The Korean dupe for the porefessional is the Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Primer, which is the EXACT same as the porefessional but cheaper. I bought mine at a kbeauty store for around 5$ but it's on amazon!

u/alextyrian · 30 pointsr/rupaulsdragrace

Eyebrow Cover - Elmer's Glue, Pros-aide Cream. Raven talking about Bianca recommending it to her.

Powder - Coty Airspun is the best on the market for the cost. You can literally get it at Walmart, and for Translucent Powder the only thing that matters is the texture. Ben Nye Luxury Powder is the other standard, but it's pricier. The "girl, look how orange you fucking look, girl" powder is Topaz. A ton of queens of color use the Banana powder, and even cis women use it now because Kim K's makeup artist uses it on her. Ben Nye also makes a Super White powder that gets used over their Clown White foundation for very stark highlights, like under the brow. I believe Super White is the powder Sharon Needles uses to look ghostly. Raven's preferred pressed white powder is Mac Studio Fix in Shivering White.

Foundations - Kryolan TV Paintstick has been the industry standard for about a decade now. It used to be MaxFactor Panstik, but they discontinued it in the US. Jackie Beat bought all of it that she could in bulk when that happened, but then I think eventually switched to Kryolan. Dermablend was originally formulated to cover burns, so it also gets used. I believe Katya used it on Drag Race, if she doesn't still use it. Ben Nye Clown White is the product that Nina accused everyone of stealing from her, and is an incredibly versatile product. Manila Luzon used it in her makeup tutorial to cover her black brows.

Eyeshadows - Sugarpill Pro Palette is pretty ubiquitous at this point, but they were founded in like 2010 so there are still old-school queens who are holdouts. Bulletproof and Tako are just about the best black and white eyeshadows on the market. Trixie and Farrah both use Dollypop constantly. On the other hand, they mostly concentrate on crayola colors and less on browns. La Femme and Mac are basically responsible for Raven's beige face. Miss Fame uses a lot of Cozzette Infinite Eyeshadow.

Lip Pencils - MAC are basically the standard. Nothing else comes to mind. I've used drug store pencils, but these are the only ones I've gone out of my way for. Sharon swears by Nightmoth lip liner.

Lip Color - OCC Lip Tar used to be everywhere, but Jeffree Star seems to have put them out of business. Traditional lipsticks are easy to make, so basically any drugstore brand does the job if you can find a color you like.

Highlighters - Jeffree Star Skin Frost, Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit. These didn't used to be a thing. In Manila's 2011 makeup tutorial she used dots of MAC loose pigment in Vanilla for this purpose, and that was kind of groundbreaking because it was how her face didn't look matte after being powdered to hell.

this is a great dupe and a lot cheaper. Someone on one of these threads recommended it to me, so paying it forward :)

u/strubes · 10 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I use this Etude House eyebrow pencil daily and it lasts me around 6 months. The thing just never dies!

u/snorklax · 10 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

seconding /r/asianbeauty which will have both skincare tips and a variety of primers / finishes you might not have have been aware of before. For example, I just got the Aritaum Pore Master Sebum Control Primer which has turned out to be a super affordable dupe for Benefit's Porefessional, which means I don't feel guilty using it over larger areas of larger pores.

Another thing to remember is that youtube isn't real life - even if it isn't as commercially shot as makeup ads many youtubers are using ring lights and filters to enhance what's showing up on film.

You could try something like these?

https://www.amazon.com/Eyeliner-Stamp-WingLiner-Waterproof-Smudgeproof/dp/B07GM317JJ

My sister used them and said they weren’t half bad. If she can get the triangle shape, maybe the connecting line will be the only hard part left?

u/vallogallo · 9 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

Ok so I'm trying out minimal makeup again. I got the Glossier boy brow and it's been working out really well for me. (I have very sparse eyebrows which I don't understand since I have pretty dark/thick hair, why the hell are my eyebrows so thin?? This stuff rules because I refuse to get my eyebrows plucked/threaded/shaped/microbladed and wanted them to look thicker and fuller. A+ would recommend that product.) Anyway I was looking for mascara recommendations on this sub and wanted some opinions on which one I should go with. This is what I've found:

u/dodell616 · 8 pointsr/MtF

Sorry no video. Makeup is incredibly confusing, and time consuming! You just have to go for it, and create your own style, and routines.

If you're applying eyeliner to your waterline, which is that tiny ridge between your lashes and your eyeball (upper and lower) it needs to be dry, and oil free.

If you are using liquid, or gel eyeliner, it will smudge until it sets. The fan lets you blow air on your lashes/brows without messing up your hair.

The powder puts a very fine translucent layer over the eyeliner, and or eyeshadow to keep it from smudging, and to set it. 💕E

Oil Cleanser: Holika Holika Soda Pore cleansing B.B Deep Cleansing Oil

This stuff takes off ALL my makeup with a gentle massage. Every ounce of waterproof eyeliner and mascara comes off in under 10 seconds. When it comes in contact with water it emulsifies, leaving your face clean and soft with no oily residue. Magical stuff.

Cleanser: CeraVe Foaming Cleanser

My skin has improved leaps and bounds after introducing CeraVe to my routine. Both the cleanser and moisturizer are gentle and have improved my skin texture greatly.

BB Cream: Lioele Triple Solution BB Cream

Amazing coverage, great tone-matching and leaves my skin looking fresh and flawless. With skin brightening ingredients and SPF30, this is my go-to skin product.

Mascara: Clump Crusher

'Nuff said.

Eyeliner: Cailyn Gel Liner

A great find from Ipsy! This stuff is totally smudge-proof and with the applicator brush (included in the packaging), it goes on smooth and crisp. Perfect cat-eye every time.

