I don't have a Lite but I'll try to answer:
> Can these act as controllers to a regular Switch?

No
> If not, are they at least capable of local co-op?

Yes
> Are there streaming services available? Netflix? Disney+?

Hulu and Youtube
>If not, are there plans for more/others? Netflix? Disney+?

Nothing officially announced.
> Specifically is "Movies Anywhere" a downloadable app?

I don't think so
>Anyone ever tried connecting wireless headphones?

You can with a Bluetooth adapter, not directly.
> Are there educational game options?

Yes, examples: Human resource machine, scribblenauts, Dr Kawashima's Brain Training
> Parental controls?

Yes, with a separate mobile app.

> Any advise regarding quality?

It's possible the lite inherits the joycon drift issues from the original Switch, nothing confirmed yet.

> Any advice on accessories?

The original case has an included screen protector I think, use both.

link.

There is also a flipcase you can look at.

I got it off Amazon. I think it was only sold in Japan and the EU (although in much more limited quantities). One left on Amazon: Nintendo Switch Carrying Case & Screen Protector (Splatoon 2 Edition) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072FH4TPJ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_g7UYAb3E0MC9K

u/BabaDopamine · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

This case that came with the Splatoon 2 bundle. I think it looks great and it's super slim but it'll only hold your Switch and a few games. I'll probably use it until I have to start carrying extra Joycons.

u/Lorben · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

The only ones I've seen that can carry a Pro controller are ones that are big enough to also carry the dock. Like this one.

u/RyZeHammoud · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

Yeah those look good, but would leave the joycon quite exposed in my backpack.

Ive seen this case last night. Which also protects the joycon when it’s shut, however I don’t know how good it would be to play with while the case is on. (It also looks bulky and hideous in my opinion)

u/soundcheck2007 · 3 pointsr/Stadia

I just bought a similar one from the same brand and it works fairly well.

It's for the switch controller but the Stadia controller fits nicely in there.

I currently use the smoky Nyko Dock Case, and I like it because it gives a plastic shell on the console without making it bulky. It is advertised to be so thin in docks in the case, and I remember it did decently. Plus, for $10 on Amazon it's a hard value to beat: https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Dockable-Thin-Case-compatible-Nintendo/dp/B077ZKVRTR/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1524341625&sr=8-1&keywords=nyko+switch+case

I think I’m familiar with your problem. I was searching for something that makes it easier to carry around and less of a hassle to play. Now, I’m using a leather case for my switch. It is a case that is slightly similar to an Ipad case with a cover. It covers the whole switch, but it has holes for the joystick so you won’t have to worry about it. It also has pockets for game cartridge, but I only put 2-4 cartridges, because 8 carts forms bumps on the cover. It also has a stand function, much easier for table top modes and joycons can easily be removed. And most importantly, it can still fit in my pocket, and has a wrist strap if I want to carry it around. My friends mistook it as a regular tablet when I first showed it to them LOL.

I bought this from an online store from my country. I searched a similar leather case from amazon, and found this https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Carrying-Hornorm-Holeders-Function/dp/B07JC89C5N

Im mainly a digital player but have seen people aim for this a lot. Im traveling and figured id check brickseek and came across this. Think you can order it from Walmart online for 15.76 alongside 1 amazon 3rd party seller. Standard YMMV as with all target/walmart posts. Feel free to take this down if posted improperly.

Yea, that's the one I wanted but I think it's a soft case.

The listing for it on Amazon Japan shows the packaging (this link be crazy, it had Japanese in the URL).
https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E4%BB%BB%E5%A4%A9%E5%A0%82-Nintendo-Switch%E3%82%AD%E3%83%A3%E3%83%AA%E3%83%B3%E3%82%B0%E3%82%B1%E3%83%BC%E3%82%B9-%E3%82%B9%E3%83%97%E3%83%A9%E3%83%88%E3%82%A5%E3%83%BC%E3%83%B32%E3%82%A8%E3%83%87%E3%82%A3%E3%82%B7%E3%83%A7%E3%83%B3-%E7%94%BB%E9%9D%A2%E4%BF%9D%E8%AD%B7%E3%82%B7%E3%83%BC%E3%83%88%E4%BB%98%E3%81%8D/dp/B072FH4TPJ/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1502000327&sr=8-6&keywords=nintendo+switch+case

And then on Amazon US, there's a plain Switch case with the same packaging, leading me to believe it's the same as the Splatoon one, just with no design. And reviews for this one definitely say it's a soft design that's meant more for scratches than any real protection.
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Carrying-Case-Screen-Protector/dp/B01N226BBW/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1502000425&sr=1-1&keywords=nintendo+switch+case&refinements=p_89%3ANintendo

But yea, this is the design I wanted, just on a hard case.

u/impudentmortal · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitchDeals

If you were to buy all individual items from Gamestop, then the bundle makes sense. But the Splatoon case is $5 cheaper on Amazon so you'd lose a little bit of money with this bundle.

