress back to pain free lifting. So if you're doing something that's making you hurt, back off. Lower the weight and sets and reps until you feel you're at the point that you can handle it without the pain recurring, then slowly coax your body back to healing and strength.

You might not have to go as drastic as I did but I just got sick and tired of it.

ALSO - I tried cissus powder, but the evidence really isn't there for connective tissue repair and it didn't help me at all. HOWEVER, curcumin has got some solid science as an anti-inflammatory and I do think it helped me a lot. I still take it every day. Here's the brand I take.

GOOD LUCK BROTHER I HOPE YOU GET BETTER

u/bloonan · 2 pointsr/Coachella

There are definitely some questionable (and contradictory) recommendations on here.

  1. EmergenC doesn't do anything once you are already feeling symptoms of a cold/flu. Vitamin C isn't going to hurt you, but it's not going 'cure' or eradicate whatever you've got.

  2. A lot of people are recommending sleep and lots of fluids (water). This is HUGE. I also recommend exercising. I always feel better after breaking a good sweat. Do what's right for you.

  3. (ZINC) I was getting sick before a big test I had spent months studying for last fall. My mom brought me these wellness supplements from Whole Foods. They are a little expensive (I think ~$30/bottle), but man did they work. Check the dosage recommendations on the back, but I think I maxed out at taking 12 of these a day. My roommate, in pharmacy school, tells me one of the main ingredients is zinc that starts to get rid of some of your symptoms. Increasing my zinc intake did make me nauseous in the morning, but it kept me alive during a crucial week of my life. Give it a try if you're desperate.

Concentrated cranberry pills help me with avoiding UTIs. One in the morning and one at night. http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Bounty-Cranberry-Vitamin-Softgels/dp/B002Y27JRE

u/brainjacked · 2 pointsr/Nootropics

Are you spraying properly? Fluid shouldn't drip from your nose and you shouldn't feel/taste it in the back of your throat. Getting consistent results with the sprays is hard and requires patience to let it absorb in each nostril, spray by spray. I ended up doing 4 sprays, 2-3 times a day, lazily and having no idea how much semax I was actually getting. I've used both Semax and NA-Semax sprays.

I eventually switched to NA-Semax-A subq injections. It's not hard and semax alleviates any needle anxiety after the first time. I respond well to NA-Semax-A at 800mcg. If you have a 100mcg spray, you would need 8 sprays to hit that level (and some won't be absorbed).

45 min before I play sports in the early evening, I take 2 sprays of NA-Semax, 1ml of Lion's Mane extract, 6mg ionic boron, 300mg Optimal Choline Complex and .5ml of ceretropic's caffeine/nalt. This stack improves my speed, strength, coordination and endurance to such a degree that it feels like cheating.

Wellness Formula is amazing, I highly recommend it. It’s got all the vitamins and minerals that you and others have mentioned, plus more. You can take it as a daily dose which honestly sounds like would be good for you at least during the winter, and then the back of the bottle recommends, I believe, tripling it if you start feeling another virus coming on. Maybe even amp up the dose if you are around a coworker or client you suspect to be sick, too.

I had this issue back when I used to teach in preschool so I totally know where you’re coming from, and hope this helps!!

I do something similar to mushrooms. I grind it and refill capsules. Works well!

u/scotty-fitzgerald · 2 pointsr/HaircareScience

Hi, I commented in the general thread about what worked for me. I had a huge hair loss problem and it brought me a lot of anxiety and stress because as a 23-24 year old female who used to have really thick, healthy hair it was disheartening. My hair is thankfully back to normal but it took a while to get it back to peak health. I actually got a haircut this weekend and the hairstylist commented on how healthy and full my hair is. When I told her that I worried about my hair thinning out and hair loss she said that what the last thing I should worry about. But little did she know what had been happening the last two years (I had never gone to that salon before).

I see that you are taking a lot of vitamins, I also take vitamins and have read quite a bit about it.

You are taking vitamin B & D which is really good, but you said you are also taking a multivitamin, and hair/skin/nails vitamin and also want to take Biotin. Just so you know, biotin is a form of vitamin B. You also already take vitamin B and I don’t know if you multivitamin has vitamin B. I am also pretty sure your hair/skin/nails vitamin has biotin or some form of vitamin B. Vitamin B is great for hair, but your body can only absorb/process so much of it.