Everyday Lip Colour: TONYMOLY Petite Bunny Gloss Bar in Juicy Apple

Even not including the beyond adorable packaging, I adore this lip balm. It gives a gorgeous sheer pinky hue to my lips. The formula is SUPER moisturizing and creamy. It goes on like butter, no stickiness at all. And less than 4 bucks a pop? Amazing.

u/bananamichii · 6 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

If you're open to Asian products, Lioele Auto Eyebrow Pencil (#3 Gray Black) is a great cool-toned gray brow product for black brows. I can't speak to whether it's waterproof or not, but it lasts through several hours of volleyball on me! It's usually available on Amazon for around $10.

u/simplythere · 6 pointsr/drugstoreMUA

If you're cool with ordering online, I use the Etude House Drawing Brow in Gray Brown.

u/Jessnm · 6 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

L'Oreal Paris Double Extend Beauty Tubes Mascara? http://www.amazon.com/LOreal-Paris-Double-Extend-Mascara/dp/B001IAINFU

I can't seem to find the waterproof version, but I've used this before and they come out just as you described in the shower.

u/DarlingBri · 6 pointsr/muacjdiscussion

This one! You can find the same thing on US Amazon too.

u/gayselle · 5 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

You have monolids and as stated by other redditors there's communities on reddit that specifically deal with that.

I find using Asian brands helps because likely they address such issues related to monolids. I keep peddling this product but Kiss Me Heroine Mascara is great for short Asian lashes. It's waterproof and really lengthens. I have cried, sweat, taken a shower, and even swam with this mascara and it does not budge. A waterproof eyeliner is also ideal and I like Dollywink eyeliner and Kiss Me Heroine eyeliner. When you're applying make sure it dries fully and you keep steady and try not to blink.

If you are willing to take a drastic step other people deal with their monolids by using eyelid tape or glue to create "double eyelids". I find it unnecessary because there are other makeup techniques that are specific to monolids. Good luck!

I like the real techniques fine liner brush

It has synthetic bristles like a normal brush but is super tiny so I get the best line with gels, I honestly swear by it.

u/K8eCastle · 4 pointsr/CFBOffTopic

If you're fairly new to makeup I'd look into a tinted moisturizer, face powder, a natural blush, and mascara for starters. You definitely don't want to start off too strong, especially if you don't typically wear makeup.

  • Tinted moisturizer is great because it isn't heavy and is pretty easy to match to your skin tone since it isn't very opaque. It gives your skin a little color without appearing caked on. This can be applied with a sponge or even with your fingers if you prefer. I like this one a lot!

  • Face powder is great if you have oily skin. You can get translucent powder or one that has color in it. It's best to apply with a large, fluffy brush but sometimes they will come with a pouf that works as well. This is a great loose powder.

  • Blush will give your face a little color. It's hard to recommend a shade since I don't know your skin tone, but Maybelline makes really nice blushes that are pigmented, but not so much that you will look like a clown with just a touch.

  • Mascara will make your eyes look more open and awake without overpowering them. You can even get brown for a more natural look! This one is my current favorite!
u/PMMeCrochetPatterns · 4 pointsr/MUAontheCheap

I know you may not be looking for recommendations, but have you tried this:
Aritaum Pore Master -
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X3PQ6IY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_xcB3CbBKVCQBJ

I super love it, and it's made a bug difference with the large pores on my forehead and nose.

u/[deleted] · 4 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I really like the Nyx eyebrow cake powder in black/gray. It doesn't have that red undertone that makes the color look unnatural.

As an alternative, this Lioele brow pencil has a very natural color to it too. Plus it comes with a spoolie at the other end.

u/Oisillon · 3 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

Happy early birthday! :D

I'm so looking forward to fall because all the orange! It is my most favorite fall color. And this year, I have Fire from Stila's In the Know palette, plus all those lovely neutrals to pair it with. I can't wait!

I'd love to add Coastal Scent's Fall Festival palette to my collection this fall, and given the theme of this contest, I'm going to pick that as my prize if I were to win. Throw in a NYX lip color or blush if the prize needs to be closer in price to $25, but I'd be just as ecstatic with only the palette. It's so pretty! :)

I hardly ever see /u/iwontremeberthis entering contests, and she's always so friendly and helpful, especially when it comes to indies, so she's the one I'm tagging in!

u/oy_ · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

if you are having trouble with the mascara sliding off, try some tubing mascaras! i used to have horrible raccoon eyes, waterproof mascara or not. i read somewhere on here try a tubing mascara over your normal. actually works, no more raccoon eyes! i use l'oreal beauty tubes.

It's my party!

If it was my birthday, I'd probably ask for (or buy for myself, let's be honest) theBalm Nude 'Tude palette and the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze. I've been kicking myself for not buying the Nude 'Tude palette from the Haute Look sale, and I've been wanting to try Bad to the Bronze for awhile now. I hope the items linked right!

u/UnworkedJade · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I'm blond with almost no lashes so L'Oreal Paris Double Extend is my go to drug store mascara, none of the high-end brands has ever match up to it! It never smears, and it only comes off with hot water, so you can even swim with it! Makes me look like I actually have lashes! Yay.....

u/Airmaid · 3 pointsr/muacjdiscussion

Thank you! Just a simple eyeliner brush. Specifically, I got this brush in one of their sets https://www.amazon.com/Real-Techniques-Fine-Liner-Brush/dp/B007O7AZ3O

If you want to pick something up at a physical store, you can use this thread from MUA for good drugstore brands that run pretty cheap usually :)

If you can't find anything good from this, here's some Brands I suggest:

  • Maybelline (lippies [usually], glosses, and the FIT Me foundation & concealer are amazing) Amazon/CVS/Walmart/Rite-Aid/Ulta

  • Wet n Wild (eye shadows, lippies) usually on Amazon w/ free shipping and <$5 so no worries

  • ELF (Studio line brushes [the others are ehhh] and blush) not everything is on Amazon, but the site has lots of deals and sales all the time

  • NYX (lippies, brow kits, eye shadows) CVS/Amazon/Ulta

As you can tell, yes, I'm really really into makeup

I use Japanese liquid eyeliners; a lot of them go on smooth and have fine brush tips.
Here's one very popular in Asia that I have been using for two years because I have monolids and my eyeliner tends to smudge at the outer corners but this one doesn't: KissMe Smooth Liquid Eyeliner Plus, it's very similar to the KVD tattoo eyeliner but costs waaay less.
And this is a list of recommended Japanese eyeliners I found online:https://tokyobeautybook.com/2016/09/09/5-of-the-best-japanese-drugstore-liquid-liners/ All of the listed eyeliners sell well in Japan, and my mom uses the Mote eyeliner and she likes it very much.

