LPT: you can tighten it up even more. All you really need is the dp (stands for detail page) and the ASIN (Amazon stock ID).

In that case, I'm about to blow your mind!

I bought it recently and I'm happy to have ketchup back. It has the exact same taste, there's such a small difference in mouth feel (a little but noticeably runnier/more watery), and you can have plenty of it for not many calories.

If you want you can order it from Amazon. They sell it cheaper than the Whataburger store.

Is this a good recipe for curry ketchup?
A German restaurant I used to go to had this sauce: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074R7C7YZ/

And I would love to have a recipe for something similar. I tried looking it up but there’s hundreds of different recipes.

u/larz27 · 4 pointsr/fitmeals

Halo Top ice cream, Heinz fake sugar Ketchup (It's a bit more sour than full sugar ketchup which I think compliments foods a bit better), and the best tasting BBQ I've ever had is Char boys BBQ and it's low sugar (hard to find though).

If you're a juice person, I used to enjoy that Trop50 stuff.

Great suggestion and I added it to my comment. FYI, you can order Whataburger condiments online: https://www.amazon.com/Whataburger-Condiments-Pack-Spicy-Ketchup/dp/B00CUFR7EK/

I replaced the Bisquick with:

 1/2 cup Almond Flour
 1.5 tsp Baking Soda
 Pinch of Salt

And the 1 cup of milk with Almond Milk

Also, this ketchup tastes amazing.

It didn't come out perfect, but it was good enough.

u/jrainr · 3 pointsr/ketorecipes

Or you could use Reduced Sugar Ketchup like I do.

u/Thetek9 · 3 pointsr/ketorecipes

I've tried some store bought low carb barbecue sauces, and they're almost always disgusting. I've been looking for an alternative that I can use on ribs, pork shoulder, chicken, etc. so I decided to just make my own. Most of the carbs come from the reduced sugar ketchup. It's possible to make our own ketchup without sugar and get the carbs to about half of that so its around 3.5g carbs, which I may try next time.

BBQ Sauce
2 Cups Reduced Sugar Ketchup - 32g Carbs
1/2 Cup Low Sodium Chicken Broth - 1g Carb
1/2 Cup Water
1/2 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar - 1g Carb
4 Tablespoons Splenda Brown Sugar - 16g Carbs
6 Tablespoons Granulated Splenda - 2g Carb
1/2 Tablespoon Freshly Ground Pepper
1/2 Tablespoon Onion Powder
1/2 Tablespoon Ground Mustard
1 Tablespoon Lemon Juice - 2g Carbs
1 Tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce - 3g Carbs
1 Tablespoon Tabasco Sauce (Optional) - 5g Carbs
1 Teaspoon Ghost Pepper Flakes (Optional)

Total - 12 Ounces / 56g Impact Carbs / 61g Impact Carbs with Tabasco
Serving Size - 1 Ounce / 4.7g Impact Carbs / 5g Impact Carbs with Tabasco

Step 1:
Take out your drumsticks, pat them dry with paper towels, then liberally salt with Kosher salt and place back in the refrigerator.

Step 2:
Mix all barbecue sauce ingredients in a sauce pot. Bring to a boil, once boiling reduce to a simmer and cook for an hour, stirring frequently. We want to reduce it until its thicker like most barbecue sauces. After about an hour, bottle your sauce and place in the refrigerator.

Step 3:
Set your grill to about 350-400. For my Weber Spirit E-310, I had one burner off and two burners on low. If you don't already, invest in a decent digital thermometer so you can set one at the grill grates to read temperature. It will easily pay for itself in terms of less ruined food. Pull your chicken out of the refrigerator while the grill comes to temp.

Step 4:
Season your drumsticks, I used a combination of garlic powder, pepper and cayenne pepper. Do not cover your drumsticks with bbq sauce yet, we will do that at the end of our grilling.

Step 5:
Once your grill is at temperature, put your drumsticks on. Grill the drumsticks for about 20 minutes, flipping occassionaly. Check the internal temperature with a thermometer often.

Step 6:
Once the drumsticks reach 165°, coat them with barbecue sauce. Now turn up the heat to medium high, cook for a couple minutes until they reach 185-190° and pull them. Let the chicken rest for 5-10 minutes and serve.