I would recommend asking your doctor if you should really be taking all of those. I personally would say drop the vitamin B (unless you are taking it because you are vegan, know you are deficient due to a blood test, or it’s a specific kind that your doctor told you you needed). Also, a lot of the times those hair/skin/nails have “filler” ingredients so I would make sure you are getting a reputable kind or skip it all together and just take plain Biotin. You can get it at Whole Foods or amazon for pretty cheap.

In the AM I take: Biotin, vitamin C, vitamin D, ashwagandha, and two of these . In the PM I take: ashwagandha, a probiotic, and magnesium.

I need to check my pill cases but I’m pretty sure that’s it. Also, I learned from a nutritionist that sometimes some vitamins “interact” and if you take them at the same they might prevent one another from being absorbed. I can’t explain it well because I’m not a professional but if you are taking a lot of vitamins that’s something to look into.

Hope this helps!

u/hercules_rokefeller · 2 pointsr/schizophrenia

I’m sorry you are going through this and are without meds for so long. I did take lion’s mane briefly and while I felt like it didn’t do anything at the time in retrospect looking back it probably helped me with my symptoms and I think I am going to try taking it again.

I’m just now realizing my voices came back after I stopped taking lions mane. It was so gradual at the time that I did not recognize it.

Best of luck to you and I hope you can get through it until you can get an antipsychotic in January. I’d highly recommend lions mane as well.

Also they have 120 days supply of it on amazon for $19. A better deal than 180 days for $54 for the specific brand mentioned in the other post.

Yes! As long as I continue with the daily regiment, it's keeping the rash at bay. I did miss one day, or evening (can't remember exactly), and I noticed a few new bumps. The original rash was scattered across my entire side/front of my torso (I had it BAD). Now it's reduced to discolored skin, that should fade away with time!

I use agmantine as well and it works but it seems you build tolerance towards it as well so after finding that out i did some research and found these 2 products:

5mg piperine is good enough if taken around the same time, otherwise you need the piperine with the curcumin.

Here is an example of a good curcumin product:

https://www.amazon.com/Sports-Research-Turmeric-Curcuminoids-Bioperine/dp/B00A39MPNI

Here is an example of a bad one:
https://www.amazon.com/Turmeric-Bioperine-Available-Standardized-Curcuminoids/dp/B01DBTFO98/ref=pd_lpo_121_bs_t_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=5C3M27FH8KMBVD377DJZ

You can see in the second one, it only has 150mg of curcumin, while the vast majority is just turmeric. A lot of products will also put tuermeric in with curcumin in a proprietary blend. To be safe, you should make sure the only things labeled in the product are piperine and 95% curcmin extract from turmeric.

The only label I can see online is this one: https://www.amazon.com/Kava-King-Vanuatu-Blend/dp/B00A7ANUKU This is supposed to be their unflavoured product, which I assumed is the "pure" one. As per label it contains fillers. I cannot remember if I've tried the lateral root one and I cannot find any pics of the list of ingredients online. In any it's no longer available, apparently.

Hi! I have carpal tunnel as well and it affects my fingers and wrist when I grip. I take curcumin as a supplement and it keeps the inflammation and pain almost gone as long as I am consistently taking it. If I go 3-4 days without taking it then my pain immediately comes back. This is the one I am currently taking. It seriously makes me go from unable to grip anything without pain to 90% pain free.

Ever thought about a potentiator? Lemon is an easy one but Turmeric is a two-fold helper.

Turmeric with piperine (black pepper) to help lower your dose and it has a ton of anti-inflammatory properties. I used to have good results with the GAIA brand capsules. Unrelated to the kratom seller GAIA. There are cheaper versions but make sure it has the pepper. It can thin your blood if you have other health issues just FYI. I hope you find relief.

Hey! Currently on my last month. For facial moisturizer I use vanicream and for the rest of my body, I use whatever I have in the house. The main thing that does get dry is my face however. Just apply it every morning and every night and you should be good until you move up to a higher dose. Honestly any lotion will work for your face but try to get something that says light or lite because it won't leave your face so oily.