Alright, first...Happy Early Birthday!!!

Now on to face things.

Skincare

First of all you should check out r/skincareaddiction. Even if you don't want to join the community the FAQ is great.

What I do for my normal/oily skin is every morning and every night I wash with CeraVe Foaming Face Wash which is recommended for oilier skin. So you might want to check that out.

Every 3 days or so I exfoliate with Epicuren which is just from my mom's shop but it's a nice deep scrubs without being too abrasive. You don't want abrasive like with say St. Ive Apricot scrub because you're actually tearing your skin and that's just not very nice. You want to gently exfoliate.

Once a week I use a LUSH face mask. My favorite is Love Lettuce because it's refreshing and exfoliating. Second favorite is definitely Cupcake. I feel so clean and bright after it.

Wipe off your makeup before you go to bed. It's bad for your skin and bad for your sheets. Whatever you do to take it off, just get it off. I use vaseline. It's cheap and easy on my sensitive skin.

Clean your brushes. Clean them. Seriously. What I do is after every makeup application I get a tissue and something with and edge like the edge of my dresser and I wipe the brush over the tissue over the edge to get all the excess makeup out. Then every 2 weeks I do a deep clean. Get a bar of some kind (towel rack, clothes hanger) and rubber bands. Get some warm, running water, and either some baby shampoo or some brush cleaner (though honestly I just use shampoo) and wet your brushes, bristles pointing downwards always. You don't want to get water trapped inside the little metal/plastic attaching ring thingy. Add a dot of shampoo to your hand and swish that brush around. It'll be gross. Good. You'll always remember to do it now that you know how gross your brushes get. Rinse bristles down. Dry bristles down by wrapping the rubber band around the handle and attaching to your rod/hanger.

Makeup

This is what I cannot live without

  1. Naked Basics. This is the best $27 I have ever spent in my life. I use it every single friggin day. All of the colors are perfect neutral mattes from lightest light to darkest dark. I even use one of the colors to fill my eyebrows. It's perfect.

  2. Wet n Wild Liquid Liner. I've become a liquid liner addict. It really helps make it look like I have eyelashes. The brush is very firm and very thin so I always end up with a line where I want it.

  3. Urban Decay 24/7 glide on liner in Smoke. I have very light eye lashes. So I tight line.. Trust me. You want to tight line.

  4. Clump Crusher I love this mascara. It really is non-clumping and while it doesn't give me the longest lashes in the world it makes them look fuller because there's no clumps.

  5. Smashbox BB Cream. This is just the BB cream I use. It does what all the BB creams do but I happen to match the 'Fair' color very well.

  6. Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer. This shit smells like chocolate. I'm not even joking. I'm new to bronzer, but it's perfect for my skin tone.

  7. Sephora Blush. I'm still learning about blushes but I like that this one is matte. I'm not a sparkle face girl.

  8. Lipstick. I have too many to choose. See this comment I did where I swatch and rated every lipstick I have.

  9. E.L.F eye shadow primer You need primer. No. You need it.

    Makeup For You

So if you're just starting out again you don't want to go spending a stupid amount of money before you figure out what you like. So here are my suggestions for you specifically.

  10. Eyeshadow. Now if you can afford it, I highly recommend Urban Decay Naked Basics. But that's $27. So in lieu of that I suggest you get some Wet n Wild Eyeshadows. Maybe this one or this one.

  11. Eye shadow primer. Go to target and find the ELF section and get primer. It's a dollar and it will make your eye shadow amazing. No reapplying no smudging no creasing. Just perfect perfect eyes. It comes in other colors too, you may want to get a shade darker if you want to match your skin tone.

  12. Eyeliner. I would say get a pencil in either black or dark brown. I don't know if liquid liner is right for your eye shape but if you want to give it a go then you do whatever you want; it's your face.

  13. Eyelashes. Get a lash curler. Two to three curls and you should be good. I'd say black mascara for you.

  14. Eyebrows. I'm not an eyebrow expert but you're probably going to want to shape and fill in your eye brows (unless you love them just the way they are). For shape I'd go to a professional first before you wax at home or go plucking away. Then for filling in you can just use an eyebrow kit. Although I've heard complaint that dark eyebrows are the hardest to find a matching color for :(

  15. BB Cream. I hear Etude house kicks butt and it won't break your bank.

  16. Concealer. I love Maybelline 24 Hour Superstay Concealer it's awesome. You want to blend that stuff too, don't just dot it on.

  17. Blush. I think maybe a peachy blush but pictures don't always show stuff right for skin tone so maybe you need pink. I can't really tell.

  18. Bronzer. You've got great cheek bones. I would skip this for now. Unless you're super gungho in which case: I'd check out The Balm.

  19. Lipstick. Cheap and amazing lipstick is NYX and I think a nice natural shade would look great on you. But seriously, if you live near an ulta, nyx is like $3.99-$5.99 for lipstick. It's amazing. Or everyone goes gaga for these Etude House Bunny Glosses.