The suggested serving size is what other barbecue sauces use. I think, realistically, you will end up using more than that depending on the size and quantity of drumsticks you consume. But some of the sugars will end up burning off during the grilling.

We went to Australia on our honeymoon and loved, loved it. One thing I missed and maybe you could use more of or I'm just being an American about is Heinz Ketchup. We tried lots of good food but the ketchup just never tasted right.

For Me? Candy. I miss the chocolates, anything is fine. If you do however still have those Hazelnut Snickers, I would love some of those.

Thanks!

u/tunaman808 · 2 pointsr/AskAnAmerican

Well, the sauce originated in China, then fanned out to the rest of Asia. Some sources say that the British found ketsaip in China (which became "catsup") and the Dutch found kecap in Malaysia (which became "ketchup"). Others say that different Brits found kôe-chiap and kê-chiap in China, and that's how we ended up with two different words for the same thing.

And, of course, original ketchup was more like fish sauce than the tomato-based sauce we know today. Hell, mushroom ketchup was way more popular in Britain than tomato ketchup for a long time.

As to the "ketchup vs. catsup" thing, in the early days of the Reagan Administration, Secretary of Agriculture John R. Block proposed reclassifying ketchup from a “condiment” to a “vegetable” to allow schools to meet federal nutrition requirements on the cheap. The rule never went into effect, but because the proposed rule specified "ketchup", many "catsup" producers (including Del Monte, the largest "catsup" manufacturer at the time) changed the product name to "ketchup", so as not to be left out of the new bureaucratic rules.

u/colbinator · 2 pointsr/vegetarian

Oh my, that looks tasty. Found it on Amazon for the USians though not cheaply.

u/Carensza · 2 pointsr/EatCheapAndHealthy

My daughter is highly allergic to tomatoes and tomato products and one thing we found when trying to find substitutes was the link between arthritic pain and nightshade vegetables (tomatoes/potatoes/eggplant etc). Considering we used tomatoes in about 5 meals a week it was a huge change for our family but after five years we've become an old hand at substitution. Here is a list of some good recipes and altho you can make similar yourself the Foraging Fox is the best tasting ketchup I've ever had, including all the tomato ketchups.

Agreed as far as regular ketchup goes. I have a hardcore conservative buddy who refuses to purchase anything Heinz due to some political thing or something. He always has Hunts. Needless to say he no longer has BBQ hosting privileges.

If you ever get a hankering for something a little different as far as ketchup goes, give Portland Ketchup a try. VERY good stuff.

Why no veggies? Those are my favorite part of a roast.

I don't have a recipe, but I do have a couple tips to help avoid the gluten. Pretty much what you're getting from the Worcestershire sauce is umami (savory) and saltines. You can replace it with other sources of umami, such as soy sauce (be careful of gluten in them too, I believe tamari does not have it), Accent (MSG), fish sauce, or mushrooms.

One of my favorite Worcestershire replacements is mushroom ketchup, but it'll take a day or so to make. You can find it on Amazon, but I don't know how good it is. (video, recipe)

I had banana ketchup in St. Lucia. Apparently they produce so many bananas they have to find alternative uses for them. The company that sells it there is called Baron

u/just_some_Fred · 1 pointr/nfl

This is why Oregon is better than California, at least our expensive hipster ketchup is actually good. Like really good too, even though I feel like I'm abandoning my working-class roots every time I make fries.

u/ellefemme35 · 1 pointr/Keto_Food

If you’re getting an immersion blender, it’s the way to go. I have two since I use them so much. They also make hollandaise sauce a breeze! Let me know how it goes for you when you try it!

I’m not a huge ketchup fan, either, but this stuff changed my opinion.

I tried it a couple years before Obama asked for it on his burger. Actually it is a nice kick to a well-made burger. I'd not ask for it all the time but it works if I'm in the mood for it.

That said, replace tomato ketchup with Baron's banana ketchup and I will die happy. I keep a bottle in my pantry and an open on in my refrigerator. Tomato ketchup for fries, banana ketchup on my burger. If going to someone's cookout and it is BYOB and potluck for sides, I'm packing some Baron's too for my burger. Wife and I were introduced to it when we were down in St. Lucia for the first time and fell in love.

YMMV.