As far as other side effects, I haven't noticed too much joint pain(currently on 120mg per day). However your liver could take some damage, my first month my liver numbers were all really high, but i started taking milk thistle once a day and my numbers improved greatly, to the point where it was better than where I started.

For cleaning I would avoid anything made for oily skin because it will dry your skin out. Just get a normal cleanser. For now I just use water since my skin is getting better with just using the medicine.

I am quite positive that some nutrients are more biologically available due to the action of intestinal bacteria however I cant remember which ones. I think you should first define the weight your talking about. I think it this case you could have weight gain from fluid retention from swelling and inflammation, weight loss from fluid loss from diarrhea. you can have both going on at once. Weight loss as in the release or storage of lipids by fat cells can also be influenced by gut bacteria. Bacteria can interfere with the response to leptin causing weight gain. Now your question about disrupting. There are big issues with that. There are hundreds of different bacteria and yeast in your system some are beneficial some are pathogenic some others are beneficial until there are to many then they become pathogenic. Not to mention disrupting the bacteria with anti-biotics can lead to a Yeast imbalance as like candida are not bacteria but fungus. Yeast imbalances are also not simple to treat because yeast are more like animals then they are like bacteria anti-fungal agents are as toxic to people as they are to yeast. If you want to effect your gut balance with out doing something radical I suggest you try a month or two of something like http://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Candida-Veg-capsules-180-Count/dp/B000E7R3FY Candida support. Well, OCD can be related to anything, really. It also tends to "jump" topics...as mine did from contamination fears/thoughts. My OCD mainly revolved around ("I wonder if she ever did ".....) and it would be extremely pervasive until I asked "Did you do...." (which was the compulsion to alleviate the anxiety).

This then backfires because you keep asking more and more things and will really strain your relationship. I took an herbal supp for a while that helped to an extent...until I switched to the real stuff.

Also, factors such as SLEEP, diet, exercise, sunlight all can play a role in your outlook/thought process.

Wellness Formula - Take according to directions as soon as you start to feel a cold coming on. I usually skip 3 of 4 colds completely, and the ones I don't I get minimal symptoms. It can be complimented with Echinacea & Goldenseal, Colloidal Silver, and Oregano Oil for colds that just won't go away.

Why is this stuff so great? Medications treat the symptoms only. Wellness gives your immune system what it needs to work (what you should be getting from your diet, but most Americans aren't). Your immune system ends up defeating the cold almost immediately.

I took it today which would be my third day at a full dose. I had a physical test today that I have to do every now and then. It could be something else or placebo, but I came home and my girlfriend made a comment how I am usually hurting pretty bad. I am not hurting at all and was wondering why. Could be the turmeric; It's the only change that I've made with my supplements. I took one before and after.

The stuff I have works all angles of Turmeric so it does have some of the inflammation stuff in it too (which i think is more of the black pepper).

Late to this post, but I was like you and I was desperate to find an answer. Each time I'd go to the gynecologist, she'd say I had a yeast infection (although I never had itching or excessive discharge, but just painful sex and random burning). They'd give me diflucan, which would help for about 3 weeks, and then my symptoms would be back. After reading a post on some forum, last year, I started taking 3 acidopholus pearls a day, 1 garlic capsule, 1 cranberry extract pill and 2 pills of Candida Clear.

Things seemed to get better. Ultimately, I started to wean off of all of those and as I did, I figured out that what seemed to help me the best was the [Candida Clear] (http://www.amazon.com/Now-Foods-Candida-Veg-capsules-180-Count/dp/B000E7R3FY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405210138&sr=8-1&keywords=candida+clear)

I haven taken two of those capsules a day for a year and my symptoms are sooo much better. I was even prescribed Cipro as an antibiotic for a UTI (I get those all of the time, too, yay...) and the yeast did not come back. My gyno was surprised.

Well the subgroup analysis only looked at <500 mg/day and >500 mg/day and the benefits were definitely stronger in the >500 mg/day as per Table 3. You can see in Table 1 the various dosing's that were used. Many of them were 1,000 mg/day with 5 mg/day piperine but some were 1,500 mg without piperine. There are few products like that on the market, Doctor's Best is one.