Anyway, I think you look really great and that's the best start is being confident and having a natural beauty. Also I love your hair. But if you have any questions just let me know :)
u/KeyserSOhItsTaken · 3 pointsr/buildapc

This one gets constant praise here on reddit. Personally I have a set I got at a Harbor Freight I've had for years. Any "precision" toolkit will work just fine. A magnetic version will be your friend.

I've heard that tubing mascara is great for sensitive eyes. They're far from waterproof though (which is harsher on your eyes anyways). Here's the one I'm eyeing right now if you want to try a cheap one before investing in something more expensive. https://smile.amazon.com/LOreal-Paris-Double-Mascara-0-17-Fluid/dp/B001IAINFU/ref=sr_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1478094697&sr=8-1&keywords=tubing%2Bmascara&th=1

This is one of my favorite questions to ask people! My husband and I are big on paying it forward.

Last christmas, the Doc Mcstuffins doll was one of the hot toys. We were lucky enough to get one for our niece, but it turned out that she already had one. People were selling it on eBay and Craigslist for 3 times its worth because it was in such high demand. We decided to list our doll on cl for the price we paid ($50, I believe). The woman who inquired first seemed so happy to find the doll... When she showed up to pick it up, she handed me the cash. I handed it back to her and said, "No charge. Merry Christmas." She shed a few tears and thanked me profusely. It was awesome.

The items I'd most like to have are: Eco Tools 6 Piece Eye Set, Coastal Scents To Go Palette Beijing, or Sleek I Divine Oh So Special palette

Thanks For hosting... Great question! How about you?

u/omglydia · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I just bought the Aritaum Pore Master Primer ($12 on Amazon) and it seems to be a good dupe for the Pore Fessional.

u/jepsycha · 3 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

You, m'lday, are a genius! What a great idea. I will definitely be going through this thread to beef up my wishlist :)

My #1 under five would def be this It has free shipping! Then any color of these because they are way too cute!! And finally this because messing up mascara after doing your whole face is too darn frustrating!

That dress is gorgeous and so are you! You are going to have so much fun at prom! :D

Here is the little tutorial I made for you! The eyeshadow will go perfectly with that dress! I am assuming that you have the basics already (foundation, concealer, setting powder, blush, eyeliner and mascara), so you will just need to get the lip color, the eyeshadow, highlighter and the brow kit.

Sleek Oh So Special Palette $11.50 with shipping. The colors on Amazon are really deceptive! It looks nothing like that..

elf Jumbo Lipgloss Stick in Sangria Starters $1.99

Wet N Wild Ultimate Brow Kit $3.99

Wet N Wild Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana $2.99

I hope this helps you out OP! All of that stuff is just over $20.

EDIT: If you plan on getting that palette or any Sleek stuff for prom, you might want to think about ordering it very soon if you're in the US. The shipping takes a couple of weeks because it is coming from the UK. I highly recommend Sleek products. They are such high quality at such a low price. You can't go wrong!

Pink and Aqua because it is spring, they are really fashionable colours right now, and they go really well together. Also, I should mention, they are my two favourite colours, so a bit biased, but hope you enjoy my little dark pinks at the ends just for a bit of snazzing and highlighting!

A thinner brush may do the trick. A liquid liner also makes for more even lines. My favorite is actually a Japanese brand, KissMe Heroine Make Eyeliner. The bristles are flat and tapered so that you can make very fine, precise lines. Stila Stay All Day is also very popular on this sub. It has a felt tip applicator.

u/JuIia · 2 pointsr/Overwatch

Damn what color did you dye them.. could just fill it in with something like http://www.amazon.com/NYX-Eyebrow-Cake-Powder-Auburn/dp/B002QIADPG

It's a really good natural color, can mix the two to get the right shade. I actually got one at home laying around unopened because I dyed my hair back to my natural shade, can maybe ship it to you if you're interested?

u/batfacecatface · 2 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

I use this and it's awesome!

u/Polysaccharide · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

I have dark hair but the same problem you do with it thinning out to nothing past the "nub" section. I use this Lioele Eyebrow pencil every morning. I prefer this one over others because it builds very well which allows you to choose how dark you eyebrows will be. The different eyebrow kits can do the same thing but I have found that eyebrow pencils are much more convenient.

Like others have suggested, I would also check /r/MakeupAddiction for more advice though. That is where I found all of the eyebrow products I tried before I ultimately decided to use my Lioele pencil.

u/kiribyi · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I tend to avoid eye makeup when I have lash extensions. But if I do use eyeliner, I buy an eyeliner that can be removed with hot/warm water. This is the one I've used previously: https://www.amazon.com/KissMe-Smooth-Liquid-Eyeliner-Black/dp/B005F751WK/ref=pd_sim_194_6?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B005F751WK&pd_rd_r=Y4007VTBW8HW57CTTM2X&pd_rd_w=QRayT&pd_rd_wg=Cm0Ez&psc=1&refRID=Y4007VTBW8HW57CTTM2X

I've never heard of microbrushes! But I'm assuming the large size is best in order to mimic the same effect as a q-tip more or less

u/BrassAge · 2 pointsr/Authentic_Vaping

I sure do! I actually have the entire iFixit kit, which I enjoy, but the first link is just the bits and driver.

Oh yeah, at least personally Aloe Vera does wonders. We had some plants here but sadly they didn't fit anymore (my mother is a plant hobbyist, if we had a garden she'd be even happier).

For big pores I guess you put on make up? As I said I've never been into make up (I like to watch tutorials though). Do you use a primer? The one I see recommended on the channel I watch is this Aritaum primer.

