Just recently got this same deal too! I’m turning it into a budget planner for my mom and opted for this snap on pouch (I couldn’t find the link to it on the Michael’s website, but I found it in their store with the other regular priced Happy Planner stuff) It matches the pattern and the size really well and sits really nicely against the back, and felt like a better alternative to the stick-on pen loop I was gonna get for it, since you can use it for multiple, different items. They were having a 40% off sale on all planner stuff when I went last week, so it made the planner feel like even more of a steal.

I also picked up an awesome large list/ sticky note pad from that same section that I think acts as a good place to jot down notes without having to add too much weight and extra paper to the small rings.

& It also never hurts to add a dashboard to pop any cute sticky notes onto! here are some pictures I just took because I was too excited about this not to share! 😂

Waiter Wallet

I've used the waiter wallet for the past year and really like it! Great way to keep everything organized. I use the clear pocket for a cheat sheet on what drinks my bar has. The medium size is great because it doesn't stick out of my apron.

I recently found the BEST planner ever. It's called the action day planner.

It's organized week by week, plus has a monthly calendar, a little pocket in the back, and several pages where you can define and set goals for yourself for the entire year.

Honestly it's absolutely perfect. My favorite part is that you can set overall goals for each week (like mine says finish this paper draft) with your motivation for doing so and the next actions toward it, and in a SEPARATE place list your everyday tasks (like pay the electric bill, make appt, grocery shop, etc). Then you can organize each day by the hour.

I used to have to put all my tasks and goals in the same to do list and that made everything feel overwhelming and also didn't differentiate them by length/importance. I've also never fared wrll with online planners, I forget about them and when I do use them I get distracted
(The internet is a powerful force).

This is so smooth and brilliant. It is a little pricey yes, but worth it!!! And the material it's made of is top notch. I have no worries that it won't last through the year.

I also had the same problem when my pouch from the middle east finally broke down. My solution, get a pencil bag (it was the same style that I got over there). You can go to any craft or office store and get one, or if you want more variety, you can go online.
Here's one on Amazon Prime

Just make sure it's long enough for your whole pipe+filter and you're all good.

Here you go!

It is a bit pricey but if you search in Amazon "leather hardcover journal" you find some other ones too. Also the Player's handbook is at a ~50% discount.

You can order the AVECs from Amazon, they won't be in for a while though. Here is the July - December one, its only been up since May. (that price has gone up a bit too)

Apparently they come in odd different sizes. Is a typical one 95mm by 171mm? Are you looking for one that's more like a small journal sized? Or A5? Too many choices!

I actually saw some cute small ones in a pretty light pink, blue and some other colors like this one but I'm unfamiliar with the brand. Is that small, or do any of these look like something you'd covet? 😉

$50 isn't a real price, but moleskins can go for $20 easy. And there are some notebooks made out of leather and shit that they charge $70

I think there are a lot of good suggestions for books already on here, but I will add that the Redwall series could be pretty cool. Personally, I would probably go for a leather book such as this one. Or an older looking hardcover dictionary like this could work. Just that general aesthetic would please D&D players in my opinion.

I saw one that comes with a 5 x 8.25 insert included. This is that you are referring to? Thanks!!

I'm looking for a cover for this planner. Also love the graphic image covers, but they ate so expensive.

This one is probably the closest you're going to get on Amazon.

Another option is to buy a cheaper Field Notes leather cover with card slots, purchase a 1/8" or 5/32" leather hole punch, and then just punch a few holes into the "spine" section to insert the elastics into.

Hi, I've gone through the same stuff, and sorry to break it to you but you never completely change, but you CAN put in a lot of structures around you to make it easier for you to follow through on what you want to do. Here are some tips that worked for me.

a) Don't schedule more than 5 small tasks for the day, just make sure they're 5 useful ones that'll get you started on whatever project it is. Try to setting out the things you need for the task ahead of time, like just putting your workout clothes out on your bed. Overplanning your day with a schedule of exactly what you're going to do (which you're likely to not follow anyway) is just a distraction from actually doing something.

b) Get yourself out of the house (which might be hard itself) and take JUST the things you need to work and go sit down somewhere your computer screen is visible [ like a cafe ] and then try to work in in 25 minute chunks of time (Pomodoro Technique : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique). If you can bring a friend along to chat with during those 5 minute breaks, that helps!

c) Try using this journal (https://www.amazon.com/Go-Journal-Cultivate-Gratitude-self-Reflection/dp/B01MY29EBA/ref=sr_1_39?keywords=90+day+journal&qid=1572460766&sr=8-39) so you don't have to spend that much energy setting things up, and also concretize goals and small actions you can take towards them. I recommend trying TINY actions for each day, such as just opening a textbook to the right page or drafting bullet points for an important e-mail rather than actually writing it & sending it out ( I get fear paralysis).

d) Watch this Ted Talk which provides a framework about what to do when you're procrastinating, I think you might relate to a lot of what this guy talks about: https://www.ted.com/talks/tim_urban_inside_the_mind_of_a_master_procrastinator

e) If you can afford it, try some apps/systems that make you lose money when you don't follow through on an action you had decided you would do, eg. my gym charges me $15 for each booked class I don't show up to, and that definitely gets me going.

f) The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg is a really compelling read on how habits determine what we do & don't do, and how we can form new habits to change the way we live. You can try implementing a couple of those, and there's a lot more content on the topic out there.

e) The moment you have an impulse or any motivation to do something, drop everything else and MOVE to do it right away, don't just write it in your endless to do list.

Sorry this is a lot, and isn't all connected, but I hope it helps!

YES that’s exactly what I do! This is the planner I use and I love it.

u/Loki364 · 1 pointr/DnD

I love these. If only there were some way to combine it and an adventurers journal to keep track of campaign...

Found something like it on Amazon.