Of course, if you wanted all items included in the bundle, it would definitely be worth it since the Switch is still so difficult to find. I'm going to hold off though, because I don't care too much about the case or comfort grip.

u/jesusofthemoon · 2 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

i'm also looking at cases right now and the only thing keeping me from the skull&co case is how bulky (and expensive) it is. i'm considering this as a middle ground but i don't know.

u/HellfyrAngel · 2 pointsr/splatoon

My corporate shill game is on point today, but I just wanted to point out that there's a switch case with this art (minus the photoshopped guy) on amazon

u/Pastoolio91 · 1 pointr/nintendo

I went with this one for my second case, as the first one I had was a soft case and didn't do much for protecting the joysticks:
https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Alumi-Mario-Officially-Licensed/dp/B07FQZ597M

This one has been great, although do note how you put the Switch in. Because the joystick on the left joycon is higher up and closer to the top of the switch, putting it in with that side closer to the zipper makes it slightly more susceptible to pressure on the joystick if you have it in a tightly packed backpack (if that makes sense).

That's the only con, and I haven't found a better case yet. Use this while you're out and about, and the Pro controller at home, and you shouldn't need to replace your joycons more than once every 18 months at the most, I'd say.

u/zanarze_kasn · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I haven't really liked any of the screen protectors I've bought. They are all tough to get on without any air bubbles accumulating. What's more important is a good case and awesome screen cleaner cloth. I got a good zelda case + cleaner + protector (that sucked) for bout $14 on amazon.

This is my set up:

Tomtoc case-
The tomtoc case is slim, minimalistic and high quality. Holds like 10 games and the Switch itself with room for a grip.
https://www.amazon.com/tomtoc-Original-Nintendo-Console-Carrying-Protection/dp/B07PNGWMZL?th=1&psc=1

Kingtop Grip-
By far the best and most versataille grip for the Switch. First off it's dockable. Second, allows removal of the Joycons without having to remove the entire case. There's a similar case by Ugreen however that case covers the buttons in the back used to remove the Joycons making it more difficult. Third, access to the kickstand making it tabletop friendly. The skull & co case for example is great however doesn't allow access to the kickstand and you need to remove the entire case to take the Joycons out. Lastly, holds 4 extra game cartridges in the rubber grips. With the tomtoc case you can hold about 14 games altogether.
https://www.amazon.com/Handheld-KINGTOP-Protective-Dissipation-Shockproof/dp/B07K3TZWPS/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=kingtop+switch+grip&qid=1566614355&s=gateway&sr=8-3

Skull & Co joystick thumb grips-
Never liked the feel of the Joycon analog stick. It felt mechanical or something. These thumb grips add a little bit of meat to the joysticks making it a lot more comfortable to play in handheld mode. Lastly one of the thumb grips are concave which is a lot more comfortable, in contrast to the convex ones on the joystick.

Nintendo Switch Clear Case

u/jachorus · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Does anyone know any carry case compatible with the Mumba protective case?

Tried two different ones but since the case makes the Switch volume bigger and carry cases tend to adjust to the shape of the Switch it doesn't fit well.

(In case someone didn't understand, by "carry case" I mean something like this)

u/0ldBay · 1 pointr/nintendoswitchlite

That’s what I was thinking. I had to get a carrying case for the time being, so I went with this one from Best Buy. It’s a very snug fit so I’ll have to find a little bit roomier of a carrying case because I also want to use a slim case for the lite like you have.

Question:Why is the picture the costomers posted different from the picturenod the product for sale?
Answer:This product was changed at some point. This is somewhat sketchy, and sellers will often do this in order to make new, unreviewed products appear to have good reviews. I believe this is explicitly against the terms of use for Amazon, and i know sellers have been permanently banned for doing it. To be clear, the product pictured is NOT the product i purchased, received, and reviewed. Everyone should report this page to amazon for review manipulation. see less

Are there any cases like the Nyko Power Shell already on the market? I love everything about this design, but I also don't want to wait until october to buy the case.

u/therealrentboy · 1 pointr/olkb

Hey. See here for a tweet demonstrating how awesome Nintendo Switch travel cases can be at protecting your Planck.

edit here’s an Amazon link to what is likely the one pictured based on Hori Co Ltd tag. Plenty others to choose from :)

edit edit I’m expecting one of these and will share my thoughts once delivered.

update it wasn’t as pictured and is too low profile for the hi-pro Planck and sufficiently tight at the corners with a hi-pro milled bottom that scuffing would likely be an issue.

u/Chokaay · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

1.) For scratch & bump protection I have the Nyko Thin Case on my Switch (available in different colors):

https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Thin-Case-Dockable-Protective-Protector/dp/B072KHS2Q5/

https://www.amazon.com/Nyko-Thin-Case-Dockable-Protective-Protector/dp/B077ZKVRTR/

It's a thin plastic case around almost all of your Switch to protect it from scratches & bumps, and comes with a tempered glass screen protector. It's also dockable, and thin enough to fit in many carrying cases.