I actually wanted to bleach my hair but my mother tells me that it reallydamages the hair. I don't know if it would be worth it, to be honest.. Besides, my hair is kinda darkish brown so it would probably be hard to do.

u/grendelwynn · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

It's been a while since I've used a brow-wiz/pencil type product! I'm lazy and have pretty good natural brows, thank god. Mostly I just brush through my brows with the L'Oreal brow stylist plumper in light/medium or the Nyx brow mascara in...I'm not sure what color I have in this, exactly. I just know it's a little too dark for me >.< but I like it anyway.

I really like the ashiness (aaaand the price) of the etude house drawing eyebrow in grey brown although the formula is a little hard for my taste. It's hard to get a precise "hair-like" line with this but it's okay for filling in patchy areas.

Oh wait I also have a tarte powder from forever ago that I think I will probably l have until I die; there is so much of it in the pan. I have it in medium brown and it's the perfect color. I just use an angled brush with this one. This might be the closest thing to the benefit brow zings that I can comment on, although it doesn't come with a wax or anything.

u/marigoldyeg · 2 pointsr/Edmonton

Absolutely. I would look these items up on Makeup Alley, or see if Tati on youtube has reviewed them to see if they are something you would be interested in...
Coty Airspun– I think you should ask for the unscented powder since the scented one sounds overwhelming.
Catrice Cosmetics – Now this has some cult following, and it looks like Shoppers Drug Mart is starting to ship this, so the brand may be available in Canada soon! Again, check out Tati, she mentions a few.

Sonia Kashuk Brushes and Make Up – A brand that’s usually found at Target, her brushes are pretty well loved and bargain priced! I recall Target had a few other hard to find brands but I can’t think of any specifically.
Expensive brands like Hourglass and Charlotte Tilbury and Kat Von D are kinda available in Canada, but not the full line. Tarte Shape Tape (exclusively at Ulta) is a must have! Morphe is also at Ulta, another dream of mine.
Try this link too - http://www.mtv.co.uk/beauty/news/cult-us-beauty-products-not-sold-in-uk
Off topic, but I find the selection of Nike shoes and cool colours of sneakers limited in Edmonton. It’s hard with shoe size, but some of my best gifts have been these unique pieces.
Got a sweet tooth? This looks like heaven in a dessert!
I am sorry I can’t be more specific about products since it depends on skin type, complexion etc. But I hope this may help a bit, or at least you’ll learn a thing or two :D

What makes me beautiful!

Eyeliner! I'm lacking in color options. Currently I can wear brown, or GEL brown.

u/Mishiiee · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

My beauty related: Colored Eyeliners! because my eyes are what makes me beautiful!

u/Bunny_of_Doom · 2 pointsr/transpassing

Cutie! I think a few makeup additions would look real nice:

skip the eyeshadow and go for mascara and eyeliner instead, maybe winged liquid liner look? Tricky to master, but you can cheat with eyeliner stamps like these: https://www.amazon.com/Eyeliner-Stamp-WingLiner-Waterproof-Smudgeproof/dp/B07GM317JJ . It will give you a nice cute feminine accent (only line the top lid, not the bottom, lining both can make your eyes look smaller). You do have slightly hooded eyes, so look up youtube videos on how to do eye makeup for hooded eyes as the techniques can be a bit different. If liquid eyeliner feels too bold, you can try a nice smudged eyeliner look with a softer brown, focusing on the outer top and bottom of your lashes.

Mauve shade blush would look very nice and give some great color and softening to your cheeks, and play around with some contouring as you get more comfortable.

I'd go with a medium rose/mauve color lip, something darker than you have in the photos but not too dark, and probably a soft matte vs a gloss to give you some definition for your lips. NYX brand matte lipstick in Euro Trash, or Sierra would be good options to try (NYX is a great affordable brand in general that is great for testing out different styles). As a rule, expect lipsticks to look brighter on than they may appear in a photo, especially for us lighter skinned gals, so veer towards less bright options unless you're going for bold.

Beyond makeup, I'd recommend visiting a eyebrow threading salon to add some more shape and arch your eyebrows a bit more. Eventually you can probably pluck them yourselves but the salon can teach you a great shape for your face and they're usually only $15-20. Once they're shaped, you can fill them with a eyebrow stencil kit like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Aesthetica-Brow-Contour-Kit-Instructions/dp/B018UPHLU8/. Less is more for eyebrows, but they have a couple of shapes you can play with!

And I think bangs would look great on you! Like long side swept bangs ala Rachel McAdams: https://www.herinterest.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/9f7b85b7ed7cd95d0d16a99cdb443be5.jpg. Not too much of a commitment, they'd grow out in a couple months if you hate them.

These are just minor suggestions to give you that extra confidence, but you look great! Lovely smile, great skin, keep shining!

u/theimpossiblesong · 2 pointsr/Blind

I love this question it's not silly at all! I'm a blind makeup lover too so I completely understand.
Have you tried using a winged eye liner stamp? They're a bit more of a tactile experience than using a pen and require a little less precision. Plus once you get some practice it looks really cute!

I'm naturally strawberry blonde with unfortunately pale/nearly invisible eyebrows and this is what I use.
I use the lighter color, but I imagine the darker color would be good for more coppery/auburn redheads.

u/peanutmonkey · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

perhaps something like this? I think powder looks far more natural than pencil. You could also see if you have a medium taupe color and try that on for size. Warning: it might be weird to have brows when you aren't used to having them ;). Also, you might look around your area and see if there are any day spas that offer brow dyeing. My mom has super blonde brows, and she gets hers dyed for about $20 every 6 weeks.

u/cmyers84 · 2 pointsr/computertechs

If you want to do electronics repair in general, I'd recommend iFixit's kit, which includes tools useful for repairing, say, a broken tablet/phone screen, and various non-standard bits.

http://www.amazon.com/iFixit-145072-Pro-Tech-Toolkit/dp/B007XGWQ2Y/ref=sr_1_2?s=power-hand-tools&ie=UTF8&qid=1452147004&sr=1-2&keywords=ifixit

For PC repair in general, try to get something intended to be used on servers or in production environments. You want something that will last, and not be prone to having its tip chip or break off.