Real Mushrooms 5 Defenders : Seems more for immune system from the reviews.

The one i linked has some reviews where they are adding cocoa powder and less mushroom. I don't mind taking a blend for over all health benefits and another from ND for something specific.

I utilize mushroom powders in soups, sauces, gravies and dry rubs for steaks and meats. One of my favorite ways to use porcini mushroom powder is to make homemade or frozen French fries, dribble them with truffle-infused oil, sprinkle sea salt and porcini mushroom powder and grated sharp white cheddar on top. Hey, Sound_rage:

Firs of all, I'm sure that your trigger sounds extend to many beyond people. Is it anything repetitive or annoying that gets you? For me personally, I know that it's ANY piercing, stochastic noise.

Anti-anxiety medicine hasn't done much for me. I've tried a bit of gabapentin for restless legs syndrome, which also kind of helps if I'm triggered at night, but Valium or Ativan didn't do too much for me in a particularly triggering setting (3+ hour meetings with no option to leave with Mach 5 snifflers).

I'd suggest earmuffs over headphones in the short-term: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DFAK64G/ref=sr_ph_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1481220598&sr=sr-1&keywords=earmuffs These are AMAZING, and I didn't study in a public place really ever before I found them.

Also, I'd maybe suggest giving kava kava (a pacific root-based anxiolytic) a try. It is a little hard to get into because it tastes terrible and is very difficult to dose, but I'd really recommend putting in the time to give it a shot if you're also generally anxious. It lets you study at the same time because it doesn't really dull the mind too much - how great! Here's a good starter brand: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00A7ANUKU/ref=sr_ph_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1481220924&sr=sr-1&keywords=kava

And best of luck!!!!!

We use this, I take it too! First we made sure they were okay with it by just adding a weight-appropriate amount to their food once a day, then twice a day (the recommended amount is for a 150lb person so we just did 1/5th a capsule for 30lb dog). We do our own raw and I do a veggie mix with leafy greens, carrots, beets, pumpkin/sweet potato, yogurt, raw honey, seasonal herbal and seaweed mixes (prepared by our local raw feeding co-op), some fruit, ginger, and red palm oil, so once I knew they were okay with it I just ground up a month's worth of turmeric capsules for two dogs with a month's worth of the veggie mix and added it to the meat grind.

Oh, and FWIW, we also tried switching to a "cooling" protein (traditional chinese medicine thing), since we had been feeding chicken before, and I am not sure that made a difference, other than being a pain in the ass to grind (duck has a TON more fat and it kept clogging the grinder).

When and how should I take these? I just ordered Lions Mane. I have Lithium Orotate which I plan to take twice a day. Then there's the Bacopa. Should I take the Lithium, Bacopa, and Lions Mane all at the same time in the morning? I want to fit NAC in there too somehow, if it's not redundant.

I suffer from depression and after having to quit my job AND losing my insurance I haven't been able to afford my medication. So, I've been looking into natural remedies to help lift my mood. I've noticed since being without my medication that I lose my patience very quickly, I get frustrated very easily and my husband and I fight a lot. I have little desire to get out into the world and enjoy things I once did. I'm sort of living as a hermit. I want to go back to the happy go lucky mother and wife I know I can be.

I would love to try these. These seem to be pretty highly rated and it couldn't hurt to try them.

To add to what Mike said for sure check out /r/mead! There's a ton of good information in the side bar to get your started. The biggest thing besides good sanitation & quality honey/yeast is temperature control. Don't let it ferment in a hot garage or you'll end up with something akin to rocket fuel. To keep things simple at first you can just put it in a cool, dark closet and that will help your mead taste EXPONENTIALLY better if kept relatively cool (60-70 degrees)

Also another simple, yet effective thing is using nutrients. People get crazy nutrient addition schedules but just tossing the recommended amounts in at the start will make for a cleaner fermentation and a better tasting mead. Here's a link to some good stuff I like to use. Energizer And Nutrient

If you have a local homebrew shop they should have everything you need to get started.