If you want a Switch case that matches your Pikachu/Eevee theme, they have some available now:

https://www.amazon.com/HORI-Nintendo-Switch-Pikachu-Protector/dp/B07HMTX414/

2.) For everyday travel protection, you can get a zippered carrying case. Since I love "slim", but didn't want to sacrifice protection, I bought the TomToc Slim Hard Case (available in different colors):

https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Nintendo-Hardshell-Cartridges-Accessory-Sswitch/dp/B0769GCSMK/

https://www.amazon.com/Compatible-Nintendo-Original-Hardshell-Cartridges-Accessory/dp/B07C3Z8FFC/

When the Switch first came out, there weren't that many choices for "slim" hard cases, but now I see there are several similar-styled cases that also look pretty durable.

And again, if you want an everyday carrying case that is Pokemon-themed, they have some available now too:

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Pikachu-Officially-Licensed-Pokemon/dp/B07HBMKFVY/

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Pikachu-Officially-Licensed-Pokemon/dp/B07HBMZRJT/

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-System-Travel-Pikachu-500-110/dp/B07HM6Q8L9/

https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-Switch-Deluxe-Pikachu-Element-500-093/dp/B07GX89VWN/

... just google for more.

3.) If you travel long-distances or on lengthy trips, you may want to get a larger zippered hard case to fit your chargers, battery packs, extra joy-cons and/or pro controllers, HDMI dock, tons of games, etc. I don't have any one in particular to recommend, but in searching ebay it seems like there are hundreds of different cases available now (though not all of them look good).

u/sarcasmasquach · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Anyone have a Smatree Hard Protective Case? Looks pretty nifty and affordable. It's not as rugged as the Mumba but it does have access to both the stand and the joycons. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

u/burstfiredragon · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

My boyfriend got me this one for christmas; https://www.amazon.co.uk/Nintendo-Pikachu-Officially-Licensed-Pokemon/dp/B07HBMKFVY/ref=sr_1_18?keywords=switch+case&qid=1558619685&s=gateway&sr=8-18

And it's insanely strong for a case. I've dropped it down a set of stone stairs and there's barely even a mark on the case, let alone the Switch.

I came across two that seem to be the same, but are priced differently and have separate listings. To anyone that has used one of these cases before, is there one to choose over the other? How many of you are using a grip on your switch? Any recommendations and is it mandatory?

Also, I just bought this ultra slim protective case from Tomtoc, on a lightning deal for $16.99, and I really do like it and how slim it is. But I also saw that Tomtoc had this case that came with a free grip for the same if not lesser price than the ultra slim. What do you guys think. I’ve only had my switch for about a week and probably gonna play 60-70% in console mode and the rest handheld. What’s nice about the ultra slim is that it fits in a couple of my shoulder bags when I take on the go.

I'm actually having trouble finding it anywhere in the US, seems like it's out of stock everywhere. But if you're interested they do have it on Amazon JP. They also have a Splatoon variant that costs a bit more, that's the one I have. I imported it from Amazon JP since it only came to the US as part of a bundle and it cost maybe $30 total with shipping, and it was delivered to the US within 2 or 3 days.

Just gonna go ahead and put this right here: nothing fancy no weird eBay or cL stuff; straight up amazon prices: also with the exception of the Yok brand wheels being subbed for the licensed Nintendo ones; this is all apples to apples

Amazon links and prices for everything brand new:
Switch - New $300 / used $255

NBA 2k18 - New $60 / Used $36

Mario Odyssey - New $49 / Used $40

Hori Gamepad - New $21 / Used $15

(can't find the wheel by brand so)Nintendo Steering Wheels 2 - New $15 / Used $12

Nyko Thin Case - New $10 / Used in color shown $28 on amazon

Hori Screen Protector - new $3.26 / used why buy a used screen protector

So yeah, that's about everything

Total for everything new: $459

Total for everything used: $372

I’m not saying you should sell it at $372 (not strongly anyway) just ya know, it’s maybe $20 for you to ship it, $390?

u/abchiptop · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Amazon US has a bunch of Splatoon cases on prime.

The first party Game Traveler Deluxe Travel Case is $20. I have the blue Link one and it's great.

HORI has the splat pack with a soft case for $20 ($30 for the upcoming deluxe version with joycon holder) and their $20 Hard Pouch.

Is there another one I'm missing?

u/franktfd · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

Do you know if the case would fit the switch with something like this?

u/Maiiau · 1 pointr/NintendoSwitch

I use the Smatree case. I like that you can remove the joycons with the case still on if you want, as well as access the kickstand/SD card.

This one. I also bought this one which is nice, but ended up returning because it was too big for my needs. I just go to/from work and only carry the switch, a couple of games, and a cleaning cloth. Also, the first case is definitely the harder of the cases.

Zero protection from a skin at all. I had a drand skin on my OnePlus 6T, and it picked up every single particle in sight and made my phone a disgusting eyesore. Oh, and it left a shitload of residue when I finally became fed up with it. Skins are only good as scratch resistance or a cheap replaceable way for a quick color change. I only used the term skin in this post because when searching for a case, a lot of those results are for a carrying case from brands like Hori , such as this:

https://www.amazon.com/HORI-AlumiCase-Metal-Vault-Nintendo-Switch/dp/B01A9UATHE/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=hori+case+switch&qid=1562861377&s=gateway&sr=8-4