I have only a little experience with soldering, and use a Radio shack iron. Unfortunately, I can't provide any suggestions.

u/chafingcow · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

More than a specific brand, I'd say learning how to properly tightline has helped me the most. You don't want the liner to be over your lashes or on your waterline (more likely to cause smudging). The liner needs to be placed on the root of your lashes. Practice makes perfect!

If you're a fan of pencil, Rimmel Scandal Eyes is a popular choice.

Gel? Maybelline Eye Studio or Wet n Wild Mega Eyes.

I, personally, have yet to find a pencil or gel that didn't smudge on me (regardless of price), so I prefer liquid. Physician's Formula is a good drugstore option. I also love love LOVE Asian liners like Clio, Dolly Wink, and Kiss Me Heroine.

It's probably the product itself; you shouldn't be having to cake it on like that. I haven't tried the product you're using so I can't say for sure that that's the problem, but the Inglot liner I have goes on completely opaque in one pass. (I use this RT brush to apply.) That liner is $12 not including shipping. If that's out of your budget, I also use a Milani Liquid Eye gel pencil on my waterline, which you can buy at CVS for $7 I think?

I can vouch for both of those that they go on in one pass, are opaque, and stay put, if you want to try something else!

u/RadioPixie · 2 pointsr/AskWomen
  1. I'm obsessed with Geek Chic Cosmetics eyeshadows. I love the intensity of the colors, and it's really easy for me to apply with a wet brush so they can double as eyeliner.

  2. Been wearing lipsticks more lately, as they're faster for me to go from out of bed to having a "look" for the day. For "normal" colors like red and pink, I like the texture of Revlon Ultimate Suede. Lately, though, I've been wearing weird indie colors like this teal lipstick.

  3. Sun protection is important, but my face is red and needs coverage! BB cream comes to my rescue and does both.

  4. I have the oiliest eyelids on the planet, so in order to use my beloved eyeshadows, I need a primer.

  5. Sounds ridiculous, but this little green concealer stick by Maybelline is great for covering my red spots.
u/false_parallax · 2 pointsr/CatsandCosmetics

I personally really like this angled one from Korean brand Etude House. I use Dipbrow when I want my brows to be sharp, but my day-to-day use is that. It comes in a few different colors. I use #3 I think, and I will be repurchasing.

I just picked up the iFixit Pro Toolkit as well as a cheap set of screw drivers. I also use a magnet tray for holding screws (especially useful for laptops) and I lay my screw drivers in there while I'm working to magnetize the tips.

One of my cheapest (free) things I've added to my workbench recently is an old 17" Dell Ultrasharp that was given to me. It's absolutely wonderful for a tech bench. It has VGA and DVI input. It's height adjustable, and swivels. It has 4 USB ports built into it. I leave my keyboard and mouse plugged into it, as well as signal and power cables. When a machine hits my bench, I plug in one signal cable, one power cable, and one USB cable and I'm ready to go.

Damn your skin looks perfect. /jealous. Are you excited for college? I'm almost done (ahhh I feel old >.<) and I wish I wasn't. I hope you have a wonderful experience and that you find great supportive people to make memories with. (Am I being sappy? My b.)

As for makeup, I would say NYX and e.l.f. are good places to start. Personally I prefer NYX but I know a lot of people like e.l.f. so try both out. If you start out with those two, you can figure out what you really love to wear and then save up for nicer versions of them. I would also suggest Wet n Wild (super cheap but surprisingly high quality - I like their lipsticks and the Comfort Zone palette is one of my favorites). and Milani, if you can find it. I get mine at CVS, but I know some people have trouble finding it. They have nice products and don't cost a fortune. I think most, if not all, of their products are less than $10.

Looking forward to seeing you around!

It's hard to judge myself here on the nicest thing I've done. I tend to think I'm a fairly generous person. So I'll just share my relationship with my cousin and how I think it reflects my nicer side..

My cousin has divorced parents, her dad is a factory worker and her mom isn't the nicest person in the world....when she was 16 she got in the car with her brother and left her mom's house, vowing never to come back. So far, she hasn't. We were always pretty close since we were just a little over a year apart(she's the younger one) and we'd always go to school together. My mom started the trend of nice gestures. He father went to work fairly early so he would drop my cousins off at our house so they could go to school with us. We were practically sisters because we spent so much time together.

Now she was more popular than me, so that of course meant rumors. On several occasions I heard nasty things being said about her, and every time I would jump up and quickly silence the lies. Even people that were supposed to be her friends were calling her a whore, to which i would reply "I would know ages before you if she's ever had sex, and even if she did, you're supposed to be her friend! Friends accept each other and don't tell everyone their secrets!". It made me so mad!

As we got older and out of high school I ended up passing my college textbooks books down to her instead of getting a refund because she couldn't afford to buy them. She would also come to my house every night to play games with me and my sister and I would cook dinner for us. We often joked that it was her new home. I would help her with college work most nights, and I even drove her around to find a job. Now that I'm getting into makeup, anytime I make an order, I'll often pick up 2 of whatever it is I'm getting and give her one.

Products: Sleek sunset palette, Sleek Oh so special palette, Nyx Matte lip Cream in any color

EDIT: Also, If anyone sees a cheapish/used naked 3 for sale, I'm looking to surprise her with that. I don't think I'd ever use it, but she's in love with it. Don't have a ton of money to spend for it though or I'd buy it new.

u/neverwhere9 · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I absolutely LOVE the Coastal Scents palette. It's like a Z palette but more organized and cleaner. I actually bought this palette because it also came with some CS singles in colors I liked - I wanted to try out the CS formula and it wasn't much more expensive than an empty one (plus Prime shipping).

I assumed I would get rid of 90% of the shadows but ended up LOVING probably 75% of them. In fact I ended up placing a Coastal Scents order for more of their singles, I liked the formula so much. Now I use that palette to rotate my most used singles from UD, MAC, and Makeup Geek and it is PERFECT. Huge sturdy mirror too.

I actually love the stark contrast of the black brows against my skin, I use black eyeshadow for the most part.

That all said, on days that I'm feeling lazy and don't want to spend time making sure they don't look like sharpie brows, I use this gray pencil: http://www.amazon.com/Lioele-Auto-Eyebrow-Gray-Black/dp/B008J7I8MS/ref=sr_1_1?s=beauty&ie=UTF8&qid=1414961452&sr=1-1&keywords=lioele+eyebrow+pencil

It's not too harsh, just very neutral gray, so I just swipe for a bit and then set it with clear eyebrow gel. I think they are an Asian company. The reason I looked into that was because Dark brown/black hair is so common over there. Hope that helps.

I go back and forth between using a primer and not, but I always use setting powder.

For reference, my skin type is Dehydrated/Combo leaning a little more towards oily. I use Skin79 Green BB Creme, Nivea After Shave Balm For Men (Non-AB) as a Primer, and Coty Air Spun Original (Non-AB) as a setting powder.

I have a desk job where I don't do much and generally wear lighter makeup, so usually I'll skip my primer. However, if I'm going out or planning to wear heavy makeup, I always do a primer, setting spray, and setting spray (just in case because of how oily my skin can get).

I'm planning on ditching my primer eventually and looking into Innisfree No Sebum Powder as my setting powder because of how highly recommended it is for oily people! I'll be eyeing this thread for primer recommendations :)

I suggest at least getting a setting powder and seeing if that does the trick. If not, try finding a primer that works for your skin and see if that help. If that doesn't work, add a setting spray and hopefully that should do the trick!

That is incredible!! Congratulations!!!

And this is such awesome way to celebrate and something I've always dreamed of doing. Here is the link to the shadows I've been eyeing for months but just can't pull the trigger on. I only put one link to save time but I love the teal, emerald and purple. I'm not sure how much that will come to so I'm adding this as well. It's so hard to choose from all the pretties on my wishlist!!!

Thanks for hosting!!!

Wow, congratulations! That must have taken a lot of hard work and finesse. I know you don't know me, but I"m proud of you :D

If the raffle were to pick me ( BIG MONEY! , by the way) I would want either/both of these things:

Etude House makes a grey one and a straight up grey brown one that fits those guidelines. Grey brown and dark grey. I have the dark grey and I love it.

u/Dlorian · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

Mega grats! Life is so much better when work is going well. That's really amazing and I hope your employer sees how awesome you are! :)

Now down to serious business: C'mon big money, big money, no whammiiieeesss STOP!

If I had $30, I'd definitely go for NYX Cosmetics The Smokey Eyeshadow Palette, the Coastal Scents Fall Festival Palette and NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Transylvania.

u/blackdustbelt · 1 pointr/RandomActsofMakeup

Mine always runs because my lower eye lids touch my mascara :[
Waterproof doesn't always stop smudges, because it may be the oil, not tears, from your skin breaking it down.

For me, powdering under my eyes helps a lot. But my HG has been the Loreal Beauty Tubes mascara. I just use it as a top coat and it makes all my mascaras water and oil proof :D

u/cameronabab · 1 pointr/airsoft

OP, buy this toolkit. It's a newer version of what I have.

I use this driver set for fucking everything, from airsoft to computers. It is one of the handiest things I own, and the quality of it is pretty good. The one I have is a couple years old now, but I haven't had a single issue with it

u/quejesache · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

Does she have enough eyebrow hair to use a powder, or is Tally a pencil-only lady? If she can use powder (maybe powder and something to set it? Two Faced Liquif-eye maybe?) NYX is the best auburn brow colour I've ever found! It sounds like her and I have the same hair colour - something between strawberry and auburn - and I swear by this set. I've tried almost everything and I keep coming back.

The darker colour is great for "fake" reds, and the taupe-y brown-y reddish one is almost impossible to find in my redhead world. My natural brows aren't quite red and they're not quite brown... but they're slightly darker and more brown than my hair. This has been my dream colour! Plus, NYX is really cheap.

Check out the colours on!

Edit: I messed up the links.

I'll start off : not exactly drugstore but cheaper than Sephora. I have my holy grail eyeliner and mascara so I'm never tempted to buy anything else at Sephora or drugstore. I'm at more than 15 repurchase for both of these are $10-11 per item

Kiss Me eyeliner

Kiss Me mascara

Look around Amazon for cheaper options (with slower shipping). I value no-smudge as most important for eye makeup. Staying power is second. With any other eye makeup, I have to constantly wipe under my eye from smudge/flake. With these two, I can confidently go all day without checking for smudge. Every time try new stuff, I end up coming back to these two. These are the only eyeliner/mascara that I've paid for for about 5-6 years. Others were obtained as samples/gifts only

Kat von D tattoo eyeliner has been comparable but didn't perform any better than kiss me eyeliner to justify paying more than double. Haven't tried stila eyeliner

I have yet to find mascara that will make me give up on kiss me (Marc Jacobs, UD, Nars, Bobbi Brown and countless others have failed). The only one I am interested in trying (and have no comparison for) would be better than sex

Edit: hyperlink fixed

Gotcha.

I see amazon does have mac, and it looks like its sold by mac but I am leaning toward the lorac & stila. Do you have an opinion on the quality of stila's eye shadow pallets? The in the garden seems to have pretty favorable review.

I decided to throw in one of those all day lipsticks that you mentioned, too!

Lioele auto eyebrow pencil in gray #3! You can get one from Amazon if you don't have any Asian beauty stores in your area. Perfect for black hair. The pencil is angled so it's super easy to apply, and it lasts. I've filled in my brows before fencing tournaments and still had them look the same after 4 hours of ridiculous sweating. My only quibble is that the packaging is kind of brittle and you'll probably lose the spoolie cap before you use up the pencil, but I wholeheartedly recommend it anyway.

Hello doodlebug lady! Here's something I keep meaning to get, since my current one is all warped from the sun and peeling off. Looking at your wish list, I think you'd like this. I have it and I LOVE it. It stays on for the whole day and NEVER creases or anything. I have deep set eyes and usually have trouble with creasing, but this stuff rocks. Thanks for the contest pookie =3

FYI, that palette is currently $21 on Amazon, and ships for free if you have Amazon Prime!

Hey! I was totally in this situation 6 months ago. Figuring out technique is a sort of "figure it out as you go" situation and tons of videos on youtube can help you figure it out. What I can help you with is your purchases. Figuring out what you'll need is extremely overwhelming, so here's a dirty rundown of what I've gathered so far:

  1. Starting off can be pricey, so I highly recommend starting off buying cheaper make-up until you figure out your vibe. You really don't need the expensive stuff to look good, and make-up in stores like Sephora and Ulta are EXTREMELY expensive relative to how much you will be using vs. their price. That being said, amazon is your girl. Mehron has extremely cheap foundations on Amazon and they last forever (at least they did for me) - attached is my main shade, but you can look through the color options they have to guess your base/contour/highlight. I've only gone through one entire stick of my base foundation (which I use the most) since i've bought my base make up. I HIGHLY recommend in investing in beauty blenders and not brushes when it comes to foundation because i've found that beauty blenders make looks come out a lot more polished. (Not to say that good looks can't come out of brushes, I've just found blenders to be a lot easier to work with.
  2. Once you have painted your foundation in a way you're happy with, use light layers of setting powder to set it down. Remember that although the more powder you use will have it last longer, the more cakey you'll come out. Also keep in mind that the powder will soften colors, so don't expect the foundation to be as intense as it was before you put the powder on.
  3. Colored eyeshadow can be really tough when you don't know what colors work for you. This is the palette I highly recommend getting based on it's color variety and price. Mind you, some of the colors came in cracked, but if you press them down without mixing them into the other pots, they are deff still usable. Remember that you'll need a lot of brushes if you want to experiment with different shades. Elf brushes found at any general store (Target for example) typically go for a dollar each, so stock up on those so you have room for experimentation. I'd recommend around 10 or so just to be able to play around.
  4. EYELINER. I personally love a sharp thick liner, so I primarily get some cheap liquid liner and cover it with black eyeshadow to make it POP. (This can also be applied to any part of painting - If you want it to really POP (I cannot stress this enough) start with a liquid or cream material and cover it with it's powdered equivalent. Any cheap elf liquid liner will do. If you're not really focused on a sharp liner, go for pencil because it's generally easier to apply.
  5. Eyebrows - Not sure what your eyebrows are like, but trust me when I say that they're one of the biggest inconveniences when it come to painting your face. If your brows are thick, I highly suggest investing in a multipack of glue sticks. Gluing techniques vary among queens, but I tend to apply a heavy layer of glue, smooth out as much as I possibly can as fast as I can before the glue gets tacky and dry with a hairdryer. After the glue is almost dry, I apply a light layer of setting powder (DO NOT GO OVERBOARD, because your brows WILL come out crunchy). After this initial layer, continue layers of glue and LIGHT powder until they're fully blocked. Be sure that they're completely dry before you continue on to the next layer or else the tackiness will cause them to break (and you'll have to start all over). Honestly I'd say shave them off if you have the ability to do so and don't mind what you look like browless as boy.
  6. CLEAN UP. Cleaning up is one of the things I dread most about drag. You'll need some stuff to clean both your face and materials. When it comes to removing make up, wet wipes feel nice, but are (again) pricey. If you're on a budget, cotton rounds and micellar water should do the trick just fine. When it comes to your materials (blenders and brushes) I don't care what anyone says. Dish soap and hot water will ALWAYS remove makeup quickly. Don't use any specialized brush cleansers until you feel comfortable enough to invest in quality brushes.

Again, you don't need EVERYTHING listed above, but for my personal complete look, I require everything I mentioned. Starting off, I blew about around 300 dollars, so save money when you can. When queens joke about how they spent a lot of money to look "this" cheap, they really aren't lying. ALSO, don't be discouraged if you don't have the coin. There are tons of other resources available out there and if possible, you can always slowly acquire items over time.

    Good luck! ✨

I have quite oily skin and I love to use the toofaced peach primer along with the matching foundation or toofaced born this way . I then either coat my whole face with coty airspun which I don’t normally do unless I’m out for a whole day because I hate the mess it makes or the essence all about matte powder.. Lastly I’ll spritz with any setting spray to lock it all in.

u/caraeeezy · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I would really love these for my makeup collection!

u/emstx · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

I concur with the new mascara sentiment. Clump crusher is good and so is maybelline's full n soft.

Elf makes a popular brow kit that comes in a few different colors. Or you could get an eyebrow pencil.

I think getting some nice brushes would be a good idea. I absolutely love elf's studio line brushes, which are $3 a piece. It depends what type of brush you would need, but I think some eye brushes would be good. The eye shadow brush, maybe an angled eyeliner brush and a large blending brush or a contouring brush. Elf can be found at target, BTW.

Wet n wild eye shadows are great. But can definitely be found at the drugstore or grocery store much cheaper.

Wet n wild lipsticks are pretty nice too as well as their lipgloss both of which can be found very cheaply at the grocery store.

Eyeliner in stick form is best from NYX, but if you want cream eyeliner, I suggest elf.

And if you want blush, I would also check out elf.
